Fantastic experience: By far, the best apartment complex I have ever moved into the staff is friendly, professional, and extremely considerate. The maintenance crew has the fastest response ever and the leasing office checks back to make sure everything is done OK or did they need to come back? I don’t know how to act I’ve never had that kind of respect and service in Evansville before I highly recommend this property.

Fantastic experience: The maintenance guys Mitch and Tim are real ones. My entire A/C unit/system broke down in 95+ degree weather, and they got a new unit installed, up and running within a day for me. Mitch was very helpful and transparent about the timing of things and his maintenance team’s schedule. This meant a lot to me.

Fantastic experience: I have been at Sugar Mill for nineteen (19) years. When I call for maintenance, it is always done by an experienced repairman, on time, and done properly. The grounds are always kept neat and clean, and I will use the term "beautiful". You cannot find a better place to live. When searching for a new place to live, come to Sugar Mill and see for yourself. Oh, if you see me on the grounds, ask me about this beautiful place!

Negative experience: Awful apartment complex staff. My aunt had been a resident there for a little over a year and she absolutely loved the place. Unfortunately on 12-1-21 she was discovered dead in her apartment. This was also her day to be moving to a downstairs apratment facing the lake so the property manager should have been getting ahold of her considering the office had been open for two hours. They didnt. I called and asked if they had heard from her and was told "we aren't giving you that information" my aunt sat in her apartment dead with her two cats for over a week and they didn't bother to check nor care when i told them she had passed

Negative experience: My mom has lived there for almost 2 years now. I’ve called the office numerous times to discuss things with them concerning her & never had an issue till today. Now all of a sudden they “can’t discuss” her with me. I’ve never been so mad. My mom is elderly & me & my sisters handle all her stuff & until now it’s never been an issue. We not very happy about this.

Negative experience: I enjoy living here, and the people in the office are very friendly. However, no one around is here helpful when it comes to maintenance. My 1000sq ft apartment cost nearly $200 in electric all summer long due to the AC unit(s) being the same age as Betty White. You can look forward to setting your apartment temp to 70 and coming home to a cool 83. Their solution to this is sending maintenance (I believe it’s some lawn care guy) to spray the fan in the outside unit off. Plus my fridge has gone out, and after having “maintenance” come by to fix it; guess what? It’s out again. If you’re going to own such large complexes, I’d suggest taking better care of the facilities.

Negative experience: I didn’t even want to give them a star. Would NOT recommend these apartments. Maintenance is terrible and just covers the mold under the sink with another piece of wood instead of repairing it properly. Ceiling fell in from the upstairs apartment and took them 3 months to even fix it. Couldn’t use the shower In the bathroom because they left it such a mess for days with all their tools in the tube and in the ceiling. The office is a joke, If you have a noise complaint they won’t do anything but send a note to the managers. They suggested I call the police on the people upstairs instead of trying to contact the person who lives there. Wasn’t expecting them to kick them out but a phone call goes a long way. At the end of the day. This place sucks and they want too much money. The apartments are not even that nice.

Fantastic experience: I moved into my apartment several months ago and I can honestly not be more thankful for the staff here. Maintenance has been amazing to help, even with the supposedly small situations, such as a sippy cup stuck in the disposal to A.C. units not working being fixed within hours. The two maintenance men are amazing! The office staff has been amazing also. I have had a rough time with one of my neighbors harrasing me and it is clear that they talked to them about it because they no longer come to my door screaming. The staff here are very kind and professional. The apartments are very stunning in every way. They are beautiful inside and out.

Negative experience: Seems good from a distance but not when you live there. It takes forever for things to get fixed. The tub cracked when I first moved in and it took more than 6 months to get fixed. I literally was stepping on rocks when showering because the crack turned into a huge opening. And forget protection of your property. My brand new car got nicked by a rock when their crew was landmowing and they refused to pay for it to be fixed.

Negative experience: My friends lived in this property. I liked it a lot and I always wanted to live in there. In 2015 I paid a deposit 3 months before I move in. But a couple of days before the move-in date I got a call telling me that the one who was about to move out decided not to. They wanted me to wait a month until they find another apartment. But I asked for my deposit back.

Fantastic experience: I would HIGHLY recommend Sugar Mill Creek apartment homes. I can't say enough good things about the apartments, the management, maintenance guys and responsiveness! I chose Sugar Mill because the kitchens large (eat -in) and have tons of cabinets. Also the laundry closet is located in the large bathroom and they have laundry facilities should mine break down. The rooms are large (for an apt) and freshly painted and well maintained. The grounds are beautiful (most only have concrete and no green space). The staff is very responsive (they answer their phone, where most complexes do not). They also work well together in managing the tenants and facility. They even help with my father's special need for handrails in the bathroom. After all the research I did visiting other complexes I found Sugar Mill to have the most for the money. I found most were not responsive in taking a phone call on first call or in returning a call. This was NOT the case with the team at Sugar Mill Creek. They quoted me a price and once I signed on they did everything they promised and MORE!!! They are awesome! Since moving in they have proven to me that I made the right decision. Tonya is EXCEPTIONAL and very caring! She has helped to make my father's move and big downsizing a very nice experience. Linda Lurker

Negative experience: The place is good unless your neighbor one of who has Insanity/mental illness. The apartment complex had a lot of them, and they are nice people. To be honest, some times there are annoying sounds came from their apartments. Anyway, I would NOT recommend this place.

Negative experience: Do not rent from these people. If you have a maintenance issue, you will need to call them 10 times before someone will come out to take care of it. When it rains, their garages flood and your stuff will get damaged. (And they will not help you with that flood issue). They also took money off from my security deposit after I had two verbals from their office team that said I was all good. They extended my lease an extra 10 days so I had to pay for that extra 10 days when I had agreements I would be out earlier than that. This place is run by a bunch of lazy, incompetent individuals. You can expect zero customer service from them. Zero professionalism.

Negative experience: I wish I could give, "no stars" to Sugar Mill Creek apartments. WARNING: DO NOT LIVE IN THAT APARTMENT COMPLEX!! Between the car vandalism, residents settings buildings on fire, and monthly breaks in reports, this place was not safe to live in. The air conditioning/heating units are outdated which makes the Vectren bill extremely high for just a "one bed room, one bath" apartment. There's more to list but my recommendation...don't live there.

Negative experience: Where do I even begin? Let me just say, I WOULD NOT recommend this apartment complex. Sure, the office staff seems nice when they're trying to get you to sign a contract for an overpriced apartment, but rest assured, as soon as your finished signing the dotted line, you no longer exist to them. They are rude, uncaring, unprofessional, and should have jobs that are completely exempt from customer service, especially the manager Tonya. The maintenance crew could pass for a bunch of escaped convicts. Recently my neighbor walked outside just in time to witness the maintenance crew all gathered around a detailed naked blowup doll, kicking it. Keep in mind, many families with small children live here, and they were out in the open, with a naked blow up doll. When you look at the complex from Green River rd, you think "That place looks nice." That's because they instruct maintenance and lawn care to keep the front looking nice (grass cut, pond full and blue, plants watered and blooming) but the further you drive into the complex, the uglier it gets. Rotting railroad ties, poorly kept grass and plants, weeds growing in the rocks outside the residents doors, empty/dry ponds full of trash, piles of brush left for weeks from "landscaping", unsafe staircases, and the list just goes on. We pay for carports that, during the winter months, they like to pile the snow in front of so we can't get our cars out without shoveling. Bottom line is, Sugar Mill Creek only cares about locking you into a lease. They absolutely do not care about you or your family and although they claim they're "pet friendly" expect to get harassed about your animals on a constant basis from Tonya. Save yourself some money, and look into any other complex because this one is going downhill fast, while also increasing their rent for no justifiable reason what so ever.

Negative experience: the neighbors pipes bang against the wall at such a loud volume everytime they use hot water and maintenance says nothing can be done. it sound like someone is hitting the ceiling with a hammer. seriously
