Fantastic experience: Joe is great ! Showed up in a timely manner was within the window that he said he was gonna be! Professional and effective communication answered all questions, comments, and concerns that we had. Negative experience: I just applied for a home paid a $200( 2 adults + 2 18 year olds who are still in high school)application fee and got an email back within hr saying I'm not qualified. I been living in the same place for years playing $2500 a month in rent , but I'm not qualified. Companies like this are scammers taking money from people for applications fees and can't even get a refund I'm beyond pissed off I lost $200, but yet people who have section 8 can qualify vs someone who gets up everyday and work....

Fantastic experience: We had some issues with the plumbing and Joe and Brian came out to fix them. They went above and beyond!! They not only fixed the issues they came out to look at, but they also noticed some other minor problems with the toilets and fixed those as well. Negative experience: DO NOT RENT If I could leave 0 stars I would. Leased from them for 2 years and it was problems from the jump, much like many of these other reviews. House in poor condition, windows not sealing properly, holes in the walls, holes in the tubs causing water to drain into the hallways. Maintenance requests would take forever to acknowledge and rarely actually fixed the problem. But the new issue I have is the move out process. I completed the move out form in the proper timeframe to moving out.. yet they claim they don’t have the form, never received it, and are attempting to charge me 2 additional months of rent beyond my lease expiration date. No one in person in the local office. No ability to talk to a manager. Just the same rude ladies in the call center with no help ever when you try to reach someone. Not worth it. Stay away

Negative experience: We just moved in and our heat isn’t working it is 28 degrees in my house and I guess that isn’t an “emergency “ for them to come fix it before this bad snow storm we’re about to have. I have confirmed with several employees on the phone it is all electric at my house. I went to call again today and the guy on the phone said it is gas, which is why my heat isn’t working. So now we don’t know which it is . I have an email that even says it is all electric as well.

Fantastic experience: Rodney arrived at our home promptly and professionally! Our ceiling fan was wobbling profusely and making a ton of noise. Rodney initially attempted to Troubleshoot the issue by reinforcing the ceiling mount . When that didn’t work he went and got a new ceiling fan and installed it without issue. Rodney was also very educational and informing us as he went along in the process! 10 out of 10

Negative experience: This rental company has become a joke. We have been here over 2 years & never been late never been a tenant who causes any trouble. We have always had rental insurance through State Farm & now all of a sudden this company is trying to force their insurance on us along with a non compliant fee. The reason they are giving us is we didn't change the address for them on our policy but we was never informed to do so. The customer relation lady has informed me we was sent a letter in October but this isn't true we never received anything & we should not be charged because they decided to move. We also all of a sudden was charged for insurance when we have had insurance from the day we moved in here & our policy has never changed nor have they ever received a letter that we have lost our renters insurance. I have asked to speak with a manager several times to resolve this & never seem to be able to do that but yet they continue to charge me with no valid reasoning. I just keep hearing the Renters insurance team will review it which I have been waiting several days. They also have terrible 3rd party vendors who will waste your time. They will setup a day with you & time & then not show up. They will have several excuses such as their vehicle broke down but yet they will not call & tell you that or text you back wasting your whole day but yet if your not home you get charged $100.00 for missing the appointment. I asked for another vendor to be sent out and the same vendor was texting me again to come out. This is the same vendor who didn't fix my last repair correctly. I am not sure what happened to this company but they have become slumlords lately & I hope they turn this around quickly! I don't understand why we cannot address this renters insurance issue but yet they surely can charge us!!! This company has become terrible to rent from!

Positive experience: Edit to original review: it’s been a month and nothing has happened. No one’s been out to fix our issues and they closed our ticket without communicating to us. Not sure who dropped the ball on their end but we’ve sent in another ticket for repairs and are still waiting. Rodney communicated well and walked me through the process of what was going to happen for the repair on our stovetop. Great job!

Negative experience: This will be my last time leasing with this company. Their maintenance service is awful. The mechanics are lazy and do poor-quality work. The vendors are unreliable and never show up when scheduled. The representatives are rude and unprofessional. Do not rent from this company. This is an honest review of my experience, and it’s been nothing but terrible since the day I started leasing this house. Look at the pictures of how my garage door been open and unsecured putting my family in great danger!

Negative experience: Horrible experience!!! Will never use again. You can never get a hold of anyone for anything. And then they jerk you all around when your lease is up. Negative experience: ABSOLUTELY DO NOT rent with this company. They will find any and every excuse to pass costs onto the tennant. They have horrible customer service that requires calling in multiple times to get anything done, and no one is ever at the physical location to get things sorted with. The owner lives overseas and only cares about milking money out of you. We had a broken dishwasher for over a month, dead squirrels in our garage upon arrival, HOA fees applied directly to our bill (making it impossible to pay rent without also paying the fee), shoddy fence repair that put our dog at risk, among other horrors. It's been over 2 years since I rented with MSR and they're still trying to screw me on past utilities. Lease ended at the beginning of November 2023 and yet I'm getting collection calls for electric for November 2023 and beyond. This business is a scam. No matter how good a deal you seem to be getting I guarantee you'll regret signing a month or two into the lease when all the problems seep through the cleverly crafted facade.

Negative experience: They charged me extra money for insurance on the house even though I provided proof of insurance, they changed the their address AFTER I moved in so I updated it with my insurance company and sent it in that the address was change INSURANCE STILL CURRENTON THE HOUSE, but it was missing the suite # NO ONE called and said can you update this information, so they decided to charge me for this insurance they provide EVEN THOUGH I HAVE INSURANCE ON THE HOUSE and now refuse to take the charges off my account.

Negative experience: Edit: They commented on this and told me to reach out to dispute again. I did so and they denied my request again even though I supplied ample proof again. Then they ghosted me again. Pictures of emails attached. DO NOT RENT HERE THEY ARE SCAMMERS!!!! DO NOT RENT IF YOU WANT YOUR SECURITY DEPOSIT BACK! This company has been awful to work with. We paid $1,845 for our security deposit before we moved in. The state of the house when we moved in had tons of previous patches/repainting in the walls, door damage, sunroom screens were ripped out, etc. We took pictures/videos of everything. Now that it’s time to move out, even when providing AMPLE amounts of evidence of the state of the house before we moved in, they are taking our entire security deposit, saying that we caused all this damage. The gaslighting is unreal. They do not care if provide proof, they will take your security deposit. One of the maintenance men even said to us that they will dock you on everything they can find. Speaking of maintenance men, Danny was super unpleasant to work with, making sly remarks to us often. William was wonderful, and honestly the only good thing about this company. During our time at the house, our sewer backed up three times, and even though that’s considered an emergency in our lease, they didn’t send people out for DAYS at a time. Our dishwasher door stopped connecting to the rest of the dishwasher, submitted a request. People came out numerous times saying they ordered the parts and when I would check back they were never ordered, or the part never arrived. We had a non working dishwasher for 4 months before we moved out. Also, a shelf in our laundry room became disconnected. One of the maintenance men came and drilled new holes to fix it, but didn’t patch the old holes. Guess who got charged for those previous holes from her security deposit??? You guessed it! Me! STOP CHARGING PEOPLE FOR THE AWFUL WORK YOUR MAINTENANCE MEN HAVE DONE PREVIOUSLY. I attached pictures as proof, that’s only a small fraction of the evidence I have against them. Will not be renting here again, and you shouldn’t either. Wish I could give 0 stars. Also if you read through reviews, you will notice the only good reviews are reviewing maintenance workers. Well, that’s because they ask you to leave a good review for them because they are in a “competition” with their coworkers to see who gets the best review. When really it’s because the company knows the reviews are tanking because they treat their renters so poorly, and are trying anything they can to get better reviews so they don’t look as bad as they really are. RENT SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!

Negative experience: This is a horrible company to rent anything from. They are extremely nice until they get the signed lease, once we moved in everything started messing up. Our A/C went out. Water pipes leaking under the kitchen sink, cockroaches coming out of the light sockets, raccoons in the attic, tremendous amounts of mold under the bathroom sinks and they tried to paint over it and placed a piece of plywood to cover it. Broken window in the bedroom. We lived here approximately 4 months and they still have not come out to fix anything. I call everyday and only two times in the past 4 months have I actually got to speak with a person and they are beyond rude. They don’t answer any emails and the live chats are like speaking with a robot. I spoke with the neighbors and they said they’ve never seen a family stay longer than 6 months here and now I know why. I’ve also reached out to other tenants and they’re saying they’ve never seen same thing is happening to them. So it seems like at this point that they’re going into these homes and doing a quick cleanup and cover up instead of actually fixing anything. My baby has severe asthma and I can’t even bathe her in the bathroom because the mold is so strong that it burns your nose when you’re in there and she has a hard time breathing. I’ve also mentioned this to them and they have yet to reply.

Negative experience: I wouldn’t recommend this company to my dog!! They are absolutely horrible! They don’t take care of any of their properties! Maintenance is absolutely horrific and takes months to get and type of repair completed. They place new carpet on top of old padding full of dog pee. They put new laminate flooring on top of a completely molded and rotting floor thinking no one would find out and when we sent them pictures as we were doing the work they told us to cover it up with the new planks because they didn’t want to replace the floors. I’ve seen several of their properties and 90% of them are sitting on disgusting carpet padding and molded floors.

Negative experience: The houses are more affordable than most other rental agencies however the houses are not kept up to date. I have had so many maintenance requests since living here within the 6 months and the maintenance workers are horrible. They don’t fix things properly and it takes forever to get them to come out to make repairs. Most rental companies have a time frame for repairs however it is not the case with this organization. This company is a headache to deal with. I think it’s hilarious that someone could take the time to reply to my review to try to come off as the rental agency is concerned when it’s been almost 2 months and I’m still waiting on maintenance to repair water damage. On top of that, now the garage is leaking from the bathroom above. This house is trash and then the fact that there are so many repairs that need to be made with maintenance request which have been sitting for months they send me a renewal on the property with a $195 increase. Smh

Negative experience: We rented for a year at 7403 Red Rock Rd. When we moved in, there were so many plumbing issues. The front bathroom shower flooded the neighboring bedroom and front hallway; And the hot water heater flooded the whole living room. We filled out maintenance request for both of these issues and Band-Aids were applied. You could see that water had wicked up the drywall in the bathroom and they did not replace the drywall. They also did not replace the floor in the living room that had been flooded as they said they would. The house not only smells moldy, but you can see moldy rotted wood around the bathroom. They should not let people rent houses in these conditions. I have just expose my toddlers to mold and I don’t know what sort of health issues they may have because of it. This company has pretty decent prices, but don’t let that attract you because it may cost your health. My family and I will never do business with Main Street Renewal again. I trusted this company to take care of my family and I and they did not. I don’t love leaving negative reviews like this, but sometimes it’s necessary. I really hope Main Street cleans up their act and starts taking care of their customers- the sweet families that are renting these homes.

Negative experience: Update : they have reached out to and stopped once I provided proof of damages before I moved in and asked them to fix and was told no. They still have not refunded me my money on items that was reported before move in . This is a horrible company and I do not recommend moving in. Will tell all I know this exact thing I would give zero stars ! We uploaded a move out and move in video . Had the grass cut, cleaned the house completely, nothing wrong with . In our move in , we complained about paint , blinds , issues with the flooring and tub caulking . I uploaded that text exchange about them saying we can replace ourselves and or paint etc… we did not paint and we took our blinds once we moved out because they are ours and put theirs back up. They charged us for everything we stated was wrong at move in and took our deposit . Said they had to cut the grass on 7/10 . Mind you we moved 6/27, when lease was up, so yes that will happen it is summer time . Not our problem. Our move out video shows the lawn being cut etc . Horrible place to rent from ! Do not do it at all ! Scammers

Negative experience: I'm glad my time with this company is OVER! Predatory practices! They keep your deposit by trumping up bs charges! I submitted a 3-minute move-out video showing NO TRASH, NO DIRT, AND NO DRYWALL/PAINT ISSUES...but somehow I was still charged $900 for paint, cleaning, trash removal and blinds. I am beyond disgusted with Mainstreet Renewals. Paid a $1300 deposit and only received $400 back. Terrible predatory practices.

Negative experience: I feel scammed! I thought this was a legit company. Applying for a home with 3 other applicants. I finish my application with payment. I get a email after at 1:14pm that the application is incomplete due to other co-applicates, which they were in the process of working on. The system ask for application payment in the middle of the application not the very end. So the other 2 applicates pay, and start the last part of the application. By 1:15pm the application is denied before they even finish for no reason. You scammed me out of $150. I am reporting you to the Better Business Bureau and the Federal Trade Commission.

Negative experience: Can I leave negative stars?... Stay away from this terrible company! They reached out to us to buy our home. Made an initial low offer but not terrible... they did a fake inspection. Seriously a non inspection guy who came and just made stuff up. He didn't go up on the roof or the attic or actually check electricity or run the water anywhere. Well had real inspection report done a week prior with a buyer that ended up falling through from something on their credit 5 years before. Nothing listed on that report was on the real inspection. This company made up so much. Basically wanted us to rebuild our house or go 30,000 less than initial offer. What a joke. We should have listened to the reviews from people renting. Do not sell or rent from this terrible company. They are a giant SCAM! save yourself the waste of time and hassle!

Fantastic experience: My living room and hallway carpet looks so great and is very comfortable to walk on! No more walking on sharp objects in the old shag carpet that I had before. My only regret is that they only did the living room and hallways due to carpet coming up and rips, but not the bedrooms and they still have the old carpet! I am happy to have nicer carpet in my main living room area though and even my dog Mykie likes it better! The carpet installer guys did an amazing job!

Negative experience: Worst mistake we ever made! Stay away from this place! I'd give this company 0 stars if I could. We have been renting through them since October 2024, and it has been a nightmare trying to get things done. We have literally had a total of 10 maintenance requests since moving in! First, they make the homes look good enough for you to sign the lease (then tell you that the home comes as-is), then you really start to see everything that is wrong with it. Getting anything done or speaking with anyone (besides the customer service representatives) of authority is nonexistent, so don't even try. I have been without my dishwasher for three weeks, and today is the second day I have taken off work to have it installed. The first time was when the delivery guys dropped it off but weren't able to install it because the maintenance guy who came out didn't take the time to write down the proper serial number information and was in such a hurry he didn't put the right parts in when he made the request. Now today is the second day and the technician never showed up! I checked the app; the app says it has been pushed out until the following Monday! When we scheduled it for this Friday, the 30th, I explicitly explained that today would be the only day I could get off work. I called the so-called helpline and got nothing but attitude; I was told my technician called off sick today and they have no one else that can do it for me. So there was nothing they could do, and to just make sure that I was here on Monday. Mind you, no one ever reached out to inform me that he wasn't coming! I was just left to take the day off. Again, I explained how absurd this was and that I could not be here, and was simply told that if I wasn't here and he showed up, then not only would I be charged fees but it would be scheduled out further! For $1610 a month, I should not have as many issues as I do, and I should be able to speak with my property manager (which isn't allowed) when necessary to explain what is going on, and not with a massive call center located in Texas with people who are rude and hate their jobs!

Negative experience: Main Street Renewal – Indianapolis, IN I would give zero stars if I could. My experience with Main Street Renewal has been a nightmare. Since March 2025, I’ve been working with this company to secure housing at E 16th St, Indianapolis, IN. I paid every fee, submitted every document, and even paid the full security deposit. We were told we could move in by mid-May—but that day came and went with no inspection, no update, and no response. Section 8 has been trying to schedule an inspection since April 30, but Main Street Renewal has not responded to them either. I’ve called and emailed repeatedly—no one responds, including a rep named Katherine. Meanwhile, my family, including my children, is stuck living in a hotel, burning through our savings while our home sits empty. This has caused massive emotional and financial stress. We have: • Proof of payment • Emails and call logs • Section 8 documentation • Hotel receipts We’ve done everything we were supposed to do—they’ve done nothing to meet us halfway.

Negative experience: Im over these property management company. This one included. The information your third party vendors are pulling is INACCURATE. Then telling prospects that we need to call the company to dispute things when I have access to my own TRANSUNION EQUIFAX & EXPERIAN. I see none of the things the third party company sees. Not to mention i make well over 3x the rent. & have access to my credit scores and history. Then you’re taking applications from all these prospects and denying everyone. If you look at the contacts vs how long the home has been listed and you’re charging $50 $60 per application there isn’t a reason to rent the house out. Simply because you’re making money off application fees. Not to mention I’ve owned my home not rented OWNED. So no there isn’t rental history. You don’t even have a process to verify that. Just flat out denying everyone. Your third party companies are pulling is inaccurate information and your just rolling with it collect app fees. Don’t waste your time applying unless you have perfect credit perfect rental history absolutely no criminal history and able to fly.

Negative experience: Do not rent from this company!!!! I rented a house from them and they decided after 10 months not to renew our lease which gave us 2 months to find a new place. We then were put in a bind to rent from them again. The only house we were able to get was filthy had mold in the refrigerator and had very bad plumbing issues. We did not have access to any keys for the first 2 weeks of renting. Maintenance came out on multiple different occasions to fix toilets which wouldn’t flush without clogging. This company charges for cleaning but never cleans the houses upon renting. The house had a very bad mildew moldy smell. They do not care about certain properties. This is a very money motivated company and they will leave you in a bind with no explanation and then demand more money from you. Stay away if you value your time and money.

Negative experience: Hello My name is Kafil Badarou and I rent my house with you guys . It has been a 1year I have the heating problem. My heating is not working properly. When I turned the heat on it is gonna blow hot air and after 5 min it start blowing cold and all the house temperature drop. I call you guys several times and they send the technician. They send more technician I talk to one of them and they explain me that the system is old and not working properly , it needs freon and heat element etccc. It looks like they don’t want to fix the problem . My light bill is really high I am paying over $900 every month and I decided to shut down the system. Everything I call them to explain what is going , 3 weeks ago they send one vendor and he came to the house and he stay for 5 min saying everything work I am the one who live in the house . Whether you turned the temperature completely drop by 10 min because blowing the cold air . Today I se that they charge me $350 saying that the vendor says that everything bis working. And I ask them when was the last time the vendor was in my house and he said last Thursday nobody was in my house on Thursday . Nobody even came . I am really tired , I am ready to terminate the contract with this company let me know what os the condition. On the phone they keep telling that the vendor said that everything is working I am not crazy , the heat is not working at all. And I won’t pay nothing because I am not the owner of this house I just rent and they try to make pay maintenance and it is not even resolved . I ready to move so disappointed.

Negative experience: Please don’t waste your time applying. My mom said she applied with proof of income from bank and job and they denied her because she doesn’t get direct deposit like huh? lol how do you deny someone’s app because they don’t receive direct deposit when you can verify the job by calling the number on the check stubs she provided? They took her $50 fast and declined her faster. All these property managements are scams literally. She disputed with her bank and will have it back and no time. But please don’t waste your time if they doing that you can only imagine how it would be to rent from these people. I have never heard of a property management not being able to call and verify employment. It’s sick!

Negative experience: Right now I regret my decision to rent with this company. I am in an emergency situation where I can't use my bathroom and all I can get from anyone is we are working on it. They can't tell me when or if it will be fixed. Or how long it will take to get fixed and how long I'll be without home. And because this happened late in the day I'm missing work and losing income waiting to see if I'm going to have a place to live where I can bath myself in order to go to work.

Negative experience: This company is forcing me to use a payment method that incurs fees all of a sudden. I have been making ACH payments since I moved in through Stripe. Stripe is now forcing me to relink my ACH information. It will not allow me to add my bank again for some reason. It is illegal to deny residents an option to make fee free payments. You have my ACH information on file but will not give me any information on why I cannot use my bank that is already linked.

Negative experience: The worst company Ever. Maintenance is less than desirable. Refund monies that are in the lease are Never credited. These were due to not having Any running water in the Kitchen for One WEEK. Claim was closed. Monies were due to a water leak that Mainstreet signed off on & again CLOSED claim. Absolutely EVERYTHING was supplied to them by us & by the water company 3 TIMES. Still Not Reimbursed. Recently changed payment companies, so many problems .. couldn't pay rent. Reveresed a Gross overpayment that was applied 2 TIMES & CHARGED us 2 Times for this. Only reversed 1 charge & it was the fault of the New payment Center. 2nd month of New payment processing & still can't pay rent. Note this was supposed to be resolved. It appears as if the company wants the tenants to acquire a $100, late fee. New company wants full rent at one time. No provisions for multiple payments, ie, Roommate payment! I'm a co-leaser & I should be able to pay my portion as I could before. This builds credit. Response time on Repairs is HORRIBLE. When they know in advance it should be a Vendor claim, they still take their time showing up & then say will refer to a vendor. This almost always NEVER get's done. Claim closed & you have to start over, while still Out of Service. I could go on & on .. if you have any pertinent questions for anything that I haven't covered, please feel free to reach out to me. I would have given them a -100%, had that been an option. I hope this information has been helpful.

Negative experience: TERRIBLE ! Oh, where to start with this rental company. I moved in November 20, 2023. Didn’t use my basement for a bit because I didn’t have furniture down there yet. December 17th 2023 I went downstairs to notice the bathroom had water on the floor, checked the utility room, to find more water and BLACK MOLD (first picture, less than a month after move in) I reported it and have email proof that I told someone about the mold, and they came out on December 27th. Had about 3/4 plumbers out over the span of the next month or so, because the problem kept happening with the plumbing (every time the shower ran) They then acted liked they found the black mold, because i submitted an escalation email. THEN, they “created” a maintenance request, even though I already had. Nothing really seemed to happen from that email, so I called the health department and then Main street tried to charge me for a “lease violation” because they health department came out. I even had multiple sinus infections during this time and have proof from medcheck. The black mold was reported December 27th, 2023, and wasn’t removed from the house until FEBRUARY 16, 2024 (last picture of mold) Let me also say, I lived across the street for the prior tenants and all they did was sell illegal drugs, let their 4 pit-bulls bully kids and other animals in the neighborhood, park literally wherever they wanted in/on the street, and last but not least throw parties and cuss out the neighbors when they were asked to move a car from blocking a driveway. There was always multiple people in and out. And the dogs were not let out often. Floor boards were chewed, carpets were gross, walls were ever colored on. (I’ll include MOVE IN pictures) So with that being said, Main Street then tried to say that the LAST (out of at least 3) found wet wipes in the plumbing. I don’t use wet wipes, nor have I ever. But the children who were staying in the house with the mother who was always there may have.. So now they have wrongfully taken $465 off of my security deposit when they no possible way of proving me wrong. Oh also, it was supposed to be left in my mailbox because I have “informed delivery” and it never made it to my mailbox, yet the statement breaking down what they took from it came. Called them today and told the lady on the phone, because it’s clearly not coming, and she told me i had to wait 10 business days from the time the check was mailed. TOMORROW is 10 business days. The rental company is TRASH and so are their houses. I paid $1520 and they’re now listing the house at $2705. what an absolute JOKE. they didn’t even try to fix anything there or even shampoo the carpet. DONT RENT FROM THEM. and if you do, lawyer up, you’ll have to sue to even get the money they clearly owe you. also, if you are a lawyer, contact me

Negative experience: This company does not care about the condition of their houses, nor their renters. We’ve had nothing but problems here. We've been having mold issues, we contacted them they sent “maintenance.” He came and said it was “water damage.” We hired an outside company to come out and look and test it. The last pictures is the Petri dishes in the areas we tested. We contacted them and sent the pictures and they said “well we can send maintenance out, this should take 7 to 10 business days.” This has been going on for WEEKS. They will not let us speak with management. My fiancée & I have been sick etc. This is just so sad.

Negative experience: Listen....MSR was good to us up until the time they decided "quietly" as a whole to not renew our lease. Here it is Aug and usually we would have received a letter notifying us about rental renewal, no letter. September came no letter, it took me and my husband to stalk/call them everyday to ask what's going on. FINALLY October comes mind you our lease is up 10/30/24 we get notification that they will not be renewing the lease when asked why, no one knows but claimed a letter was sent out, We finally get something in email on 10/21/24 about extending the lease giving 30 days notice.
