2 months ago Fantastic experience: I just started renting with Alpine and have to say so far we are pleased. We payed the application fee, which was yes a bit pricey for the both of us but we got accepted and found an affordable house to rent. No major problems with the house, just some minor things we mentioned in our report. Once we picked it out, they were very transparent. I see a lot of people complain about the application fee and emails. They do the emails only in the beginning so that they have a paper trail of everything. They can't handle 100's of calls everyday regarding the beginning process. Alpine responded to all our emails in a timely manner. After we made our first payment and got our keys, we then were able to call and speak to someone directly. It goes from Alpine Leasing to the office next door (Property Management) after you get a place. You can call them anytime for maintenance and call about anything regarding online payment. Anyone who says you can't call and get someone is lying. The payment portal is simple and straightforward. We just had a maintenance guy come fix our fridge. So far, we are pleased with Alpine and would recommend them to anyone. I think for the people complaining, it seems like yes they paid the application fee and didn't get accepted, which is a loss but might be because of their employment, criminal record or rental history and they don't want to admit it. Alpine is not a scam company so if you're looking for a rental just go through the email process and once you are set to move in the rest is smooth sailing. Thank you Alpine :)

3 months ago Negative experience: I rented from Alpine for a couple of years. Now I am looking to get a reference so I can look for another place to rent, but Alpine does not answer their phones. Do. NOT rent from this "company".

3 months ago Negative experience: Absolutely the worst place to rent. They will file eviction on you quick. They filed on us for them losing their records of our payments. Very unprofessional and shameful. Do not rent from this clowns.

3 months ago Positive experience: Lucrative process but is fast & affective. Found the approval email in the Spam folder but they also send an approval text. Overall had plenty of housing to choose from & the contract is reasonable. They will work with you. I’m a felon frm over 7 yrs ago with 630 credit & they approved me. The cheaper the house, the more problems that will come with it as far as looks & maintenance.
4 months ago Fantastic experience: I’ve been renting from alpine since 2019. Two different homes. I am very pleased with alpine. We’ve had plumbing issues that were resolved in the past and most recently a tree fell on top of the detached garage they fixed that also. In these last years I’ve also had a stove replaced and a new boiler. I decided to review because they definitely are great landlords. My application process was also pretty easy, I’ve had to apply twice since they sold my first rented home, give them a chance I’m not saying they’re perfect. But they do fix things and always respond to emails. Also you can go to their offices and aren’t faceless landlords like other companies!!
6 months ago Negative experience: Yeah these people are scamming. Lol be careful applying. Luckily I’m blessed enough to go spend my funds with a different company. They should be reported and shut down. I’ve sent everything over they keep sending an email with the same messages like no one is reading or comprehending the replies. Not wasting my time lol. 8 months ago Negative experience: We're more than qualified to rent from this company. No evictions, we've owned several homes, positive work history, and good credit. Their communication was sub par, and staff can not spell. We opted to go a different direction, when they asked for a deed to a "trailor." It's trailer, and they have titles. Choose wisely!

9 months ago Negative experience: Extremely unprofessional. Heather swears at the tenants & calls them names. She purposely causes issues for the tenants, such as refusing rent payments then filing for eviction because we "didn't pay rent". All this in retaliation for calling the health department because the ceiling fell through onto my 8 year old daughters head. That was over a year ago, and the ceiling still hasn't been fixed. ETA: I was not evicted. The eviction that was filed for non-payment is because they were refusing to let me pay my rent. It was dismissed. I'm disabled & I don't drive & I've been denied access to the ability to pay my rent online. Instead, I have to pay close to 100 dollars to take a Lyft to the bank, the rental office, and back home. This is all in retaliation to my calling the health department because a family of squirrels was living in my child's room due to holes in the ceiling & wall. We spent a total of 5 weeks in a hotel over the past year because of this.

10 months ago Negative experience: I filled out an application and paid the $65 fee and now am unable to reach anyone. I don’t know if they received it, if it was missing something or ? I have not spoken to a human yet! I think it’s a fraudulent site!

10 months ago Negative experience: This is one of the worst companies you could ever do business with. I spent 2 years renting one of their properties. They are impossible to get a hold of, provide no help with communications, and take advantage of lower class families by tacking on insane late fees. Not to mention, their outdated website randomly cut off my autopay twice during my two year stint without warning me, and I only found out through a $100 late fee that they tag onto the account. And they don't take any phone calls, so I had to dispute this by email with Heather. Absolutely horrendous experience all around.

10 months ago Negative experience: Alpine is a joke! They rent out CRAP houses and do not maintain them. There staff is rude, uneducated, and fraudulent. We signed a lease for one amount per month and they charged us an additional $75 a month on top of what we signed to pay. They do not reply in a timely fashion or answer all questions asked. They are unprofessional and careless. Do not rent from Alpine

10 months ago Negative experience: If I could give this place a negative five stars I would. I paid my $65 application fe, sent all the paperwork they wanted. I have a credit score of 720. I have a full-time job that I've been there for years and I never heard anything back from this company. Besides two texts telling me that they were processing my application and that's it. At the same time, I told one of my friends about this company. They applied and paid their application fee. Their credit is great as well and they never heard anything back from this company also. I feel like this company is a scam and they take everybody sixty five dollars and pocket it. Beware. This company has been reported to the Indiana attorney general as well as Indiana housing authority office.

11 months ago Negative experience: If you’re wondering why their rentals are so cheap but look half decent, it’s because they scam you. They pull you in with these cheap rentals they have listed and make you apply with a fee just to view their property. Then they’ll deny you without any clear reason. And I’m sure they get a lot of people who apply to view their properties because they mark the prices down so cheap. Steer away from this company, they shouldn’t be allowed to put listings up. They shouldn’t even be a company. And from reading the other reviews, this is a common occurrence.

11 months ago Negative experience: This company is hands down the worst property management group I have ever worked with. The property manager Heather Brauchia is incredibly unprofessional, disrespectful, and hostile. She expects us to respond promptly when she emails us but will ignore our emails and sometimes never even respond. She has a superiority complex and thinks that she runs the world. We have rented for them for years out of necessity, not because we want to. We have had many issues including them losing our rent checks that we had mailed and lying about it to cover it up. They tried charging us late fees for their screw up. They are impossible to get ahold of and almost never answer the phone even during their scheduled work hours.

I filled out two applications and they took my money from both applications and kept it and didn’t process the applications. Then I tried to email them with the email they were talking to me with and I’m blocked now and I can no longer message them. You also can’t call them because it doesn’t go to anyone. No one picks up.

11 months ago Negative experience: I have been renting with Alpine for 4 years now, have been stellar renters as we have only been late on rent *ONE* time in *4* years. I found a bigger home available through Alpine more suitable for my now teenage daughters and my mother, that was well within our price range. Our current home is 700 square foot, and we have outgrown it. They insisted we (my mother and i) apply, which we did, paying the $130 fee. We turned in all of the necessary paperwork, and waited, to find out we were denied. We have 0 reason to be denied. Our rental history is spectacular, which they know first hand. We have been great renters, as we have been little to no bother, even when we should have been given the state of our current home. I am completely disappointed in who we CHOOSE to rent with, and if they can't accommodate us with a larger home, we won't be resigning any lease.

Furthermore, some of their rental locations have been on the news for the roof collapsing. DO NOT LEASE WITH THIS COMPANY

1 year ago Negative experience: I feel that I am being scammed. I filled out an application for a pre-approval. I was approved for any property with rent up to 1,000. I sent 2 addresses to tour, could not get the info to schedule the tour. Got like 3 messages from an agent. Saw tge inside on 1 of the two properties because the second locations pin didn't work. The first property was trashed on the inside. Asked to view other properties and i keep being sent links to apply for a pre-approval and pay the fee again.

1 year ago Negative experience: I would give them less than a star if I could these people are SCAMMERS. I applied for a 1200.00 monthly rent and make 3800 a month they denied me based on income. Been on my job 14 years, they said they couldn’t verify my employment LIARS. DO NOT GIVE YOUR MONEY TO THESE PEOPLE. Vinebrook is better. I have a 3 bedroom 2 full bath basement in nice neighborhood for 1400. I’m glad they denied me!

1 year ago Negative experience: These people are scammers I put an application in and they give you 5 BUSINESS days to submit everything I put in my application during a weekday on a Tuesday which means I had till Monday to send everything in . Which Tuesday to Monday is 5 business days . On Sunday I got a text denying my application , I responded and told them it hadn’t been 5 business days the first and only reply I got back from them was an email I can submit my documents to . Monday I submit everything including a 15 month rental ledger from my landlord and I make 3x the rent on the property I applied at not 2.5x but 3x the rent & this is the message everyone I know that’s tried to go thew them gets “Liliana Flores heitzman( my name ) Your rental application has unfortunately been denied for insufficient rental reference. One or more of the following apply - Unsatisfactory payment history. Person listed as landlord unable to verify ownership of property. Failure to provide Rental Ledger. Rent rate significantly lower than rental applying for. Rent referrence not accepted. Alpine Leasing Team” but yet my rental ledger my monthly rent I currently pay costs more than the property I applied at . If you plan to go through them I can provide proof of my email and screenshots from the company . I paid 65$ to not even get in contact with a single person

1 year ago Fantastic experience: I just wanted to say thank you for all the comments. My mother and I was going to apply but after reading the reviews we have decided to move forward. We don't have time to just be wasting money to an unprofessional company. I will be reporting them to the better business bureau because in my opinion this isn't fair for people to pay and don't get any type of assistance. what business has no way to contact them, its just a sad excuse to not take accountability for their faulty business practices!!! but to keep collecting money. to your response I get you there but then why are there over 20+ better business reports, everyone speaking the same tune and don't know each other but their story's are some what similar that's kind of weird but you don't have to worry about me I won't be applying EVER I'm not and idiot. 1 year ago Negative experience: If you notice any negative review gets the same reply, so here is mine (watch i will get the same reply as everyone else) this is a true story im not making it up just to see the reply.... I paid 130 because I had to pay 65 per each adult over 18, submitted everything they asked for, got a reply saying they needed a copy of a utility bill, sent that in only to get a reply saying they needed a 12 month rent ledger, sent that in, waited 3 days and I finally texted them back (which was how they were communicating with me through text) and asked how long it took before I would know how much I qualified for only for them to answer back that I was denied for one of the following reasons and listed like 4 different things, when I replied that I sent in everything they asked for and that I know I made enough money for 3× the rent amount, they responded with I didn't provide a 12 month rent ledger and when I told them I did they said I didn't provide this month's (March) I told them that that was being paid tonight when I got off work (this was on March 14th my payday) sent them proof it was paid, nothing didn't hear nothing from them, texted them on 3/18 again nothing from them, texted again on 3/20 asking again how long til I would know the amount I qualified for, and on 3/21 was sent the same denial text that listed the same 4 different reasons. So yes this place is a scam and only out to get your money I should have read the reviews before I gave them 130 dollars!!!!!!

They always have the same reviews for years “can’t get in contact with them” or “the scam me for my money” .. do y’all not read the reviews before you guys go put in your application. I can’t even be mad at Alpine nomore because for years they always had the same complaints. Every year when my lease is up. I get on here and see the same complaints from different people. So if everyone is kind of saying the same thing and they don’t know each other , then it has to be some truth to it right??? 1 year ago Negative experience: Update 2/25/2025: It seems Alpine has decided the best way to handle poor business practices resulting in negative reviews is, instead of addressing safety concerns or acknowledging room for improvement, they choose a copy-paste deflection that boils down to: We’re perfect. Everyone else is wrong. Making statements like reviewers "have nothing better to do" than write bad reviews is a failure to listen to your teachers --the people who *pay your salary*. This free data is giving you valuable input on how to improve your grade. All while claiming to stop responding to reviews altogether. Ironically, their response only reinforces everything I originally pointed out. Everything. Thanks Rather than engaging constructively with feedback, they doubled down on dismissing concerns, insisting reviews are false, and touting their internal processes as flawless. Their claim that most complaints are from people who “report false information and give misleading details” is exactly the type of defensive, blame-shifting attitude I highlighted before. I have no rental history and no bad payment history and they tried to say I had bad payment history and no landlord reference which is bullshit because I definitely had one was just my grandmother who I pay rent to they never tried to even call her or anything! 1 year ago Negative experience: Paid $65 for an application with no eviction or anything and they left me without any explanation until I asked and then somehow they sent a message to the co-applicant saying we were denied. I am a mother of a 3 year old . In order to view the home I had to pay for the application and no one never got back for to view the home . I am terribly depressed because my current lease is coming to an end . This is very sad and unfortunate this company is scamming .

1 year ago Negative experience: Pretty sure this company is a scam. I paid 65$ for an application and have yet to hear from anyone. I tried calling but there is no one you can talk to only an automated voice message that repeats itself over and over. No one has reached out to me even though I sent in a communication request. None of their rentals are even listed on rent.com

1 year ago Negative experience: Ridiculous process. Unable to talk to anyone until you get approved. They take payment for the application but your unable to schedule a showtime or speak with an actual human being until after your approved. I live with my parents so I was unable to upload the document they needed for rental history and I was automatically denied.

1 year ago Negative experience: Been at my house for almost a year, and it has become inhabitable. No insulation, holes in the ceiling, floor sinking in, broken window… the list goes on. Dirty needles in the garage when i first moved in, and the garage door wasnt even attached. Took almost a month to fix. And changed the dead bolts but gave me the wrong key! Overall this place is garbage!! And of course no call backs from sent emails nor a working number to actually talk to someone. Only have 2 months left on my lease, but i dont think I’ll make it. DO NOT RENT FROM THESE PEOPLE!!!!

1 year ago Negative experience: SCAMMERS. You cannot talk to anyone you cannot see anyone until you pay the $65 AND you're pre-approved. This company has deceptive practices. You have to pay $65 just to view their homes in person. They make that clear you have to get a pre-approval but in order to get the pre-approval you have to pay $65 and I'm guessing is non-refundable. My credit score is well over 700. My income is over 70,000. My rental history is A1. I'm reading the reviews NOW and they say do not give these people a chance because you may not be pre-approved and you will lose your $65. I'm hoping my $65 is refundable since I never saw a house. Stay away from ALPINE LEASING.

1 year ago Negative experience: I don't think it's fair that I lost $65 that you made me pay, just to MAYBE be able to view the home. That is such a rip off and bigger companies aren't doing that. I tried to give you guys the benefit of the doubt but all I wanted to do was see the home before I spend a lot of money on an application...and of course no real customer service to speak with. It doesn't feel very legal the way you are going about things just to get applications and money.

1 year ago Negative experience: DO NOT RECOMMEND. My mom has paid her rent up until current month. She received an email about them filing and eviction. Upon checking the ledger, shows some late fees, a payment due for the current month and an eviction fee. How is an eviction filed if she’s in that current month of rent being due??? When she reached out via email, HEATHER was rude and offered no help or explanation. The rent also goes up every yr even though they have done no upkeep or fixing of the property. If I could give 0 stars, I would.

1 year ago Fantastic experience: My real estate / agent guy was/is JC. We met yesterday We were able to set up a showing. We were able to ask about the property and the process. JC seemed pretty down to earth not snobby like I have read on some reviews. I was sent a link within 24 hours of letting them know I wanted the house to make a deposit. So far the process was not too bad. The whole automated text thing does cause anxiety. But they do communicate eventually. I’ll let everyone know how move in day goes. Thanks!
1 year ago Negative experience: Been a renter from yall for 6 years and been trying to get a copy of my lease from you for a month. No one answers the phone, the door, an email, literally nothing. I saw in the reviews Alpine commented they review these daily. Well maybe if I ask for a copy of my lease here I can atleast get a response! Yall are an awful AWFUL company

I will like to urge everyone considering renting from this company to avoid doing so. I have read the BBB revies and complaints and have read the Google reviews as well. Hopefully the company comes under investigation for it's practices. UPDATE : I have never applied to this company for housing. Yet I do believe the people I have spoken with have no reason to give a false or misleading statement. These companies practice policies that do not assist a second chance person. They outright asked for PHOTOS of my social security card, and the request was made after I'd paid the fee. EDIT: The response that was given below is laughable. Nothing I've said is false. I was not denied, nor was my application even processed. Alpine, if you believe my claims are false, you can sue me for libel. 1 year ago Negative experience: It's really unfortunate that this company is still operating. I was approved for anything up to $1300. The first home I wanted to see was rented, but it took 48 hours for them to respond to the request to see the home. So I tell them another home I was interested in seeing... chile I go in and I counted 13 dead roaches throughout the kitchen. I was informed that the maintenance didn't do their job and clean after they bombed the house but I could still rent it and they would clean it up before I moved in. Next house I seen smelled like dog a very pungent smell the counter top was stained the ceiling in one of the bedrooms looked like it was ready to cave in and I declined this house as well. The man told me this house had a high turnover rate. Then they had the AUDACITY to text me and let me know my application had expired and I could reapply. They should give me my app fee back and gas money for wasting my time.

1 year ago Negative experience: They don't even give the option to tour the houses before applying. Had a relator contact me to do a showing but immediately said for me to apply and when I asked about seeing it before applying there was no response (poor communication). This is definitely fraudulent especially when you have to pay a fee just to apply for a house that you haven't even seen the inside of(who does that?). Also I think it's funny that they want to say that all these people are giving false info yet we're all coming to the same conclusion... Go ahead and try to say it's false when there's about 10 more reviews saying the same thing lol

1 year ago Negative experience: It’s time to put this POS company out of business! Customer service should be #1 because WE THE PEOPLE are the reason this company even operates so keep that in mind!! They wanted a rent ledger I couldn’t provide bc I been living with family in order to save up for my own place, but they make it hard to get in touch with anybody to clarify your issues just so they can take your app fees which in my opinion is ridiculously high for their homes. They are not good business-def not really trying to help us so I would advise if you have family or even a shelter/etc go there instead!!!!! Beware. ..they are not for us!!!

1 year ago Negative experience: I was approved for a rent of $825. I found a house renting for $895 and the renter agreed to rent the property for $850 so I set up an appointment to see the house. The day of the showing, I get an email that the renter changed his mind and won’t rent for less than the original price so they were canceling my showing. I found another house renting for $850 and requested a showing only for them to remind me of my approval amount and suggested a different property. I finally agreed to accept this offer and requested to see the house on Friday (July 5th) or Saturday (July 6th). I was informed the office doesn’t do showings on the weekend which was not beneficial to me. It was frustrating how they were willing to let me rent the property for $850, but then wouldn’t change it later.

1 year ago Negative experience: I can’t believe that they are saying that these ratings are lies lol, y’all call them right now and see if you can get ahold of anyone lol you have to pay the 65$ application fee before you even see the house to know if you want it lol should be the easiest place to qualify for, I think they stack up application fees until they reach a certain amount of money then they rent it out to someone. I decided to do some foot work and went to a few homes they have listed and ran into the owner of the home and he informed me that they DO NOT WORK WITH ALPINE/317RENTALS. So with that info pics and more I took it to the police because they had scammed my elderly mother out of money and are offering homes for rent that are already rented and way below asking price and also knowing this they still collect people money it’s sad. So now y’all can deal with IMPD take care .

THEY ARE RUNNING A SCAM AND I AM NOT SURE HOW THERE HASN'T BEEN SOME LAWSUIT AGAINST THEM JUST YET. PAY ATTENTION, ALL THEIR HOMES HAVE BEEN LISTED FOR 90+ DAYS SOME AS HIGH AS 190+ DAYS WITH OVER 600 CONTACTS MADE TO THEM ON THAT SINGLE PROPERTY. THERE IS NO WAY THAT OVER 600 PEOPLE WERE DENIED FOR THE SAME CHEAP OUTDATED HOME. THEY ARE LITERALLY RUNNING A SCAM BY CHARGING PEOPLE APPLICATION FEES WITH ABSOLUTELY NO INTENTION ON RENTING THE HOME. I COMPLETED AN APP FOR MY BROTHER SINCE HE'S ALWAYS BUSY WITH WORK. MY BROTHER HAS PHENOMENAL RENTAL HISTORY, HIS CREDIT SCORE IS 687, NO EVICTIONS, NO JUDGEMENTS , BEEN AT HIS CURRENT JOB FOR NEARLY 4 YEARS ...HE IS THEE PERFECT CANDIDATE. THEY SENT HIM A GENERIC DENIAL LIKE THEY SEEM TO DO EVERYONE ELSE that reads " Insufficient Income Insufficient Rental History Insufficient Employment History Negative Tenant Performance/Rental History Eviction Filing/Unlawful Detainer Failure To Provide Required Documents Outstanding Or Past Due Utility Bill / Current Disconnect Notice Delinquent / Derogatory Credit Minimum Tenancy Screening Score Not Met Other:" They do not give an actual reason. My brother didn't sweat it because he was approved through First Key Homes for a much nicer looking home 2 days later. But the point is, these people are making bank from application fees . For example, if you type in the address 701 N Euclid Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46201 you'll see that it's been posted on Zillow for 190 days $895 a month, with 731 contacts made to Alpine....now I know contacts don't mean that they've applied, but theres a great chance that a good amount of those people applied, let's say about half those contacts actually applied that means Alpine would have made $23,725 in a 190 day timeframe, which is MUCH HIGHER than the $10,740 they would have made had they actually rented the home out for 12 months. READ BETWEEN THE LINES PEOPLE, THIS IS A SCAM UPDATE- so after they seen my post, they removed that home they had listed for nearly 200 days that I mentioned previously, trying to cover their tracks because they know it looks suspicious and raises questions. But type in 2214 E 40th St, Indianapolis, IN 46205, been on the market for 126 days nearly 200 contacts.... they're just collecting application fees and getting rich from it. Can't wait til someone take these folks to court. I spoke with a lawyer about them and they said they've been waiting to get their hands on Alpine lol

2 years ago Negative experience: This place is a joke. I was approved 5/9/2024 never heard a word from them. No one ever reached out, never returned my calls, never answer the phone or anything. I’ve never in my life been approved for anything and not have someone reach out or try to contact me about approval. You can only text them because they never answer the phone and they only respond to text once every other week. This company is the most unprofessional company I’ve ever seen in my entire life.

2 years ago Negative experience: They suck at communication. i have been preapproved for 3 weeks yet no agent reached out. i emailed, live chatted, attempted to call but only automated systems. yet to finally get a response with their website being accurate yet i ask to see houses and they aren’t available anymore yet on their website. i told them i needed to move immediately in the application and with their houses “over turning so quickly” you think they’d reach out quicker than that with accurate listings

2 years ago Negative experience: This place is a joke me and my wife applied for a house that the payment was only 950 a month between me and my wife’s income we make about $150,000 a year. My wife alone makes $70,000 a year now we applied in her name because I am a barber so I don’t have paystub’s but we have we have had good rental history the past three residents in the time span of seven years the only poor thing about my wife’s name is her credit score is not great, but she’s been with her job for eight years and is on a salary position. How do you deny somebody that not to mention the house that we were applying for, is less than our current rent where we have been for three years. So I would really like to know what basis they stand on to deny. This is a joke not to mention the $65 that we have to pay just to fill it out. I think it’s a money scheme and I’m going to do my due diligence and look into it because I feel like they deny people over and over again just to collect the $65 I will be in touch with the Better Business Bureau. This leasing company is a straight scam.

2 years ago Positive experience: I was nervous to apply because of the reviews but I applied and got approved for up to $1300. I also got approved to buy a home so, I'll be going that route and will not be using Alpine but, I just wanted to add a review since the reviews discouraged me so much... I will say the only bad thing, they do NOT talk to you, like at all. U just randomly get approved a week later and its through a text message. I don't like that but the approval process wasnt hard at all.
2 years ago Negative experience: Got denied for "rent history significantly lower than required". I paid 1050$ a month and was applying for a 950 apartment. No communication at all from them. Don't waste your money on the fee. Go find someone else.

2 years ago Negative experience: Paid application fee and got a call a few days later that’s about all that was good. We talked to a guy about the property we were looking at renting and the deposit was 450 then somehow it changed to 750. Then apparently I don’t make enough even tho I work 2 jobs that pay pretty well and make about 5x the rental amount. Then was told I have to pay $900 then the $750 deposit on top of first months rent $775. They will come up with anything to get money out of you avoid at all cost. They said the $900 would take $75 off rent for the year so are rent would be cheaper.

2 years ago Negative experience: I fill out a application today and it denied me.im just trying to talk to someone to see why.i make 20 and hour and work 60 hour a week.i get paid every two weeks. That's 2600 every two weeks before taxs.i live in stone lake apartments. I been here over 4 years.i live in a one bedroom apartment first.now I live in a two I been here like 3 years same apartment complex. No eviction.my credit is 560..can someone please let me know. 2 years ago Negative experience: This place is an absolute joke and a literally scam. I’ve been helping a co-worker who is Hispanic deal with these people and they literally tried to scam her. She moved out of a residence and they attempted to charge her rent after she returned the keys because they don’t regularly monitor their properties and a squatter got in the home. She moved because the unit had no heat and they refused to fix the issue. She applied for another home with the company and they took her application fee and never called her back. Heather is EXTREMELY unprofessional. Paul is little less unprofessional but still extremely unhelpful and rude. PLEASE AVOID THIS COMPANY! DO NOT APPLY FOR A HOME AND PAY BECAUSE IF YOU DO ANY RESEARCH, YOU WILL SEE THEY ARE ACTUALLY STEALING PEOPLES MONEY.

I've tried multiple times to contact them, but have had no luck. They sure don't mind taking people's money though....Good try on the response. 2 years ago Negative experience: WARNING DO NOT RENT FROM THESE SCAM ARTISTS. The incompetence is off the charts. Office hours 10am to 1pm and they close for lunch. No one answers the emergency maintenance line. Check everything as in actually move appliances away from walls. I rented a house with appliances that house a mice infestation, broken windows, and a stench that came from the furnace turning on that compares to the smell of death. 2 weeks so far and no one can answer. Yes that means no Christmas dinnersave yourselves a nightmare and DO NOT RENT FROM THESE PEOPLE!

I should have read the reviews BEFORE GIVING THEM ANY THING ! but if they can live with it , I can live with out it ... Our bills are not behind we make good money a month been on our jobs for years ....denied ! This place does not do proper lease or credit investigations if they did they would know. 2 years ago Fantastic experience: I was a little weary at first because of the slower response times but I can be impatient at times. I got approved and they showed me a home I liked and now I’m moving in. A lot of the reviews on here do not reflect the experience of all. It’s true everything is done by text but everything is transparent on there website and what the process looks like. Very happy with my decision to go with alpine leasing.
2 years ago Negative experience: I did my application fee and they took my money I sent in the documents they requested and they never emailed me or reached out to me ! I’m very upset for wasting my money and time ! Plus they don’t have a direct number to talk to a live person. So I will be showing up to their company site !!!

2 years ago Negative experience: Check out their. Questions and Answers comments.. Years later and they still on the same Scam tip. No Call BACK, TEXT,EMAIL, VOICE MAIL, LETTER anything from them regarding your Application. They will take your application fee, then tell you weeks later ,"Oh you never sent in your documents" after you been trying to communicate for weeks or even months. They will advertise a home that is already being rented, let u pay the application fee then tell you the home has already been taken. That's why you pay before you see. What legit management company makes you pay a application fee before you see what your applying for. Then will tell you to apply for another because, YOUR APPLICATIONSL EXPIRED!! 6 years later and they still have 2 stars out of almost 600 . Good review comments are from the past workers, and fake pages. That's why they don't respond to reviews anymore. They can't explain themselves. And if you're looking to apply for a home that's more than what you're already in. They will not let you rent it if your rent is 900 you're looking. At one of the properties that's a thousand they will make you look for a property that's nine hundred or less. Do not and I repeat do not work with them. I done spoke Met text talk with this company within 6 years from 2019- up til now and they still on the same bS. They pick and choose who they want to deal with if you look like you gone make them do some work they wont bother with you. But they know whos Really desperate and don't care That's who they will work with because they know they won't get reported

2 years ago Negative experience: I was accepted for some of the houses. Had a viewing set up for 2 (one after the other) for the very next day. Showed up to the first one and no one showed up to see the house. I waited for 30 mins. Did not even attempt to go to the second house. Very poor business they have. No phone conversation only text or email. Until you get into the house.

I still don't know why I was denied they never responded to any of my Messages so I am just out of the money with no recourse. I'm very frustrated and the last thing I wanted is to loose money when I'm trying to find housing.

2 years ago Negative experience: I scheduled a showing to see one of their properties and no one showed up. The appt was confirmed by an automated text the day before. I had to take time off work to go to the showing. Extremely frustrating and disappointing. Tried calling the office multiple times after waiting 10 mins after the scheduled time for the showing and it is a recorded greeting with no option to speak to someone or leave a message. I’m glad I dodged a bullet from renting from a company that doesn’t respect potential tenants or their time.

2 years ago Negative experience: You supply them with check stubs twice and pay them the money they want, go to there office twice and was told someone would get in touch with you again nothing. Not denied or approved. No call just steal your money and go on without any answers. It's a shame feeling we were discriminated against. Have a friend of 10 years referred them to me. He has rented from them for 6 years. Crooked company as far as I'm concerned.

2 years ago Negative experience: I will give rate this at a negative star if given the chance. In five years I never seen the landlord! The house was infested with mouse dropping and mold. Holes in the roof as was a factor. We also had power outlets not working. When we renting a house we thought they would want to keep up the mantinence but we were sorely mistaken. We told them about the holes in roof and they raised our rent. I believe that's retaliation but I'm not a lawyer. On top of all that , we moved out and they are trying too make us pay for damages for normal wear and tear. If trying to rent from here my advice is simply DON'T we had to move due to health concerns for my family. In my opinion Alpine leasing is the true definition of a slum lord

3 years ago Positive experience: I, so far have had a good experience working with Alpine Leasing. Everything is explained on their website. I applied, sent necessary documentation and by the next week I was approved even without the best rental history. Other reviews mention they don’t answer but literally EVERYTHING is explained on their website and once approved, they will text with the next steps.

3 years ago Fantastic experience: Actually I had no issues they are very strict for sure you have a time limit to get all documents in , once you are approved they will respond you immediately maintenence was great stayed with them for 3 years. Every issue I had even with my daughter having bad asthma and no central air they got me 2 AC units.
3 years ago Negative experience: This is a scam to get your application money, period. Don't let whomever is writing the replies tell you it is just people that were denied. It is a scam, plain an simple. They give generic reasons as to why you "may" have been denied. None of which applies to me. But, hey, everything happens for a reason and clearly this was not the company for me to lease from. Dodged a bullet!!!! UPDATE: I closed on my house on March 14, 2023 but I'm not good enough to rent from them, pfff. Shows just how they do business.

Most of their slumish properties aren't even worth the scores they want you to have. I've NEVER HEEN EVICTED/CRIMINALLY CHARGED WOTH ANYTHING/ but they've treated me like my income & HCV aren't worthy??!!! After reading these reviews, most are almost exactly the same, I have decided to take my money and business elsewhere. This company seems to be very slum-lordish. They only have automated responses to people who have genuine concerns and complaints. I tried to call them to ask questions prior to reading the reviews and couldn't contact anyone. Sent emails too with only an AI generated response... So no thank you. Keep you fraud, roaches and mice to yourself. I just really appreciate those who left reviews. They saved me from waisting 150$. I will be moving with 3 adults and 2 children... (My adult daughter, boyfriend and our 2 kids) .... Huge thank you to all who reviewed this trash company. I hope the original owners of these properties get wise to this company...

3 years ago Negative experience: I am so mad at myself that I did not come and read these reviews before paying $50 for the application fee. I was cosigning for my son, and he was excited about several houses that he saw. I uploaded my pay statement and my ID, but when they asked for a copy of my Social Security card, I said absolutely not. I’m a little concerned that they have my other information. So I lost $50 and just gave somebody my information. I never even heard back because I refuse to give them the documentation they are asking for. I do think this is a scam, and I hope the BBB looks into it.

3 years ago Negative experience: This leasing office is a big scam I submitted two applications and never heard a word when I try to call us office no one picks up you only get a voicemail asking to send you a link for their properties. I have contacted the Indiana Attorney General to file a complaints against Alpine Leasing and I suggest anyone else to have had issues do the same

One or more of the following apply - Unsatisfactory payment history. Person listed as landlord unable to verify ownership of property. Failure to provide Rental Ledger. Rent rate significantly lower than rental applying for. Rent referrence not accepted. Alpine Leasing Team I gave them 2 references because that’s all they asked for, The rest I’m so confused I’ve rented from the same company for 2year and now I’ve been where I am for 1 year I haven’t had a light or gas bill in my name for 6years because My rent had utilities included in my rent I currently pay car insurance and my cell phone bill for 8years should proof of all that and it wasn’t enough HOW? They are SCAMMING People out the Application FEE also I make $2,400 months after Taxes I Don’t even want them to get 1 star but it won’t let u give them NO stars

3 years ago Negative experience: I’ve applied twice once last year and just 3 days ago both times I was denied true enough I have a previous eviction from 2017 but it’s also on bankruptcy stay if they really did the research. However if I would have rad reviews first I wouldn’t have done another app it’s people saying they told them they had evictions and they have never had their own place! Yes they are definitely scamming people for $50 !!! This world has become so sad everybody scamming

3 years ago Negative experience: I filled out an application. I have been trying to get ahold of someone at this leasing agency. No one returned phone calls or email sent. I see everyone else's reviews and wonder if they're fake. I still would like to rent this house. So that's why I gave two stars. Came back to respond to the companies auto responds to my post. While I understand they get lots of applications I don't think it's ok to take peoples money and not respond with anything. If the application is denied that is fine but send an email stating that. I don't see many people with a positive review. This company should be trying to help people get into homes since they seem to buy up so many.

3 years ago Negative experience: I’m not a tenting but I thought about becoming one until I couldn’t get ahold of anyone in the office. All of the numbers listed are recordings that’s give you not options to speak with someone in the office . I had a few questions that the recording didn’t cover . I changed my mind about applying now. I don’t want to lease from a place I can’t even get ahold of. Weird, how all recording covered was HOW to go about leasing from them. No option for tenants who need maintenance or anything. Shows all they care about is how to see their properties they don’t about anything else. Sad. You guys have so many properties available I see why now., real slum lords. Thank God I dodged a bullet.

3 years ago Negative experience: I feel like this company is running a scam. Im currently working for the State of Indiana and I will use every resource available to me to have them investigated. I applied and received a generic denial letter about 24 hours later. No specific details why I was denied just generic reasons why someone could be denied. I talked to both of my previous landlords and they were never even contacted, how do you deny someone without rental verification from the previous landlords. This is unacceptable. I have reached out via email and phone number. No response. It is sad they are hustling people out of their hard earned money. I will start researching original owners of properties to let them know how their property is being handled. All you see are generic responses to the reviews. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY WITH THIS COMPANY. I will update this review after I have contacted the appropriate entities who handle leasing in Indiana. Thank you.

3 years ago Negative experience: All these reviews are 100% correct. Do not, I repeat, do not pay the $50 application fee. I even went to the actual office in person to try and talk to someone about applying for a rental and was met with a “you have to do it all online”. And then when you fill out all the required areas online you are given little to no communication besides being denied.

3 years ago Negative experience: I applied for a rental here. Provided everything requested to a T. Received a email back saying a was denied for Insufficient Income (I make and have shown proof 6x the rent) Insufficient Rental History (sent in my full rental ledger of previous property..of 5 years!!!) Outstanding Or Past Due Utility Bill / Current Disconnect Notice (Never in my life have a had a disconnect or past due bill there again showed proof of) Don’t waste your time and money.. I should read the reviews prior to submitting anything . I’ll look at this as a positive .. dodged a bullet here, their loss. Enjoy my $50 bucks. The true scam here though is that you knowing and willingly will take HUNDREDS of applications for one rental .. that $50 bucks per applicant sure adds up .. keep stacking that money.

3 years ago Negative experience: Attempted to apply...gave them my data and application, even paid $50 for the application fee ...then I get an email and a text requesting my driver's license and bank statement. I upload the documents. ...the next day I get the same request. I upload the documents AGAIN ...third day, I get the same request I ask them if there is something wrong with their portal....no response I email them....no response I call them....it's a machine No one will tell me what happened to my documents (which is a little concerning), and no one will refund me my $50. So, apply here if you want to throw away $50, then have to apply to a better leasing company anyway. Good luck. They didn't even have the dignity to deny me, they just refused to process my application and stole my $50

3 years ago Negative experience: Applied..make 30$ an hour.. but because I currently split bills with my roommate and don’t actually have a current lease I was denied! That’s ridiculous! Also I was used as a reference and they denied that person too! Funny how they are out here taking your hard earned money for app fees then finding any reason to deny you. Think twice people! Not to mention I own homes that’s neighbors with properties alpine has and they have crack heads renting them!! Makes no sense! Good luck guluys!

Insufficient Income Insufficient Rental History Insufficient Employment History Negative Tenant Performance/Rental History Eviction Filing/Unlawful Detainer Failure To Provide Required Documents Outstanding Or Past Due Utility Bill / Current Disconnect Notice Delinquent / Derogatory Credit Minimum Tenancy Screening Score Not Met- First off, none of these fit my information. So I can tell they’re not even reviewing or looking at the information. Do not waste y’all time. I should have known better the first 2 times. Another application fee wasted!

3 years ago Negative experience: Applied with them and got denied said I didn’t have income, had eviction, owed utilities and all type of stuff that didn’t applied to me. I’ve been email for weeks now to get someone to tell me where they got their information from and I got nothing! I have submitted my documents twice and it said they didn’t receive it. I honestly believe this is a scam of a company and I hate that I cannot get my money back! I had my son apply just to see and they said he had evictions which was funny because he has NEVER had a place of his own! I will be filing a complaint with better business bureau!

I make more than enough, have good credit, valid employment and rental history, and still flat out denied despite how they tell you you'll be approved for a dollar amount. They're scam artists running a monopoly scheme. YOU WILL BE DENIED AND THEY CHARGE $50 TO APPLY (TO GET DENIED.) You're welcome (Feb2022)The reviews speak for themselves. They basically bribe you to pay to speak to someone but then you never actually speak to anyone. Also, their responses to these reviews speak for themselves as well. We often have 50-100 homes available for rent and we receive hundreds of inquiries daily. It is not possible for us to give personalized service to everyone inquiring about our rentals or our application process. Our automated approval system is user friendly and streamlines renting for individuals that meet the minimum guidelines. Working with pre-approved applicants allows us to stay focused on assisting people who qualify. We have helped many individuals obtain affordable housing for more than a decade.
The negative reviews posted in this forum, in general, are from individuals who simply did not get approved. If not approved an email is sent with a reason for denial.

3 years ago Negative experience: They are rip off's they got 150.00 from us and I am the only one with bad credit tried saying my husband and daughter have bad credit they both have a 650 to 800 credit score never late on there bills but they said the was. Don't give them any money houses are jumps anyway most we looked at where horrible. I will be reporting them to the better business

3 years ago Fantastic experience: First, I want to address all the negative reviews here! I see everyone talking about how there is no contact, or no way to contact anyone; that is NOT 100% accurate. You just have to be educated & patient enough to pay attention to the emails & voicemails to know their office hours! They do not keep office hours regularly, which is partly why they are able to keep the cost to tenants low. Second, let’s address the accusations of this being a “scam” & people losing their $50! This is again, 100% FALSE!!! As someone who has rented for years, to have ONLY a $50 application fee is AMAZING!! Most are anywhere from $100-150, PER PERSON!!! This is how the process works: 1) apply online & pay your fee. 2) submit all paperwork 3) wait for response. You need to make 3X the rent, & that needs to show not only on your paystubs, but also in your deposits to your bank account! Now, as to the accusations of their properties being decrepit, THIS DEPENDS ON THE PERSON LIVING THERE!!! Are the properties older, yes! Do some of them need upgrades? I’m sure! But here is the thing, the housing market in Indy is BOOMING, so many of the properties may have just been purchased & some of the issues that need fixed won’t show until someone lives there. If there is an issue, all that is needed is to send an email to the ladies, they contact you, & have the maintenance team give you a call to set up a time to come out. I’ve had 2 issues since moving in & they were resolved NEXT DAY!!! If a person is living in infestation, or holes in walls, or broken pipes, it is most likely because THEY DID NOT contact the company in time before the issue escalated! I will say that MANY of these negative reviews are most likely from people who did not get approved, for which NO company has to disclose an EXACT reason why, only a general reason based on the company that does the process. If anyone has ever applied for credit & received that letter several days later after being denied, it’s the SAME process!! Now, on to what I want to say; This is honesty one of the BEST property management companies I’ve dealt with. The application & approval process is smooth & efficient. There is also a bonus that if you sign a longer lease,(2years), you have a cheaper rent LOCKED IN!! The maintenance & rent portal is amazing. And every person, especially Heather & Tiffany have been wonderful at every turn. The rent is decent. The homes are well kept. The maintenance team is reliable and respectful. If a person has issues w this company, it is of their own fault.
