Negative experience: I would strongly encourage people Not to rent from Main Street Renewal. My wife and I rented one of their homes and eventually found a brand-new house to move into. Main Street made it extremely difficult for us to get out of our lease. Although we understood we were in a binding contract, the process was unnecessarily complicated. Not to mention, we only had two months left on our lease. When it came time to move out, my wife and I took every step necessary to ensure we would receive our full security deposit back. During the pre-inspection, we were advised that a few walls needed minor patching and some touch-up paint. Other than that, the inspector stated the home was in great condition and even commented that Main Street would have to do little to nothing to get the property ready for the next tenant. The property had already been listed before we vacated, which further shows that major work was not required. Despite this, Main Street charged us for drywall repairs, which in most rental properties is considered normal wear and tear since tenants commonly hang items like TVs and pictures on the walls. They also charged us for a deep cleaning, which I found completely unreasonable. Most rental companies send a cleaning crew through a property after a tenant moves out regardless. We left the home in good condition and certainly not in a state that required excessive cleaning. Additionally, we were charged for a toilet paper holder that was already broken when we moved into the property. I disputed these charges with Main Street on two separate occasions, but they made no effort to compromise or return any portion of the deducted amount. To make matters worse, they had already sent out the reduced security deposit before I even had the opportunity to properly dispute the charges. Based on my experience, it felt like Main Street simply used a portion of our security deposit to prepare the house for the next tenant, even though many of the charges were for items that should be considered normal wear and tear. I have photos showing that the home was left in immaculate condition when we moved out. If you choose to rent from Main Street Renewal, just be aware that you may not receive your full security deposit back, even if you leave the property in excellent condition.

Negative experience: I had a very frustrating experience with this rental company. While completing the application, I wasn’t able to get past the income section before it required me to pay the application fee. As soon as the payment was processed, I was automatically denied without being able to fully complete the application. It feels very misleading to require payment before allowing applicants to finish entering their information, especially if the system is going to deny the application immediately. I would strongly suggest they make their process more transparent so applicants understand the requirements before being charged. Very disappointed with how this was handled.

In response to the reply: I had a self guided tour through another property management that also used rently but they provide access code to the property free of charge.

Negative experience: This has been, by far, the worst customer service experience I have ever had regarding maintenance issues. I have now gone three consecutive days with severe plumbing problems, including water backing up from both toilets and the shower drain. I am completely unable to use the bathroom, which has made my living conditions unacceptable and unlivable. Despite contacting Mainstreet daily, the process of reaching a live representative is extremely difficult due to their virtual agent system. The only way to receive assistance is through text or online chat, which has been frustrating and inefficient during an urgent situation. To make matters worse, the assigned technician, Hong Nguyen, did not resolve the issue. After his visit, the problem actually worsened due to his laziness. Sewer water has continued to back up through multiple drains, and I have had several different individuals coming in and out of my home without any clear resolution. I moved in only a month ago, and my experience with this company has been incredibly disappointing. Based on my experience, I would strongly advise others to reconsider before renting with them.

Negative experience: Rented a house through this company less than a year before I got a notice they were going to sell and we could either move out or buy.. now this house is back up for rent. Very sketchy company! Their own maintenance bad mouths their companies practices! Steer clear unless you want to pay extra money just to be lied to and made to move.

Negative experience: This rental property is the worst. Do not rent from this company they steal your money, takes weeks to months to fix issues in the house. I rented a house from them and the day I moved in that house was full of roaches. I called them and took them weeks to send someone to fix the problem that it didn’t get fixed. I had to hire Orkin pro and within 3 days the roaches were gone. I had so many issues with heat, cooling and pipes that took them months to fixed. I had to stay at a hotel in the middle of June when my ac went out for 2 weeks and my house reached 95. No one ever called to check on us or payed me back for my hotel stay or deducted from my rent. Horrible company. I turned the house nice and clean I went above and beyond and turned the house in better condition that what I received it. My deposit was $2,000 and only got $400 back. Why??? Because they lied saying the carpet was damaged, doors damaged and other stupid things. Yes damage from the previous tenants who they acknowledge yet I get blamed for it. Run away from this company trust me. I’m glad I did in time.

Negative experience: I will never recommend Mainstreet Renewal to anyone!! They are horrible for many reason, and the most recent is I have been renting from them since April 2022. I have always had renters insurance there has never been a lapse in coverage. Mainstreet reached out to me last Sept or Oct about my renters policy and I uploaded the new policy to the portal the rep on the phone told me everything was fine. I didn't think anything else about it. The holiday's come around and I'm receiving emails about forced insurance and now I'm upset because I uploaded the Dec pages with the info, the rep stated it was fine. The new person looked and said the dates were incorrect, I accidentally uploaded my old policy, it was same the day, so I uploaded the correct policy, no problem. Me and the Rep made sure the policy had the correct dates, (there still was never a lapse my insurance agent verified that). I spoke to Mainstreet 6-8 times about this all of them saying they can see that I always had insurance and the charges should be removed. Today, Jan 23rd I spoke to the rep and waited on the phone while they spoke to the Mainstreet Insurance Dept and they said I still had to pay the fee for being non-compliant (in which I never was) and one month payment for insurance. I told them what they can do with that, because I do not owe it and I will not pay it. I really dislike Mainstreet and I would not recommend them to anyone.

Negative experience: I do not recommend renting/leasing from Main Street Renewal. Customer service is extremely poor. There is no way to speak with a live person about your property—everything is handled through chat, text, or email, and their call center cannot assist or escalate issues. You are essentially stuck in a non-responsive lease. Maintenance is a major problem. We have had a serious kitchen water leak for over 20 days, making the kitchen unusable. Appointments are constantly rescheduled with little to no explanation due to staffing shortages, yet we continue paying full rent. We’ve had to eat out and even change holiday plans because of their lack of response. The home was also poorly prepared at move-in: cheap spot-painting, unclean carpets despite prior pets, and the yard was not maintained as promised. This company takes rent but fails to provide basic maintenance or accountability. Based on our experience, I would strongly advise others to rent elsewhere.

Negative experience: For me even the first experience with them was reflective of all the negative reviews provided. Thank God I was saved from entering into any contract with them. I made a 'self-guided' tour of property listed by them and then I had few questions that I asked over the messages and zillow queries, but those were never responded. I tried calling them but it was always pre-recorded answer. Eventually, I gave up with the property listed by them.

Negative experience: Absolute worst company ever! Just a few things that are very bad. 1. failed to tell me what gas company to contact to get gas utility turned on. In the move in checklist the gas was said yo be managed thru them and that was wrong so I went three days with no shower or stove! 2. No one knows what they are doing i called three times before move in to get electric meter number to turn on power and it took until the 3rd person to get me a photo of that because no one knew where to find a photo. 3. And lastly when we moved in about 4 days later our neighbor told us our irrigation system was leaking into the yard and they are telling me they cannot repay me the high water bill until they fix the pipe!(someone came by and said they had to call another company and nothing has been done) so now I'm out the money and they dont care so dont rent with them ever!!!!! (Update) they told me to email them all the issues to get them over to the right team and no one has ever reached out after that to try and make something right. They just respond to bad reviews to look like they want to help but dont!

Negative experience: I’ve had lot of issues since move in and it hasn’t even been 3 weeks. This company is taking our money and don’t want to take accountability for what they are supposed to do. They did not make the home move in ready. I spent 5 days cleaning dirt, dust, spider webs in the home before I was able to move my things. I am only complimenting the tech Eduardo Luera because he was great! He’s very efficient and understands from the customers point of view. Fantastic experience: This review is for the technician and not the company. A technician named Joe came out to assist with 2 issues. He noticed when my gas was set up earlier this year, they missed the gas line for the heater. He tested it after setting it properly and the heater is now working. As for the dish washer, he also couldn’t identify the source of the rust. But he suggested we drain the hot water heater in the event that the water tank could be a source and said to reach out if it continues. We was friendly and got me fixed really quickly As for the company…. I can’t wait to move in April since the 80 work orders I had in 5 months left me without a pool all summer, excessive water bills from a leak that took 3 months to fix, red code enforcement violations, taking 6 weeks to fix a widow that fell out of the frame in a bedroom. And then pretty much ignoring my request to move out early. The technicians are the only shining part of this company.

Negative experience: Maintenance has no obligation to repair things. Last year we had no door handle due to foundation issues. We had to sleep with duct tape over our back door. We have been having issues with our bathroom flooding and they refuse to send someone out right away. This is the second time we have had issues with the main bathroom. RUN AWAY from renting from this company. They do not care about the maintenance of the house or their tenants.

Joe was sent to check it out and had it fixed in a couple of minutes, and stayed longer than he was allotted helping sort out a leak that needed attention (which he wasn’t scheduled for).
