Negative experience: Destroying our beautiful islands

Fantastic experience: We stayed at Queen of Folly and had a wonderful experience with our two adult children and their spouses. The house was very clean. Pluses was garage parking, washer and dryer, 3 bedrooms with 3 baths, beautiful kitchen and comfortable living space, screened in porch, and easily walkable to the beach as well as town. We will definitely be back!

Fantastic experience: Three Little Mermaids home on Folly Beach was literally right on the beach so you just need to walk out your door to experience amazing sights and sounds! The home was clean and inviting and we felt right at home immediately. It was great fun to watch the tide coming in and out each day.

Fantastic experience: We were pleasantly impressed by the quality of the condo. The furnishings were very nice-even had a Fender acoustical guitar. Very clean and well-stocked. We did not need any additional items. The rental management personnel were very helpful and tolerated my operator error in locking the door. The unit was very comfortable and relaxing. We would definitely stay in this unit again.

Fantastic experience: We absolutely loved our rental in Folly right on the beach! Every morning we woke to a gorgeous sunrise and walked the beach. We enjoyed the short walk into town and the short drive into Charleston for dinner and shopping. The beach was perfect for playing beach games and walking. I even found an actual shark tooth! The house was clean and bright and Carolina one was very responsive when we reached out.

Positive experience: The property Folly Me was perfect for our family of mixed ages. As they say - location, location, location. The playground next door was perfect for our younger children, our teenager loved the pool, and we kept momma happy by having the beach just a short walk away. Ultimate flexibility for a busy family. It was also easy to get our daily exercise walking to Center Street for food and shopping. It was exceedingly peaceful around the house and easy to relax. The house shows a bit of age, but it has been lovingly cared for by its owners and is in excellent shape. Looking forward to our next stay!

Positive experience: Marshwinds Condo, Unit 2A. Great location, lots of room. Screened in porch was a nice place to start our mornings while we strategized our activities for the day. 3rd bedroom with 2 twin beds would be best for young children - the mattresses aren't designed for someone over 90 lbs.

Fantastic experience: We had a great stay at this condo! It’s updated, well maintained, and comfortable. The beds were comfortable and the living space was well decorated and cozy. The location is in the center of town and you can’t beat the view!

Fantastic experience: My girlfriends and I stayed at La Bella Vita for a girl's weekend. We loved the house! It is spacious and comfortable. There were enough bathrooms for all of us to get ready in. The wrap around porch is incredible, and we were very close to the beach. We wish we had more time at the house and on the island!

Positive experience: Beautiful and very comfortable house. The kitchen was very well stocked with dishes, entertainment items and small appliances. The bedrooms are spacious. The views are amazing! We appreciated the various items for guests, such as games, magazines, and books. The rental process was easy and the communication was great. We would definitely rent again.

Positive experience: We enjoyed our stay but: 3 took a shower and no hot water. Only 5 coffee mugs . Kitchen not stocked well. Never stayed anywhere with not one lamp in the place. Water on door of fridge quit working. So badly painted it is not a nice place. I have stayed in this complex before and loved it. I will not rent this unit ever again. Also rug on porch is torn up and coming in under the door . Need to dust tv screen. At least an inch of dust on tv screen. Unit has lots of cheapest in appearance with curtains in the master and horrible paint job in places. Just not as nice as other rentals in the lovely complex.

Fantastic experience: We stayed in one of their rentals on Folly Beach. They were super responsive to all of our questions. Everything was clean and organized when we arrived. Check in/check out instructions were clear and they were flexible on the times.

Positive experience: Property is in need of TLC, repairs and updating, however, Carolina One was excellent in communication, follow-through and issue resolution. We reported an issue upon check in and they had it resolved within an hour. Greg and Joan exemplified great customer service! The condo was clean and is in a great location!

Negative experience: This company treated myself and family terribly when we had to make a change to our vacation plans two weeks before our trip due to a true family emergency and crisis. They were callous, cold, and even accused us of lying several times and refused to refund us even just a partial amount of the $5000 we had already paid to secure the rental. We sent our friends to enjoy the house in our place since we couldn’t make it, and afterwards, our friends told us of many of the issues with the rental, so we left a review. They again accused us of lying to add insult to injury. This company is garbage, and are pretty heartless humans from my humble experience. I would avoid working with them like the plague.

Fantastic experience: Rental was exactly as described and shown in the photos of Turn of River 1D. It was very clean and updated. Check in was a breeze. The scenery from the screened in porch with walk out deck was breath taking. Boats sailing. A one mile walk or bike ride into town over the bridge was so nice. Plenty to do. Outdoor Pool. Love it. Would definitely recommend.

Fantastic experience: Our family of 6 (4 adults, 2 kids) had a great time during our stay at Folly Me, managed by Carolina One. The house was very conveniently located to the beach, had ample parking, was spacious, and the pool was priceless. The decor was very updated, as well as kitchen appliances. Kitchen was stocked with everything we needed to cook and enjoy dinner at home! There was even a cabinet full of games to play as a family. The queen bedroom was large enough to accommodate a pack and play for our infant to sleep in. All of the TVs were “smart” and preloaded with apps such as Netflix, prime video, etc (had to use our own logins). I think they also had cable hooked up in the living room. We were equipped with plenty of bath and beach/pool towels which was really appreciated. Laundry room conveniently located in the hallway was perfect for ensuring we had fresh towels every day. The house came with a small amount of essentials to get started such as dish soap, dishwasher detergent packs, and shampoo/conditioner. Make sure to bring laundry detergent from home as well as coffee. Keurig machine as well as traditional coffee pot worked great for our group. All in all, loved our time here and would absolutely come back and stay again!

Negative experience: An agent from this location was the selling agent for a property my family was interested in. The agent in question asked my agent for personal information like my age and my backstory. My agent refused to provide any information other than we have been pre-approved for our loan. Our original offer was passed up for another offer, which happens. Then he reached back out when that contract fell through. Our 2nd offer couldn't be accepted due to termination paperwork not being finalized in time. Then finally we get an email saying within hours of the property becoming available on the market again they had multiple offers and that we needed to put our "best and highest offer" by a particular time. We put in our offer again asking price with the seller paying the closing. No counter offer for asking price and no closing cost covered just straight denial within hours of submitting our offer and the supposed deadline wasn't even over yet. Due to personal questions being asked about my family and I feel that there may be foul play. If not its still unethical to ask about my personal information. I understand that agents have a duty to their clients but they also have a duty to other agents as well as buyers. As a member of a industry held to similar standards and one that works with the real estate industry I am so upset with our encounter with this agent.

Positive experience: This was our first time staying here and we had a great time! They give you suggestions on places to eat. The house was clean and they even have trial toiletries. We loved the screened in porch. Great to be right on the ocean. We have stayed at plenty of houses and they one thing that stood out for me was how everything was labeled. All the light switches & the drawers in the kitchen. We would definitely book again.

Fantastic experience: Namastay was the perfect place for a girls getaway retreat! We had the best time and couldn't have asked for a better home or area! Namastay was further down the beach which we appreciated as traffic was nonexistent. The screened in back porch was our favorite place to be! It seated all of us comfortably and we loved watching the sun set each night with dinner. The front room had a large couch and all of the seats reclined! The reclining "lever" was a round piece between the cushions- We also appreciated that the owner placed cards in each room with instructions on how to use the TVs, espresso machine (Wow! Putting this on my Christmas list now. I didn't know how much I would love a milk frother until I used this all week :)), tidbits about the beach etc. We appreciated the new washer and dryer and the fact that beach towels (for 10 guests) were provided as well. Large showers were a bonus- I have only rented homes with tub showers before and the amount of room in the showers and tile decor was delightful. The lights also dimmed in each room and we were able to use this feature at night. The house has plenty of natural light during the day so we actually never had to touch a switch from sunrise until sunset. Thank you, Namastay, for making our beach vacation so wonderful. We will definitely be renting this home again due to the great location and updated features!
