Negative experience: There are entirely too many that are in positions they are not qualified for. Unable to answer or respond to simply easy questions

Cities Management

Thank you for sharing your feedback, Kati. I’m glad you were able to speak directly with your property manager and that they were able to provide you with the answers and guidance you needed. I also hope they were able to walk you through accessing the online portal for work orders and statements, as this is the quickest and most effective way to get many items resolved.
Our Client Services Team works hard to provide prompt and thorough responses, and I’m sorry we fell short of your expectations in this instance. While I’m disappointed we weren’t able to assist you sooner, I’m very happy the manager was able to help.
Thank you for continuing to give us the opportunity to support your community and demonstrate our commitment to improving your experience. We appreciate you taking the time to share your concerns and for allowing us the chance to address them.

Fantastic experience: I am on the board of a Minneapolis condo association. Six months ago, we chose a new property management company, Cities - and we are very happy with its service. Transitions can be challenging, but Cities employees work extremely hard to resolve problems. Recently we had a pipe burst in our building, and Cities' President was on site in about 20 minutes, shortly after the firemen arrived. Matt then stayed in our building for 5 hours to orchestrate an emergency response that involved many, many people - restoration workers, electricians, other Cities employees, etc. He informed our insurance company about the event. He emailed an extremely clear and well-written letter to residents. He met many of our residents, listened to all of our concerns, and he is still offering truly helpful post-emergency advice to board members. We have found the property manager assigned to our building to be very helpful too. Derek anticipates problems before they occur, and steers us to good solutions when we occasionally disagree. The accounting department is especially patient about answering questions about and fixing issues with our monthly reports (thank you, Jordon and Percy). For many reasons, we are grateful to be one of Cities' clients.

Negative experience: Some employees with this company Cities Management exhibit discriminatory behaviors of racism, sexism, and biases and who uphold and support others who exhibits these behaviors. When you express your concerns about these behaviors they are ignored because they used these behaviors to weaponized against and push people out and off the board who they don't want to be apart of it.

Cities Management

Alex Boie Published on Google 4 months ago

Negative experience: Unfortunately, our experience with this management company was extremely disappointing. Communication was inconsistent, basic governance and records requests went unanswered, and the company repeatedly resisted clear board directives during a transition. Rather than acting as an assisting agent, they created unnecessary friction and delays. We would not recommend them to other associations seeking transparency, cooperation, or professional partnership.

Cities Management

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are genuinely sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations, and we take concerns related to communication, transparency, and partnership very seriously.
Our branch offers multiple service-level options because we recognize that every association and board has different preferences regarding how hands-on they wish to be with daily operations. Each community is supported by a client services department dedicated to homeowner needs, along with a team assigned to work directly with the Board of Directors based on the selected service tier. Given the frequent exchanges of emails and operational details throughout your engagement, we regret that you experienced communication delays and understand how frustrating that can be.
Our intent is always to serve as a professional partner and assisting agent, while also upholding our legal and fiduciary obligations. We appreciate your candid feedback, as it allows us to reflect and improve, and we welcome the opportunity to connect at any time to discuss your concerns further or provide additional clarity where helpful.

Fantastic experience: I live at West Ridge Condominiums in Plymouth, Minnesota, and our property manager, Andrew Hathaway from Cities Management, has been outstanding. He responds to emails very quickly and always follows up with a phone call to let me know he received my message, what steps he’s taking, and what I can expect next. His communication, professionalism, and follow-through are exceptional. I truly appreciate the way he manages our community.

Fantastic experience: We have had several management companies oversee our condo HOA over the years and our current manager Derek has been the best one we've ever had. Derek is a great communicator and gets back to us quickly and addresses the concerns of the residents. The other day we were locked out of our unit and Derek was at our building in 15 minutes with the Master key to get us in. 5 stars for Derek!

Chao Yu Published on Google 5 months ago

Negative experience: Absolutely not pleased, impressed or even satisfied with the new management as a board member. Nearly impossible to get a hold of, no physical appearance purely digital. Lack of professional communication resulted in several delay on sensitive matters. Continue to drop the ball on multiple time. Really proactive in charging the association a "trip charge" without having a maintenance person take a look first. Does excellent job in communicating the issue but without any further updates or resolution. If you ever wondering why your HOA fee is increasing YOY, look no further - Cities Management is thrilled at doing that. Should have selected a different management company for the association. Costly mistake for one to learn!

Cities Management

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re truly sorry to hear about your frustrations and the experience you’ve described. Our goal is always to provide timely communication and support, and it’s clear we fell short of your expectations.
We’ve tried reaching out by phone and email to better understand your concerns and work toward a resolution, but haven’t been able to connect yet. Please know that we would still welcome the opportunity to speak with you directly and clarify any misunderstandings, as well as address the issues you’ve raised.
For transparency, we do want to note that you are not listed as a board member for the association. Management works under direction of and in partnership with board, and while we facilitate communication and coordinate vendors, many decisions—such as repairs and approvals—are made by the board. We understand this can sometimes lead to delays, and we’re committed to doing everything we can to keep residents informed during that process.
Your feedback is important to us, and we’ll continue working to improve communication and responsiveness. If you’re willing, please reach out to us at your earliest convenience so we can discuss this further and ensure your concerns are addressed.
Thank you again for taking the time to share your perspective.

Cindy Sherer Published on Google 5 months ago

Negative experience: This is the most expensive HOA in the northern suburbs and they do the least amount of work. My driveway is shoveled today, but barely completed. The sidewalk is not cleared as I write this(11:30 AM). I do often wonder what I pay for.

Cities Management

Thank you for taking the time to share your concerns. We’re so glad you were able to speak with your property manager directly today. Communication is important to us, and we appreciate the opportunity to address your questions.
We were pleased to hear that, despite the very large snow event in Minnesota, your community was plowed within the contracted timeframe. We understand that the ice underneath the snow made clearing surfaces perfectly a challenge, and as we always do, we will follow up with your snow vendor to continue pushing for the best service possible for your HOA.
We’d also love to invite you to join a future board meeting. This is a great way to gain insight into how your HOA dues are budgeted and the services they cover. Your perspective is valuable, and we welcome your participation.
Thank you again for sharing your feedback. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have additional questions or concerns.

Negative experience: Do not ever use this company as your HOA provider. As MANY people in the reviews have mentioned, they are almost impossible to contact. Count on never being able to contact them by phone. If you do get an email back, expect it to be days or weeks after you email them. We have been trying to work out a very serious issue with them that is costing my family 9 grand. It took them 3 weeks to get back to us on it and because of that, the issue was not able to be settled. They told us they hadn’t received our check at 4pm one day and the very next day at 8am it was suddenly “already cashed” they have zero communication skills with you, but also with their own team. I have requested a call back multiple different times and Clara keeps deflecting in each email and has yet to call us. This company does not care about you at all. Choose a different one if you want to ever actually talk to someone or receive decent customer service.

Negative experience: Horrible company. We live in the poorest suburb in Hennepin county. How can they keep increasing our pay but not have any thing that looks great. Same landscape, same ole stuff. Oh, yeah they purposely deliver the mail to your house late, so you can pay the late fee.

Fantastic experience: I've had several properties under Cities Management's care for the past decade, and today they truly impressed me. I submitted a “Contact Us” form on their website with a question, expecting the usual automated reply. To my surprise, the response came almost instantly, and it wasn’t just a generic message. Liz R from Client Services personally addressed my inquiry and provided a thoughtful answer right away. In a world where most organizations rely on automated confirmations, this level of responsiveness was exceptional. It reminded me how crucial real-time communication is in any business. Cities Management didn’t just meet expectations, they exceeded them. It genuinely made my day!

Negative experience: These guys are awful. They assessed us $2800 to paint the houses in the development and hired a contractor who power washed all the stain off my deck and left it exposed. I’ve been emailing them for over 2 months and they told me “it’s the home owners responsibility to maintain the deck”. Obviously I wasn’t the one who power washed all the stain off of it.

Cities Management

Logan, we’re sorry to hear about your disappointment with the performance of an Association vendor and the challenges we’ve had in securing their response on your behalf. Fantastic experience: After some difficulty in reaching someone at Cities Management due to some telephone tag I was finally able to speak with Angela. She was very helpful and handled my dilemma quickly (how best to pay an assessment other than HOA dues). She followed up with a phone call and an email. Angela is what every company should strive for in an employee - competent, helpful in finding a solution, patient and goes the extra mile. Cities Management is lucky to have Angela as a team member! Negative experience: I own a condo through this company. Takes them over a week to respond to any request or email. I was due to close on my house tomorrow and it is now delayed because they have not responded to the 20 calls my loan officer and I have made to them. Useless and expensive.

Fantastic experience: I am a Board Member here at our Association in Maple Grove, MN. We have been a long time client of Cities Management and work closely with Jesse Heinecke. Jesse has been terrific to work with as his direction and counsel make the lives of us Board Members much easier. The Essential Services relationship we have with Cities Management meets our needs well. As a smaller Association with fewer "things" to manage, the Essential Services contract works great for us. They hardly ever answer their phones, they don’t return phone calls, and they never follow through with anything they say they’re going to do. Fantastic experience: I've been on the HOA board for many years and have worked with four different management companies. Cities Management, and especially Arik, outshines them all! They have been the most professional management company my building has worked with. Arik has great communication, he's thorough and patient, and goes above and beyond for our building. I know he manages other properties, but the attention to detail and responsiveness sometimes feels like we're his only building. The board members can't stop singing Arik's praises. Thank you for everything you do!

Fantastic experience: Our association had two previous places managing our association dues before cities mgmt took over. My account was short a considerable amount of money. I contacted the cities mgt manager Arik, and with in a few hours he responded back. My info was sent onto the client service specialist Liz and Jordan, accountant. The team actually reached out to the two previous places to get the past statements. All of my emails to get this resolved were answered same day . The manager actually did the audited of the statements they received finding the error. I received an email at 9:15 at night… alerting me to the fact that he had indeed found my missing money which had not credited been credited. This time of 9:15 pm was not within his normal work hours… above and beyond is all I can think of. He knew I was worried…. I can’t believe the team did not dismiss my concern, they could have told me to contact the other two places instead of reaching out on my behalf. My issue was resolved to my satisfaction and the account credited with the missing money..above and beyond by this team approach and communication amazing!

Positive experience: Updating my review: Management of the company called me after the 4th of July holiday weekend. They stated that their lines were inundated that day and had to play catch up. Manager explained that they replied within one business day and addressed the issue with me on the phone. Original: Impossible to get ahold of. As a Realtor, I need to be able to get in contact with an HOA within a reasonable amount of time. Between another agent and myself, it took an unreasonably long time (2 business days +) to reach anyone.

Cities Management has been great to us.

Negative experience: Incredibly difficult to communicate with. A work order took ~40 days to hear back from and we’ve been waiting 2 weeks to hear back from our property manager with 5 emails sent and a voicemail left.

Cities Management

Nicole and Evan, thank you for your feedback and for taking the time to speak with one of our representatives. We sincerely apologize for not following up after relaying your concerns to the vendor. We are actively working to ensure the issue is resolved and will follow up with you once the matter is fully addressed.

Fantastic experience: Our HOA recently had our driveways torn out and replaced. Communication with Cities Maintenance was excellent. Notices were posted on all garage doors regarding days, times and parking. Contact number was on the notice for Teresa and I spoke with her regarding a couple of questions I had. She answered the phone immediately and was professional and very helpful in regard to my questions. Met her assistant Jackson this week as he was posting new notices as they are now going to Sealcoat our roads. Jackson was very personable and again answered all our questions. Aside of the work being done professionally is the customer service provided. I have to give Cities Maintenance 5 stars and would definitely recommend them.

Negative experience: We are very disappointed with Cities Management. We have lived in our townhome for 2 years, and their maintenance has always been subpar. The lawn always looks rundown, snow was never plowed in a timely manner, and our sidewalk was falling apart with large cracks in the cement. Our HOA recently decided to switch companies due to their lack of care. We received emails saying everything would be transferred to the new company, and yet we were still charged our HOA fee on June 1. I tried calling several times and only was able to leave voicemails. No one ever answered the phone after over 5 days of calling. I finally received a phone call today only to be told I need to talk to someone else. Their customer service is terrible. They do not care about homeowners - only the money that is received each month.

Negative experience: This HOA company is impossible to reach. I am considering purchasing a condo managed by them and have general questions. I have called and left multiple messages and no one returns my phone calls. I was able to reach one person via email. Their response was that the answers to my questions would be in the resale certificate. None of the information is contained in the resale certificate, and now I will probably be withdrawing my offer based on the management company being unreachable.

Negative experience: They moved in and took our condo area over in Shoreview Minnesota and do nothing but raise dues, and tack on “emergency fund” bills on top of raising the dues whenever they want. I recommend them if you hate having money in your bank account

Cities Management

Thank you for your feedback. We understand your concerns regarding the recent assessment. Please note that the special assessment was approved by your Board of Directors to fund an upcoming capital project that is important to the community. As the management company, Cities Management does not make decisions about dues or assessments—we support the Board in carrying out their decisions. If you have any further questions or concerns, we encourage you to reach out to us directly so we can provide additional clarification. Negative experience: Worst HOA company I have ever had the displeasure to work with. Long and short of it my father fell ill in December, died by January and you put his association fees with additional fees in collections.. after NUMEROUS CALLS to speak to no one. Messages left weekly since December. You absolutely have taken advantage of a situation and went nuts. Your fees are ridiculous as his property looks run down on the outside. The grass is not good, and the townhomes are dirty. With all this money you get you could do a better job don’t you think? Now I have to reach out to another business to get final payment because of some “delinquency fee waiver” has to be sent to your board. What a total sham. I said he passed away. Now you’re basically telling someone if you die and you don’t pay and satisfy your needs first it goes up in the thousands.. shame on you! Charging a deceased person late fees? Be for real. —————— To follow up on your response, I did.. make you aware of his passing. The day after he passed away. I called several times and can absolutely tell you multiple calls were made. I can absolutely pull up my call logs each time, and voicemails left. You’re not attending to my need at all! To tell me I notified you in March is only because it took SO LONG to get the email to send the appropriate documents to. You need much better communication and much better customer service. I absolutely disagree with your entire handling of this matter.

Cities Management

First, we want to extend our sincere condolences for your loss. We understand this is a difficult time, and we regret any additional stress this situation has caused.
Regarding your concerns, association dues are assessed monthly, and unpaid balances follow a structured process outlined in the governing documents. Our records indicate that we were first notified of Mr. Wilcox’s passing on March 11, 2025, at which point we provided guidance on the necessary documentation to update the account. We regret if there was any difficulty reaching the appropriate team sooner.
The collections process is not discretionary but follows policies in place to ensure the upkeep of the community. That said, we understand that this is a challenging situation, and we are here to assist in any way we can. If you would like to discuss potential next steps or need further clarification, please don’t hesitate to reach out at [email protected] or to the contact information provided in the mailed notices.
Our goal is always to work with homeowners with fairness and compassion, and we appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns.

Chris Howerton Published on Google 1 year ago

Negative experience: This HOA has been nothing but frustrating since they took over my condo complex last year. They continuously add unexpected fees on top of existing charges without prior notice. For example, after agreeing to reserve the community room, I was hit with additional fees that were never disclosed upfront. Communication is another major issue. When you call in, you're met with an AI system and endless prompts, only to be sent to voicemail—which they never return. Cheryl, in particular, does not answer calls and responds to emails with a cold, impersonal tone. Even when paying these questionable fees, you’re charged even more just to process the payment. As a homeowner who has always paid on time for over three years, this experience has been incredibly disappointing. If you’re looking for an HOA management company, I strongly recommend choosing a different one, as this company lacks transparency, customer service, and basic accountability.

Negative experience: If I could give this company 0 stars, I would. There is never any person you can talk to on the phone, you are always asked to leave a voicemail. My garbage has not been picked up in almost a week and they have done nothing about it. I have called them over SIX TIMES and still nothing. We pay association dues for them to manage our garbage retrieval, and it is a waste of our money. Fantastic experience: I wanted to share how great Cities Management has been in helping guide our homeowners association. In the past 5yrs of my tenure as an officer to our board of directors, in our relatively new association, we have experience both good and bad managerial leadership. We moved from our former company and since doing so, Cities has been the most professional and helpful organization to work with. Furthermore, working with Cities helped with continuing resourceful information and webinars to attend and their league of resources is unmatched. If you are a board member, looking to bring on a well rounded management company, please look no further. From supportive systems, documentation, assistive advice and leading council, to financial services, Cities Management offers the best we have experienced and their well established connectivity and ease of use has made it easy for both board members and association members. My biggest take away working with different management companies and varying managers, is that the most important part of your HOA journey is going to be how our CC&R (bylaws) are written. It's like insurance companies, you could have a great policy or a horrific policy both with in the same insurance company. But it all comes down to your individual policies that you are a part of. HOA's are no different and your bylaws make or break what can or can't be done. Your management company and board of directors are only implementing that said policy, rules or regulations. Thank you to Cities, for making a volunteered role easy.

Negative experience: Does anyone actually work here? Been trying to reach them for over a week. Update to response from business: acknowledging an email is not the same as actually providing an answer. I had to reach back out twice and ended up contacting the trash hauler directly because CitiesManagement couldn't provide me with an answer. It wasn't hard for me to get the answer I needed, so not sure what was so hard for this HOA company to do the same. Worst of all, HOA fees have gone up but service levels have gone down. Will keep this as a one star review until I see improvements.

Cities Management

Thank you for your feedback! We understand your frustration regarding the holiday tree removal process. Cities Management is new to the community, and there was a lack of communication from the previous Board and the trash hauler regarding this specific service.
We appreciate your patience. Our team responded to your inquiry within 24 hours while we verified the collection period with the vendor.
We are committed to improving communication within the community. We will work closely with the Board to ensure clear and proactive communication regarding future events and services.

Fantastic experience: Liz R. did a great job of getting back to me to clarify how much I should truly be paying in HOA dues. The amount Cities Mgmt. gave me was different from what the Association gave me so I sent the amount Liz R. told me to send. She backed up the accuracy of her amount (actually a bit less) over the amount quoted to me by my HOA with a page from our HOA's actual budget. The HOA never got back to me as is usual when I have questions. So, I appreciated Liz R.'s speedy response time so I could pay the right HOA dues amount on time! Thanks Liz!

Negative experience: I just had a pretty negative experience with a Sarah Mellerund outside my home. She was taking pictures and when I asked if I could help her with anything she was extremely rude. I clearly have children in my home and was making sure they weren’t in any danger, you just never know these days. I understand she may just have been doing her job but her lack of awareness and empathy was upsetting. I am a renter and not aware of changes to the association as that information is not provided to me. I asked her simple questions and expressed my concern that I have never seen her in the six years I have lived here but was only met with snarky responses. Someone who deals with this probably pretty regularly should maybe show more kindness and understanding.

Cities Management

Hi there -

Thank you for your feedback. We encourage renters to connect with their landlords to stay informed about updates affecting the community. We sincerely regret that your interaction with the Association Manager, Sarah, left you feeling upset. At Cities we prioritize clear communication and respectful interactions with all residents, whether homeowners or renters, and your feedback is important to us. We understand how seeing someone taking photos near your home could raise concerns, especially as a parent. Please allow us to clarify that these photos are part of routine inspections and maintenance tasks to ensure the property is well-maintained. Sarah identified herself during the visit and provided you her business card. Please contact as at [email protected] if we can be of further assistance.

Negative experience: I have never been so aggravated and I’m begging someone to help me. My unit flooded July 21 and ever since my family and I have been trying to settle this claim. I have given them everything they’ve asked for. I received an email saying it was approved for the contractor to do work. I was told this week that the community manager, Anastasia, has the check. I’ve written to her and her supervisor Carla and they won’t reply. I am beginning to think this is fraud. The claim was approved and why don’t I have the check? Why would Anastasia get it and keep it? Very questionable and sketchy. Anastasia is impossible to work with. I’m losing money daily because I can’t sell it. It’s destroyed. Your website says “For us, the central importance of community can never be undervalued. Providing exceptional service to our customers, community members, and each other is at the center of everything we do” Please prove it. Update: not only haven’t we gotten the money from the HOA, they won’t even tell us how much we received for the required work WE were approved for. They’re keeping it. I’ve written to info at Cities Management. No reply. Hiring an attorney this week. This is fraud and we’ve been advised it’s illegal.

Fantastic experience: Our HOA contracted with Cities Management effective Oct. 1. Here's some early feedback on Cities Management service level. Yesterday I had questions about the status of my ACH application. Sent a couple of emails to Client Services. This morning, I received a return phone call, from Carla Mae Dasi-an, in Client Services. She answered my questions answered clearly and cordially. She then followed up with an emailed copy of the confirmation letter that has apparently been delayed in the USPS system. Quick, efficient and pleasant. I couldn't ask for more. A breath of fresh air.

Marie Baker Published on Google 1 year ago

Negative experience: If I could give this company zero stars I would. I have never been so frustrated with a property management company until Cities Management took over my HOA in January. I was previously caught up on payments with my prior property management company and had records from that company saying so, and I sent those records to Cities Management. Since Cities Management has become our property management company they have provided zero evidence (other than saying "my records are outdated") that I didn't pay and according to Cities Management I now have a new account balance close to $2,000. I asked them to work with the prior property management company in providing evidence that my records are outdated and they say that the company will not work with them. With that being said I guess that they want me to just take their word for it and pay them $2,000...? Also, when Cities Management became our property management company they did not water or mow the grass for MONTHS. The townhome association looked absolutely horrible!!! After not providing basic care to the lawn Cities Management then raised our monthly HOA fee to almost double what it previously was. If that was not enough for you they also have horrible communication. When trying to figure out my account balance there has been times that they never responded. I then will have to follow up with them and then reiterate the issue since they cannot remember the details. It is an understatement to say this company is an absolute dumpster fire.

Cities Management

We appreciate your feedback and understand that transitioning from a different management company can be challenging. Since March 2024, our management team has been in regular communication with you regarding your account balance, specifically requesting financial records to verify payment. We regret the complications caused by the previous management, including inaccuracies in record keeping, and we’ve been working diligently with the Board of Directors to address the matter, while completing a professional audit. This issue was discussed during the Board’s May 8th meeting, and the details are available in the meeting minutes on the Association website. The Manager continues to collaborate with the Board to bring in new vendor partners as contracts allow. We also encourage you to attend the upcoming Board meeting to stay informed. If you would like to discuss this further, please feel free to reach out to us at [email protected] or (612) 381-3600.

It’s been over two weeks and when they came out to fix they said there wasnt anything wrong with the it. I went out to open the door and it fell off. My mail was found all over my neighbors lawn. They do not answer there phones (5 tries) and they will not respond to voicemail. Incompetency and poor service running wild at cities management. Don’t let them manage your community! Get them out!

Mr. Goodman, Cities Management has reviewed the matter regarding your mailbox. According to our records, you spoke with a representative on September 17, who promptly created a work order on your behalf. On that same day, the Manager addressed the matter and forwarded the work order to the Board, as they are responsible for mailbox replacements. Fantastic experience: I needed help with getting back on the trimming list. I was first not on then changed my mind. Carla was so helpful She responded to my email quickly. She sent it to the proper person for me. then it was going to the vender. Within a short period of time, Carla was kind once again and sent me an email updating me. Telling that management sent my request to the vendor. That was so nice to let me know it was being taken care of. She responded so quickly. I really appreciated all the help she gave me. Thank you Carla..

Negative experience: I am a realtor and whenever I call cities management to get information on the rules and regulations regarding leasing for an HOA that has a property listed for sale and is under Cities management, they always say 'we cant talk to anyone about a property other than the owner'. This is ridiculous because I am not asking about an individual property I am asking about the general HOA rules and regulations. This type of response prevents buyer and their agent from doing due diligence and makes it harder for owners to sell their property. Cities in the only management company that does this. All other companies know that this is standard practice and general information that can be shared. And before someone from the company tells me to 'order the HOA documents' which I have also been told before by Cities reps, this is also ridiculous and shows how little the company know about real estate. Buyers dont spend hundreds of dollars purchasing HOA documents for every home they want to look at. The owners are supposed to do that and often they only do it AFTER they have a singed purchase agreement. Prior to that owners are often ill informed or unaware of many HOA rules and regulations so we cant just ask them either. Let buyers and their agents do their due diligence like every other management company does!

Cities Management

Thank you for sharing your concerns. We understand the importance o timely and accurate information during real estate transactions within an HOA and apologize for any difficulties you’ve experienced.

To clarify, licensed realtors can access HOA documents at no cost in the early stages of a transaction. Documents are available to the seller through their homeowner portal 24/7/365 and should be shared between agents.

Minnesota law mandates that a resale disclosure package be provided to potential buyers. Cities Management cannot be held liable for errors or discrepancies in informal communications. We recommend obtaining the official governing documents for the most accurate and up-to-date information prior to a transaction though the resale disclosure.

Should you have any further questions or would like to discuss your concerns please contact us at [email protected] or (612) 381-8600.

Negative experience: I had an extremely frustrating experience with Cities Management. Since their transition, the lack of communication has been unbearable. Anastasia, the customer service rep, was unresponsive, claiming to have too many cases to handle. It seems the previous company didn't prepare for the transition. Anastasia advised me not to make payments until my account was updated, but it's now the end of October, and my calls and voicemails have gone unanswered for over a month. This situation is deeply frustrating, and I hope they improve or find a better management company to support their increased workload. Update: 08.2024 I’ve reached out to the below email and haven’t heard back from them either. This is very challenging as there are several new issues of my property that are only getting worse as time continues to pass.

Positive experience: Verily, let it be known that Carla Mae Dasi-an is, without doubt, a great Specialist in the Services of Clients. Our association didst recently transition unto the governance of Cities Management, and I harbored no false hope that this passage would be without turbulence. Not by their hand, but by mine own, for I am in my eight-and-seventh year of mine age, and mine understanding of the latest tech devices is akin to knowledge from the days of yore. Most troubles doth arise from mine misunderstanding of words and phrases, and from mine own frequent errors upon the keys. Yet, Carla, with keen perception, didst sense the nature of mine plight and with great patience and respect, didst exchange both emails and calls with me. In the end, we did clear a monetary balance, thus enabling the setting up of the automatic withdrawal. Carla was, in truth, a delight. My only sorrow is that in times to come, I shall request her, but possibly shall no longer have the pleasure of Carla’s service.

Hi Quentin, thank you for taking the time to let us know how we did. We hope you have a great day!

Negative experience: They lack backbone to stand up to crooked board directors. They lack competence in their follow through when dealing with homeowners requests and interdepartmental communication is horrible inside their operation. I have seen them operate as a board member and as a home owner and honestly neither was impressive. They put people with no experience in rolls they shouldn't be. They pitch their service bump products as solutions to problems that never get solved. I am giving them 2 stars because I did see one property manager with actual backbone and convictions but when our property majority owner cried about being held to a operational standard that called his duty of responsibility to homeowners he cried to their president and got his way and they removed him from our account. I made a payment to take care of an assesment on my account and communicated at length with no less than 3 members of their team that my payment would be properly credited. I was told with confidence that I could count on them. 2 months later, I was mislead.

Cities Management

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback and for your previous service as a board member. We value the perspectives of those who have been deeply involved in the community, as they offer invaluable insights into how we can improve our shared work. The situation at your community is unique and we acknowledge the challenges you faced during your tenure on the Board of Directors and as a homeowner. Your involvement as a board member and homeowner provided you with a unique perspective on our operations. It is clear that there were instances where our performance did not meet your expectations, and we sincerely apologize. Regarding your specific experience with the assessment payment, we deeply regret the inconvenience you encountered. We are committed to reviewing our processes to ensure such issues are resolved more effectively in the future, and our team has reached out directly. We appreciate your recognition of the property manager who demonstrated the qualities you value. This highlights the importance of having team members who are both skilled and uphold high standards of integrity and accountability. Cities Management we are committed to recruiting and training top talent to provide exceptional service. As you noted, the opportunity to support change within the association is significant, though perhaps what's absent, is our dependence on a mutual and collaborative relationship with the fiduciaries of the association. We hope that in the future, we can work together more effectively to address the concerns you and other homeowners have.

Negative experience: We have cities for our HOA. They’re pretty terrible. Wouldn’t recommend them. They don’t reply to tickets in a timely manner or escalate or communicate things with the neighborhood. 2 for 2 years since having them we have had issues with our pool heating and they take weeks to figure it out or residents have to do it themselves.

Cities Management

The Maplebrook Homeowners Association partners with Cities Management for essential services, and the Board of Directors handles day-to-day operations. You submitted a work order on 6/28, and on the same day, Horizon Pools confirmed via email to Cities Management that the pool heater was functional. However, on 7/6, Horizon Pools recommended replacing the heater, which the Board approved. An update was shared with the Membership on Monday, 7/8/2024. We will continue to provide more information to the Membership as soon as it becomes available from Horizon Pools. If you have any further concerns, we encourage you to participate in an upcoming Board of Directors meeting for the Association. For additional maintenance-related queries, please reach out to [email protected].

Fantastic experience: Liz and Cities Management were fantastic! My mailbox needed repair, so I submitted a work order on the easy to use portal on a Friday evening. By the following Tuesday, the repairs had been completed. Outstanding response!

Hello Brandon, thank you for your kind words and this wonderful review!

Negative experience: The absolute WORST company in history to have to deal with. They feed lies to you. They do not fix ANYTHING and they keep increasing payments but do nothing. If you are looking to rent from them or buy a home that they have anything to do with... don't do it trust me. Im looking to get out and sell my home now because the association rates, the highest in forest lake. $355 a month for dues, absolutely crazy! I promise you, it is a terrible place to live and the NEW homes expect to take the dues that we have been paying. I have owned my home for 7 years here and disappointed to say at the least.

Cities Management

Thank you Ms. Swenson for taking the time to share your feedback. I have taken a moment to review your account and have only found one work order that was submitted in 2022 which was respective to shrub pruning, which was successfully completed and closed. If you have a maintenance request, please kindly submit your request via the owner portal or by contacting our Client Services Team at [email protected] or at 612-381-8600.

Negative experience: I have never experienced worse customer service. Absolutely do not use this service no matter what reviews you read. Nothing will be done about your concerns. Our account manager won't respond at all, ever, until you pull the president of the company in. Not that that will make your concerns addressed/fixed, but you will likely at least get a response. I thought our old property manager was bad until we switched to Cities Management. Don't fall for any good reviews, not worth it. Ridiculous. If this is the only option on the planet, at least make sure your rep isn't Cheryl.

Negative experience: Update 2024 - This company is still the worst - RUN!!! Shockingly, we've got another new contact. Complaints about holes in our streets, dead grass & shrubs, broken & disintegrating rock beds are washing away, cracks in the sidewalks, rotting edging around the garages, and ants taking over the yards are not being addressed. This is the 2nd year I've complained about these issues and I get nothing in response to the issues. What I did get was a suggestion to join the board of directors so I can be more involved. I don't have to be on the board to share my concerns. When you complain, they tell you that we are currently going through a hardship due to insurance premiums sky rocketing. I can understand that however, I can't understand what that has to do with the last few years that our development has gone to sh!t due to lack of upkeep. The crack in my sidewalk & the rotting edging around the garages didn't just happen this year, or even last year. This is several years of neglect. Last year we had $100 allocated to pest control. What kind of pest control can you accomplish within a 38 unit development for $100? I'll tell you - NONE! When I asked where that money went or why we got a new street sign when there are holes in the roads that should've been addressed first, I was asked to speak to the members of Cities in a polite & professional manner. Not 1 word to address the issues I've brought up. I asked who is responsible to replace the dead grass last year & got no response. I asked again this year, got no response. The bylaws state the homeowner is responsible for watering. The homeowner's have every right to know where the money we pay in dues is going, whether you like it or not, Anastasia. You really hit it out of the park with your professionalism. Also, they aren't competent enough to be able to separate 1 payment into 2. 1 for dues and 1 for a special assessment. So we get to incur 2 service charges. I was told the reasoning is because of the way we make our payments. However, whether you pay via check or ACH, you have to make separate payments. If you want to talk about your feelings or their new portal, get nothing but excuses and deflection when asking about HOA issues, then Cities is your company. The 3.6 star rating is a stretch. This company is the worst. Diane Yang specifically will not respond. We were told about a board meeting for our development. The day before the meeting at 2:30pm we received an email stating the importance of our attendance at the meeting. I was unable to change plans to be at this meeting so I asked for the minutes. I was told she didn't have them. I asked about the minutes for the other meetings - No response. Most board meetings happen at 4:00pm in the middle of the week. Probably on purpose so most people can't be in attendance. We had our siding and roof replaced last year. They didn't hook my AC back up so when we got hit with 90 degree temps for a week, I had to call someone out to hook up my AC. I didn't receive a response back from Cities for almost 2 weeks. When I finally received a response, I was asked if I was sure I hadn't used my AC last year after they did our siding. They finished the siding in September so I doubt I needed it. And do you think I went out and cut the wire to my AC for Sh!ts and giggles?? I also found out that my AC wasn't hooked up properly (to code). All they had to do was move 1 wire. When I told Cities about it, they said "we didn't install them." They do absolutely nothing for the homeowners. The turn over is horrendous. Every time we get a new contact person I have to chase them down because there's no notice that you have a new contact person. And when you email the wrong person, you get snarky responses back like "So and so has been your new contact for 9 months." How would I have known that? Did you send me a notice? Do I need to call every week and see who the new contact is? I would give them No stars if I could.

Negative experience: First interaction with this company was a complete joke. Their customer service followed up with an email summarizing our phone conversation (per my ask) and was a complete fabricated, nothing we discussed on the phone. I followed with an email documenting our conversation and asking for confirmation and they went silent. Horrible customer service and first impression.

Cities Management

Brian, we're very sorry to hear that you're disappointed with the service that you've received thus far. We apologize for any inconveniences you may have experienced. We take customer care very seriously and would like to discuss matters in greater detail to try to come to a resolution. Please email us at [email protected] with a number where you can best be reached, and we will ensure that someone contacts you soon. Thank you.

Negative experience: Unfortunately, our experience with this service was less than satisfactory. We found the response times to be slow, and there was a noticeable lack of respect and responsiveness to our Homeowners Association's. UPDATE: After trying to leave their management group and paying a fee (due that same day), they still sent mail and emails put to our HOA onboarding us. This is a disaster of an organization and more concerned with getting their fee than taking care of their customers.

Cities Management

Nicholas, we would love to address your concerns. Please email us directly at [email protected] so a member of our team can assist you. Thanks again for your review and we will do our best to resolve your issue.
