Experiencia negativa: I am very disappointed with the management and staff. Their behavior toward tenants is unprofessional and disrespectful. Instead of helping residents, they look for ways to charge extra fees and take money unfairly. The staff is dishonest and does not clearly explain charges. They add unexpected fees and make it very difficult to get proper answers. Communication is poor, and when tenants ask questions, they respond with attitude instead of providing solutions. It feels like they are more focused on finding ways to collect money than maintaining the property or treating tenants with respect. I would strongly advise others to carefully review their lease agreement and keep detailed records of all payments and communication. Overall, this has been a very negative experience. No maintenance, all of bugs. That was my six and half years experience. Especially 7700 Bloomington ave Richfield apartments I am writing to formally address the issues I experienced beginning February 1st. On February 1st, I called your office, but no one answered. On the second day, I called again and received no response. On the third day, someone finally answered my call. I explained that I had to move out because the balcony door was unsafe. There was more than a one-inch gap at the top and bottom of the door, allowing cold air to come inside. Because of this issue, we were unable to stay comfortably in the living room. I was told to submit a maintenance request and that the issue would be fixed. I followed those instructions immediately. However, a few days later, I received a response stating that the owner could not replace the door and that I would need to submit a move-out notice by the end of the month. I explained that I had already been requesting to move since the beginning of February, but I was repeatedly told that the door might be replaced, which delayed the process. Additionally, I experienced communication issues with the office. I attempted to contact you several times from my phone number but received no answer. However, when I called from my son’s phone number, the call was answered. When I asked why my number was not being answered while other numbers were, I was told that the phone number was not working and that I should contact another number. This was confusing because the same number was texting me and responding to other numbers. During this conversation, I felt that the tone used toward me was unprofessional and disrespectful. I also felt pressured and uncomfortable during the communication, as staff members used rude language and attempted to force me. I am requesting that this matter be reviewed seriously. The unsafe condition of the balcony door and the way this situation was handled caused unnecessary stress and inconvenience for my family. I look forward to a proper response and resolution.

You were a resident for over six and a half years, and during that time we are not aware of any formal complaints regarding management, maintenance, or pest concerns. In fact, no maintenance requests or work orders were ever submitted for bugs during your tenancy. We can only address concerns that are properly reported to us.
Regarding fees and charges, we have not assessed anything outside of the terms outlined in the signed lease agreement. As a property management company, we are required to follow the lease consistently and uphold our contractual obligations to the property owner. Early lease termination, in particular, is governed by specific lease provisions, and those terms must be applied uniformly to all residents.
We also want to note that a voicemail left with our office yesterday contained vulgar and derogatory language directed at our staff. While we understand that lease-related matters can be frustrating, we expect communication to remain respectful.
We strive to provide clear communication and fair, consistent enforcement of lease terms. We encourage all residents to submit maintenance requests in writing and to reach out directly if clarification is needed regarding lease provisions.

Experiencia positiva: Ran into the main office 10 mins before close because of a billing issue with my bank. The only way to resolve this was to have my bank speak with someone from housing hub. Ryan was dressed and walking out for the day but stopped and and stood by while I was on hold with the bank for an extended time. Issue was resolved and I am grateful I was able to catch him before leaving.

Experiencia negativa: Housing hub will nickle and dime you with predatory contracts, relying on low income tenants to not have the means to find other housing or legally push back on them if they were to break tenant law. Expect them to take phony charges from your security deposit. Request and read anything that they want you to sign well in advance.

Experiencia negativa: DO NOT rent from Housing Hub. They make you give 90 days notice and don’t bother to even show your unit to try and get it rented sooner. They will gouge you on your deposit even when you leave your place spotless.

Experiencia fantástica: Andy was very polite and professional. He did his work well and efficiently. Would be happy to recommend him in future to family and friends. This was the second time Andy did work for me. And as before he was very professional and polite. I must say its hard to let someone in my apartment when I am not home. For me its a trust issue. I flat out don't trust people. Andy is the 1st maintenance person I have ever let come into my apartment without me being there. I did come in just as Andy had finnished up the work. I think the fact that I feel I can trust him in my home whitout my presence should speak volumes about Andy and his trustworthy nature. In these times its hard to know who has integrity and who doesn't. I am happy to say I feel Andy has that integrity and is completely reliable and competent.

Experiencia positiva: I previously resided at 759 Jessie Street, a property managed by Housing Hub. While the unit appeared acceptable at first glance, several significant issues became apparent over time. The flooring initially looked updated but later became loose and unstable. The apartment was drafty, and the furnace was excessively loud. The walls are thin, there is no on-site laundry, and the toilet was not properly secured—it moved when in use. Overall, the unit showed signs of water damage, and the refrigerator appeared to leak water. A major concern was lack of tenant privacy. On multiple occasions, Housing Hub staff entered the unit without proper notice. While I was out of state in Arizona, I observed staff entering the apartment via my security camera to show the unit to a potential buyer. On another occasion, I was waking up and not fully dressed when a Housing Hub representative opened my front door, briefly entered, and apologized before leaving. Snow and ice maintenance was also inadequate. Tenants were expected to apply ice melt themselves, and snow removal was inconsistent. A large accumulation of ice regularly formed near the side entrance, likely due to a faulty gutter system directing water toward the stoop. This ice was difficult to see once covered by snow, and I slipped while taking out the trash as a result. Rent was advertised at $750 per month, but actual monthly costs were significantly higher. With additional fees and utilities, rent approached $1,000 per month, and total monthly expenses were closer to $1,200 including electricity. There were a few positives. The neighborhood and neighbors were excellent, and the dog door was a convenient feature. However, requests for basic improvements—such as installing an outdoor hose—were denied. Trash management in the alley was also problematic. Debris frequently accumulated and was not regularly cleaned. During my first month, Housing Hub sent a letter stating tenants would be charged if garbage was not removed, despite the trash not belonging to my household. Overall, due to maintenance issues, safety concerns, privacy violations, and higher-than-advertised costs, I would not recommend this property despite its location and neighborhood. Despite notifying management of my cat’s passing and formally requesting removal of the pet fee, the charge was never removed from my account. Subsequently, I experienced financial hardship and fell behind on rent for three months. When the case went to court, management demanded the full balance of approximately $3,000 by the end of the month. I informed the court that I was able to pay $1,000 by that deadline, but this payment was not accepted, and the eviction proceeded. As a result, I became homeless. After vacating the unit, I was still charged for an additional month of rent, and my balance increased to approximately $6,000. I was also charged for two pet fees, despite only ever having one cat and despite that cat having passed away months prior. Overall, the handling of my account and situation was deeply disappointing.

Experiencia negativa: I’m only giving two stars for the pure fact that I love my apartment itself and my neighbors are lovely. Housing Hub has been a constant reminder of how awful their customer service is and their consideration/empathy they have for their tenants. I moved into my place in October and it’s been one thing after another. My maintenance requests have been consolidated and “merged” to one, yet neither of the requests are fixed. Then when I send updates through the portal or reply back through texting to the maintenance crew, I am unlikely to get a response. I have mold in my bathroom that has the landlord paint special, zero of my cupboards were cleaned upon moving in, my apartment wasn’t ready to move into when it came to the day. Let alone, they tried making me buy things for the apartment building as caretaker when it wasn’t part of the agreed contract or lease agreement! They finally bought the supplies after I said I’m okay with going forward with legal action. I’ve have been showering with a rag over my tub faucet for two weeks now and have had problems with my kitchen sink receiving water pressure. On top of that, my whole building has not had an hot water for 3 days and they were notified at least by me 48 hours ago today. I’m seeking legal services and advice. Do not rent through this company, they don’t care about you.

Experiencia negativa: Snow service are extremely poor, all tenants are very mad, December 8th, 2025. No plows at all. All tenants have to plow their drive ways to get out. It has been 4 days since the heavy snow blizzard, but still no plow, December 12th, 2025. Thank goodness, no accidents or injuries occurred yet or Housing Hub will get sued.

Experiencia negativa: Absolute trash management company. Packages routinely get stolen from my building and they're response is send it somewhere else. Miscommunications that result in vehicles being towed for no reason, people entering units without notification. They act like they're doing us a favor by letting us pay them to live here. Getting out as soon as I'm able.

We’re sorry to hear how frustrated you’ve felt, and we understand that dealing with package theft and a towed vehicle is extremely stressful. When you reported stolen packages and the vehicle incident, we documented your police reports, added notes to your account, and sent building-wide reminders about keeping doors secure and not letting in unknown visitors. We also told you we would bring your suggestion about cameras and signage to the property owner for consideration.
Regarding towing, we are required to clear the lot for snow removal. In your most recent towing incident, we worked with our team to cover the towing fees so you could retrieve your truck.
For unit access, our standard practice is to send advance notices for inspections and scheduled repairs and to only enter without prior notice in emergency situations, such as active leaks.
We do appreciate you sharing your concerns so we can address any issues.

Experiencia negativa: Landlord will never come fix anything and they will lie to you about what utilities are available and then after 14 months of living in a rundown apartment that they refused to fix they never gave me any of my security deposit back and refused to provide any sort of receipts. All in all this company is greasy and won’t look in your best interest. Hope this helps

Experiencia fantástica: Housing Hub took over the property management for my apartment earlier this year. They streamlined the maintenance request process through their user-friendly tenant portal. I needed some items repaired shortly after they took over being responsible for maintenance to the building. They were quick in their response to my request. The tradesmen who came to my unit were professional, efficient, courteous and cleaned up after their work. You only need maintenance when something goes wrong and you can count on Housing Hub to work with tenants to resolve whatever comes up at any time of the day or night. I wouldn’t recommend anyone I cared about to rent from this company for many reasons. Currently trying to get away from this place. 0/10 and it’s not reflective of my tenancy, more how we were treated as tenants. Never again! Go somewhere else where you are valued and respected.

Experiencia positiva: I was so happy to finally find a reasonably priced apartment with a great storage area. Unfortunately, the excitement quickly turned into frustration when I arrived on my first day as a renter and found the apartment was not ready. The lack of communication during those first, imperative days before signing the contract was extremely frustrating — I had many questions and no clear person to turn to. I appreciated Sarah, who showed me the space, but there was confusion about who could assist with adding the storage locker to my agreement and other move-in details. Thankfully, communication has improved since then — the portal has been helpful, Sarah and the tenant liaison who came on board afterward has made a real difference.

Particularly Maddie in the office has been so awesome - she is truly a breath of fresh air in the property management world in terms of her response time, attention to detail, and proactiveness about checking in with all parties involved. I am very happy with my experience over the past two years! 10/23/25 UPDATE - I have never done this, but just want to add an update that I am so happy and appreciative of Housing Hub. Experiencia fantástica: We’ve had 2 technicians come out to fix various items. Mark was early September and Aaron just yesterday. Each one was friendly, courteous, and professional. And yes, they fixed everything per our requests. Each one also answered our questions and helped us understand our new place better. Please keep Mark and Aaron!! The emergency maintenance process was quick and easy by text. We reported our latest problem on a Thursday afternoon and was told that they would contact a technician and then the technician would contact me with an ETA. On Friday morning, no one had contacted me, so I updated the portal saying I hadn’t been contacted yet. The request said “Received” at the top. Waited until 2:45 to text emergency maintenance line again to see if they could give me an update. After that text exchange, the request then said “Technician contacted”. It only took a couple hours for a technician to contact me. So once a technician is contacted, it really is a quick process. We appreciated the quick turnaround time this time since we had to turn the main water line off! Thank you!! Update: I think I had the wrong name! My apologies! I believe his name was Kevin, not Aaron.

Experiencia negativa: While the rent is relatively inexpensive, the overall experience reflects the price. Management and maintenance are unresponsive, and the unit was not clean upon move-in. Staff interactions are often unprofessional, and maintenance requests are dismissed as complaints. I’m unsure why they even had me fill out a parking permit form with my license plate, make, and model if they were just going to tow my vehicle anyway — which ended up costing me $400. Either way, I don’t recommend renting through them unless you’re really in a pinch. However, I do want to note that Meredith has been consistently kind, professional, and a pleasure to work with. That’s about my only positive.

Experiencia negativa: This housing property management is horrible, because they keep turning off the building heater. When I first started living in one of their Saint Paul locations they didn't do it and managed the heat well, like turning on when it started to get cool or cold in the fall and turning off when it's warm in late spring every year up until last year and this year. This year we have fluctuating temperatures in the upper midwest and they keep shutting off the heater so early (or the heater just keeps getting shut off), which I had to call maintenance three or four times now (two times during freezing temperatures, and two times during early spring with temps in the 40's and 50's)! Not sure if they changed management or what, but it's horrible since if temps drop below 50's then your body starts slowing down and you have a hard time waking up in the morning, which slows you down on your work and daily activities around the house. I have to use my kitchen stove and blowing a fan into it to warm the house after having notifying them and the heater still doesn't get turned on! They really do need better management or have better systems installed into place to allow tenants to live comfortably! The current situation is UNACCEPTABLE! Edit for owner's reply on 4/15/2025 to my original review: The management said they didn't manage our building anymore, but it's not true. They still come here to do maintenance from time to time with the trucks with "Housing Hub" decals. What they need to do is make sure they not only need to do maintenance but replace old electrical sensors and heater sensors and ignitors, etc.

Experiencia negativa: Do not rent from Housing Hub. They are strictly transaction-based—only interested in collecting rent and late fees, even if you've been a perfect tenant for years. They will not take care of your building or put any dollars in to basic maintenance. They require a 90-day notice for month-to-month leases and won’t list your unit online even after you've given notice over 30 days ago. Communication is a mess: multiple staff reach out, but none seem to talk to each other, forcing you to repeat everything. Don’t expect empathy, flexibility, or professionalism. Avoid at all costs.

Experiencia negativa: Avoid renting from this company if you can. They will absolutely try to take money from you however they can. They gave me an old set of keys from the previous tenant (keys and locks should have been replaced before I even moved in) and within a couple months the key broke off in my lock. Not only did they charge me for the new key, they charged me for the maintenance to come out and replace the door lock. Then when I didn’t pay that charge right away (because I was fighting it with the management) they then charged me a “late fee” for not paying for the keys and lock when rent was due. I ended up paying anyways, even though they said they would “talk to the landlord.” They up the rent price every year, even though my unit/building has roaches crawling around everywhere once the sun goes down and no updates/changes have been made at all. They will also charge you almost $100 if you’re even 1 day late on rent- so there’s that. 5 star reviews are also overwhelmingly from people who have just viewed a property or signed a lease as they use it as an incentive- not from people who have actually been renting from them and know how shifty they are.

When you brought the broken key issue to our attention in early February, we directed you to submit a maintenance dispute form so we could properly review the charge with the property owner. You submitted that form the next day, and after we spoke with the owner, they approved a $50 credit toward the key and lock replacement costs. This credit was applied to your account immediately, and we informed you of the adjustment at that time.

Experiencia negativa: Scheduled a showing for a rental with Michael C. for a 5:30PM showing. I had already confirmed showing with them and had emailed back and forward for showing, days prior. Michael cancelled our showing 30 mins prior to our showing. Sending me an email asking for confirmation AGAIN and then canceling - I have 4 kids, and I don't have the luxury to constantly check emails. Michael could have called or at least attempt to try to get a hold of me, instead of just sending that one attempt through email. Didn't appreciate the last min cancelation - super unprofessional. Can't work with a company that doesn't care enough about you or wanting your business but only care about hounding you for your rent. I guess it's hard to find a good landlord as to finding good renters.

His knowledge was vast and he fixed my shower at ease and crazy quickly! He also made time to fix my toilet while he was here even though that wasn’t on my maintenance request. He just so happened to have the parts needed on him as well instead of needing to come back. Lastly, I submitted the non emergency ticket last night and he showed up first thing in the morning. Experiencia negativa: I was given 1 set of keys and told I cannot make any copies. I was then charged $208 for needing 2 of them copied after they were taken. $100 "to walk out the door" fee, and $35-45 per key. Management dodged my questions until they sent me a message asking why I put my notice in to which I copied and pasted the same questions. In this charge i was informed that i was also being charged for "rekeying for security reasons" while the front and back apartment doors have remained untouched. I will be filing a complaint to the city. This company is garbage staying a float by making its workers ask for reviews. Every single 5 star review mentions the employee that helped them because the trash management company surely requires them to do that for performance reviews. I moved in here because I was moving back from across the country and needed something secured before I moved. Don't be desperate. Predators pray on desperate people. When was this previously stated? What record do you have that shows I was notified before hand of the rekeying or charge for it? Why are the only reviews that aren't 1 star, reviews you have to solicit from tenants?
We understand how frustrating unexpected charges can be, and we want to clarify the situation. As previously communicated, the $208 charge includes both the service fee and the lock change fee that were incurred after you reported the keys lost. Per our standard security protocol, lost keys require a full rekeying of the unit to protect future tenants, and this process does result in additional charges. According to our records, this was explained at the time the charges were applied.
Experiencia negativa: Housing Hub assumed management of my apartment complex and lease midway through my tenancy. Unfortunately, my experience with them was characterized by consistently poor communication, which led to avoidable stress and financial confusion. As the building’s caretaker, the lack of communication also made it difficult to manage responsibilities like trash removal and cleaning supplies, which impacted other residents as well.

Experiencia negativa: Absolutely poor communication with signing a lease and looking at potential properties with these people we filled out the application paid for them had them sent in with all of my proofs of everything income, verifications all of the above took them two weeks and it Landed on the first of the month when we are moving out of our place to get an answer of no based on Credit. I communicated with my leasing agent multiple times That they were the only place we had filled apps out for and didn’t wanna go anywhere else because of the cost and to let us know as soon as possible because we are short on time. Not only that I have other properties that may have rented to me this was after they received the application and saw the background, but did they say no I don’t think we can work with you. No, they drag us out all the way to the first of the month knowing the situation we are in and tried to tell me that three places said no, which I just don’t believe that, cause my background is not that damn bad a couple collection accounts and a misdemeanor for false info of the police in like 2018 just doesn’t seem like a reason to me, especially when the income as well over and rental history is unmarked. to my defense I provided proof of the fraudulent activities that were on my credit and criminal background that was over five years old that I also provided documentation of me finishing school classes and that I’ve been doing great for the last 4 years, not only that it was misdemeanor stuff that isn’t that big of a deal. Nothing crazy, know reason to deny somebody a place to live especially when their income is up to par. Everytime I gave them information as far as income proof or my rental history for my landlord that I’ve lived at for five years with a good history it wasn’t good enough wanted more more more so I finally got a double deposit Together, called them told them I had double deposit and still not even a return phone call it makes me feel like it was more than just my background for the reason they said no. Not only that I’ve never worked with the property management company that has to check with the owner of every house to see if they can rent to somebody don’t most property management companies manage the company isn’t that the whole point of it at least every company I’ve met with in the last few days they don’t check with the owners of the properties because they’re the property management company just saying it was a bunch of bullshit and they took my money.

With this, we consider credit, background, and rental history. Each application must also be reviewed by the property owner, which can sometimes extend the timeline, and they ultimately have the final say. We regret any frustration this may have caused, and please understand this was not our intention.
Experiencia negativa: Kept my deposit as retaliation because I broke my lease due to safety reasons. They do not care about your safety as long as you pay them their money. Megan lied and said I had to pay $300 and a full month rent if I wanted to break my lease. After I called her out on it she deleted the email and in return kept my deposit because I didn’t want to stay and had every right to leave WITHOUT CONSEQUENCES! Everything I’ve heard about them has been bad and I see why. I will never recommend this housing company to anyone! Stay far away! Update: still no response about me having to pay $300 in order to break my lease. Yall look for reason a to keep people money and knew that I wanted to leave. Yall kept giving me the run around with both signatures signed and I had no choice but to sign saying I forfeit my deposit so please stop lying for business.
Tranetta, we understand that forfeiting your security deposit due to the early termination of your lease is frustrating. However, we did provide documentation outlining this policy, which you reviewed and signed. While we regret that this has been a difficult situation, the terms were clearly communicated and agreed upon in advance.
Experiencia negativa: literally the worst housing company in the twin cities. Gives you the work around, turns your amenities off, takes your keys, comes in without notice. Genuinely breaking laws without a care because everyone who rents from them is too poor to do anything about it. Grossly abusing tenants without a care...

If your amenities were temporarily shut off, it was only in connection with necessary repairs to your unit or the property, for which notice is also provided. Experiencia fantástica: Maintenance is always responsive. I had the pleasure of having Andy handling a few items I needed done. Including finding a hinge for my kitchen cabinet that is from the 60s (which i love). I was so happy that he was able to find the solution. He was also very good at communicating with me on the status of parts coming in and when he was going to come by to my apartment, which is thoughtful and appreciated as a single female. Thanks Andy!

Experiencia negativa: Highly recommend NOT renting through housing hub. I have been dealing with numerous maintenance issues that they have failed to address for several months now such as mold, leaking ceiling, leaking refrigerator and a window that won’t open (it’s the middle of summer in Minnesota) After a month and a half of poor communication they sent someone to “fix” the leak which resulted in maintenance cutting a hole in my ceiling and then saying that they can’t do anything else. No one has been in contact with me about getting it resolved since and it has been 3 days. They will cancel or mark your service requests as resolved when they have never been addressed. They say they will submit a work order on your behalf and proceed to ignore you. Horrible service, horrible communication and an overall horrible experience. I wish I could give zero stars. I have reported them to the city.

Experiencia negativa: Don’t rent with this company. They don’t update anything. I moved in and it looked like this(see photos) and my tub didn’t drain for half of my lease. And on top of that that charged me for fixing the terrible plumbing that was broken when I moved in! The maintenance people are rude, the management is terrible. Getting in contact with them is ALWAYS an issue. They say one thing and then go back on it and act like it didn’t happen. They offered to break my lease and then pretended that they didn’t say anything about it. When I reached out they responded rudely and pretended that they didn’t offer to break my lease, then said I could turn in my keys and they’d offer the space. Why would I pay for rent for someone else to live there? Makes no sense Don’t sign a lease with these people they will SCREW YOU OVER any opportunity that they get.
