Negative experience: March 7, 2026 (update) Since I did this post, so much has happened. One thing for sure, my mother said, you did a video on this apartment when you walked it, and showed it to me. The walls, floors, bathroom were nice, which is why you selected it. Where is that video? How you go from that to all of this the first day you move in? WHEN AN AGENT ASK YOU TO WALK A UNIT AGAIN. DO NOT THINK ITS STRANGE! YOU WALK IT BEFORE YOU SIGN! I WILL BE WALKING MY NEXT UNIT BEFORE SIGNING! The pictures below are what the apartment looked like when I moved in. The video shows the apartment as if it was remodeled! Unsure what happened but, the first day, the garage door couldn’t close twice bc of a sensor, the entire apartment smelled of mold from the outside drain, they fixed that immediately. The tub was clogged, so imagine moving in wanting to take a shower the first night, and dirty water and bugs are coming out the drain. Outlets were not working, ants everywhere, and the cheap caulking came off the tub when I showered. My first water leak was under the bathroom sink, and above my daughter’s play area. There were 3 water stain leaks in the front! Then imagine the property manager saying, “Let me help you with this unit!” Lord; all of the ungodly names going through my mind! That one statement changed our relationship, we have never been cool since! WHAT IN GODS NAME? No, “Miss Coleman, I apologize for all this happening on your first day moving in. I will get make-ready and contractors out to fix these issue immediately. If you could HELP US by listing the things needing repair, we will get right on it!” Nope, I got let me help you like I caused all of this! However, this is not the worse experience. The property manager who started spreading lies, she is obsessed because, they had to redo their entire unit! I got a new bathroom, and plumbing in the walls, new fridge, reinstall new washer/dryer hookups. They had a fight with Conns on who was responsible. New floors and the neighbors told on the office. All the agents quit and they told everything. That is why, you can’t fire people who know where the bones are buried. My next complex, I would have to share my obsessive property manager story! Perhaps had I shared it with La Costa before they got to them, then…No, you should treat people nice in-spite of what you hear. FEB 2026 OLD POST There are things I love, neighborhood, garage, kids playing, and grounds. There are a lot of things I despise! MANAGEMENT IS THE WORSE! At first, I was like intentional sabotage! Maddy definitely misrepresented the second walkthrough the day of my move-in. “Miss Coleman, this is Maddie from La Costa, I walked your unit and it’s ready to move-in!” It was not the same weeks prior. It rained 3 days in a row! All I smelled was drain, the floors were dirty and dry. Paint stains and chip paint everywhere. The lining of the tub caulking peeled, tub was clogged, the carpet smelled, the hot water only lasted for 8 minutes. It was a horrible mess. The movers were like, “Miss Coleman, we need to leave everything in the garage, this unit needs work.” Instead of living and enjoying, I been fixing things more than once. After careful consideration, Maddy did ask me to walk the unit again before moving-in. Had I, I would probably be living elsewhere! You live and learn! Raised in a two parent household, I am not use to ghetto fixtures. In addition, I am OCD which brings about perfectionism. Everything has to be done right! Maintenance are nice, but their work does not meet my standard of OCD! You do not have to have a disorder to understand what right and wrong! HAD I HIT REVIEW AND THEN, LOWEST! FOR 11 YEARS THIS PROPERTY HAS BEEN POORLY MANAGED. WISH I COULD PUT THE REVIEWS IN ORDER. EVERYTHING EXPERIENCED OTHERS HAVE ALSO INDULGED! DO NOT THINK YOU ARE WRONG FOR VOICING YOUR OPINION! My suggestion is new management and staff. They need to fix things right or will continue to have one year residents and bad reviews! LOTS OF VACANCIES FOR A REASON!

Fantastic experience: Marlon (Jimenez) came by to check what I think is a short on the patio light fixture. He initially thought the bulb was this issue. It continue to do the flickering a few days later. I put in another maintenance request and today he came back to change the fixture. He is a kind man. Always pleasant. 2/10/26 Marlon is back to take a looo at something for me. He is such a kind man. Always attempting to make things well in my unit.

Positive experience: I stayed in building 39 for 15 months. Here’s an honest review of apartment 3926 Pros- •Maddy at the leasing office worked very efficiently and made our move in super quick and easy. •Top notch maintenance Cons- •building 39 is at spring creek. My apartment was right next to the super noisy road. I had 2 bedrooms and both were extremely noisy. •floor in the apartment creaks horribly. •AC in my apartment was terrible, like the air coming out from the vent with that pressure made a terrible noise. Maintenance team said its because of the motor and can’t be fixed. So the guest bedroom and living room had this disturbance and the master bedroom had continuous traffic noise. Basically no single area in the entire apartment to enjoy some peace and relax. •Children playing in the driveways are a complete nuisance. Go for a walk in the evening and you will see groups of children at every turn. They are loud, playing with ball which is hitting people’s cars and garages, and running in the driveways. Unbothered parents are standing right next to them and encouraging this crap! I walk my infant in the evening and these kids just happen to throw balls randomly. It has hit my baby’s stroller 3 times. Honestly, I have to change my route multiple times so that I can walk safely and peacefully. •Pool is open for a very very limited time. •I was charged 140$ for bath tub resurfacing. It looked exactly the way when we moved in but its hard to prove anything so I can still accept the charges. However, for very clean carpets they charged 120$ for cleaning. Now that’s ridiculous! I am not complaining, just whoever decides to move into apartment 3926, please check the master bath tub should be as good as new and the carpets should be spotless! If not, you know what it means. Edit- no one told me about how noisy the apartment was going to be. I wouldn’t have moved in if I had known.
Negative experience: If I could give this apartment complex 0 stars, I absolutely would. Unfortunately, I am still living here. I originally lived in Building 18 and later moved to Building 2 for a larger space, hoping things would improve. Sadly, that decision is something I deeply regret. The cockroach problem is unbearable. It started in Building 18 and continues here in Building 2. I tried to give this place another chance by moving, but nothing changed. After a maintenance worker came to fix a noise issue, I even started noticing cockroaches coming out of the bathroom ventilation opening. There are also cockroaches in the kitchen, and I honestly do not know where they are coming from. I currently have a baby who is crawling, and the thought of cockroaches in the apartment makes me extremely anxious. I cannot stop thinking about my child’s safety, and no parent should have to live with this constant worry. The AC/Heater noise is extremely loud and disturbing. It is so bad that you cannot hear someone knocking on the door. The kitchen literally shakes from the noise, and the bathroom exhaust sounds like a helicopter. You cannot hear if someone is calling you from another room. The floors are uneven, which causes the toilet seat to be tilted and the kitchen counters to be slanted. The windows are very old, and cold air constantly comes inside, making the apartment uncomfortable. When I first contacted management about the AC/Heater noise, I was told that the building is old and that nothing could be fixed. That is not my problem. When my husband and I viewed the apartment, no one informed us about this unbearable noise. The second time, a maintenance worker came and temporarily reduced the noise for a few hours, but it quickly returned. On top of everything, the garage door makes a very disturbing noise when opening and closing, and I have even found lizards in my garage. This place has caused me nothing but stress and regret. I strongly do NOT recommend anyone to move here. If you are considering living here, think a million times before you do.

Fantastic experience: I had a maintenance request for an issue with my HVAC heater, and the experience was excellent. The team responded to my request immediately, which I really appreciated. Marlon Jimenez from the maintenance team did a superb job fixing the heater. He was professional, efficient, and clearly knew what he was doing. What stood out the most was the thoughtfulness—while the heater was being fixed, they even provided a space heater for me to use in the meantime, ensuring I stayed comfortable. Fantastic experience: We have lived here for almost three years, and the experience has been excellent. The apartment is spacious, well-maintained, and remarkably clean. The community is filled with beautiful greenery and play areas for children to enjoy. All major stores including H-E-B, Walmart, Patel Brothers, and others—are conveniently located nearby. Indoor recreational center carpenter park is nearby too. The support technician has also been responsive, supportive, and efficient in resolving issues on time.

Negative experience: Terrible maintenance service. They always took too long to respond and never fixed things properly. The bathtub faucet was leaking and was never repaired, even when we moved out of the apartment.

Negative experience: I am changing my rating from 4 to 1 due to large experience i an facing with multiple issues. There is no response even after submitting a WO for 10 days . Lot of roaches even after completing pest treatment for 2 times. Overall a pathetic service and experience
Negative experience: Extremely Disappointed – Not Worth the Price After a full year of living here, I renewed my lease only to face a rent increase that now matches what I could be paying for a much nicer, more problem-free apartment. From day one, it’s been a frustrating experience. When we first moved in, the dishwasher was full of mold. Since then, we’ve had ongoing plumbing issues — the kitchen and bathroom sinks frequently clog and even flood into the cabinets. The bug problem is out of control. Despite multiple visits from pest control, the cockroach infestation persists, and we’ve also dealt with wasps inside the unit. During the rainy months, our carpet became soaked and moldy, requiring removal. The vinyl flooring is extremely cheap and damages easily; when I reached out to the office for help repairing a small section, I was charged nearly $300. It’s clear that corners are being cut on both maintenance and materials. This list is far from exhaustive — there have been countless other issues that made living here incredibly stressful. As my first apartment in the Dallas area, this experience has been deeply disappointing, and I’m counting down the days until my lease ends. The one positive thing I can say is that the staff have always been friendly and polite. Unfortunately, that doesn’t make up for the overwhelming number of problems.
Positive experience: I have been a resident of La Costa since January 2025. My first interactions were with the office manager - Leydi Rivera - who showed me around the apartment complex, followed up with me on a few site visits and finally walked me through the unit that we were going to lease and currently live in. Unlike other apartment complexes in the area where the commercial terms are shrouded in secrecy (because, they want to push idle inventory that gets them the maximum rent), Leydi showed me all the available options with prevailing rates at that time in an absolutely transparent manner. That’s what gave me the confidence to sign up for a long term lease. Leydi and her team of service specialists Mallory and Madi are exceptional, consistently helpful, always accessible! They go out of their ways to make sure that concerns if any, are expeditiously addressed. Maintenance team led by Craig are fantastic! Kudos! I recommend La Costa on Ohio Dr if any one is considering moving into Plano without any reservations. PS: the star they lose is for the exorbitant water charges. For a perspective, it matches my electricity bill per month which is around $130 so far.
Negative experience: I recently changed my rating from 5 to 1. I’m both a current and former resident — I moved out and returned after a few years primarily because of the lower rent. But here’s the reality: forget your deposit — you’ll likely be charged two to three times that amount at move-out, which can total nearly a full month’s rent. Unfortunately, even as a current loyal resident, there were no offers or benefits during lease transfers or extensions — no discounted rent, no transfer concessions, and no price adjustments. After my recent unit transfer, I also faced unexpected post-inspection charges. Nearby apartments are far more transparent — they include a standard $100 cleaning fee in the lease, making move-outs stress-free. In contrast, this complex often claims they’ll replace items, but once you move in, many are still old or even broken — I experienced this firsthand in my new unit. I’ve referred a couple of families here in the past, but now I’ve redirected one to a nearby apartment and advised two others not to move in. Other communities are clear and fair: they don’t charge for normal wear and tear like dust or minor paint scuffs — only for actual damage, like a cracked glass cooktop. If you're planning a long-term stay (5+ years), it might work. But if you're staying short-term, expect hefty and vague move-out charges that cancel out any rent savings. Bottom line: Don’t choose this complex just based on the listed rent — the hidden costs and post-move stress simply aren’t worth it.
Negative experience: Someone People living here don’t stop at the stop sing and a lot of crash near. PLUS they don’t want to invest on the pool and they won’t even open the pool this summer how is that a good place to live? Plus BUGSSS a LOT OF BUGS

Negative experience: Updated April 2025 In February 2025, I discovered visible mold in my HVAC system. Maintenance spray-painted over it without proper cleaning — I have video proof. The vents were still wet with mold clearly visible. I had to pay $669.91 out of pocket for professional mold testing. Results showed dangerously high airborne mold: • Aspergillus/Penicillium: 3,400 s/m³ (10x outdoor levels) • “HEAVY debris field” = unsafe air per the lab I couldn’t sleep in the unit after Feb 19 due to headaches, fatigue, and respiratory issues — I had to wear an N95 mask just to enter my own home. Despite all this, management refused to reimburse me for the testing or any damages, even though they admitted fault by approving the lease break. Negligent Move-Out Handling & Charges After jumping through hoops to end my lease, I received a refund check with no explanation. When I followed up, management responded rudely, saying the breakdown "should’ve been in the envelope." (It wasn’t.) I later found they charged me for things like “Heavy Animal Odor” ($69) — despite the fact that the unit had an ongoing mold issue that produces odor on its own — and $15 to clean a toilet I left spotless (with move-out photos to prove it). They’re trying to blame normal wear and tear on tenants, while ignoring real health hazards. Poor Conditions & Shifting Blame While I suffered from mold exposure, management focused on cosmetic upgrades like repainting garage doors and adding fire extinguishers, rather than fixing the decaying interiors. Walls have peeling paint from years of patching over damage There's a gnat infestation, moisture problems, and old, failing fixtures The building is from 1990, and it shows After replacing garage doors, they emailed tenants threatening to tow cars at tenant expense for parking violations, instead of managing parking or enforcing policy with fairness. They also falsely accused me of changing my own locks. A leasing agent came out and discovered their own key copies didn’t work — even the new ones didn’t. Their records were wrong, but they tried to blame me first. Other Red Flags: • Repeated overcharges for normal wear and tear – a pattern across reviews • Security issue: a stranger entered the gym, and management responded with a blame-the-tenant crime watch meeting — no added security or lock changes • Application process flagged false info via RentGrow, which I had to correct myself
Negative experience: I truly wish I could give this place negative stars. This was one of the worst living situations I have ever experienced. 1. Bugs, Bugs, Bugs. From giant cockroaches to gnats and ants at virtually all time of the year this place is infested with bugs. 2. Ridiculous move-out charges. Falls in line with every negative review you will see about this place. 3. Overpriced for a complex built in 1990. While the appearance from outside might look decent, trust every negative review you see. These apartments are terrible and falling apart. You will hear the upstairs neighbor turn his water on from simple talking. It’s not even people are yelling, the walls are just that thin. The only saving grace were the employees and the location. The maintenance crew were always nice despite the property they were trying to take care. I remember countless times talking to the maintenance man when he was over fixing items and him explaining his frustrations. When the maintenance crew thinks the place is crap that’s probably a pretty good sign to get out. I hate writing reviews but If I can save anyone from the terrible living experience I have had here it is worth it.
Fantastic experience: I highly recommend this apartment! The convenient location and flexible short-term lease options, including the ability to do a 3-month lease, make it an excellent choice. The management team is professional, responsive, and always helpful. My experience here has truly been 5-star—two thumbs up!
Negative experience: This apartment complex has mold as well as an infestation of different types of bugs from small gnats, flies, moths, and bees. Submitting a work order request does NOT do any good due to the fact 80% of the staff labeled as maintenance are VERY incompetent. I sat with out air conditioning for 4 days during July the summer of 2020. I was given a portable unit that did NOT cool the apartment below 90°. I called the emergency contact number once again after 24 hours I informed them that my apartment was NOT cooling would it be possible to get another portable AC. I was informed they only have 2 portable AC’s on site the other one is for emergency type situations. I let them know that 105° weather outside and 90° inside is an emergency type of situation. LONG STORY SHORT PLEASE SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY! LOOK ELSEWHERE!!! Management threatened to call the police on me due to filing a frustrated complaint over the phone the day I turned the keys in (March 1, 2021), I was informed to just leave them inside of the apartment. They would inspect it at a later date. I forgot to mention there are vehicles blocking EVERY fire lane in that complex if a fire truck or ambulance had to get through..... it could be a huge mess, there is ALWAYS bags of trash laying around outside as well as shopping carts, vehicles with loud engines running through the complex at all hours of the day and night, the garage doors are terribly loud due to poor maintenance , dogs barking ALL the time (IF you are a dog owner.....expect your dog to react if surrounded by other dogs barking NON STOP) This complex is a NIGHTMARE! Living there gave me the motivation to stop renting and purchase a home which is what i did. It took hard work as well as A LOT of praying to higher power. I ONLY write this review to save other families out there the time and money as well as the headache of what I had to observe and go through. Management is TERRIBLY rude and that trickles down to the staff they have employed. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPLEX! UPDATE!!! AS OF 09-19-2023 THIS COMPLEX CHARGED ME WITH A BOGUS $781.90 CLEAN UP FEE, I NEVER SAW A SINGLE BILL COME IN THE MAIL UNTIL TODAY 10-05-2023 THIS COMPLEX REPORTED ME TO A RECOVERY COLLECTIONS AGENCY… I HAVE A WITNESS AS WELL AS PICTURES TO BACK MY CLAIM UP, I AM CONTACTING MY LAWYERS OFFICE FIRST THING IN THE MORNING! I MOVED OUT OVER 2 YEARS AGO, THIS APARTMENT COMPLEX HAS BEEN NOTHING BUT MENTAL ANGUISH, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE AVOID THIS PLACE. MISTY IS A TERRIBLE COMPLEX MANAGER, SHE WAS THERE WHEN I RESIDED AT THE COMPLEX… SEE YA’LL IN COURT!!

Negative experience: I've lived at La Costa for over 5 yrs and I have not had many complaints. The maintenance guys are fast and the trash valet is very consistent. The pools and gym are clean and I love the Amazon hub for package pick up and EV charging stations. The community is great for families and quiet enough for singles. Update: I recently moved to a different unit and this is about the worst move I've ever had. I normally didn't have to talk to the leasing office for anything but now that I've moved it's been horrible. The unit I moved into just wasn't ready to be lived in. There has been a laundry list of problems since I've moved in (almost a month ago) and they are dragging their feet about fixing them. Then wanting to keep my security deposit from my previous unit for minor things but cant fix this new unit. This is not the same maintenance dept that I bragged about several months ago. Not sure what happened but I'm ready to go ASAP! If I could break this lease and RUN I would with the quickness. Please save yourself the headache and look elsewhere as I wish I would have.
Negative experience: Updated on 11/22/2024 When i moved to this apartment, there were many flaws and i saw several negative feedback. But based on how one of the agents managed to take care of most of the issues, i decided to give 4 stsrs. I moved out of this apartment last month and now i see what they really do to their tenants. Misty (leasing manager) is so rude after you move out. They will never give you your deposit back. I reported some of the issues when move in through email. Even sfter providing her all the email proof, she still decided to charge me $1160 just for kitchen counter top and bath stub stains. Yet they were there when i moved in. These people are so good at giving reasons and they will never accept it no matter what. I regret for leasing in this property. Will never ever return to this property, under any circumstance. Please DO NOT EVER RENT OUT THIS PROPERTY. ----------------------------- READ THIS IF YOU WANNA KNOW EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS APARTMENT. I gave it 4 stars coz there are cons that I cannot give it a 5. If not some of the pros I've listed below, I would simply give it a 2 star. Firstly I wanna say that I saw plenty of reviews about cars being towed, the leasing manager is not good, the leasing staff is not good, garbage, and many other issues I've not mentioned below. I honestly have not seen them and I never needed to talk to the leasing manager. Why would I? I don't report to her or work for La Costa. If my apartment is in good shape, why would I bother the leasing staff? Pros: 1. Good amount of place outside for kids to play. They are not dedicated play areas, yet good for families to watch kids playing with bikes, scooters, etc 2. Every unit has a garage and a small space outside the garage. Some space fits a sedan and some don't. 3. Every building has only 2 floors. Most of the 2 bedroom 2nd floor units are built on top of the garage. So no problems if kids play around. 4. Most importantly, Mikayla at the leasing office was so helpful and awesome. I've never met a leasing agent so helpful to me. I thought it was only until I signed my lease agreement. But no, she's still the same. La Costa should not lose employees like Mikayla. You guys still survive coz of employees like her still work here. 5. Amazon locker, which is great. 6. Trash is taken care of without delays or days being skipped. 7. Moat important, the background verification they do is awesome. I'm a software QA Architect, so I know it. It's not easy to get into this property if you're a bad boy/girl. But if you get into it, I'm sure you're in a safer place than most other apartments. But not 100% guaranteed. Good pricing and many more. Now let's see the Cons: 1. Even though 2 BR units are 1060+ sqft, this number includes the garage. 2. A sedan or a mid-size SUV would fit in, still the garage will be full. You cannot even open the doors fully when inside. 3. Bedrooms and baths are smaller in size. I don't know maybe coz all my previous apartments had large ones. Master BR is good but the other is still smaller. 4. The worst thing I've ever seen in my life is, that some of the units, including mine, have uneven flooring . Trust me, I'm serious. You can see waves on the floor sliding from one point to the other end. But I got used to it in a couple of weeks. 5. Finally when I moved in, there were issues with the kitchen appliances. But I'm glad, everything was taken care of by Mikayla. She personally took extra effort to resolve all these issues, which is why I gave 4 stars. Anyways all these are based on my 2 weeks of stay. I'll update this reviews if anything chages overtime.

Negative experience: This was not the first choice of apartment that I really wanted to be in but I was 8 months pregnant when the father of my kids signed the lease to the office. I had no choice but to stay but let me tell you this , when I moved in and he showed me the unit I was shock how dirty every corner of the unit , not even the blinds or under the sink were clean, at the top of the cabinets were filed of dust accumulated I don’t know how long and I was able to climbed and cleaned four of them when I was 8 months pregnant. For two years living here I got flooded three times ( one was coming from the toilet upstairs the water was pouring out of garage ceiling , kitchen, bathroom and part of my bedroom and none of the office people was there to check but the rude bald maintenance heavy set guy who couldn’t barely answer questions and acted as if he owns the damn place yes damn because I have deal so much crap from rudeness of the heavy set lady in the office who couldn’t barely get up to be nice to all the tenants I don’t care if you’re manager or whoever the hell you are but you are just someone working in this place to be rude and act as if you own the damn place because if it’s not for the tenants you all would have never a job that couldn’t barely take care of maintenance and responding the concerns. Bugs are crawling all over the place and it took them forever to send the pest control. Carpet have been replaced after the overflowing toilet upstairs and gutter leaking that was pouring inside the bedroom door which carpet was soaked for days and days and none of the office people check that but took 8 days for them to send someone to cut the nasty carpet and replaced with the old nasty carpet and just lay it without securing and I have all photos for all of that ! Mold was accumulated and I had to clean it because this people don’t care but taking rent. I have all the photos and I will upload them all! I never liked this apartment to begin with and I was just staying here because I was pregnant and those people in the office they need to stay away from their tenants personal business because someone in this complex crossing that boundaries of minding our business especially if tenants are married and have kids ! Your job is for just making sure the place is livable and you don’t have any business yo get involved to tenants personal business especially if you are married and stop flirting with tenants just to continue renting the place despite they are married and you are married! I will upload the videos that bugs were crawling around the unit and I will upload all the water that was pouring all over the unit and none of these women in the office cared the tenants are going through but minding their personal business and getting involved to tenants personal life !

Fantastic experience: I've lived here since Oct 2020 and the only negative thing I have to say is that the walls are paper thin. A garage for every apartment, plenty of parking spaces, two mailrooms, two pools, a nice fitness center, great location, close access to the Bluebonnet Trail, numerous fast food and ethnic dining options within walking distance, Walmart, HEB and Tom Thumb within a mile, fast attentive maintenance staff. I wish my rent was still $900 like it was when I moved in, but every half-decent apartment complex convenient to Dallas is significantly more expensive than it was.

Negative experience: I got misled by five-star reviews, which were later discovered to be paid for. I had a horrible experience staying in Lacosta and will requests others to stay away from this place. The apartment was not in a livable condition upon move-in. It took 2-3 weeks to make the apartment habitable. I faced Persistent problems with dripping pipes and water leakage besides structural issues. As the leakages are common, 150 minimum dollar water charge is very common. Bathroom and kitchen accessories and other built-in items were decades old. Frequent breakdowns of these outdated fixtures were very common. On top of this management will make you pay around 5000 as move out charges which include charges for structural issues of the building.

Negative experience: Iam a typical person who provide positive reviews on Google but feels compelled to share a negative review due to a particularly bad experience with an apartment complex which I rented - Lacosta apartment Plano run by Westdale Management Background : Moved to Lacosta apartment 6100 Ohio Drive, Plano, based on recommendations(may be due to low rent) way back in 2023 Initial Impressions: Initially thought the apartment and premises were satisfactory .Realized within first week that the apartment was not a good fit for us due to aging infrastructure!!! Maintenance from my side:Maintained the apartment professionally, with no children or pets causing damage. Move-Out Experience Notice Period: Provided proper notice and maintained the apartment well. Final Day: Handed over the keys and was told by Madison that the $200 deposit would be returned within in a week.. I guess that’s a pre recorded announcement she share with everyone :-) Unexpected Bill: Received a bill (move out charge)after 3 weeks for $2,100, charges for carpet and cooktop damages and what not!! :Disputed the charges but received a repetitive response from management, insisting on payment or else they will transfer to collections with a threatening tone!!. Conclusion and Actions:Paid the full amount to avoid further conflict. Future Steps: Plans to share the experience widely to prevent others from falling into the same trap and considers taking legal action against the management to address the grievances.

Negative experience: Lacosta runs contest for sharing 5 star reviews and winner get 50 dollar reward!! Such an innovative tactics to improve the pathetic review score! However I must say that this place is antique and should be preserved by government - Each appartment has kitchen and bathroom amenities that were available in 80's and management is still preserving intact !!. Needles to say, apartment is animal friendly where you can see management feeding stray dogs, cats with trash which are spilled across the premises :

Negative experience: Do not give your money to Westdale asset management company! They only care about how much money they can get out of you. They are charging luxury prices for old poorly managed apartments. They seem to think it's okay to overcrowd apartments all the while taking tax payer government loans to supposedly fix the complex. ($10 million at purchase) You will encounter an ever revolving maintenance staff that is paid poorly and are not capable of fixing issues. I lived with squirrels in my attic every winter. Fought fruit flies spring and summer from the old drains despite keeping my apartment spotless. An air conditioner that ceased working 4 times over 3 1/2 years during the hotest months. I had electrical shorts that never got fixed. Every time maintenance staff entered my apartment they left a mess I had to clean while they never completed the work. Overcrowding has led to piles of extra trash, rats, coyotes and bobcats wandering the complex and a frequently broken trash compactor. Dirty Pool photos were taken this summer on opening day. Single pane windows will have you feeling like you are living in a van during rain and cold conditions. Be sure to Google the five pages of tenants lawsuits against this company. Last August this management company "mistakenly" evicted a tenent in Deep Ellum. They threw all of his and a young daughters stuff in the trash. And because he had not updated his lease that was under his girlfriend's name who had moved out of state they told him to kick rocks without compensation. Do not lease from these people. if you want a luxury apartment go choose one of the brand new complexes in the area.
Fantastic experience: was considering these apartments, but after hearing from a friend who lives there, I changed my mind. My friend mentioned that the maintenance staff is extremely racist and fabricates lies to try to get residents evicted. Even when the manager discovers these lies, nothing is done to correct the situation.

Fantastic experience: Moved in May 22, 2023. Knowing I was to get an upgraded unit, but was super excited finding out I had gotten black appliance with stainless steel. Had an issue and love the way maintenance has contacted me but phone while in the process of completing the work order. My 1 bedroom, 737 square feet apartment is spacious and cozy. Love love the community. Meagan was super fantastic during my application process and still is. Love how her and Maddie(both in the office) knows my name. Gives a warm feeling welcomeness to the community. Always ready to assist.

Negative experience: Please note this property does solicit 5 star reviews through contests and raffles! This review is not from part of a promotion. I moved in last July and the place was IMMEDIATELY infested with huge cockroaches. Management was informed and involved over several weeks but the only thing that helped was the weather cooling down outside. “Move your food, wipe all the cabinets, etc” over and over. Pest control in several times. I woke up to DOZENS of roaches dead on the floor at the peak of this! I threw away hundreds of dollars of food because the roaches ran all over it and sometime IN items. I woke up with roaches on my bed!! When the weather started to warm up again in March they came right back. The glue traps had probably 15-20 of them jammed in there when I cleaned behind the fridge. I was never offered a solution other than “clean the roach poop up to attract fewer” and “well the other tenants are not reporting this”. 9 months of roach anxiety and more and more tossed food. I took very good care of the carpet and was also charged a high amount at move out. Another tenant texted me about an unfair move out charge around the same time I was moving and it seems like this facility is just money hungry. Parking garages are very very narrow and smaller than others in area. Kids in the street all the time, not very safe. And overall the apartment was very shoddy- white paint on everything from cabinet stains to the tiles and tub as a quick fix. Spend an extra $40 next door and save yourself the stress!!

Fantastic experience: La costa is one of the nice community apartments in Plano. I have been living here for almost 1.5 years. 1. The biggest advantage is garage car parking. It saved lots of time and money during hail storms in the recent past. 2. Two pools were so nice and clean. Kids enjoy planning there. 3. Fantastic experience: We recently moved to this community. Closed parking is the biggest plus for this community for the Texas unpredictable weather. Management is really good and listen to the residents problems. Maintenance team addressing the issue quickly. HEB, Walmart and indian stores are nearby is another positive.

Negative experience: Reason why I’m giving this property a 1 start is STRICTLY because of management behavior from Ms Madison. The property is nice there are some ads on facebook which is false sayin the property is cheaper than they are which money isn’t a issue for me when it comes to finding a nice and secure home Ms Madison which who I was working with to find a property and I was supposed to finish my application by a certain day but wasn’t able to due to family and traveling for my work. I was willing to pay whatever it is and even a 3 months in advance for the beautiful homes. But Ms Madison literally stopped helping me. I emailed her several times NO RESPONSE. I called and she got somebody to answer the phone and lie and said she’s not in when I LITERALLY heard her in the background when they first picked up the phone. I’m not sure what Ms Madison age is but it literally has to be under 10. Like I said the property is very nice and on Facebook it says they are starting price is 1,000 when NONE of the units are that price but it wasn’t an issue to me. What the issue is if you the person who I tour the property with and had a conversation with about the property as a customer and possible tenant YOUR THE ONE IM GONNA WANT TO TALK TO DURING THE PROCESS of my application. I honestly don’t know what went wrong but somebody needs to coach and school Madison that just because I wasn’t able to do the application when SHE felt like it doesn’t mean she should stopped helping me. The property is amazing I can just tell that the management isn’t the best AT ALL cause I know PLENTY of people outside of Plano and they all said THAT IS VERY UNPROFESSIONAL.

Fantastic experience: I love living at La Costa! From the moment I came to look at my new apartment, the gals at the leasing office made me feel like family! I knew once I saw the interior, I could envision myself living here and making it my own cozy space. It is so quiet and peaceful here. My neighbors are so friendly and I love having an attached garage right below me. I travel for a living and I always look forward to coming home to my happy place! The location is perfect! 2 blocks away you have H.E.B., Kohls, Starbucks, lots of restaurants and only 10 minutes away from Legacy West and 15 minutes from Grandscape! So close to where all the fun and action is while having the peaceful serene place to live right here at La Costa!

Fantastic experience: La Costa is a great place to call home. The office staff is incredible and truly cares about its residents- often going above and beyond to make sure their needs are met. The maintenance staff are skilled and friendly, always getting the job done right. It’s a super quiet complex and the apartments are well insulated- I never hear my neighbors through the walls. The location is in beautiful West Plano in a very safe area and convenient to everything you need. I have lived at La Costa for 3 years now and I absolutely love it here!!
Fantastic experience: Everything is just really good from the friendliness of the staff and their willing to help assist in anyway the can. Also maintenance is really good. Like when you place a work order they get to it pretty quick.

Fantastic experience: It’s been almost a year we are staying in La Costa. I would definitely recommend this place to my friends and family circle. Well maintained houses with quick turnaround assistance from maintenance team whenever required. Closed parking space available for all houses. We will also have extra parking spaces in front of the houses. Cleanly maintained gym and 2 swimming pools. Lot of backyard places for kids and pets to play . And comparatively the best price in this surrounding.

"Disappointing Experience with La Costa Apartments in Plano - Inconsistency and Lack of Transparency" I recently had an incredibly frustrating experience with La Costa Apartments in Plano, Texas, that I feel compelled to share. My initial interactions with the office staff were promising; they presented a welcoming atmosphere, and the community seemed like a perfect fit. However, my application process quickly turned sour due to their inconsistent and, frankly, dishonest handling of lease requirements. Upon expressing my interest in leasing an apartment, I was informed of the need to provide proof of income, specifically an offer letter demonstrating I earned at least three times the rent. As someone who is self-employed, I discussed my situation with the office staff, who then agreed that providing my bank statements would suffice as proof of income. Complying with this request, I provided them access to my bank statements, thinking this would meet their criteria. However, after providing the necessary documentation that clearly met their initial requirements, the office staff changed their demands, stating that I now needed to demonstrate 12 months of consecutive employment and unexpectedly requested my tax returns as further evidence of income. This new requirement, along with the sudden request for tax returns after having access to my bank statements, was never mentioned in our initial discussions, nor is it a standard criterion communicated upfront to potential tenants. It felt like a backdoor way to complicate the leasing process after I had already provided what was initially asked of me. The shift from simply requiring an offer letter or bank statements to demanding tax documentation and employment history without prior notice was not only unprofessional but also seemed dishonest. The experience left me feeling misled and undervalued as a potential tenant. It's disheartening when you're ready to make a commitment based on mutual understanding and trust, only to have the terms change unexpectedly and additional, invasive financial scrutiny applied without justification. I had high hopes for making La Costa Apartments my home, but the inconsistency and apparent dishonesty from the office staff have led me to reconsider. To anyone considering La Costa Apartments, I would advise caution and clarity: ensure every requirement is documented and confirmed before proceeding. It's unfortunate that what should have been a straightforward process was marred by unnecessary complications and a lack of honest communication.
Negative experience: I stated in this Lacosta community for 4.6 years and move out charges are very high (More than 1000$ ). . I stayed USA for more than 10 years and never paid this much amount .They charged below amounts Kitchen counter top replacement -775$ ( I came to this apartment and Counter Top is very old ). They can't reduce the amount and charged fully for small crack). Paint Garage floor -40$ . When ever u are vacating leasing office should paint the Garage floor. I don't know why they are charging). Paint due to wall stains -76.87$ . When ever u are vacating leasing office should paint the wall . I don't know why they are charging . I renewed this same apartment for 2 times and they did only carpet cleaning and never painted on the wall). Resurface tub due to shower mat -125$ . Bath tub is very old when i moved in for this apartment. Totally i paid 1016.87$. Also late fee they charged around 150$ . Better to avoid this community .Now they are increasing rent is more.Move Out charges and Late fee charges are more in Lacosta ,Plano,75024

Fantastic experience: I have consistently experienced the best residential support services of 2 years with La costa apartment. The staff are friendly and helpful… Anytime I have submitted a maintenance request I have received a prompt response. Whether it was changing light bulbs, replacing/removing furniture, or servicing the plumbing and electricity, maintence quickly and thoroughly ensured that I have an optimal living environment. I intend to continue renting from La Costa for the remainder of my years in Plano, and I strongly recommend this apartment to all of the future residents looking for housing.

Positive experience: Pros: Good apartment located in a nice spot where you feel like a hub from where you can easily access most of your shopping needs and commute. Maintanence requests are taken care better. Attached garages with all units. Cons: Renewal rates are higher than market rates. People considering to extend the stay here may have hard time considering the renewal rent hikes.Needs improvement on structural and internal upgrades.
Fantastic experience: My living at La Costa is very good, being new to the place I booked this apartment from Remote, but after a year living there I feel it is one of the best apartment in this area. With the Good rent all apartment will have garage, Very nice Neighbors, Maintenance ppl are awesome ( they usually try and attend the issue ASAP, I remember I called Emergency maintenance at 11PM and the guy reached me in 20 min to fix the problem). Leasing office staff are very nice, specially Madison, She is very nice to address the question. Pros : Pool, Garage, big units, full appliances, location, Cons: no Major concerns

Negative experience: DO NOT LIVE HERE!!! The Managers are worthless and DO NOT care. Everything is about money to them. They go out of their way to purposely tow people’s vehicles. Roach infested!!! Trash all over the place. The managers lack customer service skills and are in the wrong line of work.

Negative experience: Horrible place to live... Worse complex I've ever lived in. They just want $ and will actually tell you that. They constantly change your price on rent and actually get annoyed if you ask for anything to be fixed Rats all over the place along with Food all over the stairs. DON'T LIVE HERE You'd be better off living in a shady hotel in Harry Hines. The mgr and asst mgr are clueless. They Illegally tow vehicles for $ and do not upkeep the property. STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS .

Fantastic experience: Nice well maintained apartments and community. All units come with a garage and extra open parking also available. Easy online payment system. Has pools and gymnasium and a seperate locker hub for Amazon packages. Great location too.
