Fantastic experience: Dan and Meredith were absolutely incredible to work with! They were able to get our home sold after only a few weeks of listing. They do a fantastic job of marketing your home and reach a much wider breadth of clients in comparison to other teams we interviewed. They are available at all times and they communicated with us daily during the closing process. We are so thankful to their team for being so easy to work with!

Negative experience: I had high hopes for Empower based on their strong reviews, but our experience was extremely disappointing. While our home eventually sold for more than neighborhood comps, the entire process was riddled with false expectations and poor communication. From the start, we were given unrealistic promises—an offer within five days or at most three weeks. In reality, it took over a month to receive our first offer, which ultimately fell through. We then had to lower our price by $25,000, which we accepted based on their marketing strategy. Yet, even after weeks on the market, we received no other offers, leaving us frustrated due to: 1) **Misleading expectations**—We were told to expect a full-price offer quickly, which never happened. 2) **Lack of communication**—We had to constantly follow up with our agent instead of receiving proactive updates. 3) **Ignored concerns**—We flagged a foundation issue before listing but were reassured it wasn’t a problem. Later, it became a major obstacle. When I voiced my concerns, our agent promised better communication, which improved slightly. However, during closing, we encountered more issues, including delays that our agent failed to inform us about until we asked. We were even offered a reduction in agent fees due to these problems, but it was never reflected in the final paperwork. Overall, I regret choosing Empower. While their marketing is impressive, we needed an agent who would set realistic expectations, communicate effectively, and ensure accuracy in the paperwork. Unfortunately, they failed us in all those areas. I cannot recommend them.

Fantastic experience: Jared is awesome. Helpful, professional while making the entire process a lot less stressful and even fun. We looked and many houses with Jared and he went above and beyond to help us get the best possible deal. He went on vacation and I couldn’t stop him from working in the background. His communication, interest and customer service are on another level!! We just moved into our new home and Jared checked to see if all went well! Negative experience: Sheri Stromp is incredibly unprofessional. She requested an hour-long private showing for our occupied home over the weekend from 1:45-2:45. We had this appointment confirmed with her since Wednesday. My husband and I spent 2 hours cleaning the home prior to Sheri's appointment. We also have two dogs that we have to remove from the home. 20 minutes after the showing started, Sheri still had not arrived with her buyers. I had to call my realtor to attempt to get ahold of Sheri to let us know if she was running late. It went to voicemail. At 2:48 pm (after the hour-long showing time had already ended), Sheri finally sent a cancellation text saying her buyers were no longer interested. She did not even have the decency to notify our realtor that they would not be coming so that we didn't have to waste our Saturday preparing for her. She knew the home was occupied, and she still decided it would be appropriate to no call/no show for an hour-long appointment. I will make sure to leave every review I can for her. You really need to retrain her on the proper etiquette of communication. This should be realtor 101 to communicate to the sellers when you want to cancel an appointment, and you certainly do not wait until after the showing time has ended to do so, especially when the home is occupied. Please also note, we will not allow Sheri to show our home to any other prospective buyers.

Fantastic experience: I recently had the pleasure of working with Dylan Palmer. He was the listing agent on the home that a veteran client & spouse we were working with had contracted to purchase. The veteran & their spouse were moving to Texas from out of state to be closer to their family. Tragically, during the process of the purchase the veteran’s spouse, who was also a borrower, passed away. This resulted in financing needing to be restructured. In a lot of cases the seller & listing agent would have said lets just void the contract. Dylan didn’t do that. He remained calm and worked with us to see this purchase transaction through to closing, keeping his seller calm and on board with what was a challenging process for all parties. I’m a licensed lender in 40 states and have been originating for almost 23 years. I work with a lot of agents. Dylan was a real pro in a difficult situation.

Fantastic experience: It’s the age old dilemma when selling your home. Who do you choose. Who would have our best interest at heart. Who has the best marketing platform and resources to market your home. Who indeed. Caught in the dizzying world of real estate advertising, one stood out - Dan Harker. Their advertising slogan - we have the buyers - peaked our interest and we set up a meeting with their agent, Stephen. The day of our appointment, we opened the door to see the epitome of a modern day cowboy minus the hat. His broad smile, firm handshake, and polished boots reflected his Texas roots. He went into great detail of their platform, marketing campaign, and of how professional photos were taken. At the end of two hours we signed a contract. Before the photographer came out, I was instructed to make our home look like a model home, which I did. As we viewed homes to buy, there was no mistaking the stunning difference between ours and other homes. When viewing our home you could see the space and envision yourself there. Twilight photos were just as stunning as day photos. The majority of homes we viewed had cluttered countertops, rooms, and shades drawn so no there was no light in the rooms, resulting in a hard pass. Stephen always returned our texts and calls, and was patient with us during this process. During negotiations he made good recommendations and we sold our home quickly. It set a record price for the City of Sachse. He is the only real estate agent I would recommend and we interviewed many. He knows real estate and there is never too trivial of a question that he won’t answer. For us he is in the top echelon of real estate agents. We trusted him and are thankful that we chose he to sell our home.

Fantastic experience: We referred our daughter & son in law to Andrew Burns. We trusted him to guide and educated our kids through their 1st home buying experience. He was just what they needed. He committed the time to offer them choices and tought them what to look for and what to avoid. Andrew showed strong ethics in the transaction adding to our confidence. Andrew sets a high bar and I can highly recommend him to others.

Negative experience: Dan Harker believes that YOU are responsible for cleaning up HIS trash. He held an open house in our neighborhood, and, weeks later, he still hasn’t cleaned up the signs he put down. Apparently that’s your job, not his. Don’t give your money to a guy like Dan Harker. There are plenty of realtors in DFW who won’t deliberately trash your neighborhood.

Initially, we were assigned a listing agent who, without any prior notice, dropped out right before our home was scheduled to go live. This abrupt change left us scrambling and bewildered. We had no communication from the original agent about this switch, which was both unprofessional and concerning. The new agent, while extremely nice and more experienced, could not salvage the situation. After our home went live, we saw virtually no foot traffic. It became clear that their marketing efforts were ineffective. Despite assurances of a robust marketing strategy, the promised promotion and visibility for our property did not materialize. We felt our home was lost in the shuffle, and the lack of interest was disheartening. This experience turned out to be a significant learning curve, but also a frustrating waste of time and resources. Based on this experience, we cannot recommend Empower Home Team DFW. The abrupt agent change and the ineffective marketing approach were major issues that left us feeling unsupported and disappointed. I doubt we will ever consider them in the future.

During our interview process, I informed her that our house had been on the market for over 200 days before we took it off the market.
