Fantastic experience: Holy cow. This was EXACTLY what we wanted. My husband and I are very self-sufficient people - we knew what we wanted, what would work, etc. We wanted to work with someone who would not breathe down our necks, who respected that we were the experts on our own needs, but who also would help us where our knowledge failed (ie finalizing offers, negotiations, etc). Negative experience: Their Seattle area broker Cyndy Stewart is the worst agent I've ever interacted with. She only likes brainless overbidders who bring her easy cash. She ghosts you the second she realizes you aren't one. Terrible company with their stupid website that doesn't even have a working search bar. what a joke. not worth the couple thousand in rebate you think you are saving with them

Fantastic experience: We used Prevu to purchase an apartment in Manhattan this spring and we could not be more pleased with our choice. Fantastic experience: We had a fantastic experience with Prevu over a period of years (!) of looking before eventually purchasing. It is honestly much more effective to have a highly competent remote broker setting up viewings/offers/applications etc, as opposed to an incompetent warm body that follows you around to viewings. Our agent, Prakash, was very helpful with the complex NYC co-op application process, and coordinating with the seller. The rebate is the cherry on top of the whole Prevu model, highly recommended.

Fantastic experience: We just closed out a fantastic experience with Prevu. We bought a sponsor unit in Brooklyn, which was confusing to start. Macie was awesome and educated us on the differences in a sponsor unit, and guided us the entire way. Further she had us negotiate for more (successfully), helped us pointing out flaws during final walk through that we were able to get fixed, and negotiated a higher percentage for Prevue which significantly raised our rebate. We will 100% work with Prevu again in the future when needed.

Fantastic experience: Prevu was the perfect group to work with and I’m recommending them to anyone and everyone looking to buy a home. Most traditional realtors we talked to about Prevu were not excited about the 1% rebate, but they also couldn’t compete with it. Some details about our experience specifically: we were fortunate to land jobs in a nice place in California, but the cost of living is quite high. But this is where Prevu’s 1% rebate works best (since there are reasonable restrictions when the nominal commission is low). Like many buyers I know, paying so much commission just because the house is more expensive doesn’t sit well. I searched around, came across Prevu, reached out since they weren’t officially in the area we were buying. A few hours later a call was set up to get the search process started. And the 1% rebate was brushed over since it’s so simple. In terms of looking at homes, we were comfortable with the area in general and were happy to do our search primarily through open houses. However, there were a few places we wanted to see that needed to be facilitated by Lena and she was always on top of things. Perfect communicator. When it came time to putting in an offer, Lena was there every step of the way. Even though we are familiar with the home buying process, there are always nuances that arise and having her backing was invaluable. About a week or so after closing, our 1% rebate was delivered. I’m thinking that this “commission-sharing” model will become the norm, but it requires a bit more research about the area by the buyer. I don’t find this to be an issue considering all the resources available online, in addition to the fact that when making a big home purchase, it makes sense for buyers to personally learn about the area. I’ve read some reviews say that this may not be appropriate for first time home buyers, but I think this would have been ideal in our first home purchase. A lot of local realtors suggested that having a local realtor was helpful to give people a sense about the area, but I believe colleagues and the internet can provide just as much, if not more information about where to live. Most amenities like school quality are easily found easily online. So definitely a five star experience and very grateful for this forward looking way of purchasing a home!

Fantastic experience: I had the privilege of working with Macie at Prevu, and she was absolutely incredible. Fantastic experience: Prevu had been a great help for the house purchase. I found the company Prevu through some search and recommendation and then through them got contacted with Alan , the local real estate agent. Alan had been super helpful in searching the property. The Bay area housing market is a little different than a lot of areas . Here the houses are sold over asking price , and offers are written without contingencies to make it any chance of getting . Given the market scenario , a potential buyer either gets frustrated seeing properties or goes overboard with their budget in order to get something. During these times, you need people like Alan beside you . He understands the market and has a good estimate of the property prices . While that may be true for a number of agents , he lets the buyer to be on the driver's seat always . He suggests price but in case the buyer wants to go more or less , he does not hesitate to write the offer. He is never pushy and always brings in the peaceful/calm factor which is needed in these transactions. Happy to have worked with Alan . In today's market , it makes all sense to work with a company like Prevu, who helps potential buyers with cash back along with helping them best to look for the property

Fantastic experience: I was paired with Kash to buy and had a good experience! Kash knows how to put together an attractive offer, is good at negotiating and to strategize with, puts together very professional paperwork (I talked to a traditional broker who told me this was one of "their differences"), and we had some laughs about the bumps in the road on the way. This was my first time home buying so I don't have other data points for comparison, but as a give-me-a-crowbar-and-get-out-of-my-way person, it was a good fit for me as I tend to do my own research and need less hand-holding / have done enough legwork to know good questions to ask. As a picky person who knows what they want and doesn't mind looking frequently for new properties by myself, I was also a good fit, as I believe Prevu does not help with that. I didn't realize it can take over 2 weeks to get Bank Letters (with your balance, account age) on it (and 3 weeks for my 401k letter!) - take a mental note if it might be relevant to you!

Fantastic experience: Prevu is a unique real estate agency in the country who are the most transparent about entire home buying process. Their agents are experienced and helpful. My experience with them was assuring and satisfying. They were willing to accompany me to visit any open house. Not that I encourage short notices to real estate agent for anyone willing to see an open house with them, but I have found houses on the market late on a Friday and visited them early on Saturday. Prevu's agents did their best to accommodate such short notices. I love them. They will be my go to agency, whenever I am in the real estate market again.

Positive experience: Prevu is legit and we applied part of our rebate check towards closing and will get the rest of it in a physical check. If you are a savvy and independent home buyer who is comfortable analyzing comp data from Redfin, reviewing inspection reports, identifying red flags then Prevu will be a great fit especially with the rebate check at the end. It is essentially for buyers who understand the housing market and can be their own advocate. Prevu only has one agent for entire Bay Area so the response time and capacity is much more limited. Our Prevu agent was accommodating and good at relaying information back and forth, with some delays at times due to limited capacity. Prevu should consider hiring more realtors in the Bay Area to alleviate this issue. Nonetheless with some nudging, we got essential information and used it to decide on a home and make a good offer. Highly recommend it for independent savvy buyers! If you want more hand holding and advisory from a realtor then we recommend finding a full service realtor outside of Prevu. Overall, Prevu was a great fit for us!

Fantastic experience: This is a great deal. We just used Prevu again, our second purchase with them. This time, Prevu helped us secure a rebate of over $10,000 of our money. Prakash was our Prevu agent and he was reliable and knowledgeable. He always answered our communication but more importantly earned his keep by encouraging us to lowball our offer by A LOT more than I was planning to, and it worked. That lowered Prevu's commission somewhat, but saved me a ton of money. I mean like drug dealer briefcase kind of money. He didn't have to do that, but he knew from experience that this was a case where we should offer significantly less than ask. Frankly, I wasn't expecting to get much service from my Prevu agent given their much lower fee, so I was pleasantly surprised. The last time I partnered with a "full fee" real estate agent they talked out both sides of their mouth...selling the virtues of every apartment they showed us (all of which were listed by their real estate firm, so they was clearly conflicted). Most agents are playing you like a lotto ticket because they get an outsized payday if their name is are next to yours when you sign. Prevu business model acknowledges a simple fact: streeteasy exists. I am going to find my own apartment. Maybe 10 years ago brokers did enough work to justify getting 2 to 3% of a giant sum of money, but at this point the rules that dictate your broker must take that much of your money are outdated and unsupportable. That's why Redfin quit the National Association of Realtors recently, because NAS is lobbying to protect traditional brokers and hurt consumers like you and me. I tell all my friends about Prevu whenever I hear someone say they are buying a home. I feel sorry for people who hand over their hard earned money to traditional brokers.

Prevu uses online tools to help you search for your property, with an agent assigned to you to help you negotiate and communicate with properties you are interested in. The overall process was smooth and I enjoyed the buying process. I would recommend this service to someone who is familiar with the area you are buying in and can leverage available information on the internet. My agent was amazing - efficient and fast with any questions I had! Then at the end of the day, they send you a great rebate! Win for all.

Fantastic experience: I used Prevu to buy a new construction home and couldn't be happier. Cyndy was an excellent agent; professional and responsive. But the best thing about Prevu is their Smart Buyer Rebate which gives a portion of their commission back to you. The website doesn't seem to go into the exact calculations, but from my experience, the current Prevu Smart Buyer rebate works like this: Prevu takes a $10k flat rate cut and gives you the rest of the buyer's commission. So, for example, if you buy a $1M house that offers 3% buyer commission, Pervu gets a total of $30k as commission, pockets $10k and gives you the remaining $20k. One thing to note is that the rebate comes AFTER closing, not during closing which would have been better. But still, it's an amazing program. I highly recommend Prevu for anyone buying a home. You get the same service, but the cash back can't be beat.

Fantastic experience: Introduced through a friend who had Prevu as buyer agent for his last several properties in the city. We, first time homebuyer, bought a 1 bdrm in Lincoln Square in Aug 2022. Prevu worked very well for us as we had good idea where we are looking to buy, what our budget is and what the budget can get. Seth was personable (he feels more like a friend than an agent). He worked diligently in scheduling viewing for us. Advising us on negotiating strategy (but is clear at the end of the day it is our decision to make). The best thing about Prevu to me is the purchase rebate - it all feels like a real partnership. It was still a lot of learning experience (hiring attorney, shopping for mortgages, scheduling and preparing for co-op board interviews - all of which come with its own set of challenges) but we were glad we had Seth and Prevu to guide us through. Prevu feels like a new generation home buying agent. We are very happy settling into our new home.

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience in NYC with Prevu and the agent we were assigned, Sara. I preferred to do my own searching using street easy / zillow but then when I found a place, Sara advised well, was friendly, professional and very helpful and the rebate was very transparent. She was fully involved in the process from deciding which offer to place to closing (and beyond!). Even though i preferred do my online searching myself, partly because our parameters were so broad. Prevu's search facility was not quite as suited to that, but their daily email would somehow always send me exactly the same things i was searching for and in a few cases things i had missed. Fantastic experience: When I was referred to Seth at Prevu, I knew I wanted to purchase an apartment in New York City, but didn't really know where to begin. Seth patiently explained the process to me, helped me understand the differences between condos and co-ops, and provided recommendations for inspectors, lenders, and attorneys he trusted. Going into this process I was concerned that a realtor might push me to purchase something I couldn't afford, or that wasn't a good deal for me. Seth explained that realtors at Prevu are paid a wage and are not incentivized to be pushy in this way. This was true in my experience. Seth never tried to convince me to do anything I didn't want to do. Though he did encourage me to at least go to showings when I was wracked with indecision at the beginning of this process. That was a good thing. This is my first time buying a home, and from what I have heard the process is more complicated here than in other places. I feel very grateful that I had Seth to guide me through all the document requirements, board interview process, and negotiations with the seller. I don't think I would have made it to closing without his help. It has been quite a process but I was able to purchase a small studio in the neighborhood I wanted, well within my price range.
