Enter Keyrenter, and I truly can't say enough good things about them. From day one, their team made the entire process incredibly smooth and easy to understand. They walked me through every step, explained landlord responsibilities, and came up with a smart, budget-conscious renovation plan to get the home rent-ready. I didn't have a big budget, and they respected that while still helping me make thoughtful updates that would appeal to renters. Within just a few weeks, they coordinated everything! Cleaning, minor repairs, marketing, professional photos, showings, and tenant screening. They placed a qualified tenant who has now been living in the property happily for over three years! After a thorough review of your communication with your Property Manager, you requested to cancel your move-out request on December 9 and did not provide a formal move-out date or timeline until January 20, for a January 31 move-out. This does not constitute a 30-day notice to vacate as required under your lease agreement.
Additionally, you were charged for a dog whose information that you entered and uploaded.

They didn't take any pictures of their previous tenants move out and the place was a roach infested mess we moved into and they said WE WERE responsible for the roaches right as we moved in. Then when we moved out they tried to keep our entire deposit and charge us for stealing things including the fire extinguisher. We were so confused only to find out the previous tenant stole all this stuff and they never checked the place between move ins. It took 5 calls of me fighting tooth and nail to defend myself despite them having no pictures of evidence at all against up. One lady straight up called me a thief. Then they charged us for leaving a washer and dryer and other things that were also left by the previous tenant that crowded our garage. Just an awful experience STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS!!

Our system shows your move out date was 6/1/2023. I’m curious to know why you left a review over two years later when an issue like this is much harder to resolve. We see that you received just shy of half of your security deposit back. Other than the washer and dryer, there was a plethora of large items left in the property after your move out. Including Christmas trees and boxes, a couch, a canoe, and overflowing trash bins. Closet doors were left off of the tracks, etc.
We processes hundreds of security deposits per year with little to no issues. If you truly felt that your deposit was processed unfairly, challenging the charges upon recovering your deposit deposition would have given you the opportunity to resolve the issue.

We’re sorry that you're frustrated with your newly purchased investment property, and we want to clarify several important facts for the record.
Keyrenter was not involved in the purchase or sale of your property. The property was acquired sight unseen, and after closing, you advised us that the condition of the units did not match what you believed you had purchased. You also advised your belief that at closing, the duplex was 100% leased for $900 per month on each side. However, the duplex was only 50% leased, for a lesser rent amount than you expected. Proper due diligence during the transaction process would have prevented this initial confusion.
The vacant unit has remained unrented because we have been awaiting authorization and funding to complete necessary interior repairs since September. Without repairs, the unit cannot be safely or responsibly marketed for rent.
More recently, you informed us that the property is being listed for sale with an unaffiliated brokerage. Under these circumstances, we provided notice that we would be discontinuing management, as managing a property that will not be repaired and re-leased is not something we can do effectively.
We take our responsibility to owners and tenants seriously and operate with transparency and documentation at every step. While we understand this situation is disappointing, the challenges here stem from the condition of the property and transaction details that occurred outside of our involvement.
We wish you the best with the sale and appreciate the opportunity we had to work with you.

The most concerning issue is the willingness to publicly disclose or reference personal tenant information in response to negative reviews. Whether that information is accurate or not is beside the point. A professional property management company should never retaliate against criticism by airing private matters. Tenants have the right to voice grievances without fear of public exposure. Equally troubling is the tone used throughout their listings and policies. While screening requirements such as rental history, income verification, and credit standards are common, the way these demands are presented feels unnecessarily harsh and authoritarian. The language reads as dismissive rather than professional, creating the impression that tenants are viewed as liabilities rather than customers. There are also noticeable patterns in the reviews themselves. A high volume of near-identical five-star reviews repeatedly praising the same individual by name does not read as organic. Whether incentivized or encouraged, the consistency raises reasonable questions about how representative those ratings are of the overall tenant experience. Based on all of this, I personally would not consider leasing any property managed by this company, regardless of location or price. I would also caution others to carefully evaluate whether this style of management aligns with their expectations of professionalism, privacy, and basic respect. At a minimum, this company would need to significantly rethink how it communicates with and about tenants—particularly in public forums and rental listings—before I could view it as a responsible or trustworthy option

We appreciate prospective residents who take the time to review them, as well as the lease itself. Anyone who does so will find nothing unreasonable or unusual for a high-quality rental experience. This clarity is precisely why we have many long-term residents who respect our rules and, in turn, are treated with respect and professionalism.
Finally, regarding reviews, we do not incentivize or script feedback. Many reviewers choose to mention specific team members because they have had repeated positive interactions. Consistency in praise reflects consistency in service, not manipulation. Sophie, in particular, is exceptional at assisting prospective residents, and those who engage with her routinely express high satisfaction.
We recognize that our approach will not align with everyone’s expectations. We encourage prospective residents to review policies carefully, ask questions, and choose a management style that fits their needs. Our leasing process is intentionally structured to comply with federal, state, and local Fair Housing laws. Under these laws, property owners can be personally named in a Fair Housing complaint or lawsuit if they are involved in tenant selection decisions, even when intentions are good.
Because most owners are not Fair Housing professionals, involving them in applicant selection can unintentionally create legal exposure and drag them into costly and stressful litigation. For that reason, we handle the screening and selection process on the owner’s behalf using objective, written criteria applied consistently to every applicant. This approach is designed specifically to protect owners from Fair Housing risk and legal involvement.
This process is a core part of the Keyrenter leasing experience and is disclosed in advance through our management agreement and leasing materials. Owners are kept informed throughout the process, but removing them from direct decision-making helps ensure compliance and safeguards them from unnecessary legal risk.

Experiencia negativa: Unfortunately I have had the worst time with Keyrenter Properties and the property manager Jordan for almost a month. When touring the unit, the ceiling was in disrepair and I was assured by Jordan that prior to the move in date that it would be finished. This was August 24th, I paid my first months rent on the 25th. They supposedly had someone here to repair it, at which time Jordan says the unit was good to go and all fixed up ready for move in. First day, the roofers kept the key and left nothing in the lockbox so I had to wait hours with my furniture on a moving truck, lost my help as well. Later in the day they replaced the lock and said it was good only for me to walk into the unit in WORSE condition than before! There was no way I was moving my things in there looking and smelling like it did. Clearly he did not perform his due diligence to ensure the unit he's representing is in fact ready before telling someone it is. I ended up having to unload my truck and put things back in storage because since my move date... I hadn't been able to move in... just paying bills there while they kept saying someone is coming... My apartment wasnt fixed til the 17th when I could finally move in, three weeks later. Jordan even said we'll rewrite the lease to reflect the new move in date. When the place was fixed and I asked about it, he never replied. Not shocked at all. Heck, for all my trouble they even applied a $200 lockbox fee and a $75 late fee to my account for October rent... told him get that off my account now. I didn't press the issue to rewrite it because I just want to be done with them as soon as possible. The communication I received is very poor at best. I truly dont believe Jordan ever said sorry, oops, my bad, or anything. Very little accountability. At every turn I've had to reach him asking for an update only to be stalled again. His communication is email and never calls no matter what the situation is. Moving is already a tough, expensive, task. My experience was made worse by a comedy of errors and poor service. No one should have to deal with this.

For clarity, the landlord-tenant relationship in Oklahoma is governed by the Oklahoma Residential Landlord and Tenant Act, which outlines how security deposits, move-out charges, documentation, and collections are handled. In accordance with that law and our internal procedures, we document all properties with detailed photos and videos both before move-in and after move-out. This documentation exists specifically to support situations like this, for transparency and fairness if charges are ever questioned.
Any former tenant has the right to challenge the legitimacy of charges, and we cannot (and do not) prevent anyone from doing so. When documentation supports a claim, it is retained; when it does not, adjustments are made.

Experiencia positiva: The triplex is nice but could use a little work mostly cosmetic. No one actually showed me around but Dan at Key Rentals was very nice, I talked to him in text, emails and on the phone. When I originally looked at the property there was a washer and dryer that was there and when I rented it they had given them to another tenant and left lent and hangers and trash all over the floor, but anyway I ended up buying a set later. Then my electric stove baking element went out on my Thanksgiving day to cook for about 15 people and ended up having to cook on my barbecue grill; Not anyone’s fault it happened, but it’s still not fixed. Over all I really like it here and like they have maintained it pretty well and I have access to maintenance and they care for the lawn. Everyone has been very nice.

As any other property management company, we leave a property listed until a legally binding lease agreement has been signed because until that point, the property is not spoken for. Upon a lease agreement being fully executed, the property is immediately removed from the market. This is not predatory, it is industry standard.

So responsive and just provided a great customer experience. I hope I won't be updating my rating after having to go through a maintenance issue, but as for the communication from the application, utility set up, to move in - one the best and simplest I've experienced. Experiencia negativa: The worst place you can choose to go through for rental property, offering under maintained and over priced locations along with inept property managers who can never be reached by phone. They offer no communication and incorrectly arrange and schedule work orders. Olivia has drug her feet on issues we have brought up on the initial inspection and continues to disappoint.

Three things:
1) We don’t have any current or past residents named Zac Weber. I looked through all current and past owners, prospective residents, and actual residents, and cannot find anyone with your name. Rather, I believe you are a family member of the Hello Property Management team operating out of the Oklahoma Panhandle and potentially now, Tulsa.
2) If anyone doesn’t follow a contract, there’s an easy legal framework to resolve the dispute. The loser pays legal fees, generally. We never violate our contract. We have a good understanding of our leases and follow them to a T.
3) We have a hundred or more reviews that acknowledge how responsive we are to residents’ issues and prospective residents’ calls and texts.

Experiencia negativa: I applied to one of their properties. They have very bad communication. They rarely reply to you. When you say you're only interested in a 12 month lease. At the beginning They said it was okay. Spent $200 and then they change there minds saying they only accept 18 month leases. This is a bait and switch which is illegal and against OREC! Stay away from these shady people

Experiencia negativa: Disgustingly overpriced property for the extreme lack of maintenance performed on it. Overpaying by $300-$500 a month easily. Management does not care about the lack of maintenance and the unacceptable state of the home when we moved in, as evidenced by the “handymen” sent that stank worse than the house and just did a cursory inspection of the issues. They still have not performed any repairs now, 10 days after we moved in. Unacceptable and do NOT recommend this management or property to anybody.

Experiencia negativa: The whole house wasn't ready (not clean) when we first moved in. The whole house had a bad odor and a very strong cigarette smell, it took almost half a year to get rid of it. I literally had to use febreze every single day. Also the water leaks in the master bedroom to the point I got fed up with the noise especially at night. As a clean person as I am I tried to keep up with the maintenance and organize the house. One thing I dislike about renting the house. The owner of the house would come by and pick up the hose in the front or back yard without saying a word. I was being watched by the owner quite sometime that being said I feel like I did not have any of my privacy. The owner kept complaining to the Key renter management that we need to do this we need to do that, which I try my best to keep up with their house already so I don't understand what more do they want. At the end I still end up losing some of my deposit for them to Clean the the house (that's what the key renter claim) but how can they said they used it for the cleaners when we saw that the house was not even clean. They asked to leave the house as it was when we first moved in. We actually wiped and mopped the entire house before moving out. There's so much more to say, but I'll leave it here.

Your property manager did indeed have the home professionally cleaned upon moving in, which we have an invoice and photos to prove. There was never a work order entered for any issues related to cleaning or the condition of the home upon moving in. Had this been brought to your property manager attention, we certainly would have tended to it.

After he paid his deposit and got keys .. he found 3-4 squatters in his home on his First Move In Day He ended up getting a full refund from the situation and that was IT. I felt so bad because it was my friends very first experience with renting and he didn’t even get his “home” instead he got to hang with the police and a poorly and unfit landlord property management. ** MY EXPERIENCE I recently moved out of a 1 bd 1bth for $850 on march 31st 2025 with MATT LANTZ & MONICA SEGURA was a tenant for 2 years. once I moved out , they took my full $825 deposit which would of been okay, but then also wrote a $773 fee due to “damages” (2 small holes due to the door stoppers not working correctly.) my “cleaning” fee was $900 itself even after I cleaned the apartment and did not leave any trash. I feel it is outrageous that they charged me like this considering the pests/ rodent infestations they did not take care of the entire time I lived at the location. I only seen pest control once, that was my last month I was there. I never once met any of my landlords, they changed it up about 3 different times. Just yesterday I asked for invoices for everything charged and what I got was a quick write up that only said “general labor” and “cleaning” with the total as $1598.92, then Matt sent me a collection bill literally 10minutes after I reached out about my deposit (all the same day) Before then it’s been an entire month and 1/2 and haven’t received any information from him or the property besides RATING.
Dominique, clearly you are upset that we have sent you to collections for a back-owed balance that is in excess of your security deposit. I have so many questions and concerns about the credibility of your review. First of all, both your ledger (accessible to you still) and your security deposit disposition letter (sent to you on May 5th, 2025) indicate that the cleaning charge was $219.98, so unsure where you got a cleaning fee of $900 from. Matt Lantz also directly emailed you copies of all invoices. (For anyone that would like to see the full inspection done after Dominique’s move out, you’re always welcome to request it [email protected].) Second, you changed your phone number and therefore we have been unable to reach you by telephone. Third, you reference having multiple property managers, but Matt Lantz has managed that property since long before you moved into the property in 2023. Fourth, if there were so many pests and rodents, why did you not submit EVEN A SINGLE work order related to bugs during your two years of living in the apartment (you submitted one for a loose door handle and one for a blown fuse).
As I said, I’m sure you’re upset that your deposit was taken and you’ve been sent to collections, but I can assure you that the charges were justified based on the condition in which you left the property.
Experiencia negativa: I would probably give this 0 stars if I could. We filled out an application, paid the fee and were told that they had given the house to another party AFTER we paid the fee. When asked about other houses, we were told that other house was taken but did not give us the same courtesy when we paid the fee and already toured the house. Find someone else or do not go to these guys unless you want your money to be gone. These guys are not professionals.

To provide clarity: our role as a property management company is to represent the best interests of the property owner. In this case, there were multiple applicants for the home. While we genuinely appreciated your application, another party offered $300 more per month and was willing to sign a two-year lease—terms that aligned more closely with the owner’s goals.
We realize that touring a home and submitting an application requires a real investment (especially when there are five applicants, as was the case with your group) but it's important to understand that this doesn’t guarantee a lease will be signed by both parties. We also cannot present an applicant’s offer to the owner without first receiving a completed application—this is how we verify and demonstrate bona fide interest in the property. The decision was made after reviewing all applications to the property; at the time of your investment in application, we had not yet made a decision.
We agree that application fees can feel steep, especially when multiple parties are interested in the same home. These fees cover the cost of background, credit, and rental history checks and are not contingent upon lease approval.
We sincerely regret that this property didn’t work out, especially in such a competitive rental market. We would be happy to process your applications for any of our other available homes and hope to have the opportunity to work with you again.
Experiencia fantástica: I just renewed my lease through Keyrenter and this has been the most amazing experience I’ve ever had with a property management. Brian specifically is who I deal with and any time I’ve had to submit a maintenance request, Brian has had someone in contact with me about whatever issue within hours. I don’t think I’ve even gone a full day of having an issue without being contacted by a contractor to come fix my issue. I Love my little house and as much as you can love a property management company, I love mine.

Your claims are simply untrue. We are held by OREC to hold security deposits in an escrow account, in which we abide by. You were evicted and you took poor care of the property, resulting in several large item repairs that you are now legally responsible for, including removing all remaining items and trash upon your move out.
