Fantastic experience: I am writing to provide a review for Shayla Glore, our property manager with Alaska Property Managers LLC. I am extremely happy to have found Shayla. She is professional, prompt, and courteous in all of her dealings. She handles interactions with both my tenants and me excellently, and I truly appreciate her positive attitude and clear communication style. Living in Colorado while she manages my property in Alaska, I am very grateful to have someone I can trust to take on the burden of managing a rental from thousands of miles away. I highly recommend Shayla to anyone who needs assistance finding rentals or managing a property; both she and her company are worth every penny. Tania Mitchell

Negative experience: If there was an option for zero stars, that's what I'd be choosing. I don't write reviews because I prefer to deal with people face to face. However, my wife and I have been renting a property for the last 9 1/2 months and I've learned to get it in writing. Upon moving in, we were guaranteed that the broken bathroom window would be replaced and the home owners hot tub would be removed. We were told we would also be provided physical keys since the locks were all electronic based. Taking them at their word, none of it ever happened, leading to no ventilation in the bathroom since the bathroom fan has never been serviced/cleaned. Mold continues to grow all over the wooden window sills due to excessive moisture. Upon further inspection, every window crank except for one is operational, which blew the window open during a windstorm. The front door electronic deadbolt malfunctioned in October. We were locked out of our house until a locksmith arrived, and we finally received keys once I asked the locksmith to make a set. This leads us to the final incident, where we found our bedroom window frozen open, since the crank is missing, keeping us from securing the window. Other than unfinished paint/spackling on walls, carpet buldged and uneven, gaps in kitchen flooring and baseboard covers dislodged from the wall, issues listed above are the most serious. Before it's mentioned that we agreed to and signed the papers to rent the property, yes we did. Again, I state I've learned to always get it in writing when guarantees are verbal. I will not name names, but with how much we are charged for rent, these occurances should not happen. Home owners took the cheapest possible route aesthetically and this company is charging every penny they can for it. Unacceptable.

Fantastic experience: I haven't rented from them yet but wanted to make a positive note about my apartment search - Kelly and Jess were right on time and made time to show me the apartments I was trying to look at. I believe they would make good property managers, I just ended up at a different spot. (I think they look after quite a lot of properties but do their best to keep up and do a good job!)

Fantastic experience: Nikki is a communicative, professional and knowledgeable property manager. She took over a situation we had managed because we moved out of town, and she really went above and beyond considering what she was up against. The pricing is a deal for the level of professional service we get. 10/10 recommendation, thank you Nikki!

Fantastic experience: Nate Castle took on our 6-plex after hearing how horrible it was managed. We truly were going bankrupt due to our previous property manager. Nate stepped in and cleaned it up, renovated it strategically, raised rents, and kept outstanding records. I fully trust and support Nate. If you are looking for a manager, he is amazing and you won’t be let down.

Fantastic experience: If you’re looking for a property management company, you’ve found the one! Michelle has been an absolute godsend. Her promptness and quality of work shows how much she truly cares for clientele. Our HOA has only swapped over recently, but the difference in customer service has been staggering. The previous management company took me years to get services scheduled and reimbursed but with her? Nearly the same day! I could not recommend Michelle and Alaska Property Managers enough. 500 stars if could!

Negative experience: My husband and mother applied for one of the units listed on the first week of August which is no longer available. Till this day no one has reached out even though there was an email saying that someone will reach out to us soon. I emailed Carrie and also the accounting department regarding our situation and no response. I called their office and the woman who answered the phone strictly told me that all application fees are non refundable and I asked to speak to a manager but non was available and took down my information .Three times now I have reached out and this company has not gotten back. This company never provided any services but yet took $150 ($50 each x 3 ppl) in application fees. Very disheartening because I chose this company based on the reviews/stars, and I just feel like we were stolen from. We were just trying to get back on our feet, after moving here from Maui due to the Lāhainā fires and it just sucks that a big company like this seems like they have no care for the people who applied though them.

Negative experience: I would think twice about applying for a rental unit with this company. I applied directly off their website for a house on August 11. The confirmation email said my application was received and someone would contact me soon. Merely 24 hours later the house was no longer available on their website It is August 23 and no one has contacted me about my application. I’ve called twice and emailed once, no one will respond back. I was scammed out of a $50 application fee. Beware, it appears they take your money and do nothing with it.

Fantastic experience: We’ve been using Alaska Property Managers for a year now and they are fantastic. Carrie is extremely professional and took plenty of time to walk me through the process. She’s been awesome keeping our condo renters and managing our renter’s needs!

Fantastic experience: Nate went above and beyond any expectation we had of a propertymanager. Our house was completely set up with furnishings out of storage, and forwarded mail was waiting on the counter. We were grateful of Nates preparations after an arduous 13 day drive from Connecticut to Alaska with 5 dogs and a toddler.

Fantastic experience: Kelly Kile is the worlds best landlord. If you rent from Ak Property Group pray to the sweet heavens above that Kelly is your landlord. Any problem or complaints you have the rest assured he will take care of them you don’t have to worry about anything. In Kelly we trust.

Negative experience: I’ll share the negative feedback first. I had seen many great properties so I requested to have a viewing….no response. So I put in an application, paid their $50 application fee, and still no response. I then call and ask about it and was told that the person would message the property manager and let them know I called. Still no response. I then just want a refund of the $50 fee I paid, and the woman in the office was rude and just told me to contact the property manager who isn’t answering their phone or texting back. If you can’t even get ahold of them to view the place, or apply for it, imagine what it would be like if any issues were to arise after you are a tenant! If you can’t manage the amount of business you have, I suggest being less greedy, and work with what you can handle without compromising your quality of service. The pros: The places look fairly priced, and the photos look nice. I would not be able to comment on what the rentals actually look like. 1 yr later: they respond to this negative review after I already had it taken care of.

Negative experience: I’ve had the rudest interaction with Kelly. He is super rude and I assume he has gotten fired from an owner of the property I’ve already applied to and gotten approved by him. He then tells me to leave me alone after asking him if I would be able to connect with the owner. Prior to this, he does not seem to has professional etiquette.

Fantastic experience: Kelly Kile has been amazing! We found ourselves in a terrible situation with our first property manager. Kelly came in and completely turned our unit around. He is knowledgeable, honest, and hardworking.

Negative experience: Listen, I don't like doing negative reviews but please be cautious to use APM. Looking into taking this company to court for taking the Security Deposit in FULL after only being in contract for less than 24hr period. Sent the requested payment in full Realized the apartment wouldn't work out, and asked to cancel contract. Didn't even move in, literally canceled 24hrs post tour/signing with management. They consider the Security Deposit as part of the Reletting fee. I'm talking a thousand dollars + , and they could care less. This is how good folks get the rug swept right under them. Ak Court System should be looking at their "contract" and how they are "applying" their "reletting fee" to the Security Deposit . AK Tenant Act shows this is illegal!, and this company is taking advantage of renters who can't afford a lawyer and is struggling to find adequate housing. Lucky to be prepared in this case with plenty of financial wiggle room to navigate into next apartment without the return of these funds. Absolutely unethical and they know it.

Fantastic experience: Carrie Jaime is a pleasure to work with! As a property investor, I can fully rely on Carrie's professionalism and depth of knowledge. Carrie knows the real estate market, she knows the AK Landlord & Tenant act, and she knows how to get things done! Highly recommended.

Fantastic experience: Professionalism like Carrie’s should be the definition of property management. She was our first landlord here in Anchorage Alaska. Although I had never rented before, I own 2 homes in another area. With zero rental experience she indicated that everything on paper was a hard no. She did not know that if this rental did not work out my family and I would not have moved here to Anchorage. I had been turned down 3-5 times based off zero rental history, things were getting tough. I started to wonder if this was the right thing to do. I had even pulled my retirement to move to Anchorage. The plan in moving was to get my 2 daughters into some better schools. Not wanting to leave Anchorage was the best it would get. I was expecting to be denied again, my spirit was very down, it seemed like the excitement of starting a new life was not in the cards. My children were beginning to really miss me and I missed them. I left them to come down myself to find a vehicle, employment and a home. This rental was our last chance before I was going to give up and head back to the drawing board of life. Then, Carrie called me, she asked a set of questions about my lifestyle. I was just waiting for the axe. And then she said, ‘you know what? I’m going to rent to you, I have no idea why, everything on paper says no. But I’m going to rent to you. I just know its going to be okay, I’ve been doing this for so many years and I just know you’re going to do good.’ Not verbatim but thats what I remember, I was holding back tears of gratitude, my daughters and I, 7 and 11 years old at the time would have a new start in a new city with now a new home. My oldest daughter went on to graduate from Service High, Summa Cum Laude. And went on to attend college, her first choice college, Cornell University. The sense of accomplishment as a single father this gave us, for all the hard work we have done as a family. Its still hard not to get emotional to this day. With sincere and heartfelt gratitude, it was Carrie Jaime that gave us our first home. My daughters and I will never forget her for as long as we live. And for the one maintenance request we had, the maintenance guy showed up the very next morning.

Fantastic experience: Ashley Castle is the most down to earth person I know! She handles every aspect of her life; personal, family, work and people she meets along the way with the utmost respect. She is hard working and puts her best foot forward to achieve the goals she has set for herself. Faith, Hope and Love is all she needs for without these – nothing is possible! I have seen some of the properties she has worked on and totally lived up to the original plan of remodelling with pluses added along the way. Ashley is an asset to any company or people she works with!

Fantastic experience: The amazing carrie has done it again for me. 4 years ago after my accident carrie help find a great duplex that was spacious for me to get around in my wheelchair, within my budget, and good neighbors. Now after having to move again she worked her magic and once again found me a very nice place that's super close to grocery store, and even closer to my doctor's office. All while still working within my budget. She answered my call and text with a quickness. Carrie does go above and beyond for her clients all while having a smile on face and welcoming energy.

Fantastic experience: Jessica Matich has by far been the most interactive property manager and easily accessible at any time of the day. She has been very helpful with any questions or concerns we have ever had. Jessica is great at communicating with us, which is completely different from other property managers we’ve had in the past. She has been very understanding of our home needs in terms of living space and internet requirements.

Fantastic experience: Homeowner here! Wanted to take a moment and give a word about Nate. He is always helpful and as responsive as he can be. I’ve never had a problem with his services and when a problem does arise, communication is good and quickly handled.

Fantastic experience: Worked with two previous property managers before acquiring Nate Castle with AK Property Management. In short, the previous two managers did not sufficiently provide what I needed from a property manager and communication absolutely was not the best, however, Nate Castle is doing an outstanding job, in not only taking care of my tenants and the property itself, but also communicating with me any and all issues almost instantly! HI highly recommend Nate in providing his excellent services to any other property owners who are looking for someone to oversee their property. He even came down to the island of Oahu where I live to meet me in person and he absolutely is a genuinely great guy and very competent in his responsibilities. I would give him a 10 out of 10. Fantastic experience: Jessica was SUCH a great landlord! We lived at her spot in South Anchorage for just over a year and loved it! The only reason we moved out was because we bought a house of our own. It was a great place for the 2 of us and our husky and having her dogs, horses and chickens around was just an added bonus!

Negative experience: DO NOT BELIEVE THE REVIEWS. They put up fake reviews after dropping so low in stars. They will not take care of your property but love taking your payments. Carrie is unprofessional in every way. She will not fix things for tenants without threat of lawsuit. She will not take care of your property!

Fantastic experience: I have been working with Carrie for several years now, through two moves and two countries. She has always gone out of her way to take care of anything I have needed or asked her to do, and I am grateful to have her as my property manager! I came to AK Group Property Management after a terrible experience from another management company in town who didn't meet the terms of our contract and tried to extort the rest of the value of the contract from me illegally. She was there to help me resolve this issue and get started on our own working relationship immediately to get my property on the market and rented. Since we have been working together, my property has been rented out every month and every issue that has been brought up has been promptly addressed. I could not recommend anyone better!

Fantastic experience: I have used AK Group Property Management since 2018, and have not been disappointed with the excellent level of service that I have received. Specifically, Carrie has been my primary Property Manager, and she always responds to me promptly whenever I had something to discuss. I have been away from my property since 2018, but the distance isn’t an issue. Fantastic experience: I've worked with Carrie for a few years now as one of her vendors to contact for any flooring needs. That being said, it has always been a pleasant and easy process for anything she requested due to her professionalism and ease of contact with any concerns or questions. Some businesses can be a pain to work with just due to logistics or when dealing with purchases and invoicing, but I'm happy to say that hasn't been an issue with Carrie or AK Group Property Management with me.

Fantastic experience: Carrie has been my property manager for around 2 years now, and I couldn't be more impressed with her work ethic. She strives to make her clients happy, she pays close attention to detail, she gets things accomplished in a timely manner, and you can honestly tell she truly cares! I give her 5 out of 5 stars and would HIGHLY recommend her to take care of your needs as a property owner. She's a "go getter" for sure, and there's no one else I'd rather deal with in regards to my apartment and my needs as a renter.

Fantastic experience: So far I’m very pleased with this company especially with Matthew Rodriguez. He knows his job and he is doing it very professionally. Tenants are happy with him as well. And that’s in my view what matters: to help both parties to landlord (make his business go smooth without headaches) and to tenants (so they feel appreciated and enjoy where they are).

Negative experience: I just recently bought a condo and Carrie was the property manager. She never answers the phone and will only text. This is very convenient if she doesn't want to talk to you. There was a tenant in my place for a couple of months before I could move in. They both knew about an issue with the dryer and dishwasher, but failed to disclose it to me. The dryer is basically inoperable which isn't something you want to move into. I've texted her repeatedly asking for basic info from the tenant about keys, codes, and the PO box with no response. I had to hire a locksmith for $120 since I never received a response from either the tenant or Carrie. The garage door opener is also broken which will be $40 to fix. I would never suggest using this company and I will definitely not be using this company ever in the future.

Fantastic experience: Carrie was amazing to work with. My family and I needed a temporary place to live while our home is being built and Carrie was very responsive and listened to our needs. She even negotiated a shorter lease term for us and got us into our rental property in 48 hours of seeing it! We are very grateful for her attentiveness and flexibility. We highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: As a busy professional with children in sports, it was always a peace of mind knowing that Carrie and team were only a text or phone call away in the event that the home that I was renting through her needed anything whatsoever. She was always quick and responsive to resolve the issues that inevitably arose over the 5+ years she managed the property I rented. Her technology makes it easy to pay rent and manage your payment history as well. Five Stars for sure.

Fantastic experience: My husband and I want to thank Matthew Rodriguez, our Property Mgr from AK Group Property Mgt LLC, from the bottom of our heart. He and his team were amazing, professional, organized and met all our needs, even some we didn't even know we were in need of!!!! We owned a 10 unit building for 13 years that we managed ourselves.....so many things you never think of or new to ask about being a landlord. I was too nice to the tenants and they knew they could take advantage of me and not pay their rent on time.. My husband was not hearing it so lots of stress on this marriage. Matthew was recommended to us by Liz Steel, our Realtor May 2020, we were selling the most stressful thing in our life and ready to walk away with no money if need be. The first time we met Matthew at our property I knew our life was going to get much better. He was able to see what needed to be done and he had a plan!!! He asked why we needed a property mgr and I said I'm too nice and husband said I'm too angry.... Matthew said great I'm right in-between you too. He was ready to get started on day one and we are so thankful for everything he accomplished. He kept us informed of everything that was happening and we made decisions as a team. I got a monthly financial spreadsheet showing utilities paid, tenant rents, repairs and maintenance cost and any other critical items to the Mgt of the building. My TAX person was so happy! Matthew was able to find better tenants too and increase rental income. His contractors are awesome and their work was amazing. We just sold the building in June and got a good price for it, we know without Matthew's help and his experienced team, that wouldn't of been the case. Thank You Matthew for all your help and dedication to us, our tenants and our property.

Fantastic experience: After suffering the experience of poorly run, and unprofessional property management service, I was referred by my new real estate agent Liz Steele to Erica Mccdonnell of the AK Group Property Management, LLC. Erica was everything my previous property manager wasn't. She instantly provided excellent customer service that was timely, professional, and competent. Furthermore she expressed a deft touch dealing with the tenants while remembering her obligation to the owner, me. She vetted the new tenants and communicated with me as often as necessary. When I received communication from the HOA (I live in Texas now and am completely dependent on her) she promptly relayed said communication. Anytime I had a question I received an immediate answer via text or an occassionally phone call. My last property manager returned the full deposit to tenants who should never have been in my place as it was too small for them and they failed to take care of things. I had to turn around and put $6,000.00 into repairing and preparing it for the next tenants. Recently my cost of repairs to put the house on the market were kept to a minimum as the tenants bore the cost of repairs to which they were obligated. AK Group Property Management, LLC and Erica Mccdonnell restored my faith one could leave a rental property in their capable hands with supreme confidence.

Fantastic experience: Whenever I have had an issue here at Frontier, Dannielle has responded promptly to me. It’s great to know that she is there for me and that I can rely on her professionalism. One day I had an issue with my garage door. I called Dannielle and she told me that she had the names of a few professionals who could help. Before calling a professional I tried opening my garage door again an hour later and it seemed to be working fine. I called Dannielle and told her the garage door was back on track. I thanked her for her prompt and knowledgeable help. She said she was very glad that my garage door was working again and to please call her with any other issues.

Fantastic experience: I left the state to continue my education outside of Alaska and was worried about putting my property on the rental market. Matthew Rodriguez was extremely helpful with the whole process. Already being out of state on he was able to get everything done virtually and was able to get my place rented quickly. Excellent with communication and upfront. I highly highly recommend him.

Fantastic experience: Our condo association did not feel like we were getting as outlined in the contract with our prior association management, so our board started looking in August 2020 at our options. In September 2020, we started interviewing several Association Managers. Danielle Mellor was one of those that we interviewed and our board was impressed with her right off the bat. She was extremely professional and caring. It was clear to us that customer service was key, while also maintaining ethics. She stated she didn’t want to become a “big box” association manager and rather a high quality “boutique” association manager, which she has been. Once selected as our association manager, she jumped right on it so the transition was smooth. She listened to concerns from our previous management and our ongoing concerns. She was transparent with the Board regarding vendor selections, as well as taking a preventative maintenance approach (to save money) rather than reactive. Vendors have informed me that was she was easy to work with and they hope to work with her more in the future. When home owner concerns came up, she researched and addressed appropriately rather than brushing people aside. She does a great job of keeping the board aware of major issues and takes care of the day to day issues. She truly has made our community a better place to live.
