Negative experience: Average places. Will raise the rent every year, but does nothing to improve or maintain the property. Had a tree from the other property they own, fall into our yard. Sent several maintenance requests and had them all closed without inspection. We ended up buying a chainsaw and having to do it ourselves. Tenant support is useless and answered by someone that you can't understand. They will send you a dozen emails for payment, but can't fix anything in a reasonable timeframe. I've had to call to get my statement fixed and encountered nothing but problems in doing so. Just be wary of them, they are not honest.

Fantastic experience: The technician was very efficient and courteous. He did a great job and explained to me that he was able to get the issue resolved and it was resolved and now I have no issues with.

Negative experience: Worst experience ever, can't speak to anyone locally, wait days on days for a response back. Nothing is considered an emergency, not my busted pipes nor the sewer backing up in my yard & my basement! I don't see how the owner of Rent Depot can sleep at night knowing good & well he wouldn't live in these conditions!!! Do not, I repeat do not rent from these people. Ever since April left the company, everything, I mean everything has gone downhill.

Fantastic experience: I e only been a resident with rent depot for 2 months and they have addressed every concern or issue that I have ever had or experienced. It's been wonderful and I really appreciate the staff and all of the maintenance workers!

Negative experience: Knew about a bat infestation issue at a property and failed to disclose to potential tenants causing them severe emotional and physical harm. Do not rent from or trust these people with your money or time

Fantastic experience: Great landlord! Maintenance requests are fulfilled next day, or by latest same week. Maintenance guys are the best, they’re always punctual and on time. And the company’s they use for repairing any heating, they’ve gotten come early and quick. I highly recommend Rent Depot

Negative experience: Rent depot is horrible. I would not recommend living anywhere they own. They refuse to let me end my lease early after giving them more than a 30 day notice and following all rules for termination of the lease. They have entered my apartment without telling me and turning my AC on to have it run when I’m no longer living there but still having to pay the utilities due to the lease not being over. That’s breaking contract and they state they haven’t been in there, umm I turned it off and y'all the only other people with keys to my apartment. Property management is very disrespectful and will tell you one thing and then go back and tell you another. I will never live somewhere with them owning it ever again.

Fantastic experience: The new Rent Depot staff are amazing!!! So many improvements and involvement I’m totally amazed. The daily interactions with the personnel on grounds are positive and enjoyable. These people really care! Best property managers I’ve ever had and I’ve been everywhere in 22 years military! Kudos Rent Depot!!!!

Negative experience: A friend had a bad raccoon problem for over 4 months. They were tearing up the insulation, ripping at light fixtures and wiring. She contacted Rent Depot multiple times with pictures and videos. They sent a maintenance guy out a couple times, caught some and then dumped them somewhere. They returned and got back into the attic because the hole was never patched. This last time the maintenance person patched the hole and set up traps in the attic. My friend asked multiple times for someone to come out because she believed it had been caught. The maintenance person would tell her he was on his way and never show up. The raccoon sat in her attic without food or water for a week before it finally died. The heat recently has been horrible and she tried so hard to get them to come out. This poor animal starved to death, what an inhumane way to get rid of an animal. Rent Depot you should be ashamed!!

Negative experience: I’m in business myself & it hurts me to leave such a negative review. Absolutely the WORST lease I’ve ever been in. The communication is absolutely horrible. Literally take days, sometimes weeks to reply. The maintenance crew is absolutely horrible as well.

Negative experience: Do Not Rent from this place they're unprofessional. BYPASS and Rent elsewhere save yourself the anguish.

Negative experience: Horrible communication skills. After we moved out we were told if there were any changes to the property that needed to be made they would contact us so we can correct it in order to get a full deposit back. No one contacted us, even after we reached out and they took the "repairs" out of the deposit. $500 fee for each year of residence I guess is enough reason to keep it. Then $25 for light bulbs which I did not check about replacing so, my bad. Then $180 for paint and repairs, mind you the walls were only primed when we moved in. I found this out when I used a magic eraser to spot clean messes only to find drywall underneath. Anytime we needed to contact them, it felt like we were an inconvenience and the communication skills only deteriorated overtime. Don't waste your time. It might seem like a good price but it's honestly not worth it.

Fantastic experience: Rent Depot is the best rental company in the area. They will make sure they work with you to get you approved for a place to live. The steps are simple, and hassle free. They will guide you throughout the way. The rent is very affordable and they take care of any major or minor problems that might occur at their properties. At times most may go through rough times financially while renting and they will work with you to help you get your rent paid to avoid eviction if needed, as long as you comply accordingly. The property manager April is a very understanding and very caring person that will work with you when times get a little rough. Thanks Rent Depot I am very happy to know I chose the best rental company after moving to the Princeton/ Evansville area from Northwest Indiana. I would recommend them to everyone who are looking for a nice place to stay.

Although all those I've worked with during the past year or so have been wonderful, I mainly work with April. She is by FAR one of the most attentive, friendly, on top of things property manager I've ever had the pleasure to work with. She TRULY cares about the tenant's having a clean, safe place to live while also helping to ensure that as a owner they get me fair pricing for repairs. I trust her so much that when I'm looking to acquire new properties and I'm between a couple, I always ask her opinion on the area of each, verify my thoughts on rents, etc before I move on them, because she always shoots straight with me....even if that means she's gotta hear me ask, "so we're SURE this is a no go area?" Haha! Being an out of state owner can be hard if you don't have your core teams in place, and Rent Depot is one of my pillars for growing in the Evansville market. Thank you for all the great work so far, and I look forward to many more amazing years to come!

Negative experience: Multiple issues. Very glad to not be living under Rent Depot anymore. Appears most reviews are Bot reviews. Talked with Laura before moving in. Asked about any water leaks in the basement. Every time it rained hard water leaked into the basement. I purchased a really nice dehumidifier. The price for rent the 1st year was reasonable. But by year two and three my rent had gone up by $200. Right after Covid. The few years I was there, the water would get backed up and I couldn’t run water for long periods of time without water/sewage would back up into my laundry machine. I would call for a tech. Make the appointment and 80% of the time they would show up when they wanted. Rent depot says it’s a different company that does Maintenance, but when the techs would come out, they acted like it was one big company, and they all knew each other. One year my furnace went out in the middle of a winter storm. Okay it happens sure. Waking up at 4am to see your breath wasn’t fun. Called the emergency tech line. Spoke to a person. That person said for me to turn my heat lower. I explained that I have no heat. Somewhere between the emergency number and Rent Depot the report showed that I had heat and to cancel the dispatch, because I turned the heat too high. No communication from rent depot or the company that was going to come out and look at it. No one showed til the following Tuesday. Only to look at my furnace and say this is one of the oldest units he had seen, and there was no way the parts team had the part we needed. Week later it was fixed on Monday. Thank goodness for my space heater. On my last year, my water did not drain for 6 weeks. Tech after tech could not solve the issue. They explained the large tree in the front yard was the issue for the backup. Each time they tried, they pulled out roots and mud. During this time, I did my best to flush or not flush my toilet. Taking 60 second showers. The water was going no where besides my basement floor. After 2 weeks of water not draining I talked to the Head maintenance person and explained to him I would be moving out in 6 weeks. I was on a month to month lease. I went online I filled out the move out information. Moved to a new place. Waited on my security deposit. Wasn’t a huge deal just waiting and waiting. 3 months later I have bill for an extra month of rent charge. I called and asked what that issue was, and they explained I did not give a month heads up for move out. They had no record online showing I wanted to move out. But my reoccurring monthly rent charge had stopped appearing the day I moved out and had agreed to be out. I paid that fee against the better judgment of my friends and family. Did not want to deal with the headache of future complications for places of residence because of one scummy company. It has been 7 months since I’ve moved out of Rent Depot. The top few sentences was my review a month after I moved out. It was time for me to give a better and more accurate review. If any lawyers read this and feel we have a case, feel free to reach out.

Positive experience: One of the many low life companies that restricts dogs for their breeds. One day we will be able to count that as discrimination. Plenty of evidence from from the dog community, vets, and researchers that's breeds don't mean anything. It's the owner. God forbid you get licked by my pit bull. A dog more terrified of fireworks and storms than anything. Grow up. I looked at your houses with roaches but you care about my dog when most bites come from small dogs that are not reported.

Then I responded in the chat area and the claim they reached out to me but I sat in front of their property for 45 minutes and they still have not offered an apology for any inconvenience this has caused me. To gehtto for me. Called to many times to speak to someone and no one answered like come on....

They have two of the best maintenance men that I have met and all of my life, I really don't want to put the full name out there but one of the guys names starts with a B and the other gentleman's name starts with a M. I'm very satisfied with the outcome that has been developed I greatly appreciate it!!!

I've had no power in my duplex because of an old breaker box, he came out personally to assist in every way he could, called me from his personal cell to set up further repairs, and made sure that my family and I were comfortable until a more permanent fix could be made. I couldn't have asked for a better person to come through to take care of us! Forever grateful for his efficiency & timely response!
