Our comment from Agencias Inmobiliarias about Keystone Realty & Management:

Keystone Realty & Management is a property management company focused on providing a range of services to tenants and property owners alike. Many users highlight the friendly and helpful staff, particularly appreciating the support from individuals like Danielle Ashley and Melissa Crabtree. Customers who interacted with them commend their professionalism and responsiveness, noting how they went above and beyond during the rental process and in handling maintenance requests.

Positive reviews often mention the quick response times to maintenance issues, with several tenants stating that their requests were resolved promptly. Moreover, many clients express satisfaction with the overall management of the properties, citing a positive living environment and effective communication regarding rental agreements.

However, not all experiences are positive. Some customers have raised concerns regarding poor maintenance response times and unclear lease terms, particularly around cleaning fees and security deposits. Issues related to the condition of some properties before move-in have also been noted, leading to frustration for those expecting a cleaner environment. Moreover, several reviews suggest that problems with transparency and customer service could be improved.

In conclusion, while Keystone Realty & Management is praised for its approach in tenant relations and swift responses in emergencies, there remain areas for improvement, particularly in maintenance and clarity regarding lease terms.

Negative experience: AVOID THIS COMPANY! Horrible management and maintenance! We moved in 4 days ago and the unit is dirty and stuff are broken. We walked in and the faucet in the kitchen is broken and leaking water. We can’t even do our dishes. The carpet is filthy to the extent that it feel sticky. We placed a work order and they claimed that is wear and tear. There is mold next to the carpet and they claimed that the unit was professionally cleaned. It was not! The unit was not ready to be moved in at all and when I came to the office and one of the staff was laughing at the problem. Definitely ready to move out. For some reason it wouldn’t let me attached pictures.

Negative experience: We moved into this apartment in November, and the unit was not properly cleaned or painted before we arrived. There were fingerprints and smudges everywhere. When I reported it to management, they insisted the apartment had already been cleaned. At the end of February, they conducted an inspection and charged me a $25 fee for dirty air filters. However, the filters were never replaced or cleaned before we moved in. It feels unfair to be charged for something that should have been handled before the apartment was rented. I’m also disappointed with the maintenance service. Issues aren’t addressed, the apartment wasn’t cleaned properly before move-in, and even basic things like snow removal haven’t been taken care of. Overall, this has been a frustrating experience, and I would not recommend renting here.

Negative experience: They claim to look past credit history and work with you, but that's just something they say to get you to apply and pay $75 for a rental application. Was denied even though I have a decent credit score, make more than 3x the rent, no evictions and no criminal history. They run your information through some 3rd party company that gives them some score on whether or not you are approved and don't even bother contacting you personally. Waste of time and money. Find another company to do business with that understands sometimes life happens.

Fantastic experience: I moved from Lima, Ohio to Clarksville Tn n before I moved I got in touch with them still in Ohio I was working with Teresa L and she's actually the one that found the apartment for me still in Ohio, I watch a video I fell in love with the apartment so much room and very clean when I moved in. They also take section 8 voucher too. The staff at Keystone help me along the way to get me down here. I have a 2 bedroom 1 bath W/D hooked up in its own room. The kitchen I like perfect n a dishwasher I don't use I prefer washing them instead. I'm so glad that I got this apartment.

Negative experience: money hungry and heartless management. we had our rent on autopay for the entire year we lived here. we recently renewed the lease and was unaware it would turn off autopay. our first month after the renewal ended up being late and we were charged a fee. we paid it immediately as soon as we noticed and called to see about getting the late fee waived since we weren’t made aware auto pay would be turned off and we have never been late on rent before. we were told “we can’t refund you”. so you can take as much money as you want but you’re unable to return it under any circumstance? i can understand just saying no but telling me you physically cannot give me my money back is insane.

Negative experience: Where do I start I was relocating and found a home they were managing online. When I did the walk thru with their realtor I was told the home would be cleaned as there was a ton of the owners belonging stored in the garage (furniture including beds and chairs, tools, miscellaneous items). I was told these items would be removed however when I moved in the house was still dirty. Had a poor paint job and there were dead bugs in the fridge and the fridge was broken and made a loud noise none stop. I was horrified! The kitchen sink had a leak, It took me 2 hours to fully clean an empty house. I was also told the house was electric however, the heat was gas so when I moved in, in the middle of winter me and my family were forced to freeze for two days because the gas was shut off due to the gas company being closed over the weekend. The dishwasher stopped working and the repair man said it was because it was filled with dead roaches behind the keypad which I had no knowledge of. 3 months into me moving in the batteries in almost everything including light bulbs went dead. I was told 6 months into me moving in that the owner wanted to sell the property and wasn’t going to renew my lease so I was forced to save an additional couple thousand for move in cost somewhere else after spending at least 6k to relocate. I even considered another keystone property, however when I called to see if someone would show me one of their townhomes I was told I needed to fill out an application first before I could see it. I explained to them that I was already a current tenant and that it made absolutely no sense for me to spend money to apply for a property I may not even like WHILE STILL BEING A TENANT WHO PAID ON TIME! In an attempt to get the house ready for sale the owner began inconveniencing me by having people show up to the home unannounced to get the home ready for sale including pressure washing the house (with water I was paying for) and painting the deck so I couldn’t access the deck for a whole 3 days because it was wet and needed to dry. My final straw was when I moved out I had the carpet area professionally cleaned and cleaned the house from top to bottom only for them to take ALL of my deposit because they said I left the appliance dirty which was a lie I cleaned every appliance thoroughly which did not matter because they were old appliances from the 90’s that the owner ended up throwing away because I saw the appliances they claimed I left dirty outside on the curb when I drove past. They also charged me to have the furniture the owner was storing prior to move in removed even though it was there before I moved in. Then they charged me a BS fee to have the new property management company to verify that I pay my rent on time. They do not inspect or clean their STAY AWAY FROM THESE GREEDY SLUMLORDS!!

Negative experience: I would not recommend Lizette Green-Bean, who is a Broker/REALTOR® at this real estate company as well as The Barnes Group. I have had real estate transactions with many agents, brokers, and REALTOR®s over time, and I would not recommend this "professional" to anyone. Unprofessional with a serious lack of communication.

Fantastic experience: Over the past three years, I have been consistently impressed by the exceptional service provided by this establishment. The staff is highly professional, and the maintenance service is of the highest caliber.

Brooke Zens Published on Google 8 months ago

Negative experience: I had a terrible experience with the maintenance team of this property management company. When I got the keys, I did a pre-move-in inspection. There was many things that were damaged and needed attention at the property. I put work orders in for four different issues; the kitchen faucet leaking, one fan not rotating counterclockwise, the front door seal having a gap (causing bugs and hot air to come in) and a broken light bulb in the back that had the screw thread stuck in the outlet. The only thing that was fixed was the faucet leak. The other work orders were canceled by Katelyn Fishburn without any explanation or notice. I personally had to call the maintenance department and ask why these work orders were canceled. Katelyn told me it was because this property was getting new management in three weeks. So for the three weeks that I still had this property management company, they were not fixing any work orders Katelyn told me. The fact that I had to call myself because Katelyn canceled all of the work orders without any explanation was very irritating. I also tried to put a work order in for a 3 inch dent in the drywall that was there before moving in. It looked like it was patched before, and there is a hole in the wall where the dent is so you can see inside the wall. Katelyn told me this was not being fixed because it is cosmetic. Since there is a hole in the wall, bugs can crawl in there and make a bigger issue as time goes on… but Katelyn didn’t seem to care. As of the other day, I have a new property management company and they are already reaching out to contractors to come fix all of these issues that keystone’s maintenance team refused to fix. Definitely don’t recommend this property management company because of maintenance itself… When you rent a property, you don’t want to have to worry about fixing things…that’s what the maintenance department is for. So the fact that they refused to fix anything besides a leaking faucet is very sad. Anybody that rents would not want to rent from a place that refuses to fix anything that’s damaged or needs attention… I would never rent from this company again and I would not recommend anyone to rent from this company. Horrible communication and maintenance team.

Ms. Brooke,
During a management transition period, a specific protocol is followed. Non-emergency maintenance requests may be temporarily paused until the transition to the new management company is complete. This measure ensures that all work is performed with consistency and quality, using the approved vendors of the incoming management company. Emergency maintenance issues are continued to be addressed without interruption.

Negative experience: Do not rent from this place at all. We have lived in one of their properties for over 3 years and had problems from day one. They are all about the money and not tenants. They threw us out due to and issue with my service dog and told use we could stay if we got ride of my service dog dog. One that against the law. They we had alit of issues when we moved in witch were not fixed some we did our self but want to charge for them. They want u to basically rent from them and not live there. I would never buy or rent from the ever again or recommend them.

Keystone Realty & Management
Keystone Realty & Management

Ms. Nichole,
Our company takes tenant concerns seriously and strives to follow all housing laws, including those related to service animals and fair housing protections. We never ask residents to remove a service animal, and any requests or requirements regarding animals are handled in accordance with the law. Unfortunately, if a report of an animal biting is received by our office regardless whether the animal is a service and/or emotional support animal TN Law still treated like any other animal in terms of liability under animal bite statutes.
Regarding maintenance, our goal is always to ensure that properties are safe and well maintained, and we encourage tenants to promptly report any issues so they can be addressed. We regret if there were misunderstandings during your tenancy and will review this matter further to ensure clarity and fairness in our processes.

We value all residents and remain committed to providing quality housing and professional management.

Negative experience: do not rent from Keystone Realty. every single thing with them is a fee. I have had multiple conversations with the staff there with them being rude and unjustified. the so called manager Lani in Clarksville, TN literally hung up the phone on me when I still had questions about a fee in my account for not being at my apartment at a certain time, when I had no idea they were going to be there for a inspection. Lani was very rude, and ultimately made me write this review. she was a so called "manager" there and was completely no help whatsoever. save yourself the trouble, and rent somewhere else save the headache, I am quite literally going out of my way to finish my lease and moving to somewhere completely the opposite of keystone realty for this very reason. staff is very rude and unjustified. youve been warned

Hello Tyler, you were given an explanation of the charges that would be deducted from your security deposit. None of which were "damages". You would have actually received most of your security deposit back if you would have had a zero balance before we released your security deposit.

Negative experience: This business scammed me out of my security deposit. I called on the 5th of my last month in the unit and they said since I called on the 5th I have to pay for 5 days into the next month (prorated 160+ add to acct) . Then said they would give me 30 days to move out(the 5 days prorated are part of the 30days) but instead came and inspected and took pictures on day 25 when I cleaning and throwing away trash. Next they charged my account for cleaning and trash removal. Long story short they “said they would give me 30 days “ to move but instead gave me 25 days and came inspected the unit while I was still cleaning took pictures that made it look like I didn’t clean it at all charged it to my account as cleaning fees then say I owe them. even after they got the keys after I WAS officially done cleaning and they could Actually see the difference from when they came and took pictures while I was cleaning vs after I gave the keys nothing change still charged me . Unprofessional businesses at the least !

Keystone Realty & Management

Sir,
After careful review of the account, it was found that the 30-day notice that submitted to our office stated you would be out of the property on a specific date and a written notification with the date of the move out inspection were provided. Unfortunately, once the move out inspection has been completed residents are no longer provided access to the property. No communication with our office occurred to inform staff that you would not be out of the property on the date provided on the 30-day notice.
Additionally, the charge to remove the items was removed and credited back to you. If you have additional questions or concerns please email [email protected].

Thank you.

Negative experience: just got home from the hospital after delivering my stillborn son to find a company vehicle parked right in front of our door in our assigned spot. they were working on the unit next door and that spot was completely open by the way. this wasn’t a big deal, my fiancé just went and asked them to move it and everything was fine. but next thing we know we get contacted by rose that we were trespassing and she wants to hang up on me when i try to explain what happened. these people don’t care about you. don’t give them your time and money. rent literally anywhere else. god forbid rose ever has to come home with a box of memories instead of her baby and then someone wants to get an attitude about a parking spot. also it doesn’t say anywhere in our lease that keystone vehicles can park wherever they want. the spots are assigned for a reason. anyone that rents here knows rose made a very big deal about that so maybe she should follow her rules instead of acting like she’s above everyone else. should’ve just had them towed.

Negative experience: All veterans/military I highly recommend staying far away from this company! I would give this place zero stars if I could. My significant other and I had a truly awful experience with this rental agency, and property owner at Centre Pointe Dr. I would not recommend them to my worst enemy. From the start, they were incredibly unprofessional. They charged us before we even had a chance to see the property, which should have been a huge red flag. Their policies are unethical, and if you take the time to read all the reviews, you'll see a consistent pattern of complaints about their shady practices. Most, if not all, of their rental properties are poorly managed, and it honestly feels like a scam. They took our deposit without hesitation and made it clear that once they have your money, you're at their mercy. We arrived on move in day to an extremely dirty unit and upon moving out they make you pay for professional cleaners......There are so many issues with this company that simply don’t add up or make any sense. The environment was unsafe and stressful, with constant noise, a general lack of security which led to stolen packages, and was never addressed. The neighbor was incredibly unsanitary, leaving trash in the hallway for days, and also was not addressed. On top of that, my significant other, who suffers from PTSD, was severely affected by the environment and the overall stress of dealing with this agency. We were only there four months and could not stand to be there any longer. I personally come from very humble beginnings and was extremely disappointed from start to end and that speaks volumes. Despite all of this, they refused to let us vacate and would not let us break the lease. Save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere.

Louis Jackson Fiore Published on Google 1 year ago

Negative experience: Please learn from my mistake and avoid doing business with this less than professional management team. at Main 608 they did not honor their end of the shared room lease agreement. I often would send pics & email requests of my concerns & issues with the cleanliness of the common area and dirty dishes left in sink for days at a time. So although very dissatisfied, I fulfilled my lease agreement. I gave notice & cleaned my space well (and took pictures) while vacating the property early. Get this, I get a bill for cleaning costs and dispute it - the girl who runs the office - has a cleaning contract with Main 608 that way they can pay her less to run the office. I hope the City checks on this place more frequently. Dirty common areas- overflowing garbage and the smell of pot everywhere.(so the Manager/Cleaning Contractor has a vested interest in charging me for cleaning that doesn't need to be done.) Also, the son of the Keystone Owner is considered the "maintenance manager" this entitled and disrespectful kid lacks professionalism and skill, but mom saves money cutting corners. One final example of how they bully the tenants, I paid $25 monthly for a parking spot and the staff or maintenance team would on frequent occasions park in My paid parking spot!!! I have great credit- and pay all my bills in a timely manner. These people put a collections on my record for less than $100...and the reason I won't pay is principle. It's a two-way street! Treat people the way you want to be treated. Shame on You Keystone!

Negative experience: I wanted to see what kind of response I get for sharing this. I was in Hopkinsville for work. I started on a Monday and found an apt close to the project. I paid $1400+ dollars. I signed a lease to rent, paid all the fees. 10 minutes (10 MINUTES). After I sign the lease I was told I was being laid off. I called Keystone and asked for someone who would show mercy. They didn’t…I could not break the 10 minute old lease and they kept all but $400 ish dollars. Ethics don’t seem to mean much to this company. I am sure they will say “ you signed and you knew parts were non refundable.” To me, showing no mercy and taking the money and hiding behind “a contract”. Says a lot about their character and intentions. I will submit a new review if they reach out to me and make this right. You have my number, AND my money. Update: Again, the cookie cutter answer I expected. Talk about “fairness”… policies in place for fairness? You gladly took $1400 dollars and 10 minutes later when I have a life changing job loss you turned your head and hid behind “policy” and “ we are sorry you feel that way”…your integrity wasn’t present at that moment and your do NOT do the right thing…cowardly and selfish…throw some more rebuttal about policy and fairness….or.. just maybe search your soul and do the right thing…

Keystone Realty & Management
Keystone Realty & Management

Mr. Merritt,
We take our reviews very seriously. We strive to provide clear communication regarding all fees and policies, including non-refundable funds, which are outlined prior to completing an application and in our lease agreement. We understand that these policies can sometimes be frustrating. We're sorry to hear that you feel this way. Again, our team strives to uphold honesty, transparency, and professionalism in all our interactions. Policies are in place to ensure fairness to all residents and prospective residents.

Negative experience: I rented from them and thought things were good until they do not want to return your security deposit , this is truly crazy to make up things that’s wrong please take pictures because they will charge you for everything and even stupid things. If you are moving to Clarksville and take care of property! do not move here in the their rentals.when I tell you no one I asked who rents from them have anything good to say! Not any of the people got their money back no one has. I do not recommend renting from them. Stay clear. Away and if you do take pictures of everything and keep documents. I lived in Clarksville 22 years and have always gotten my security back and these people are Scammers when it comes to this. And every year the rent went up. They would only spray for bugs if you bring it to their attention. I say this again if you like giving your money away rent from them if not search around. Do your research! I will dispute this!

Fantastic experience: I live at main 608. Kristina is the best, she has always been so helpful and kind. I honestly don’t think I would have been living here for so long if it wasn’t for her. I feel like I never have to worry about anything because I know she’s got me. She cares for everyone’s safety and I can always reach out to her when anything is wrong and she fixes it immediately. Kristina is a true asset to keystone.

Negative experience: We rented through Bill Mace back in 2019; we moved out a few months to move to another town; when a new job brought us back to Oak Grove. We rented again through Bill Mace where we were told it was now Keystone as the property management. No issues getting into another home; however I was hospitalized while my husband signed the lease and they wouldn’t add me because I wasn’t there with my ID… long story is we totally forgot once I got released from a almost death in patient. Our life was flipped upside down. I lost my job and started babysitting 3 kids (all friends who were active duty) and also my niece and nephew, state law says I can watch 3 kids not related to myself. Anyways a neighbor apparently turned me into the leasing office and it was proven we weren’t watching more than 3 kids as my husband and grown adult son were working. However they advised us a 30 day notice to vacate due to the fact I wasn’t on the lease; when my husband explained the situation and asked to add me we were denied. We moved out and now have to pay close to 6 months of rent even thought they vacated us. They rented the home out within 30 days of us moving out. They charged us for things my husband put work orders in for and never fixed. We just gave up and pay a monthly fee. (Not that we can afford it with all my medical issues, they threaten to take us to court if 1 missed payment) The neighbor who threatened us, our dogs, and the kids I was watching; whom I took to court and got a protection order on, and who has a nasty home and doing drugs and has 4 people living there with out being on the lease was allowed to stay and STILL LIVING THERE. Staff was rude and didn’t accept police reports showing how hostile it was living there with the neighbor! Do not rent through them OR Bill Mace homes!!!!

Fantastic experience: I put in an application for this available apartment to be told I was accepted, but with DOUBLE DEPOSIT. Needless I wrote off this company all together. It had taken me months to save what I had. So I applied other places, spending more of my precious savings. With things getting tense at my current place I get this message from Miss Christine (my new angel) asking me about an apartment......I told her I would love to but could not afford the double deposit!! She tells me that is not the case!!!!! I was so . Met with her later at I different apartment. But it is within walking distance of my job!!! And soooo much room!!! THANK YOU AGAIN MISS CHRISTINE

Negative experience: Avoid moving into ANY properties managed by this company. Employees are rude, lazy and don’t care about the wellbeing of the tenants. Fees will be charged for EVERYTHING including monthly processing to pay rent using bank information. As a 22yr banker I know ACH is processed FREE. Emails scolding tenants on unacceptable behavior rather than addressing the issue directly with the customer is childish and uncalled for. Amenities listed on advertised properties are misleading at best. Counting down months left on lease to move and NEVER have to deal with the (Karen’s) again!

Keystone Realty & Management
Keystone Realty & Management

Hello Ana, we take our reviews very seriously and I'm concerned as to why you would leave random bad reviews when our staff has been nothing but nice to you. I have reviewed your account, phone calls and have spoken with our staff to figure out why you are so unhappy with our company. After reviewing your account, you have not been charged any fees and our onsite staff calls you when you have packages delivered as a courtesy. The email that you are referring to was sent out to all tenants reminding every one of the pool rules so no one gets hurt. This email was not scolding, just a reminder because we care and don't want anyone to get hurt. What amenities advertised were misleading? I reviewed our advertisement for the property and I don't see anything misleading. ACH processed through a 3rd party isn't free and this is listed on your portal. The $2.95 is not a fee Keystone charges but a fee that the 3rd party charges. This is disclosed when you login to your tenant portal. You can avoid the $2.95 by bringing your rent payment into the office. Again, we take our reviews very seriously and would appreciate you either calling to speak with a manger before posting bad reviews or you can email us at [email protected]

Negative experience: This is THE worst company to rent from. They are unclear with their terms of the lease, making you pay for “professional cleaning” then take it out of your deposit after the fact. Unprofessional company. Sleezy business people. Should not be in business

Keystone Realty & Management
Keystone Realty & Management

Hello, the company is very clear of the terms of the lease. Your lease states that you are to have the home cleaned upon move out and if that isn't done then you are charged for that. The 30 day notice also goes over what is to be done upon move out so if you didn't understand anything in the lease or 30 day notice you should have asked so it could have been explained to you.

Fantastic experience: Danielle worked with me by explaining exactly what it would take for the move including prorated fees and deposits. Negative experience: Extremely shady business practices. Wanted to charge $75 just to LOOK not even knowing if I would like it and there was nothing else i liked on the site so the going towards blah blah spill NO. After probing further it was found the property I was already interested in was RENTED so you tried to 1. Get $75 out of me just to LOOK knowing FULL AND WELL THE PROPERTY WAS RENTED how dare you try to steal money from me. I'll build a house with my bare hands THEN study and apply for my real estate license before I deal with this agency!!

Keystone Realty & Management

Good morning Ms. Griggs, Keystone does not charge to view properties nor is it Keystone’s policy to have you apply before viewing one of our properties. It’s at the agents discretion whether to show properties to people who hasn’t been approved.

Innayah Askew Published on Google 1 year ago

Negative experience: Would not recommend renting through this realty company. This realty company is the epitome of poor management. There is no customer service skills, and they love a good “fee”. Going into the office they’re rude, talking over the phone, they’re also rude. There is CONSTANT inspections. Of which I’ve gotten no notice from one of them. Of course I was told that an email was sent out to notify me of the inspection (surprise: there was no email sent out). When I initially moved into a new build townhome it was great. There was trash service for each unit, currently there is a SMALL compactor that every unit is expected to utilize (which constantly overflows, has become a public dumping ground), there is no amenities to the property, not even a water hose hookup! I guess I should’ve researched more throughly before making the PCs from Alaska to Tennessee. Update to 07/01/2024 My dishwasher recently stopped working. I tried self troubleshooting.. even looked up YouTube videos, reset the breaker (which was labeled incorrectly) and eventually put in a maintenance request. This was not the first time the dishwasher suddenly went out. The second time maintenance comes out and I notice a $102.93 increase in my rent for this month. According to Keystone realty office (and my lease) I should have known that there was no issue and I will consequently be charged for maintenance literally resetting the breaker box. Didn’t know I should’ve had my maintenance certifications before moving here. Good to know! Never have I been charged “maintenance fees”. Anyways, heed my advice, do yourself a favor and rent elsewhere!

Keystone Realty & Management
Keystone Realty & Management

Ms. Askew,
We do apologize for the inspection frequency unfortunately that is out of our hands as these were required inspections. Our office worked diligently to provide ample notice of any and/all inspections with at least a 24 hour notice as required by the lease agreement. Our maintenance coordinators are trained to provide troubleshooting assistance in order to avoid trip charges that could be incurred if a vendor is sent to a property to reset a breaker/outlet/or switch. Our hope is to provide excellence service.

Fantastic experience: Melissa Crabtree was extremely helpful in finding a place to live. When my original list of houses did not make the city, she did not hesitate to devote more time out of the day, to look up and visit numerous more residences. She was very knowledgeable of the neighborhoods and was a pleasure to work with!

Negative experience: Cali Crabtree, Heather, and the rest of their team are very rude and unprofessional. My experience with them has made my family not want to do business with Keystone Realty. I called on a Friday evening to verify that there were no applicants for the home I applied for prior to applying for it. It was the perfect home for my family and had just been posted. I followed up on Monday with a phone call at 9:00 am when the company opened. I was told since it was the weekend, my application had not been reviewed and that it would take 24-48 hours. I knew that was valid but I wanted them to know that I was very interested in the property. They assured me that I was still the ONLY applicant for the property and not to worry. That gave me peace of mind because I had been searching all over for a home in that school district. Tuesday came and I still heard nothing back. I called the company Tuesday about 4:30 because closing time was 5 I believe. I was told that my application had been reviewed and everything had come back great. The only thing they were waiting on was the rental verification from my current landlord.(They usually get these back the same day or early the next morning, depending on what time it’s requested). At that point, I felt so relieved because I know that I maintain a great rental history and that meant the rental home mine, right? Wrong! They called me back about 9:30 the next morning (Wednesday) to tell me that everything had been approved, BUT that property had been rented by someone who applied that Tuesday. Then proceeded to tell me that my rental verification didn’t come back before the other prospective tenant’s. Keep in mind, I called to follow up Tuesday 30 minutes before closing and was not told that there had been another applicant that had been approved. This made me livid. My family has been terribly inconvenienced because of this. I tried to talk to Cali Crabtree about this, but was told she was out sick and they didn’t know when she would be back. I have yet to receive a call back from her. I was told to look for other homes on the website as they update daily. I have looked day and night and nothing has been uploaded in the district that I need. I completely understand first come first serve! That’s why I don’t understand how is it fair that I applied days before the other person and the home got snatched away from my family. I hope something can be done about this. From the looks of other online reviews, you guys have the wrong group of employees in office! I was highly disappointed is the service I received! Note: To add to this we was told verification takes 24-48 hours . The same day they called us back to inform us the house was no longer available, they also informed that the person that had applied after us had got verified within 2-3 hours the same day they placed their application. We ask how was that possible and Heather smartly replied "Idk you need to contact their third party company" to figure that out ourselves. From every rental place we have used we was informed again "first come first serve " and they communicated with us letting us know if an applicate was before us or not .. and if someone was. That if they are not approved then it rolls over to us but if they are approved they have 24 hours to pay deposit before moving to the next applicant. As far as rental verification we contacted our rental agency they said it wasn't anything they could do to speed the process up they have to wait on the new agency to send request form. If I knew things would be handle like that we wouldn't have wasted our time . We only applied because we was 1st now I wish we could have our application fee reimburse. STAY AWAY PLEASE !! UPDATE: In response to your reply about rules being followed thats a bold LIE. ITS YOUR JOB TO SAY THAT .. PLEASE STOP AND THE FAKE GOOD REVIEWS AS WELL... I DONT WISH TO DISCUSS BECAUSE BEFORE NOW WHEN SHE TRIED TO DISCUSS OVER THE PHONE YOU GUYS HUNG UP IN HER FACE! .. IM JUST HERE TO BRING AWARENESS I DONT NEED A DISCUSS WITH YOU OR YOUR CREW.

Negative experience: My Downstairs flooded Through my AC vent from a bad thunderstorms in August 2022. It took them two weeks to have someone come out and fix my unit. My son and I had to stay over a friends house because I had no air for two weeks. I noticed that my floors were bubbled from the thunderstorm on surface of the floor afterwards- so I called Keystone and made them aware. They sent someone from a carpet service to do an estimate of the flooring. The guy from the carpet service pulled up the tiles from the floor and told me that I had a “tripping hazard” and that I had a poor installation job initially (Lord forbid if I would’ve fallen and injured myself, right?) Keystone told me that in order for the floors to buckle they would have to be moist for “several weeks,” instead of two weeks. Which in my case, the laminate was soaked for two weeks in August 2022 (90-100 Degree weather- btw) which still caused it to buckle. I never heard from the office afterward and then a year later I had them send the carpet service again and the same thing was said about my flooring. Fast forward to today keystone is trying to make me at fault for the flooring and feels that I should’ve said something about the flooring when I moved in 2021-huh? This has to do with the flooding a year later please stay on task lol they Thought that I was going to move so they could’ve taken it out of my deposit is what’s really going on. I’m so glad I’m with a new Realty company now.

Negative experience: Never rent through this company. They are so petty and overcharge for the slightest things! I would assume this is how they gain and keep $$. Out of all realty companies I’ve been through these are the worst! & Kiss your deposit goodbye because they want you to clean the whole apartment when moving out like a maid! Truly upsetting, makes me want to hire a lawyer.

Negative experience: Cali Crabtree has some of the worst customer service skills. You ask her a question, she refers you to the website instead of just kindly answering the question. This company picks and chooses what they deem as "adverse actions" that have nothing to do with your ability to pay rent.. It shouldn't be this difficult to find a place and yet here they are making it so, especially for a property that's been on Zillow for almost half a year. Stay away. Edit: And it's funny how they responded with more than a few sentences here AND more clear information on a public forum but I got none of this information in the email. Again, terrible customer service, unclear information, and now add unprofessional practices. Again, stay away.

Keystone Realty & Management
Keystone Realty & Management

Good morning, unfortunately the company doesn’t pick or choose adverse actions. Your credit report and background check is run through a 3rd party and if you don’t meet certain criteria then your application is denied and an adverse action letter is generated and emailed to you. It doesn’t matter how long a property is on the market you still have to pass our application process to rent from us and that is with most companies. Good luck with your house search. Have a great day.

Negative experience: By far the worst company I've rented with. MILITARY STAY AWAY!!! Will be black listing them if they're not already. I've put in work order after work order to have my floor fixed, and mold cleaned up. I still haven't had anyone fix the problem it's been over 2 monthes. I have videos and pictures of mold and leaks in my kitchen. TOTALLY FRUSTRATED. MILITARY STAY AWAY. I want to update this post because they went ahead and lied and still charged me nothing they were in the wrong the whole time. Not professional at all. Horrible people I wanted to update on this because they still haven’t kept there word and I still have pictures of negligence Another update on this post! I’m going to start posting pictures because these people are crooks. They lied about charging me for the unsanitary apartment that they moved me into. I’m taking further action and with military because they reported the balance which we agreed on to credit bureau. We agreed no other balance would be paid but of course they didn’t keep their word over the phone. I was also moved out less than five days and wasn’t given a proper eviction.

Negative experience: I loved working with Alison, she made everything a smooth process when we moved from Florida. She was professional, explained everything well and even stayed late one evening to make sure we could receive our keys. I’ve thought long about posting this comment but Heather C. at the front was rude and dressed very inappropriate. I went to pay my rent and she was wearing a tank top (at this establishment!) and must have forgotten to apply deodorant… the smell was overwhelming and was very unpleasant. I hope this was a one time thing. I don’t mean to be hateful, some people just need to learn professionalism. The office was adorable and well maintained and we have enjoyed the week we have been here so far. Also shout out to Cali for being the sweetest and helping with our pet screening!

Fantastic experience: When the devastating torndoes hit Clarksville, TN on December 9, 2023 my family and I were in very unfamiliar territory. We had never experienced anything like that and we had just moved to town a few months earlier. No one even knew our address and our communication was useless. The American Red Cross NEVER CAME and still haven't and it's March. However there were 2 agencies that had our backs from day 1. The first being FEMA and the other being .Keystone Realty and Management. They were the 1st ones checking on us, making arrangements for accomodations for those displaced and they covered the cost. They also worked many long hours trying to get everyone relocated that chose that option or returned security deposits, lowered fees and offered monthly discounts when feasible. They all went above and beyond and we are forever grateful. Negative experience: The properties are beautiful, but realtor didn’t give me any information. The apartments have to approve WiFi provider and contact them on your behalf for service this has taken two weeks. They also add everyone’s water bill together and divvy it out which I was not informed of until after I signed my lease.Christina was a sub par realtor I hated that a fee was added for her watching me look into the apartment and not saying anything to me. When I tried to get a different realtor she said I couldn’t. Unfortunately I didn’t enjoy the process with her.

Fantastic experience: I rented with Keystone the past year and they were super helpful in getting me into a place and always answer the phone if you call. Heather and Christina are very knowledgeable and kind in the leasing office, I definitely had many questions and they were able to always help. I was displaced because of the tornado that happened earlier this December and they were able to give me my deposit back and help me apply for another property. I’m hoping to move back in with Keystone soon. There are a lot of shady real estate companies and bad landlords but I have only had a good experience with Keystone, definitely recommend giving them a shot if you are in the Clarksville area.

Fantastic experience: I'm a resident at Main608 going on my second year at the complex. One of the biggest selling points for me was the fitness facility and I've never had a dull workout. Next, I want to talk about the cost of living. Man, with how simple I try to live my life the price in rent to include most amenities you can't beat especially in today's economy. Oh I forgot to mention, my bed and other furniture/appliances are provided (standing ovation). Lastly, the BIGGEST reason I'm leaving this review is the management. Miss Kristina has been nothing short of a blessing for me during my time at the complex. Any questions/issues that I have she's always there 100% to help. Don't even get me started on her effective smile lol, even when I'm not in a great mood seeing her smile when I come knocking on her office door makes me smile every single time. Huge shoutout to you Miss Kristina and Keystone Realty for making me want to stay at Main608 for many more years to come Lord willing. Negative experience: When I was buying my home I had some unexpected family issues that caused me to leave town. I trusted the team members of keystone and they lied to me. For starters I was told my roof was brand new. It wasn’t it was dry rotted on the backside of the house. Driveway holds floodwater, and the foundation needed to be repaired. The home inspector that keystone referred me to did not capture any of these items in his report. Thus I was left to pay out of pocket because the company representative lied to me. I would not trust them as far as I can see them. In my book they get an F for having the buyer get the best deal!!

Negative experience: I normally am not the type to ever leave reviews even after having bad experiences with certain places, in fact this is my first low star review to ever give out. But when your money and your credit score is on the line, is when I will take the time to warn others. Stay away from this realtor company. From my experience, and other reviewers experiences, it seems as they are being deceitful towards most people who are serious about looking for homes, and are pocketing application fee money. As I do understand that most realty agencies have regulations such as not scheduling viewings for those who request one, UNTIL you have applied, it’s ridiculous that THIS specific agency will KNOW that a property you are interested in is supposedly being “leased” out, will still advertise it, will KNOW that you are willing to apply in order to schedule a viewing to tour that SPECIFIC home you are interested in, YET they will not inform you about it being “leased out” until after you spend (and get approved) over $70 on an application fee. On top of that, before we applied, a woman named Cali Crabtree told my husband that he would be the FIRST to apply and told him that there were no applications for the property. She stated that there was a first come first serve, in which he was the FIRST to apply. They told us it could take a few days for him to get approved. After a few days of waiting for his application to get approved, literally RIGHT AFTER he got approved, is when Cali eventually informed us that the property was unavailable because the “person” that had applied AFTER my husband had applied, had their application approved before his, (my husbands application had also been approved) They stated that my husbands criminal background check took a little longer than the so called other persons background check (not sure why considering my husband is a soldier and does not have a criminal record which had already been approved). It is not right and at the end of the day, HE was convinced by Cali that he came first in line, paid about $70 or more, had his money and credit score ran for the reason HE WAS TOLD by Cali that nobody else had applied therefore they should have put the other persons application on hold until he got his approved because like I said, it’s not my husbands fault that they decided to SUPPOSEDLY take longer on his application vs the next persons. I say supposedly because I am starting to question whether this was a case of discrimination where they did not want us to lease out a nice home due to our ethnic background, or if they just wanted to stack up on application money (or both). This is the second time this happens to us with this company, as we have applied twice overall. We are a military family of 2, currently expecting a baby (I am 35 weeks) and are very serious about finding a home, so to be in a situation like this, has caused me TONS of emotional distress. They have offered us to look at other homes on their website, but after reading the other reviews, I found out that they will pocket most (and sometimes all) of your deposit money as well, regardless of how spotless you leave the place you leased out. That immediately turned me and my husband off, and we decided we won’t continue taking any risks with these people. This agency lacks direct transparency, communication skills, and integrity. We will not continue to work with this agency, and if any funny business somehow ends up continuing to happen, we will make sure to get an attorney involved.

Fantastic experience: I am a current tenant of one of the properties Keystone manages. I cannot tell you how much I appreciate the swift and generous help I have received multiple times from Jennifer and Heather! From basic issues to helping me with fees and insurance. Knowing the property management office is willing to rectify any issues honestly and promptly with a goal to keep tenants happy is so comforting. Thank you guys for even working off the clock to help☺️

Positive experience: This is a warning when you move out make sure you take plenty of pictures! Maintenance charge me a cleaning fee and to be honest with you I stayed over one day in Kentucky to assure that place was clean clean. I also was charged a carpet cleaning fee and that carpet looked at just as new as when I moved in it was as if we hardly ever live there. However the ladies in the office they're cool to deal with. I also had health issues that I had EMS that would come over and they would always compliment me on having one of the cleanest trailers that they've ever seen out there, as well as Oak Grove Police Department they complimented me on how clean and nice my trailer looked. now if I live there clean why would I leave it nasty. I hate when people take advantage of you.

Negative experience: Absolutely do not sign a lease with these people. Their leases are predatory and are extremely unfair and one-sided against the tenant. The property itself was grimy moving in, and some items (trash) from the previous tenant were still there. No move-in check list was provided upon moving in and they will claim damage and cleaning upon moving out, even if everything matched move-in condition. They will try every single thing to not return your safety deposit back.

Negative experience: ✓ Without knowing any better I applied for a property, 1024 York Road through Keystone. Before I could do anything I had to pay the $75 dollar application fee which I did, not a big deal. After two days I was informed I was declined due to “ Adverse Action “. Upon questioning I was told Keystone has four requirements, one criminal background, I am clear on that, two, you must make 3 times the rent, clear on that, I make 4.5 times the rent, three, rental history, good on that, I have been in the same rental property for seven years with no problem, and four, credit score. Apparently I failed that one. When I questioned it it I was told I would have to contact a third party in Pittsburg PA., Keystone can’t be bothered to do their own work ,but they will take their clients and in turn their customers money. They would give me no answer. Does Keystone not understand that our country has been in a crisis for three years ? The COVID pandemic has caused many deaths and problems in our country. First many people died. Second, many people went belly up and lost everything. And third, as in my case, many people fought their way through it, paid their bills, met their obligations, but their credit suffered by doing so. However, from an Ivory Tower ( theirs ) it’s is easy to ignore the people that suffered and did the right thing to make it through the crisis. If I would have done my homework first, I would have never wasted my time with Keystone, after-all their negative reviews are equal to their positive reviews. All this being said I have contacted 3 management companies in Clarksville and every one of them approved me on my background and credit. Don’t waste your time on this company. I have to wonder how the owners of 1024 York road would feel if they knew their house was sitting empty when a perfectly qualified applicant wanted to move in for a long term lease. Looking at the reviews, I am thankful they turned me down.

Mr. Stormer,
We take our reviews very seriously. We utilize a third-party company to process applications. When an application is denied due to credit, our leasing coordinators do not have access to the full credit report. They simply are informed that it did not meet criteria, therefore they refer the applicant to the agency that completes that portion and will be able to share the details of said credit report with applicant.

Negative experience: Keystone Realty & Management will ask you to put down a $200.00 non refundable fee, a pet registration fee, an application fee, and a security deposit worth a months of rent before viewing properties in person. For us, this totaled to $1,850.00 in order to hold the property to tour. Once we toured the property, which was disgusting and included water damage to the floors, we were unsure about moving forward. They assured us that the would do a deep clean of the property, but the lease included wording that we accepted the property as is. We obviously do not. I called to inform them that we would not be moving forward and inquire about how to get the (noted on the form as refundable) security deposit back. I acknowledge that we would not get any of the other money spent back, however the deposit to hold the property was listed as refundable. What they do not tell you is that it is only refundable in their eyes if you sign a lease. When I inquired about the situation and explained that I would be okay waiting 12 months to get my deposit back, like a security deposit, I was told that it would not work. I was very rudely told that, “it was in writing,” and they would not help me based on the situation. It was in writing (though contradicting the print next to deposit which clearly said refundable), so at the end of the day the fault lies with us. If you are considering Keystone Realty & Management, be warned that they will not refund any security deposits put down to hold a property for viewing.
