Negative experience: Ive applied a couple times the first time I payed my application fee they immediately sent me a message saying the house I was applying for was occupied and didn’t refund my money. The second time not even 2 mins after submitting my application they said I wasn’t approved. I believe they just take peoples money.

Negative experience: My experience with Main Street Renewal was a total failure in safety and professional standards. Once I opened the door to the new property, I found the pipes had burst, the ceiling was caving in, and icicles were hanging from the structural OSB beams. When I asked them what I should do, they told me to 'find a dry spot'. Despite the clear danger, MSR management initially expected us to enter this hazardous environment rather than providing remediation. After we were displaced for two weeks, their legal team attempted to condition our relocation and my refund on signing a Gag Order and a total release of liability. I refused their $750 'hush money' to ensure I could share this. I am escalating this to the Senate Banking Committee. If you have ever faced similar issues with this company, I strongly recommend you also reach out to the Senate Banking Committee. They are quick to respond and want to hear your story. You are not alone. Do not sign a non-disclosure. Do not let your silence be bought.

Despite providing move-in documentation showing pre-existing conditions, we were charged for repairs we believe were not tenant-caused. Some charges were later reversed, but others remained unresolved, and several cases were closed without addressing our documentation. Communication during dispute resolution was difficult, and we ultimately did not feel our concerns were fully addressed.

He came in to fix a couple of things and we had a few more things that we noticed and he was more than happy to fix those things for us, he even helped out with the rently lock. There were some feature’s that I didn’t know about, and he filled me in. Our house is starting to feel like a home thanks to Andrew.

Negative experience: Guillermo Pulido Did work on our toilet which has been repaired 2 weeks ago and had been leaking! We put in a work order and it took MAINSTREET RENEWAL about a damn month to get it fixed! Meanwhile we had to put a bowel behind the toilet to catching all the water leaking ! So this review is reflecting Main Street renewals ability not to fix the property that they are renting out also not to fix it correctly. The first time we have had numerous things that happened to this property either by bad weather or it just being old and falling apart, they never fixed the stuff correctly, the first time. ! Also, they are quick to mention that it’s $100 fee If you miss a schedule maintenance appointment, although they have canceled plenty of appointments that they had scheduled to fix Place that was a big inconvenience because they had us sitting at home for a whole day and never showed up but if the shoe was on the other foot, they told us they would charge us a $100 bucks

Fantastic experience: Had to put in a maintenance request for my kitchen sink leaking and they got something scheduled in 2 days. I had Guillermo come to my house and he did amazing. Very respectful and kind. He made sure to find the people because it did take a second to find the leak. He stayed and was patient instead of just saying nothing is wrong with it. He replaced the faucet within 10 minutes and works great now. He also did our move in inspection and was very helpful as it was our first time renting a house. Definitely recommend Guillermo!!! Negative experience: This is the worst leasing company that could possibly exist. I rented from them for a year, almost a full year during which I made several maintenance requests for the heating and air conditioning unit. Days before I moved out, the heater was having problems. They sent a technician who put the heater in emergency mode because my lease was almost up. This caused my electricity bill to almost double or more, and when I complained, they said they couldn't do anything about it. Honestly, I would never rent a property from them again. They are not professional or respectful at all. What a waste of time. I would never recommend anyone rent from them. It's a shame that such a large company can be so terrible.

Negative experience: Don't rent from Mainstreet Renewal unless you're okay with a faulty furnace when it's 18° F outside. We submitted a work order 1/16/2026, and despite calling the after hours line to escalate the order just got a notification that our maintenance appointment is on 1/20/2026. The lease specifically states that having no heat when it's less than 45 degrees outside is supposed to be considered urgent, but the only real assistance from the after hours line was for them to cover staying in a hotel. We have a dog and two cats and to credit of the MSR representative they offered to find a pet friendly hotel, so I guess paying for a hotel room for a couple of nights is cheaper than paying someone to look at the furnace on the weekend. We took a chance on MSR despite the reviews because we fell in love with a specific house. I know you get what you pay for, but for $1760 a month that should include a functional furnace.

Fantastic experience: Jon S or John S don’t know how he spells his name is the best maintenance man ever. He’s very professional and punctual. Anytime we’ve called for service he’s always been able to fix the issue same day in no time and if he doesn’t have the part needed he leaves and comes right back same day to fix it. Positive experience: your maintenance guy Josh is extremely unprofessional and argumentative after not showing up the day we schedule. He said he had to get his tags renewed on a Saturday and that us waiting around all day to not get the missed appointment fee wasnt his problem. Negative experience: If I could give a minus in stars I would, they don't even deserve a one star. This is the worst rental company I have had to deal with. Trying to get to a live person is hell. They don't care about their tenants and only care about .aking money. We have had issues with the plumbing in this house since we moved in. For over a year they only dis temporarily fixes, it took them for our house to get flooded with sewere to actually use 3 different plumbing companies and replace paying in portions. My husband and I had to use a bunch of our vacation time to be at the house for these repairs after we insisted on this getting taken care of for over a year. Since they did not hire a good plumbing company to begin with, the issue was not resolved, and at the end of November we had back up again coming into our home, we submitted a requested they sent a plumber to snake the pipes instead of having them investigate why we arw having back up into our basement again after the pipes were replaced. Withing a week we had back up again, they sent on of their technicians, I even called them and stated he won't be able to resolve the issue and with attitude got an answer of they do plumbing too, well as I stated he was unable to do anything. Ao instead of them sending a plumber to see why the issue continues they dis nothing, we had family visits for the holidays and wishing a few days from the technician coming, we had sewer coming into our main bathroom shower and toilet. We called Mainstreet on that Saturday and theu stated they would have a plumber come, no one came, for 2 days we had to deal with no use of water and barely using the toilet of the guest bathroom. We didn't have plumber come till that following Monday, I took unpaid time off work, and the plumbing company came and could not do anything becaise the back up was so bad, they had to send someone else the next day, I took another day pf unpaid time off and we got nothing resolved as they said we would have to flood your basement with sewer to get this moving, so they needed to submit a bid to be able to dog out front yard for the 3rd time to open a hole in the mean time since they needed to figure out the issue, they opened a hole withing 3 days of that and it inly lasted 3 days and pur entire main bathroom and part of our bedroom carpet got flooded with poop and pee water. It was disgusting. The first time thia happens we had poop coming out of our kitchen sink and there was no urgency to fix this. Mainstreet did not do anything g within the 72 hrs they have to fix this type of issue, they waited till it got bad to actually send a plumber again, wr had to be relocated till the 24th of December. But this point we had to spend money on laundromat, spend busting food since we could not cook or do dishes, spend more in gas since we were relocated downtown and we were far from our home and jobs. We have no family in Louisville so we didn't have where to go to avoid those expenses. We were told that we could submit a concession request ince the job was completed for all the inconvenience and the time we were unable to use the house properly or be here. I lost over 500$ of unpaid time at work, we pay almost $2000 in rent and they have us $50 discount. This is an insult to everything we have been out through with this corporation. You cant even find a rental home that is not owned by them, I have called and complained and submitted a dispute and they did not give a damn, they told me they can't do anything. This company is a scam ans something needs to be done. We have had to live in unsanitary conditions because of them and they think that $50 is ok to discount from our rent and their excuse was we don't do concessions for unfinished basements, on top of everything the people they have are incompetent.

Negative experience: DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY! Since moving to one of their Allison courtyard properties we have had nothing but issues. We have continuously tried to personally contact any employee connected to Main Street via phone call since signing our lease and always get a 3rd party representative who does not take our concerns or questions seriously. As long as you are paying your rent they have no concern with you or your living conditions. Find ANY other company you rent from.

Positive experience: 5 star rating for maintenance man Brandon! My overall experience had not been good with Mainstreet. I moved in one week ago and was ghosted for the move in maintenance check. It was never done. I have experienced issues from plumbing to electrical. Brandon took care of most of it today in a professional manner. He is very attentive to tenant’s needs.
