Fantastic experience: Axel came out the next day and not only did he take care of our broken A/C that had not been working for a couple days, but he also educated me on what to look for so that we don’t have to suffer sleeping in a home at 83 degrees F. I am so grateful. He was professional, kind, and courteous. Best service I’ve ever received in a rental. I highly recommend Axel for recognition and promotion. Negative experience: I've been renting from these guys for 2 years tried explaining that my family is currently going through a hardship this company has no sympathy i get it they are a business and need their money but everyone are bad tenants they could at least let you set a promise date within 10 days or something other than sorry and good luck great way to make people enjoy who their paying

Positive experience: 5 stars for our maintenance technician Felix Escobar was very quick and friendly and was able to fix our issue. Mainstreet Renewal as a whole is a headache and slow to respond when issues arise, often attempting to rely on the tenant to fix issues themselves or bandaid fixing the issue, despite the ludicrous amounts of rent money they receive.

Fantastic experience: We discovered a leak at our home we're leasing.Mainstreet sent our a technician name Yusniel. He found the leak and showed us why it was leaking. Then he had to replace the stainer, and the missing washers that wasn't there before. He had to replace a few other parts as well. Negative experience: I went to submit an application for a particular house for lease that I had just looked at after looking at 3 other houses that this particular property management had listed. The one I was looking at and wanted to put an application for my family checked off all the boxes. Before looking at the home, I was told that it was available to rent. When I got to the home to look at it, I was surprised to find one of their staff members was there putting some final touches on the house. My husband and I got home and went to immediately go fill out the application for the lease. Just as soon as I was about to start the application process, I got a communication from MainStreet that the house is NO longer available to rent AND the house was already under lease. Putting my cards together and knowing what leads to me to think they were trying to get me to sign up for higher priced lease. After the fact and looking back on what haapend....I feel like I was being profiled after the fact. The staff member that I surprisingly meet at this house kept saying "oh, if you just push up to this more rent you will get x,y,z features." I know for a fact that I was being profiled. The house that we wanted to rent is now still listed and matter of fact for a slightly lower price. MainStreet renewal you lied to us and have now lost someone who would have been a good tenant. Oh well, we found something else where they didn't profile us and is well within what we wanted to pay for a our monthly rent.

Negative experience: If I could give 0 stars I would. Moving out process has been a headache, I went through and did any minor repairs needed (small picture holes patched and painted) and had a professional cleaning company come through and clean the house. Spent (350$) to have the house cleaned so I wouldn't be docked from my security deposit. When we first moved in the carpets needed to be replaced and cleaned. I requested this from the company and they denied me. I chalked it up because we had already signed our lease. Fast forward to moving out. 95% of my security deposit was taken and I was docked for cleaning and not "smooth" patches even though I had everything sanded and paint matched where the photos were hung. They said the carpets needed to be professionally cleaned because of staining. The carpets we're stained when we moved in and not cleaned as you can see in the photos from moving in. This company will do everything to take your secuirty deposit, even though you do your due diligence to document when moving in from the check sheet to photos then will not work with you and claim it was your doing.

On his way out I explained to him that I needed to submit a work order on a door just needs to repaired again and without hesitation he stopped looked at the door and fixed my door before leaving. Negative experience: Beware: MSR is *not* tenant-centric. If you enjoy or appreciate human-to-human transactions with local enterprise members, this agency is not for you. The standard to which the homes are maintained is minimal, and your deposit is harvested no matter how well you care for the home. I cannot, in good countenance recommend main street renewal to consumers at this time. I sincerely hope they get back to the standards and excellence of 2017, 2018, 2019 soon. Since 2020 things have truly taken a turn for the worse in the Tampa and Orlando markets.

Negative experience: I would give 1 star to the maintenance workers that actually come out and get things done, but as a company in whole 0 stars. Very unprofessional when it comes to getting repairs done. I had to live months with a huge hole in the ceiling because of an old damaged a.c duct in the attic. Not to mention the mold from the moisture build up with three children living there. I would not recommend this leasing agency to my worst enemy.

Negative experience: Main Street Renewal is not a property management company you want to get involved with. I was renting a property that was being managed by them in September 2024 when hurricanes Helene and Milton hit, and they completely destroyed the house and everything in it. Not only did Main Street Renewal do less than nothing to help my roommate and me, but they tried to charge us for the following October and November's rent, which was horrendous considering the house was deemed uninhabitable after 4 feet of water came in and flooded and destroyed the house! When that didn't work out in their favor, they kept our security deposit, citing damages to the property! Of course there was damage to the property, there were two consecutive hurricanes that destroyed the house! The lease itself excluded acts of nature and God from our responsibility, but we would have to take it to court to fight them on it, which they knew, and losing a home and all of your belongings takes a major bite out of your savings (I also lost my job because of the hurricanes because I was working from home, and if you don't have a home to work from...) and if you don't have an income to keep paying lawyers, that is not something you can pursue. So not only did they try to ILLEGALLY CHARGE US RENT FOR A HOME THAT WAS NOT LEGALLY HABITABLE, BUT THEY ILLEGALLY KEPT OUR SECURITY DEPOSIT FOR THE RENT AND DAMAGES THAT THEY LEGALLY CANNOT CHARGE US FOR! All while knowing that we would have to sue them to get it back, fully taking advantage of a disaster situation to line their pockets to get back what they lost with no care in the world for what was happening to their tenants. If you are looking for a new place to rent, and you see these people's name on the lease, run, do not walk. No matter how nice the place might look, or how nice the incentive deal is, you will never see your security deposit again and you will be blamed for things that you had nothing to do with just so they can keep your money, regardless of what the lease says, and you will ultimately have to take them to court to rectify it. If that doesn't sound like a headache you want, I recommend you find a private owner to deal with, it is much less of a headache. And that is just the most recent and damaging of the things we had to deal with. There were data breaches with their payment sites, maintenance requests that were never answered, oh so many things to avoid this company with. Not done with them by a long shot. Just hoping more people will come forward about this company's abuse and there will be a class action lawsuit that can get rolling. PLEASE COME FORWARD IF THIS COMPANY HAS DONE ANYTHING LIKE THIS TO YOU. EDIT AFTER RESPONSE: This company has had several opportunities to rectify their error. I have provided them with photos, documented conversations as proof, their own lease terms, and a demand letter from my attorney stating all of the evidence where they were in the wrong and needed to refund my security deposit, and they still flat out declined to admit any wrong doing or issue the refund I was due. They are only saying these nice words so people will think that they have any semblance of caring, which they do not. The only thing they respond to is a lawsuit. I have already contacted several media outlets with this information, and I truly hope that anyone who has been negatively impacted by these frauds WILL COME FORWARD AND HELP ME PUT A STOP TO THEIR ABUSE ONCE AND FOR ALL. PLEASE COME FORWARD IF YOU ARE A CURRENT OR FORMER TENANT OF MAIN STREET RENEWAL. TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE THINGS RIGHT ONCE AND FOR ALL! LET'S BE THE SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM TOGETHER, AND STOP LETTING THESE PROPERTY MANAGEMENT COMPANIES GET AWAY WITH THIS NONSENSE THAT FLORIDA LAWS PROTECT THEM WITH AND DO NOTHING TO HELP PROTECT TENANTS FROM!

THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR TENANTS!!!!***** We’ve been residents since 2020 and have gotten nothing but rinky dink service from this company. Always pay rent on time. Never had a problem. Our plexiglass window blew in from Helene. They never came out to fix it. Now, we are in the thick of hurricane Milton and our back window has blown in. After we’ve complained several times about the unsafe conditions of our home. This company is HORRIBLE. Do not do business with them!! **UPDATE A YEAR LATER** Our dishwasher hasn’t worked since August. After it had filled up with water and never drained, we spent hours trying to get the water out. The technician they sent out literally started our dishwasher, said he was going to come back, and never came back. The uprooted tree from Helene is now a 2 foot stump. Our paper-thin, plexiglass windows are still causing our home to be as non-energy efficient as possible in the Florida heat. Your electric bill will be out of this world and will totally offset this company’s “affordable rent”. YOU WILL PAY THE DIFFERENCE IN ENERGY COSTS!!! Our handle on our sliding glass door broke off. The maintenance people told me they couldn’t do anything because they didn’t have the right handle at Home Depot. So, you can’t order the right handle? We bought the correct handle and installed it ourselves. The screen door was on when we moved in. It fell off at some point and we asked to get it fixed. Well, we need a whole new door apparently. After our fence blew down, we realized the paint in the house needed to be touched up. No response. Just insanely lazy and unacceptable responses for this much money a month. Don’t rent with this company.

Even is having our door lock replaced because the last digital one broke and mainstreet replaced with a normal deadbolt which I called about at the time and was told that’s how it was going to be!!!! Probably same policy as only stainless steel appliances will be ordered and I’ve received a white stove and a stainless steel dishwasher…. Gotta love that luxury living at affordable prices! No one seems to know what's going on when I follow up. Wasted so much time on the phone. As a business person, people want to do business with people they can trust. It's not all about the money. I need to depend on a company to uphold their word when it comes to business. We already have so much trust issues with all sorts of businesses. So if you're considering doing business with Mainstreet Renewal, make sure you have all the proof. Seems like they're trying to avoid paying the credit they said they would give. That's bad busines!

Negative experience: ZERO STARS - This agency’s conduct reflects a serious failure to comply with fundamental landlord-tenant obligations under U.S. housing law. While the agency was attentive prior to lease execution and receipt of funds, its responsiveness and accountability significantly declined thereafter. Our rental property suffered a serious plumbing failure, including two toilets overflowing, both showers clogged, and raw sewage backing up into the master bathroom. Under § 83.51(1), Florida Statutes, a landlord is required to maintain the premises in compliance with applicable building, housing, and health codes and to ensure the plumbing and sanitary facilities are in good working order. Sewage intrusion constitutes a clear health hazard and renders a dwelling unfit for human habitation. We provided immediate notice through phone calls, formal maintenance requests, and repeated follow-ups. Despite this notice, the agency failed to take prompt action or to treat the issue as an emergency. Florida law does not permit landlords to delay remediation of essential services based on arbitrary internal timelines. Under § 83.56(1), a landlord’s material noncompliance that affects health and safety requires timely correction. Our house is uninhabitable. Our young girls were forced to use a pot . In a medical emergency, EMS responds. However, we are forced to breathe FECES while we sleep, because their definition of an emergency is 24-48 hours!! We pay close to $2,500 monthly, while we have had issues from day 1. When we requested temporary lodging due to the uninhabitable conditions, the request was denied solely because the request was too “new,” despite the severity of the hazard. The agency also failed to provide a lawful and secure method for emergency access. They referenced an automated entry system that had been inoperable since shortly after move-in and never repaired, then suggested that we leave a physical key unsecured, creating obvious safety and liability concerns. This cruel and wicked conduct raises grave concerns, where conditions are so unsafe that continued occupancy is unreasonable. We expect full compliance with Florida law upon termination of the tenancy, including the proper handling and return of our full security deposit pursuant to § 83.49, Florida Statutes. Prospective tenants should carefully consider whether this agency is willing or able to meet its statutory duties once rent has been collected, particularly when serious health and safety issues arise. I would rather take my family to a shelter, than continuing to PAY these crooks!!!!!!! They should be ashamed of themselves, but they are a billion-dollar company, so of course, accountability does not exist.

Negative experience: We are on day 13 of our lease with Main Street. Our home has been inhabitable for 10/13 days as a tree root is completely blocking the main drain of the home. Main Street has had two vendors out to scope, but will not accept a bid to complete the repairs needed. We have 4 adults and 2 toddlers living in the home with no working toilets, showers, and no ability to do laundry or dishes. Raw sewage is backing into the home via the master shower. We are shuffling to and from gas stations to use the restroom and to and from a family's home in north FL to do laundry and shower. Our request is escalated as of 7 days ago, but the repairs have not been made even still. We escalated a request for early termination of the lease given the circumstances, and we were rejected. We are unable to leave the home for a hotel as we have 2 adults working remote in the home and requiring their work stations to do so. Upon moving in, we also found that there was an over 700 sq ft discrepancy between the listed liveable square footage and the actual square footage of the home.. It is listed as 2200 square feet, but is only 1487 sq feet, per the county assessor. They have been made aware of all of this, but we have not received any communication or attempts to rectify this issue. The application and acceptance process was so easy for our cross-country work relocation; made it feel like this was supposed to be where we landed for the next year. Had we known... Going to be a long 12 months! I'd recommend locals stay far, far away from this company.

Negative experience: It’s so frustrating to have so many issues with a company that you pay your rent to. A pipe burst outside of my home and the water was running out everywhere. We shut the water off and I put in a maintenance request. The next day I called and explained I had to shut the water off in the home and I have small kids that need to use water. They said they would get someone out to fix it. No one showed up. The next day I called again and no one showed. I called Tampa water department and they came out but stated they could not fix it because it was the owner’s responsibility. Now we are 2 and a half days without water. I called a plumber and they fixed it for $300. The 3rd day. They came out and it was already fixed. Now they saying they can’t reimburse me or credit my account. I suppose to wait 3 days for you to come and fix my water and I have kids. The dishwasher went out. Maintenance scheduled for yesterday and no one showed up. But if we were not here they would charge me $100 for a no show. Who is going to reimburse me when they don’t show. Absolutely unacceptable behavior from this company.

Negative experience: It’s only been a month since I’ve moved into a mainstreet home and it has already been so disappointing. The home was not clean prior to my move in, carpet was full of pet hair along with the baseboards windowsills just every where it took me weeks to clean. We discovered mold on ceilings walls and baseboards and issues with sink clogged. The mold was addressed promptly which i’m happy about however im still having plumbing and high humidity issues. It has been a full week since making another maintenance request (sink was “fixed” but same issues arose days later and it hasn’t even been acknowledged. So it’s been a month of not being able to properly use my kitchen & the back up is disgusting. These homes are priced way to high for urgent issues not to be addressed promptly. EDIT TO ADD: I wish I could leave a million reviews it’s very sickening how this company operates so dishonest, does not honor terms of lease agreement, poor communication PLEASE RUN!!!

Negative experience: It's one of the worst companies to rent from. I haven't had a working toilet or shower in the last 48hrs and counting. They customer service is trained to deflect and you could never reach the people that's in breach of the contract about getting you somewhere liveable temporarily. They do things like this cause it's hard to just up and leave when you've planned your living around the area. I will not rent with this company again

Negative experience: Had a very difficult time getting in touch with the leasing office and overall had a poor experience. I was looking to rent a property and was accepted to sign a lease, which had incorrect contact information on it. To be on top of it, we reached out immediately and asked for them to change this and had a support ticket put in but never did anything to fix our contact info. I and the other tenants tried contacting the leasing team via phone, email, and text to just be told our support ticket was “being looked into” only to have the property closed and signed with others. It’s quite frustrating to know that we tried to be urgent in getting this information fixed because we understand that the property is not taken off of the market until these documents are signed, but our needs unfortunately weren’t met with urgency or care leaving us with no answers, no fix in our lease, and no property. If they know that the lease modifications are time sensitive, they should at least treat these requests with SOME sort of urgency. Will probably never pursue through this rental company again.
