It was difficult to find the right buyer for this property as my wife was intent on attempting to preserve a home that dated back to the 1800's. And, although it did take time to accomplish this feat his enthusiasm never wavered. He also provided me countless contacts in terms of contractors, lawyers, and appraisers that were very familiar with the Hudson County Real Estate market and were invaluable in bringing the sale to close. We would not have had such a successful end result if it were not for Del Forno. They have my utmost confidence, and I would recommend them to anyone looking to sell a home.

She was coordinating viewings, answering all of our questions, and putting together lease documents while she was on vacation overseas! Experiencia positiva: The Del Fornos are responsive, kind, and understanding in the way they manage their properties. They hire quality maintenance staff and dedicated to keeping renters happy with their home. Despite an incredibly frustrating experience with the owner of our building (149 Grand St, JC) refusing to fix or replace the broken and disregarded HVAC system in our unit (after the Del Fornos organized 5 different techs to assess and inspect it), the Del Fornos were professional, timely, and communicative about the process. 4 Stars are for this excellent service. The review is not 5 stars because at the end of the day, they didn't advocate enough on our behalf as renters to the owner in order to maintain the livability of the unit through the cold winter months enough for the owner to replace, repair, or update the HVAC system.

For any other issues that arose, Vito was always quick to respond. Experiencia negativa: I would give them zero stars if I could. The front office is great and helpful but the property management is a mess, disorganized, and unresponsive. During my time in the apartment it took weeks and months for them to fix common maintenance issues (dishwasher was leaking for months, required multiple requests). Moved out and they took $400 for "cleaning and prep", no other details. Legally they need to provide receipts or invoices to the work they did, and nobody will return my emails or calls. I would avoid them if possible, difficult because it appears they own half of the buildings in JC.

I worked with the team after living in downtown Jersey City about 10 years for two apartment searches, one didn’t work out and I was happy to work with them again. They are knowledgeable about the area and always felt their counsel was genuine. As a renter any maintenance requests I submitted were handled immediately and completely resolved.

Experiencia negativa: Avoid buildings or apartments covered by them at all costs. They’re great until you actually move in, and then it’s like they drop off the face of the planet. We had to ask several times to get anything fixed in the apartment, they literally never answer the phone, and when we even tried to visit them at the office, it was closed during their own business hours. We had a terrible experience with Del Forno, and I would advise ANYONE to think twice before renting from them, unless you’re fine with needing to beg several times for anything to be fixed.

Thanks David! **1 Year Later** Unfortunately, after a year of living at the apartment I rented through Del Forno, I had to move out due to an unforeseen circumstance. During the move-out process, Adriana was extremely polite, helpful, and respectful. She always asked permission and gave a few days notice before showing the unit. When it came time to do a final walk through, the property manager Carlos was extremely polite and easy to work with. The team at Del Forno was great from start to finish, if you are looking for an apartment or home in the Jersey City area I would highly recommend them!

I was able to call Vito anytime I needed something, but that was not usually necessary because of their great portal system. If there is anything wrong, like a drain clogged, you just login and submit a ticket and they are very responsive. When I did work with Vito he was always very kind and helpful. I embarrassingly locked myself out on numerous occasions and each time Vito came to the rescue. I would definitely recommend anyone interested in renting with Del Forno real estate

We quickly realized it was the right decision to sell our beautiful and beloved downtown brownstone that had been in my family for nearly 50 years-as you can imagine it was an emotional and complex decision to make. We were very pleased with how considerate and caring he was every step of the way. Anytime we needed something done, Vito did not hesitate to use his resources to make it happen. From cleaners, electricians, handymen and more Vito helped to make the process as seamless as possible! Being locally situated paired with his knowledge of the area really paid off. We also appreciated how reliable he was, if we needed his assistance he was there to help time and time again- he truly went above and beyond. We would highly recommend going to Vito for any of your buying and/or selling needs as he is not only experienced and capable-but truly cares about the needs and wellbeing of his clients. Experiencia positiva: Additional update (March 2022): Things have changed quite a bit over the past year. My building is 100-year-old brownstone and there are things that go wrong, but Rhett del Forno and his brother always are on top of things and work diligently to provide a good solution -- and not just taking the fastest/easiest way out. They care about the quality of work being done to the building and the individual units. The del Forno office has become much more responsive to service requests and -- in emergencies -- being able to reach out to Rhett directly has been beneficial. Update: Still no heat after nearly three months. You have to stay on top of Del Forno because they will ignore you and not take any steps to fix problems. They only care about getting paid. If something in your apartment is broken, be prepared to fix it yourself because Del Forno will not help. I used to like the Del Fornos but will NEVER make that mistake again. Working with Jessica was a nightmare. You have to constantly manage her like a four-year-old. Don't expect her to be proactive in any way. Simple things, like getting a lease or keys, required dozens of emails, texts, and phone calls. The lack of communication is the biggest hindrance to doing business with Del Forno. Not only did they fail to keep me informed, but they also don't talk to each other. It took a week after I moved in just to get my keys because Jessica and one of her coworkers don't talk to each. There were some simple repairs I requested on my first day here -- after two weeks, Jessica's only response is "I left a message for the owners." Avoid Louis Del Forno at all costs. He is a bully who will verbally attack, insult, and browbeat you into staying quiet.

Since the beginning of the process, Vito was really helpful and accomodating. He took the time to walk me through the process and to answer all of my questions ( I had a ton of questions).
