Negative experience: Melissa can go off herself. To anyone looking into them if you are not married you will be forced to pay double a deposit. She has a horrible I know everything attitude and talks down on you. Do not deal with these people at all.
This is a terrible thing to say about a person. Our staff has to operate under company policies. She was performing her job by explaining a policy that you either did not understand or did not like. If you do not wish to adhere to our policies, you need should keep looking for housing provider. You are not required to conduct business with our company.
In this case, you should find another company who will tolerate treatment of the staff this way. We will not.
Positive experience: Feel like it’s out dated and needs some stuff to be replaced like countertops stickers and paint retouches and also one of the ceiling fans was Warped thank you
I’m sorry you didn’t like the property you toured. Not all of the properties we manage are new, so some features may be dated. However, if you’re looking for something newer, we have many modern properties with stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, and other upgrades.

Fantastic experience: Lone Star Realty and Property Management was first, my property management company for two of my rentals. Then, when I decided to sell one, they became my realtor. In both circumstances, the company excelled. I informed Lone Star in October that I wanted to sell the property, but that I didn't want it to close until the new year. While the Sales team worked to get my home ready for showing and on the market quickly, it was Karen Doerbaum who worked directly with me and kept me informed throughout the entire process. On January 7th, the sale closed and by mid-day on the eighth, my bank account contained the proceeds from the sale. I could not be more pleased with the service and professionalism that I received from Lone Star. I'll be selling another rental property later this year and needless to say, I already have my realtor lined up.

Negative experience: The house was in filthy condition. The refrigerator had mold and mildew, pantry was also dirty, the closet contained live maggot and hair, and the oven had leftover food and hair. Despite knowing a new tenant was moving in, management didn’t have it properly cleaned. When I called, they told me to submit a work order, but no one ever showed up, so I paid for a deep clean myself. They hold tenants to standards they don’t uphold. I strongly recommend thoroughly inspecting the property before applying or moving in, skipping that was our mistake.
Negative experience: I signed a lease a few days ago and I am already disappointed in the professionalism of these individuals, especially Mariah. She spoke to me as if I was a child and insisted that she knew I was at home while I was literally in another city packing my things to move. I get to my new residents to find a non working thermostat and an inoperable refrigerator. They eventually sent maintenance that thankfully resolved the thermostat. However, I am left with no fridge and no way to store my food. Why would the company not ensure the property is ready for move in? Save yourself the trouble and just go somewhere else.
Alexis, we hold our tenants to a specific standard on lease violations. An animal was caught at the property without a pet security deposit being on the application and being paid. You are responsible for who brings animals to your rented property. The work order for the Fridge not cooling was created on Friday afternoon and approval for a new one was given by the owner to purchase a new one Monday morning (today). In order to make major purchases for owners like this, we have to have approval from the property owner.
Negative experience: ***Please read this review before choosing Lone Star Realty!!!*** They make you feel as if they’re doing you a favor by renting to you, yet tenants are treated poorly and unprofessionally. At first, I had to file a report because they didn't hand over the apartment in acceptable condition. I’ve dealt with ongoing water pooling at my apartment entrance for years with no meaningful response or solution. Tenants are often expected to pay out of pocket for repairs that should clearly be handled by the property owner or management. They do not provide a fire extinguisher and appear to rely solely on smoke detectors, showing little concern for tenant safety and physical well-being. They love adding extra charges (rent insurance), and if you don't insist, they won't remove them! They also impose a $100 daily late fee immediately after the third day and follow it with aggressive emails threatening eviction, which feels disrespectful and excessive. Unfortunately, many staff members come across as arrogant and unprofessional, including the manager, whose conduct was especially difficult to deal with. ****I do not recommend Lone Star Realty, unless you want to live regrets for the rest of your contract!!!****

Positive experience: Had a garage door issue With the tension wire became loose, and the guy came out and fixed it in an instant. He was kind, very knowledgeable and fast. Also had the weather script replaced by another gentleman he was also kind and completed the work very quickly. One issue that I did have is that I put in a work order back in October on the 20th and no one showed up and the company did not reach out and let us know anything. That’s the only issue that I’ve had thus far.

Negative experience: If I could put 0 stars I would me and my wife rented through them a few months ago and dealt with Brenda sellers she does not take consideration for tenants who have disabilities and does not follow the proper laws we were in a two story and requested a one story dwelling after my wife had physical complications and she completely disregarded that need and we also had a service dog and she completely disregarded that by telling us we were going to get evicted from the place because of the dog this woman is a terrible agent steer clear of her and this company

Negative experience: DO NOT RENT! These people don’t take emergencies seriously. They argue with you. Tell you that if you don’t check circuit breakers you know nothing about aren’t seated, you’re responsible. They lie and try to make you pay for your own repairs. We tried to co-sign for our son to get an apartment The major hold up was my husbands birth name is James but he goes by Jim and since those names “don’t match” they couldn’t verify who he is. EVERYONE WITH HALF A BRAIN KNOWS JIM IS SHORT FOR JAMES!!! The last time I went in they told me not to come back they would call me. We never heard back from them-SHOCKER!!!

Fantastic experience: I had an amazing experience with Lone Star Realty! From the very beginning, they were super responsive and easy to work with. I sent in my application on Tuesday, September 30, and by Thursday, October 2, I was already approved for my apartment — talk about fast! I especially want to shout out Missy Vandeweert — she was the ABSOLUTE BEST!!! Missy was so sweet, patient, and on top of everything. She went way above and beyond to make sure the process went smoothly and that I had everything I needed. You can tell she really cares about people, not just paperwork. If you’re looking for a team that communicates well and gets things done quickly (while treating you like a person, not a number), I can’t recommend Lone Star Realty — and Missy — enough!

Negative experience: There are plenty of other rental companies besides Lone Star Realty‼️‼️ This realty fails to update you on any incidents in the area. They are money-hungry and don't care about your safety. If anybody rents through this company, get information from the neighbors or people around the area before leasing through them. Veteran

Negative experience: If I could give zero stars, I would. This leasing company is extremely unprofessional and operates in bad faith when it comes to returning security deposits. Despite leaving my unit clean, damage-free, and in better condition than when I moved in, they came up with fabricated “repairs” and bogus cleaning charges to withhold my entire deposit. They are slow to respond during the lease term, but suddenly very quick to send an inflated itemized bill the moment you move out. Communication is evasive, and they refuse to provide receipts or proof of the alleged expenses. Its a deliberate scam to profit from tenants deposits!!!!

If this form isn’t turned in, everything will be considered to be in a clean, safe, and good working condition. We did not receive your form, so any damage repair or cleaning fees listed on the statement we sent to the forwarding address you provided will apply. We are available to answer any questions you may have or provide additional detailed information to you at your convenience. Thank you for allowing us to clarify.
Negative experience: Do not rent from this company. I showed interest in a property and in a few hours the price was changed to more than $250 of the original price classic bait and switch tactic of an un reputable and untrustworthy company. Spend your hard earned money somewhere else there are too many properties out there to give your money to someone who will blind fully steal it from you.

Negative experience: My mom rented a apartment from them they lied made up all these charges kept her deposit and then had the audacity to say she owes them 400 dollars everything was cleaned and they still kept her deposit falsely claiming that they paid someone to clean it and had stuff fixed that was asked maintenance to do when she did request looking for a lawyer now to dispute these charges and get her deposit back please don’t rent from these people they will rob you and take from senior citizens

Negative experience: They will rob you. They seem to habitually charge tenants $1500 no matter what the condition when they move out (according to what i see in the reviews and how they did me). My place was pristine and they added trumped up charges. They're crooks, just like all large companies are. They actually want the place to appear like no one has ever lived in it when you move out otherwise they will rob you blind with repair and inspection fees. It's like a punishment for them having a gap in tenants and they are making you pay for it. They will also charge you for maintenance issues. They will not tell you about their carpet cleaning rule until it's time to sign you lease, which basically obligates you to pay someone to professionally clean their carpet. Absurd Don't give your money to these people. That fancy office is a front for how corrupt they are. Consider yourself warned.

Negative experience: Don’t expect to get your deposit back. These people will find every excuse to keep it. They charged me for “debris in the garbage disposal,” smoke detector batteries, a loose screw on a cabinet, and even claimed the walls needed repainting. On top of that, they charged me an inspection fee twice—even though I used the cleaning company they recommended.
Negative experience: I keep receiving the email to leave the review so I might as well do it. I’ve been renting with them since April of this year and I won’t be renewing my lease next year. Still so many things that have not been fixed since move in. They outsource everything so be prepared to NEVER get your work orders taken care of. It’s really ridiculous for the amount of rent being paid.

I was amazed at how quickly the lease process, including the water, and electricity service was completed in less than four (4 ) hours. Relocating from Nevada to Texas was easier than I thought! Negative experience: I would not recommend this place to lease from. They do not fix anything. When we first moved in I told them about all the damages to the house and everything we noticed that was wrong and they still didn’t fix it but as we move out they want to charge us for all those damages we told them before once we had got the keys. This was a waste and would never recommend them to anyone !!!

Negative experience: Don’t say I didn’t warn you: They will take your entire security deposit and then send you an additional bill with bogus charges to justify it. When I moved out they charged me for replacing a doorknob that I never touched (It was the original doorknob from when I initially moved in), but they didn’t care. They also failed the professional carpet cleaning just so they could charge me again even though I’ve used the same cleaning company for all previous inspections with LoneStar, and every single one of them passed without issue. On top of that, they add every possible fee they could come up with. Whoever is in charge of handling disputes is useless, incompetent, and clearly not interested in helping anyone. They also tried to charge me for damages that were already listed on my move-in condition form. Just go rent somewhere else, that’s all.

Fantastic experience: I have been renting with this company for many years since it was bought out from the previous owner. I personally would like to recognize the excellent level of customer service that comes from the Maintence Department but specifically Melissa Black. She has always been very thorough and responsive and professional and providing satisfaction with any concerns address. I would definitely recommend Lonestar just off my experience with her! She is very professional and always a pleasure!

Negative experience: Property is trash wasn’t best decision. My apartment is infested with American cockroaches. A thorough inspection and extermination wasn't done before I rented out the apartment. What if I was allergic to insects? That would be a major lawsuit just waiting to happen. Insects can also get you sick which you start to develop health problems as a result.
Negative experience: don't rent from them. strung us along thinking we would get a place but it was already rented and they knew it. Charged one of us 50$ to "apply" then sat there knowing it wasn't available then asked me to do the same. we would have lost another 50$ if we didn't catch on as early as we did. straight up legal theft. When we found out they tried pushing a crappy house on us as if that helps. They may scam you so be careful edit: they have multiple issues on BBB website. something about people pooping on their properties and they did very little. just avoid them.
Negative experience: Based on other reviews, be cautious as the property management may withhold your entire deposit and potentially charge additional fees. I resided there for a year, and during inspections, my unit was deemed satisfactory. However, upon move-out, I was charged for missing items that were never present and unnecessary cleaning fees.
Negative experience: I have been renting with this agency for 3 years, paying my rent on time. In July, I received a duplicate charge. They charged me twice. I called the bank and complained. I received the money. Lone Star no longer has it on credit. The agency kept the July amount, which is the only amount I owe. I paid on time, but I received a $25 late fee. Why? I paid my rent on time. Don't worry, call. There's no empathy and they don't listen to you. I received a duplicate charge and you say nothing can be done because it's a late payment charge. Seriously.

Negative experience: The ABSOLUTE WORST RENTAL COMPANY YOU COULD EVER RENT FROM!!!! STAY FAR FAR AWAY FROM THEM. Updated Review of Lone Star Realty I am updating my review to share my recent experience after moving out of a property managed by Lone Star Realty. After my lease ended, I was charged for an entire month’s rent that I had already paid prior to vacating. Despite providing notice and paying all rent as agreed, this charge was added to my final balance. In addition, I was billed for what I consider excessive fees related to normal wear and tear, which under Texas law should not be charged to tenants. When I attempted to dispute these charges, I experienced significant delays and was ultimately sent to collections. This collection has negatively impacted my credit and ability to secure housing, even though I’ve had a perfect rental history for years prior to this incident. I have documentation showing payment of rent and have formally requested an itemized breakdown of all charges. While I am still in the process of resolving this, I feel it’s important for prospective tenants to be aware of the challenges I have faced in trying to get accurate accounting and fair treatment after moving out. If you choose to rent with this company, I strongly recommend keeping thorough records of all payments and communications and being prepared to advocate for yourself should any disputes arise.
Negative experience: Intrusive twice a year inspections inside your townhouse. I lived there 3 years and passed every one of them. Yet they changed me 1500 Bucks moving out for a failed inspection. You can dispute the charges but they decide. Do not do business with these people they are frivolous and make no upgrades but will raise your rent every contract. Wish I could do 0 stars. Now you guys go ahead and tell everyone how awesome you are in a response. Shame on you.

Fantastic experience: I was really concerned when the AC broke down on Monday, so I placed a work order that evening, hoping for a quick resolution. I felt a wave of relief when a technician arrived early on Tuesday to evaluate the issue. It was such a relief to have the AC back up and running by that evening. I know it wasn't classified as an emergency, but I truly appreciate the swift and thoughtful response from the team. It made such a big difference during a warm and uncomfortable time, and I’m incredibly grateful for all the assistance I received. Fantastic experience: Lonestar Realty is a great property management Company and great to work with if you’re renting. They take into consideration real life issue and work with you as much as you work with them. They also are excellent when it comes to fixing the properties if you put in work orders. They make sure items needing to be fixed are contracted out immediately and deal with awesome contractors. I have been living in one of their properties for over 5 years and am truly satisfied with my interactions with them. Negative experience: As the owner of a commercial/apartment complex managed by Lone Star Realty & Property Management, Inc., I am very disappointed with their service. Their management of the property is poor, with significant delays in responding to both minor and major maintenance issues. Additionally, there is a lack of proper verification and follow-up to ensure contractors complete their work satisfactorily. This level of service is unacceptable and does not meet the standards expected for professional property management.

Negative experience: Please read full review! When we moved in the house was dirty, missing lights, some cabinets and the attic had trash left all in it, and lots of things were broken. It took them 3 weeks to get someone out to come look at everything and another week to fix some of it, but not all. Our bedroom door was broken the entire time we lived there. They did not replace the broken fridge and we had to get our own. We were without A/C in severe heat over one summer for a week because they wanted multiple estimates for a replacement. While living there, they jacked up the rent after us living there for a year. We had an attempted to break in and their property was damaged. They attempted to make us pay for it, which we’re not responsible for, with the threat of eviction if we didn’t. The maintenance manager told my husband to commit insurance fraud and say that we accidentally caused it, so that the insurance would pay for it, so they wouldn’t have to. When we moved out, we did everything they asked and they kept half of our deposit saying the house was “dirty”. We deep cleaned the house from top to bottom and left it cleaner than we found it. They would not provide itemized receipts for the charges and they did not explain charges, just said “this charge will stand.” Be prepared for 6 month carpet cleanings, where you have to hire and pay someone to come out and submit an receipt, and 6 month inspections where they come into your home anytime in that scheduled day and take pictures of your home. They rush people in, say they’re here for their military, etc. then they take advantage of people. This company only cares about their wallet, they don’t care about the wellbeing or safety of their residents. I would not even recommend them to someone I hated. Please find a better company.
Fantastic experience: I had a smoke alarm that started chirping at 11:00 at night, and of course I didn't have a new battery to put in it. Rough night for me! I put in a request first thing in the morning and someone was out to take care of the problem for me a few hours later. Due to some issues I have, getting up on a step ladder can sometimes be a little difficult. I appreciated the prompt service action and now have blessed quietness again.

Negative experience: Only giving it a 2 star because the first lady I talked to was an angel but I talked to Brenda today and she told the total opposite of what the first lady laid out about credit requirements. How is does that change less than a week? Honestly, she sounds like she a liar! Stating that credit score is based off the amount of the rent but she is saying words like, "maybe" and it "might be". Huh So I'm telling you I'm interested in renting but you can't give me stable answers about what my score needs to be for a low income area? Yeah, I pass......
Fantastic experience: Been a long time customer. renter for 2 years then moved (PCS) years later moved back to the area and bought a new house. After we moved away again (another PCS) we decided that renting was the best option. Now I'm SELLING... yes they do it all. As an owner; they managed my property to the best I could have possibly expected, really great. Owner friendly, on time, no messy nothing. I definitely recommend them to anyone.

Fantastic experience: Lone Star Realty took over the management of the 8 plex where I am a current tenant several years ago. They take every work order that I have turned in very serious. I am really impressed with entire company. My refrigerator was making a noise and probably not going to last much longer. I had a brand-new replacement within a weeks' time. I don't think you will find a better company to rent from.

Negative experience: My spouse and I recently had to relocate to Killeen due to his job (not military-related). The front office staff was friendly and informative, and the lease process was easy, especially with the convenient online options for completing documents on a computer. However, the major issue was the state of the home, which was filthy. Although they provide a strict move-out cleaning checklist, it was clear that none of those standards were met before our move-in. When I first toured the home, I informed the front desk staff about the cleanliness of the home, and they even noted “Dirty” on the key checkout form. The condition was unacceptable: stained toilets, food remnants in the refrigerator, blackened vents, and MORE. I took over 380 inspection photos to document everything for the eventual move-out. I appreciate that they accommodated us despite our credit challenges, but this doesn’t excuse neglecting the unit’s upkeep. We’ll be hiring professional cleaners before fully moving in and keeping the receipt for future reference. If you’re in a situation, this place might be an option, but be sure to take extensive photos and insist on a thorough cleaning before move-in.
Negative experience: I just called Lone Star Realty, I asked for Kimberly, and I was greeted by Kimberly with a poor attitude even though I was polite. Very unprofessional. I could feel the negative attitude and as I was saying thank you for your time because I knew right away that I didn't want to work with her, she hanged up on me without saying a single word. Thank you.
Positive experience: Checked out one of the apartments off e central Texas Expy. Online it Said available, 3D tour looked perfect, upon actually seeing the unit we were shocked to find the oven in the middle of the dining room with the glass shattered on top of it. It was super hot in the unit. I went to check the thermostat and it said the AC was on set to 70 degrees. I tried moving the temp down a little bit to see if it would kick on and it never did. I checked the breakers and everything was in the "on" position. I checked the closet where the AC box thing is. Lol don't know what it's called. And everything looked fine. When I went back and told the office she acted surprised and said oh the breakers are probably off to keep people from running the AC while it's vacant. I didn't tell her I had already checked the breakers and knew that wasn't the issue. But the fact they have 4 units suddenly coming available and the only one available now has a broken thermostat/AC might mean it's a problem within the apartments. Also, listing an apartment as available when it's clearly not is unprofessional. They clearly don't care about their properties or future tenants.
Positive experience: Great property so far . I haven’t had any issues , work orders do take a very long time and the carpet contractors don’t seem to do the job right the first time . Other than work orders , great property management

Negative experience: One of the worst property management companies I have ever had to live with. They do not take care of their properties, they take over a week or 2 weeks to get any kind of maintenance request done. We had ac and heat issues multiple times while living here for 1.5 years and they never fixed any thing only put temporary fixes when trained ac guys said they units need to be replaced asap. Our fence fell due to the high winds and went onto our neighbors property and it took over 2 months for them to even come and look at it but still did not fix it our neighbor ended up hiring someone to fix it even though it was our fence. They will put things in their contracts but never follow through with them. They are not easy to work with they want you to put everything through the app but when they don’t respond so you try and call or text about it they don’t know what you are talking about and it takes another week to get answers. The main office and the maintenance department do not communicate well with each other. I do not recommend renting any kind of property from this company unless you want countless headaches and live in run down homes that do not met today’s codes with constant issues and no help. Also when “maintenance” comes they are in unmarked personal vehicles which makes you feel uncomfortable because you don’t know if they are some random person or were actually hired and they are extremely unprofessional I once walked in on them doing maintenance when I first moved in and he guy was wearing no shirt and just driving a sedan so I called the police because I thought someone broke in. 100% do not recommend this company to lease through or have maintenance done through.
