Experiencia negativa: This company is a joke! Biggest waste of time and money. The agent that “helped” us is Carlos. He not once helped us with anything. My wife was a little confused on part of the application and i can’t always help her because I’m in the military and I’m away from her. So she called to get help from him and he did absolutely nothing to try and resolve this problem. So my wife then kept trying to figure out how make this work. And when she still couldn’t she called back and he dodge our calls and email. Absolutely horrible experience with this place. They just took our 75 bucks per person for our application and never helped us. I will never recommend this to anyone moving to the Norfolk area. Nothing but lies from this terrible company .

Experiencia negativa: One of the worst companies I think my boyfriend and I have ever dealt with. Getting a response is like pulling teeth, and the fact that they wont let me handle anything while he's deployed, over seas, on a boat in the middle of the ocean AND CANNOT CONTACT THEM, but they require me to pay a fee and run my credit (when I'm not even living there, but taking care of things?) is absolutely horrible. And when he IS able to contact them, they wont respond. They say, "We'll get back to you" and then never do, and wont answer questions like.. WHEN IS OUR LEASE UP? They barely respond when there are issues to the house, and still haven't fixed anything. They're awful SLUMLORDS. Do better. If I could give zero stars, I would.

Experiencia fantástica: I don't usually do this but I just have to say I am AMAZED by Mrs. Donna and her partner Key! In our 5 to 6 years time of renting my family and I have gone through about four to five different property managers and every time they change property managers it is always difficult with communication and it just never felt like anybody was there for us. Fast forward to earlier this year when Mrs. Donna introduced herself as our new property manager, and I just have to say that the way that she checks in on my family and make sure that we're doing okay and works with us brought me to tears. In all my years, she is the best property manager we could ask for and her and Key deserve all the praise they can get! Thank you guys from my family and I for caring genuinely.

Experiencia negativa: Well the incident started back on June 10th when I called to inquire about one of there properties for rent I spoke with Mary . And also asking if they accept Section 8 tenants. I was told they did and that I could apply. I informed that my credit score wasn’t all great but what else do they look for as far as being eligible to rent with the company. I was told rental history, credit and job history. But no worries that with me having section 8 they over look some things . A week go back I called to find out the status of my application Donna who is the property manager answered and introduced herself and explained to me she could help me. We talked about the Section 8 process and my application status with them which I was told that I was approved with Re/Max and I could send my tenancy approval sheet for them to fill out and give to my worker . I had to follow up again about the status of my paperwork being sent to my worker because I called my worker she stated never received it . And that was after I was told a week ago that it was sent out to her .At that point I called Donna and she said she would send it , and that she had been busy she will get to it. Once it was sent I was set for inspection week 3 of applying and being told by the property manager I was approved on there end and section 8 approved to move forward with inspection . Once the home passed inspection I was told that me and the property manager with meet to pay deposit then I move forward to move in the place the day of which would be week 4 I was then notified I had to pay a double deposit. Which made no sense to me because it’s now week 4 why wasn’t I informed in the beginning when I applied and my credit score and everything else was approved.At this point Was very upset because why wasn’t I told I had to pay a double deposit. Not to much I was giving the run around , they were very unprofessional, not communicating with me and I was having to call them for updates . After being told that the follow day I wanted to speak with someone else to find out why. I was route to someone name Key a guy which he seem like he wanted to help but instead gave me false hopes as well by saying to me basically there are rules behind why the charge double deposit which I understand, but why not inform me a head of time . The false hopes he gave me were after explaining everything was that no worries we’re going to get you moved in and get you in there . I was told that by Donna as well .Spoke with Key at 12 he stated he would sit and talk with Donna and call me back . 4:30pm come in no call back I had to call them , Just to be told now that my application was incomplete they needed to finish it to better figure out why . 5:15pm came along their office is closed they had the assistant Mary to call to tell now I’m denied . Didn’t have enough decency to call me back like he said he would (Key) or (Donna) to tell me this instead had to assistant call me and when I asked her to speak with someone she put me on hold and hung up on me .Now I had to move out my current place facing homeless. Because I was mislead . Mind you this all happened within 4 weeks very unprofessional, negative 0 stars . I feel if you didn’t want to rent from me why waste my time for 4 weeks to have me thinking I was approved because I was told those exact words from the property manager just to turn around weeks later now I am not . This company is a big scam and I’m going to expose them next Is a lawyer and the news.

Experiencia negativa: I can't get ahold of anyone over the phone, and the text line sometimes takes days to get a non-answer response, or sometimes there is just no response unless you continue to bother them. I move in 1 day and can't get any answers for anything. If you call their number, every option sends you to an automated voicemail that nobody is responding to. They also want to do the moveout inspection but only after I leave. This leads me to believe that they intend to be shady. There is zero communication, and zero accountability. If you're renting, and the owner uses REMAX.. do yourself a favor and find somewhere else to live. UPDATE: I am still being billed for rent and utilities several weeks after I moved out, and the lease has ended. The person I spoke to weeks ago informed me not to cancel any utilities because they had to be the ones to transfer services back to the homeowner. Still can not get ahold of anyone via their phone or text service. All phone options still forward you directly to voicemail, which was another issue I was told would be resolved. No communication, no integrity.

Experiencia negativa: Repairs take ages to get done. The homeowners clearly do not look after their properties. They'll have someone out within a day or two, then they sit on their hands while their tenants spend even more money to make up for the inconvenience. It took over 30 days to repair the fridge. Now, we have an emergency situation.. for seven days and counting.

Experiencia positiva: Very disappointed to hear the owner of the property on Anne Ave (that’s has a for rent sign in the front yard now for 2 weeks) decided not to use your company & rent within to someone he knew… I watched someone put the sign in the yard & called the first day & was given many different run arounds about how it wasn’t live yet & I couldn’t apply until it was on the site.. but Mary assured me that I was the first person interested she would sent the link so I could put in a application, she even sent us updated pictures of, all of the new renovations that were done.. after a week of nothing, & not seeing property listed, I was told the property wasn’t going to be going to live & the owner decided to rent to someone he knew. That was Tuesday 9/24 & here it is Saturday 9/28 & the sign is still in the yard! I recommend taking it down asap so people aren’t getting false hopes as I did! Huge shoutout to Mary & Keith, ( I forgot the other ladies name), they were great!

They don't do repairs in a timely fashion (sometimes it takes weeks for a repair..7459 Wellington Rd Norfolk rear room floods when it rains hard..they lie and make up anything to keep you from getting your security deposit back... Go to another rental company if you don't want any problems

Experiencia negativa: Would strongly advise against using. Terrible experience with them. Kim was non-responsive and rude at times. Failed to return over $260 from my deposit, claiming it was used to cleaning windows?? I was in the space for six months; no receipt was provided. Fellow military, stay away. Only redeeming quality: Marcus.

Experiencia negativa: I put my application in on 6/29/23 and was notified around 7/10/23 that I was approved by remax prime but awaiting response from owner who was out of the country by kay . I was notified that the property manager was on vacation until 7/17/23 by Kay as well. Property manager stated to me last week and on 7/23 that owner just returned from out of the country. The week of 7/24/23,random requirements were mentioned about me just now receiving civilian employment and making prior late payments to previous landlords with no balance owed. On 7/24/23 I was notified by email that I was denied due to rental history although I have no evictions,judgements,or nothing for rental or landlord history. I am prior military with a high paying job with a college degree and no criminal history and I have a decent credit score. This office served me lies and wasted my time. I viewed my Appfolio background check and it shows nothing negative for rental history and they had my entire portfolio and documents since the day that I applied but waited four days before my move out date to say I was denied which was almost a month later . They sent me to voicemail multiple times when I was concerned.This office is running a scam and they will take your application money and leave you high and dry. I have reported them to the BBB and the national association of realtors. All they had to do was say I was not who they were looking for and I would’ve moved forward. It’s not right what they are doing.All the “prospective applicant” reviews listed are true because the scenarios are very similar to what I went through. If you look down the list of reviews most of their owners and tenants are complaining about the lack of work,lack of time,and lack of professionalism this company represents.

Yan - At RE/MAX Prime we take all feedback very seriously. I have personally looked into the circumstances surrounding our management of your home. To provide some clarification we took over management of your property with a tenant that you placed in the home. This tenant was simply unwilling to communicate or work with us at any point, regardless of our many attempts.

When we discussed their non-compliance and failure to pay, you agreed that eviction was the best step for resolving the situation. I understand that you are unhappy with the out of pocket expenses that come with the process of evicting a tenant, however as we have informed you, legal fees are charged back to the tenant in the event of any judgment awarded on your behalf. We are dedicated to doing everything we can to get you all the money they owe you.

While your situation is not ideal, it can be mitigated through proper screening and placement of a qualified tenant. This would decrease the chances of placing a non-compliant tenant in a property that we manage. If you would like to discuss this issue further, or address the ways that we are able to improve performance with your next tenant, please feel free to give us a call, I would be happy to speak with you.

Experiencia negativa: I think if you pay for an application you have the right to know if you were approved or not, 3 day for my moving date and nobody has said anything to me, ofc I know it’s not approved cuz if it was approved they would’ve told me ,but they didn’t and they should’ve let me know so I could’ve move on to the next house! Really disappointed after the high application cost!

Experiencia negativa: Awful property management company! My property was poorly managed at best and not managed at all at worst! They didn’t complete the maintenance on some work orders, didn’t uphold their lease inspections, didn’t notify us our tenant put in their notice to vacate or moved out, clearly didn’t know they moved out, they didn’t collect the last month’s rent, didn’t do a move out inspection, and their negligence cost us thousands. The house was an abandoned jungle by time we realized what was happening and got a new company to take over. Beyond unacceptable, especially when the military has you living across the country and you can’t babysit these people.

Experiencia negativa: Drove all the way to a viewing before I had to rush to work only to find out it was rented out the day before and NO ONE DECIDED TO TELL ME. They even sent me a confirmation text that same day and it was only until I physically called their number that a member told me it was rented out and that's why I haven't received anything. Super unprofessional, super frustrating, and super selfish of them to not let their potential renters know of this inconvenience.

They will take your money, run all of the back ground checks and when you call for an update on your application or information they will not respond. If it is a friday you can forget about anyone doing their jobs and answering phones or getting back to you! Highly unprofessional.

They are quick to take action for money collections... Some of their workers need more patients with the customers over the phone

Experiencia negativa: 1 star because I can't put 0. The property we rented from them sat empty for nearly a month was never cleaned from the previous dweller. I cannot begin to tell you the filth and junk that was left behind while the house baked in the August heat with no utilities on the keep the house aired out. We stopped counting at 100 dead Flys in the den room alone. Throughout our lease with this agency, they switched property managers without letting us no, switched tenant work order system without informing us (still haven't been given the info after 6 months of figuring it out on my own once I couldn't put a meld in during our house flooding). Speaking of flooding, the lower den had about an inch of water in it during heavy rain a few months back. They sent someone out TWO WEEKS after I called the emergency help. They still have not done anything regarding all the water that had soaked up into the walls as it dried out. Very unprofessional. Had a meeting scheduled at the property and the property manager could not be reached. An hour after our scheduled meeting time, and 2 phone calls to "his" number, that actually just sends me to the companies front desk, he calls me to say he had emergency dental yesterday and couldn't make the appointment. I highly recommend to steer clear of this entire company for any business.

Experiencia negativa: Moved out of a property managed by by ReMax Prime Chesapeake in May of 2020, it is now May of 2021 and did not receive my full security deposit back. They partially gave back some of the security deposit due and charged us for "holes in the screens" of a third story apartment. These holes were mentioned in our move-in walk through papers and documented, we were told we would be reimbursed for the mistake. Not exactly sure why they would even think of charging a tenant for holes in screens as I am not sure how or why anyone would do that. After several attempts of reaching out, they did not give reimbursement. This is basically not legal and disrespectful to tenants that actually did pay their rent on time every time even during a pandemic. I would look elsewhere if you want your property managed by a company that is respectful but if you want a company that charges your tenants for new screens and things that you won't have to buy for basic upkeep of the property, you found them, your apartment will look better than before you started renting it!

Experiencia negativa: Re/Max has been my property manager for 12 months and my house has been empty for 12 months. I am active duty military and currently do not live in the States. The property manager does not respond to emails. And my old neighbor reached out to let me know a potential renter knocked on her door to see if she could help her get a hold of Re/Max because the property manager has been unresponsive. 10/10 do NOT recommend.

Experiencia negativa: Based on my experience these reviews can't be organic and are a true reflection of their clients. They send you an email to review them before they start providing the service, if they had allow their clients to leave reviews based on experience they've had with them, the reviews wouldn't look like this. Its has been an uphill battle getting these people to do their job. Nothing gets done unless you keep calling them, service is always late, I've lost so much money because they put NO priority in getting my property rented. I have more headaches dealing with this company than I would dealing with tenants.

Experiencia fantástica: Property managers go above and beyond to make sure their property owners are satisfied! Call and walk us through every possible tenant, go through owners statements with us, and always pick up the phone when we have questions. Experiencia fantástica: After an error in communication, we where contacted the same day and got rescheduled for a showing the next day. We got to meet the current residents and talk with the manager of the property, get to know the house, look around in the rooms and learn about any prior work needing to be done to the property. Overall, the property manager showing off the residence was very professional about the mishap and handled everything in a professional manner.

Experiencia fantástica: When you call these guys, ask for Peter Donahue. I was a first-time homebuyer and the whole process was completely alien to me. Pete found me an excellent home in a highly desirable location at a fantastic price, and he walked me through the whole process, from the initial search all the way to the closing, breaking down all sorts of once-arcane concepts into plain English for me. Can't recommend highly enough!

Experiencia fantástica: Keyoki Wilson has been amazing managing multiple rental properties for those I refer to the Ron Sawyer team! He is always available to answer questions, patient and very flexible. Keyoki has worked weekends and later hours to show properties along with completing home inspections and ensuring the managed properties are maintained. I wouldn’t choose another team!
