Our comment from Agencias Inmobiliarias about Grijalva Realty Corp:
Grijalva Realty Corp is a rental company that offers a wide array of properties in Tucson, but experiences may vary significantly among tenants. Many users appreciate the variety of available rentals and the prompt maintenance in certain cases, with some praising the professionalism of agents like Mary and responsive staff, especially Laura. However, numerous reviews highlight serious concerns regarding customer service, unprofessional behavior, and disorganized management. Tenants have reported issues with pest infestations, poor maintenance response times, and accusations of lost deposits or exorbitant cleaning fees upon moving out. Additionally, there's feedback noting a need for improvement in communication and ethical practices.
Despite the mixed reviews, some renters have had positive experiences, reporting timely maintenance work and a generally helpful staff. If you're considering renting from Grijalva Realty Corp, it may be wise to weigh these mixed experiences carefully.
Grijalva Realty Corp: Reviews
Negative experience: Do not RENT This place has nothing but unprofessional old miserable lady’s working in their office. I moved out because leasing agency wants to give out personal information to other tenants. And don’t let me mention their attitudes every time you call in. Anyways I moved out and I didn’t paint the walls back white because I didn’t care to. And this is how “professional” they are that even on the notice I received they still added “ugly bright color” to their letter. Very unprofessional and ugly houses with rats and roaches. And they’re charging $300 for a cleaning fee when the house wasn’t even dirty.
Negative experience: Cockroach, infested, mice, rodents, horrible experience, read your contract lease. You are responsible for that chaos. They will not help you. It can get so bad that you might have to move out because of the diseases of feces they leave behind warning caution do not rent warning, warning, warning, horrible experience
Negative experience: Do not rent here unless you want your personal information given out. I lived at a property for 10 months. And the entire time I had problems with the neighbors. Since the first day I moved in the neighbor already had the police at my house due to them saying the yard was theirs. I contacted Grijalva realty and received the worst service ever. Instead of getting the problem fixed or writing a letter stating yard boundaries they started getting very aggressive on the phone and wouldn’t allow me to talk. Then I was told my manager that I needed to “grow up”. If I wasn’t “grown up” I wouldn’t be paying 1k in rent every month plus they’re stupid fees. The leasing office proceeded to give out my personal information and other tenants personal information such as date of birth full legal name and work place. Which is ILLEGAL. Do not rent here unless you like old ladies yelling at you through the phone. Not to mention their maintenance and side companies that come work on the house are the worst.
Negative experience: Lacking integrity
Fantastic experience: Cool experience
Negative experience: This place has the worst person working the front Heavy set Male . Worst Person I ever had to work with if I was not in my lease I would have taken my business elsewhere just because of how awful he is !
Negative experience: I was going to try to see a house with Grijalva, but they make it impossible. Their weird rules and stipulations are so invasive, they are without a doubt loosing good renters... I have perfect rental history, always on time, a 680 credit score, and i make 50k at the job i have worked at for 5 years. On paper I am a perfect tenant, and not just on paper.. But this company wants to review my bank statements for 3 months? None of your business.. and they have the audacity to say its to make sure youre not paycheck to paycheck. If i was rich i wouldnt be asking to move into a house costs 1k. I am single. I make 50 thousand a year. I spend my money, and am mostly paycheck to paycheck? BUT GUESS WHAT?!?! My bills and rent are ALWAYS paid. and thats what matters.. unbelievably stuck up, you would think they're renting mansions to the elite.
Negative experience: I called them about a tiny apartment that was being repaired and he started telling me about how long it was going to take to get it done and all of a sudden he tells me to look at another apartment that they were renting which got me no where and Im still here calling them about the same apartment and no one knows anything about it
Negative experience: I am disappointed when they didn't tell me everything what need Company give someone house
Negative experience: Horrible people. Barly professionals. Ive been in the same unit for 5 years. They haven't fixed the termites in 3 years and I put in a maintenance report monthly. Oh and if the weeds grow a little too long in the monsoon season they will send me a letter saying they will evict me for breaking the lease (not having a kept yard) but the house has had termites for years and the wood is falling apart inside but you'll evict me for not cutting my grass. At this point im just waiting for the ceiling to crash on me so I can sue them. Otherwise they'll never pay attention, they dont care about you as a human being just paycheck.
Negative experience: Went to look at a rental on River Road and the place was nasty!! Tiles missing in bathrooms, a big hole in the back of the house with missing bricks, cabinets were sticky and built up with grease, needed paint everywhere, the whole place with gross!! Obviously no pride in their name or rentals.
Negative experience: Barely moved in last month and the AC unit stopped working in the middle of the night, woke up sweaty to a 90° house I reported it to the office as soon as they opened and they haven't sent anyone over from maintenance. Okay here's an update it's Aug 2025 and there is a new neighbor that's moved into our triplex, was very nice at first until she was littering all over the parking lot, then shortly after I catch someone inside my laundry room stealing my laundry soap and they run into her house it looked like a homeless person and when I went to go talk to them the house smelt like heavy substances" not marijuana ", since then I've reported everything, I've seen 5 different people strung out sleeping in our walkway to out cars and still they haven't done anything about it, I also found out that the people living here aren't even on the lease and I told grijalva office lady and she was being snobby and hasn't done anything.
Negative experience: We lived at Richey Blvd since 2017, since the day I moved in she had rodents every morning I would have to wipe the kitchen counter top with disinfectant wipes it was so bad I wish I had documented it. I got cats to help with the rodent problem and totes to keep the food It was disgusting the day I moved in. The rodents are gone thanks to my cats...
Negative experience: Informal people at all
Negative experience: If I could give a zero to this company, I would give a zero. This is the worst rental company I have ever experienced or encountered in my entire life. I am a five star review person. I do not leave one star reviews unless it is absolutely needed. I rented a residence for 12 months from this company. I left the house immaculate absolutely spotless moving ready. It looked better than when I moved into the house. I took after pictures because they refused to meet with me after I moved Out. I just got my deposit back. I paid a $3000 deposit and they only refund $1020. They said I left a bunch of trash at the house. They said that the fridge was full of food and there were dishes still in the dishwasher. I spent four days cleaning this house. This is not only one incident I’ve had with this rental company during my 12 month stay at this property in February when we had the three weeks of freezing cold weather. My heater went out and they refused to fix it for three weeks then my water heater went out and they again refused to fix it. It took two weeks for the water heater to get fixed and three weeks for the furnace to get fixed they told me it is not a requirement to have heat in the state of Arizona. I highly recommend you stay as far away from this rental company as humanly possible.
Negative experience: Erica at the front desk was very professional. She seemed much more organized/communicative than the property manager Jennifer who has been rather difficult to communicate with. We have bills sent to us to us late and when we pay them she still claims that we owe money. However there has been little to no effort to respond to emails or phone calls about these issues. On top of this, the properties are not maintained very well and there area many pests due to the house not being sealed in several locations.
Negative experience: They want you to have millionaire income for mediocre properties
Negative experience: Luis Espinoza really unprofessional lack of ability to answer emails and rude
Fantastic experience: They tried very hard to help us. Mary & Ted are great realtors..
Negative experience: Terrible management company! The broker and staff are awfully rude and unprofessional.
Positive experience: As it right now i'm leaving at four stars as I got mixed feelings
Negative experience: Horrible experience with Grijalva realty. As soon as they knew I wasn't renting from them anymore there was absolutely no customer service or good communication from them. Upon my move out I left the keys to the unit inside and they have decided to charge me over $150 for not turning them in. Even if you chop it up to a miscommunication they've decided it was worth that much. You decide if you want to rent from company like that. Update: They read this review and really stuck it to me and took 700 of my 900 deposit. I left the house and rugs spotless. And they charged outstanding cleaning fees for both. Lastly, I'm assuming because they had to pull some weeds they charged a $250 landscaping fee. The property already had weeds when we moved in. They literally stole from me.
Negative experience: Absolutely the worst realty company ever. They have zero compassion or understand very rude and hateful. Sonia is the worst of them all. Condescending and full of hate. When i have tried to explain situations she cuts you off. Shows zero care. My AC Went out on my property with my 3 children Temps up to 90 degrees in the home and they provide zero resolution other then to wait it out. Biggest mistake ever coming with this company they have lost my lease as well causing hundreds of dollars of fees they never see any mistakes they make on their part and only want to make the tenants life harder. I can not wait for this property management company to be shut down. Absolutely disgusting behavior
Positive experience: When my tenant gave notice this winter that he was leaving to buy his own house, I was in the middle of a health crisis. I am lucky that Grijalva Realty came to my rescue as they helped organize and supervise most of the needed renovations in the condo. I truly can't imagine what I would have done without them. The entire team is helpful and responsive, especially Laura and Celeste, and I will always be grateful for their caring response.
Negative experience: I now understand why this rental company has such low ratings-I saw that when I applied but felt like I had little options with rent being so high these days. This company does not give proper notice for repairs and expects you to just let the workers in when they stop by randomly. They changed their mind about what kind of work would be done the day of, and didn't tell me and I had to rearrange my whole day. They had three different workers knock on my door while I was busy working from home to try and convince me to let them in. I had to find another location to work from and a place to keep my dog while they did the work and they left my place a mess and created a hole in my ceiling that they did not acknowledge. When I asked about them fixing it, I was told "in the next couple of days." They were working on my building making very loud noise until 7pm last night. When I asked when they might be done I was told "we're done with your unit, why does it matter?" I told them the noise was very loud and it was after 5pm and they said I was being rude and should appreciate the work they did. Additionally, they weren't given a key to my unit so I had to leave my door unlocked all day while I was gone. This neighborhood is not safe-people steal my mail, my neighbors cars have been broken into. The situation was not OK and was so disrespectful to me as a tenant. The Grijalva Realty website and client portal has no contact for complaints and no formal complaint procedure. The only email address available (which the link didn't work for) was for one of the owners. I'll be shocked if she responds to my email. This company knows they are slumlords and do not care. Let the reviews speak for themselves.
Negative experience: The rental I live in changed ownership recently, and the new owners handed it over to Grijalva Realty. I had to contact Grijalva three times to confirm that the rent I had already paid to the previous owner (days before the property sale was finalized) was transferred over and applied to my account. This company seems to be disorganized and unconcerned about their tenants.
Negative experience: Luis is a jerk, got denied for owing an old apartment complex however i have papaerwork stating I had paid that in full. Offered to have a co-signer sign with me and he ghosted the whole conversation after that. Unreliable no communication skills and just a shame.
Negative experience: Emailed with no responses
Negative experience: Do not rent from these people!!! They take their time handling business, especially do not talk to Sonia, she’s extremely rude and needs to work on her customer service skills!! My electricity got turned off due to a wire they needed to replace. I asked Sonia “what am I supposed to do? Sit in a cold house with no electricity?” This broad laughed at me and my situation and said “ I don’t know what to tell you “ like really? Not only did you laugh at someone’s difficult situation but you had a rude answer to go with it? Extremely unacceptable!!!!! I work with cancer patients and at a hotel , you do not talk to people like that especially when they’re going through a difficult situation.
Negative experience: Horrible experience. Would not recommend. Called to get more information about an application and the guy was extremely rude! Was not even willing to listen and talk to us, hung up on my partner multiple times.
Fantastic experience: Wide range of available rentals from budget price to very nice, and always have something available because they manage so many rentals all over tucson... If you are having a hard time finding the right place you should check out what they have available ;)
Negative experience: If I could give this place 0 stars I would . Horrible HORRIBLE landlord. My entire house is falling apart I call at least every week for something new, my cabinets fell off my shower tile fell on my while I was showering and it took them TWO months to fix it . Ceiling has water bubbles in it and will fall all over my floors. Just terrible realty company overall
Fantastic experience: Yes my experience with Grijalva Realty has been perfect anytime something has been wrong they have fixed it same day thank you so much
Negative experience: These people are slumlords. They don't care about their tenants. Then they send back reviews making you look like you were the problem. They don't fix anything they say it's fixed when it isn't. They have the staff lie to you. These people are just a management company. If the real owners of their property knew what was really going on they would not have them in charge. I gave them 1 star but they deserve a minus 10 stars.
Fantastic experience: As a 1st time property owner in AZ (but own other out of state properties) Laura is FANTASTIC. Responsive, helpful, cooperative, and an advocate. I feel so relieved that she and her team are managing my 7 unit building. Thanks Laura!!
Negative experience: I still remember you 5 years later... this company is disgusting, not sure why dept of housing and/or BBB still allow them to keep going. DON'T MAKE BUSINESS WITH THEM!!
Positive experience: Found a place for father through Grijalva realty. Fast, Easy process. Moved in relatively quick. Maintenance orders are resolved on time. Haven't had any problems thus far.
Negative experience: Tried to view rental properties and made an appointment after trying multiple times with no answer. Day of appt we show up and no realtor in sight. When I called they tried telling me I was at the wrong property even though the verification call and text we received was for the property we were at. They told us there was nothing they could do because it was our mistake.
Negative experience: Absolute WORST property management company. We moved in and the yard had a 15ft tall dead tree and unsafe shed. Asked if I could remove before there was damage to the property. Storm blew the tree down, punched a hole through the wall 3 weeks ago. Still not fixed. Shed blew away in the same storm, hasn't been replaced. Roaches at move in, was told someone would come by spray, hasn't happened in 4 months.
Fantastic experience: I have been a tenant with Grijalva for over 4 years now and I'll give an honest opinion. They've always answered the phone when I called for a problem. Maintenance has come the next day whenever I report a problem. I can actually tell they care given the Maintenance request done in a timely manner. The property I live at is clean and in good condition. They have an online Portal that makes paying rent super easy. Their hours are very favorable and office is accessible. I've never had a problem with really anything else. Laura, Jennifer and the other office staff are actually really professional. I do recommend this company if looking to rent. I'm glad I'm a tenant with this company!
Negative experience: They drag their feet when its time to fix anything.
Positive experience: I almost never give a 5 because there is always room for improvement. I have just signed a lease with them and will update as time goes on.
Negative experience: Worst costumer serive. They just answer the phone to hang up on you after a few seconds, you can even hear them breathing or tossing around the phone and talking before they hang up on you. Can't contact them
Negative experience: Renting from Grijalva means no reliable maintenance. They will schedule times and never show up.. That is if they even reply to your maintenance request because you'll have to send at least 10 before you even get a reply. But absolutely a 100% of the time you will receive a reminder that your rent is coming up soon. They will not see you as a human they will only see you as revenue. Having rented over a dozen places on the past 30 years this is by far the worst experience ever by a mile! Greedy profiteering and lack of morals must be their motto
Fantastic experience: When I found the place I wanted to rent, I was absolutely in love, but horrified by the reviews of this realty company. It’s been nearly a year and I’ve personally had no issues. Every maintenance request I’ve had, they’ve gotten someone out within a couple days. They’re nice enough on the phone when I have to call. They call me back if they don’t have the answer right then, and they actually remember to, which is rare for so many companies. They respond to emails very quickly which is a huge plus for me, because I hate having to call anywhere. They’ve been helpful with getting new people added to the lease, and explaining things about my lease in the beginning. I like their portal where you can easily view the lease, submit maintenance requests without having to call, and pay easily. They give a generous grace period too. I like them personally.
Fantastic experience: I am a current renter and I must say that while the terrible reviews made me skeptical, Grijalva Realty has without a doubt not only met all of my needs but actually exceeded them in handling multiple situations that came about. First the A/C went out and they had it taken care of within 2 days… Fantastic! They have also shown me compassion and genuine kindness during a real tough time I’ve had recently, while needing surgery after a terrible car accident. Don’t believe all the horrible reviews on here people, Grijalva Realty is a respect worthy Organization of Good People who actually care for their Clients and Renters Alike.
Negative experience: I haven't had any problems at all with the propriety or the maintenance I had been helped when I needed it. But the customer services it's so bad. I don't know why do they have her answering the phone if she doesn't know how to talk to customers, her work supposed to be there to help or guide people with our questions or issues. I understand how working on customer service is, I do too. but if you don't like it, just find another job. I had a problem with logging in into the portal, and she was super rude, and she was refusing to help, she hang out the phone without even asking if I needed anything else or if the problem was solved. very bad.
Negative experience: I was told that they worked with section 8. I told them I needed a place before my voucher expired. After paying the application fee, I left my voucher packet with them. I called the next day and was told the man who does application wasn't working that day. I called the next day and was told the application process wouldn't be done until the following week. Then, they stopped taking my calls. So I went back there to see what was going on. The receptionist wouldn't even talk to me. She sent some guy up with my packet and he said they can't help me. The days I waisted messing with them, I could have used to find a different apartment. Overall, I was very dissatisfied.
Negative experience: The worst company I have ever dealt with. Go anywhere else. Rented a home in Sycamore Park and it was so bad we had to move after only 4 Months of being there. These guys are the absolute worst.
Negative experience: I would not rent from this place slum lords poor quality in life and inflation on rent not to mention a mice infestation that was present before I moved in was told its my problem worst duplx housing ever don't waste your time !
Negative experience: Horrible firm, they don't return phone calls, they have questionable business practices, and have lost sight of what it truly means to be a realtor. Some of the worst agents in Tucson. Maybe the staff should take a course on ethics.
Negative experience: i AM A CURRENT TENANT HERE AND WE ARE LIVING A FREAKING NIGHTMARE, RENTERS PLEASE BEWARE OF THIS REALTY. they need a zero star option because 1 star is 1 to many for them. Our home has been flooding for over 2 months. Laura Grijalva rather try to sell the property then have it properly fixed putting a family with children in danger of mold that is growing in the walls . This situation could have been taken care of months ago when it first began but they even canceled our maintenance request after a disagreement in her office. Leaving my family and I flooding for the next few weeks. They even suggested we move out even though we just signed our lease in July 2021, and us having NOWHERE to go. Everyone beware because it's been such an exhausting, stressful, depressing experience. I even went to the hospital 3 weeks ago from how bad this situation is affecting us. Please beware
Negative experience: Our home has been flooding for over 2 months. Negative experience: Very unprofessional. Can't wait for my lease to be up. Takes at least 1 to 2 weeks to get any maintenance done.
Negative experience: Stop deleting your reviews Laura Grijalva! I 9nly put a 1 star because 0 is not available! There is a young couple with 3 children who have been dealing with flooding in their unit and Grijalva Realty has done nothing to help them! It's been over over two months now and Laura Grijalva hasn't done anything to fix the problems. Instead she is asking them to vacate. Why? This family have no where to go. They've replaced their girls furniture twice!
Negative experience: Denied me because they say I owe electric, however Im paying but it shouldn't be a reason to Deni someone a place to live. It's not your bill so why should it be a problem
Negative experience: Strange thing just because I didn't have money saved in my bank account , Double of what the rent amount was , I was denied and told , I can never Apply again . Where is the customer service, instead of saying, don't give up , Hopefully tell u have some savings, will Love to help u dind a home best of Luck , something , No customer service , So say I saved to buy a house , they sell houses also right , well bad business, I plan to buy next yr , well Not with them , They're lost . I'm sure Alot of people hope to buy one day . They'll always remember, how they got turned away .
Fantastic experience: Very nice and friendly and happy with my apartment
Negative experience: They will tell you that you can renew your lease then the next month or so after that they will send you a letter to get out . Smh don’t rent from here
Negative experience: Bad customer service. dont rent from these people. They will charge you for something they tore up . Doors was falling apart and when you call them to get it fixed. They will charge you to fix it and they boot leg person they hired is the one who did it. sink was stopped up all the time. Be careful not to be late because when its time to renew and you want to rent somewhere else, they want allow you to cause you were late but still paid the rent. They told someone i know that they can renew the lease but gave only a 30 day notice to get out. that wasnt enough time to apply elesewhere an get situated. they lied about the renewal now we are stuck with no place to live because of there lies. if i could leave a million 0 reviews i would. most defintely dont rent from these people. there service is trash and the customer service is horrible. charging all kind of uneccssary fees just because they send a letter out to you . go elsewhere i warn you
Negative experience: Very unprofessional. I corresponded with Luis Espinosa about my rental application and kept being told he would have an answer for me by a certain day and time and not follow through. I feel like I was denied because I had to keep emailing him to get info. The professional thing would have been to email me back after not making the deadline that he set. Ultimately he said I was denied for not having enough money in my bank account. I emailed him again letting him know that I have most of my money in cash and can deposit it in to my account to remedy the situation. He would not respond after multiple attempts.
Negative experience: Oh, I could complain, but someone from Grijalva will post something to the contrary on this thing. Afterall, it's their website right? Well, I got turned down for a beautiful lil "Casita" only because of a low credit score. C'mon, how are u supposed to build credit if nobody will give you a chance to rebuild it? Disappointed. That's all.
Negative experience: I have messaged these people several times and several different ways and they responded once with a basic email saying check their website. Okay! They nevered answered my questions. Poor way to do business
Negative experience: This place is horrible!!! Not professional at all they don't communicate with you houses look horrible.
Negative experience: Lack of professionalism during written communication. The agent who showed me the property talked me basically into applying even though I was concerned about parts of my credentials and that we were up against other applicants. I agree with previous reviewers that it feels like a scam to get your application fee. All the information about how my application would be considered changed after I submitted it. Please do not be like me and apply without reading the reviews (even if you feel like you’ve finally found the perfect property after months and months of searching).
Fantastic experience: We were turned down because of low credit scores. You might be good rent paying people but... Seems like no one is willing to give you a chance if your credit score is low. We're a family of 7 never miss paying rent, so who gonna give you a chance. I won't say nothing negative about them. They did show us a place. It cost us 180.We can't afford to pay these applying fees for a one time fee. God Bless them.
Negative experience: They will steal your money for application fee with no intention of renting to you. Never explain that you have to have good credit to rent an apt but then deny your application based on a false credit report. They said my credit was 580 when indeed my credit is 623 . I know this because I just got approved for a home loan. They will have 20 people apply for one apartment and without any bases deny all 20 people and just got application fees from all of those 20 people. This place is a scam. Stay away
Positive experience: Wide variety of places for rent and for sale...just not the place I wanted or could afford.
Negative experience: Listing are not in good areas for the price
Negative experience: They have the lowest quality in rental homes no one ever returns phone calls and they are quick too close and deny approval for Unnecessary reasons
Fantastic experience: Grijalva Realty has been managing several rental properties I own for the past three years. Laura Grijalva and her team are great communicators, very professional, and they resolve issues quickly. I am extremely happy with the service they provide.
Positive experience: They were helpful
Fantastic experience: They are great people plus when something is messed up they are there right away
Negative experience: Cherry Picking? OR a SCAM to get application fees? 1179 Sonoita (Renters beware) Too good to be true,...it is. I feel redundant here, but as others have said "I think this is a scam" I agree! They told me a week before Christmas that there was app in "but it was on hold." I hurried and sent in my $60 app fee. Was denied for bad credit. Then I called and spoke to Luiz and asked him if it would help if I had a co-signer. He said "YES" it would. So I paid another $30 to have my boss co-sign for me. Then it was denied for low income (which I met the 3xrental rate) and they said they went with another applicant. If they would have told me that UP FRONT!!! I would HAVE NEVER PAID ANOTHER $30.00 for a co-signer. OH! and the place is still on FaceBook and AZRedirental.com for rent. DO NOT BELIEVE THEM!
Fantastic experience: Helpful and friendly
Negative experience: This is an absentee realty company - they don’t answer any communications be it their own site maintenance requests, Facebook messenging, emails, phone calls. Check out their yelp reviews. Bad! I will continue to update my determined attempts to get a response from this company. Last attempt - sent a direct email to Ed, one of their realtors. No response as with other attempts. Moved in one month ago and it has been one problem after another. I might have reacted differently if I had lived there for months. One example, irrigation system totally non functional. Their repair company, DR maintenance cleaned out the unit. It now works but he didn’t look at any of the drip lines. Hired my own landscaper who came out and replaced most of them. Bushes had already started turning brown. Blinds don’t work, tub leaks, water softener is filled with moldy water, big tub of rotting vegetation and old items in back yard. Maintenance man said that the last tenants did all their own maintenance. Nice- I have moved into a fixer up home. The owner gets the tax and appreciation benefits while I work on their home. Hmm, Update - Notice the companies response? There are several work orders on file that have the word cancelled next to them. So yes you can submit them but they won't call or respond. Also they say they answer the phone. They do every once in a while, and the staff member says she has told the broker and that they will go back. But they don't. They also suggest email which as I mentioned I have used. So this is just another boilerplate response. I still have not heard from them!
Negative experience: The rental next to my place is managed by Grijalva Reality. My recent neighbors gate collapsed in the back and Grijalva took forever to fix it. I found out my neighbors had and reported existing issues with insect pests and a water pipe issue that was not taken care of before they had moved in. My neighbors were quiet, very clean, personable, and only moved due to the poor management and lack of existing upkeep on the property. It is very concerning. I hoped that there would be signs that they would work with the owner to fix the existing issues with the property before renting to someone new but there is already a for rent sign up.
Negative experience: I have rented an apartment for 4 years and can usually deal with unresponsiveness on Grijalva's part when it comes to maintenance requests. Now I've reached my end and will submit a 30 day notice because of new neighbors downstairs. I have knocked on their door twice and asked that they stop playing music after a certain hour but they continued. I called late at night and left several voice messages with Grijalva requesting help and never got a call back. I called the office on Monday morning (after having left a voice message Sunday night at 11 PM) and spoke to Adrian who couldn't give an answer on whether the neighbors had received a notice and if they did, when. He said he would send something (maybe drop it off? mail it? idk) it was hard to understand him and he was not clear at all about what they can or can't do. I'm not asking for a miracle where Grijalva can magically change these pea brains but their music was thumping until midnight tonight. I work from home, have an early meeting tomorrow. It would be nice if Grijalva could communicate back about what to do, what they can do, etc. My only resort seems to be to call the police but that just seems like it'll open the door to retaliation. I already tried, I expect the property manager to mediate but that doesn't happen and the neighbors continue to push. I've stomped my feet, prompting them to come upstairs and ask me to stop. It's ok for them to make noise, I see. The guy sneezes or laughs and I can hear him and for some reason, they believe that I should put up with their noise. I can provide a timeline of various contact made to Grijalva- just know you won't get any call backs and that you have to be on them if something goes wrong.
Negative experience: This is the rudest rudest agency I have ever even attempted to work with the client engagement the worst ever I cant believe the reviews with how they treat people . This is just horrible and sad I was so happy to even apply for the property what a horrible thing and horrible people they have working in this business.. I usually don't write reviews but wow what a horrible way to present a business and treat people.
Negative experience: This is hands down the worst rental company. I advised them of a mouse infestation in the units due to it is a multi unit complex and they told me that’s my problem. After having to get legal help they fixed the issues on the exterior which let the mice in but refused to fix things such as the oven that was completely unusable after the mice had deficated in the insulation.. again saying it’s my job to clean it.. after several complaints the health department warned them but due to a small clause of “ you take care of pests” there was nothing that could be done. I warn anyone who rents with them do not do so
Negative experience: In one word horrible!!!!!!!¡!! It does not even deserve a star..
Negative experience: The dont fix anything. Terrible place to live. Don't rent here.
Fantastic experience: I called the emergency number at midnight when I saw my ac was not working, at 2:00am Jennifer called me and said she would have a repair man call me in the morning. Now my ac is working great she was very efficient in her response. Thank you . Sueantha McLain
Negative experience: We really wanted one of their properties. We met everyone of their criteria. They gave lame reasons that we had a solution for. We have a stellar rental history and a steady income. We offered to pay a bigger deposit, offered a cosigner, si, montgs up front, and then even the entire lease up front. They said that they wont do it because the rent we pay now and the monthly rent of the property was too much of an increase. Like they are trying to stop people from upgrading for their families sake. When still declined i asked to speak to the manager (what a karen, i know) i was told that she personally denied it and wouldn't speak with us. Oh, and they kept our 60 app fee. Im starting to think that is their main income. The application fees. The rudest ive ever been treated while trying to rent a place. If the manager/owner can please get in touch, id be curious to know if shes aware of how potential clients get treated. In the end i suspect it was because we have a 4 year old and a 1 year old. Blatant discrimination. Check out ALL their other reviews. not one nice thing said about them. If i owned this company i would clean house.
Negative experience: Never answer phone or call back
Negative experience: So context I was evicted for non payment as I went through a rough patch. Maintenence is a now-show most of the time. And follow up to get them is phone tag/pulling teeth. I payed them the money I owed them 2 years ago and I have the receipts and they still haven't reported that to the credit agency so that is impacting me trying to get a house now. Don't go through them.
Fantastic experience: Found a place that I love!!!
Negative experience: Trying to rent. Called they told me go online and fill out an application and someone would get back to me within 48 hours. It's been 2 weeks and still no call. Can find more by yourself
Negative experience: This place is a rip off. They take your 30 dollars and the staff tells you 3 different things and they dont do a fist come first serve they pick through several applications and choose by who makes the most money their words not mine. They also said you have to have perfect credit if you need a co signer so save your money folks cause they have a shady way of doing business. This is the second time I have tried getting a place from them and got a thanks for your 30 dollars but we just rented that place. Ok so I ask is their other places? Sure for another 30 dollars and if someone makes more money than me and wants it I am s.o.l again. Shame on this place for this. If someone makes 3 times the rent and looks at a place first then they should have first dibs. You keep stealing peoples money. I wish I had read up on the comments before I wasted 60 dollars on thia shady company. You deserve the 1 and 2 stars.
Negative experience: I submitted an application for a listing and they denied it and did not notify me, I had to call them several times and ask for a supervisor to get answers. They denied my application due to not having money in my bank account. Even though I make 37 thousand a year and the rent was only 825, I have a fair credit a score of 622 and 48 months of on-time payments on my credit, a clean criminal record, and no evictions under my name. They are a scam and make a profit on denying applications and discriminated me for being a single mother and only having my older brother as a support system.
Fantastic experience: As an owner, I've never had any problems with them. A lot of the things they're getting blamed for in the bad reviews are at the owner's discretion so they don't necessarily deserve the rating they have.
Negative experience: Calling for different rental properties all locations in Tucson, every time their responses was already rented, has been rented for the past month, there's already an application approved, they honestly sound like they can care less for what you're calling about every day is the same story.
Negative experience: I attempted to retrieve information, a Tom answered he was extremely rude and very unprofessional didn’t offer to help and dashed through an email address that i couldn’t hear, after that he hung up with out a word. Very Poor customer service!!
Negative experience: Be careful when you deal with these people. I applied for a place, application was approved but they said they were going to go with another applicant and sent me info on another rental they had in the area. I couldn't get into town to actually look at the place but was instructed to put a refundable security deposit down to hold the rental. Then they instructed me to sign this BOGUS document which states that if I don't want the apartment after viewing it, that I forfeit my security deposit to them. BEFORE I EVEN GOT TO SEE THE UNIT. They told me they would refuse to show me the place UNLESS I signed and got aggressive over the phone. I've requested my deposit back, they told me I can pick up a check next week. I'll update with how well that process went *edit - Idk who answers phones there because it's literally a different person each time, but there is one especially aggressive female that makes everything so much harder than it needs to be. Anyway, I got my money back so I guess they can have their 1 star
Negative experience: The house I'm renting wasn't really ready when I moved in. I have to deal with spiders, sewer roaches and mice. The ceiling in my living room and bedroom are sunk in, my shower is only 2x2, my fence needs to be replaced. It took a month to get both sinks fixed, 2 weeks to get my window a/c's and it took a month to replace my back screen door. Plus they don't do transfers with their own property. This company is a dam joke. On another note I put in 3 maintenance repair requests for my heater in January to have it fixed due to a carbon monoxide leak and a Technician finally showed up on Monday 3/10 to fix it and still not fixed. I sent them a letter in the mail stating the issues and that I'm giving them notice and was told my notice wasn't proper. I was hit with $550 for breaking my lease, I have to pay for April. This company is worthless.
Negative experience: Me and my girlfriend looked at a house that was up for rent and as soon as we got back home we filled out an application to rent it, we were told we would know if we got approved for it in 3 to 5 business days. A full week went by and no call, so we decided to call and check on the status of that application and they said they forgot to call us back just to tell us that the house was taken, and they funny thing is that it was still posted on their website and on Facebook when we called. Now even tho they failed to call and let us know about the house, we though they would be fair enough to refund the $60 fee that we spent on the application, but they refuse to do so. THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!
Negative experience: After reading all of these reviews I feel obligated to help donate to the cause! What a horrible company it looks like and with no owner feed back to these negative comments? Hey Laura thanks for your response I don't know if you are aware but your company has a 2.1 star rating out of 152 reviews why would anyone want to rent a property through your company. 2.1 stars is a company to avoid at all costs. I look for companies with at least a 4 star rating or higher. With that low of stars you need to reevaluate the way your company is run.
Negative experience: Thank god I decided to go with their competitor you guys are so rude for no reason. On top of it there's nothing but bad reviews lol
Negative experience: If I can put zero stars I would! These people are money hungry and will do anything to screw you in the end of you getting a descent deal in the beginning! DONT USE THESE PEOPLE!!
Negative experience: This company is a nightmare. Awful customer service, not helpful in anway. The home they rented to us is in shambles. Gas leaks, plumbing issues, burst uninsulated pipes, all within the first two weeks, not to mention the price changed twice before we moved in. The home was so filthy and smelly we had to clean it ourselves multiple times, maintenance has had to come multiple times because nothing is correctly put together, then we recieved a call asking us to put in one single work order rather than as it happens like it's our personal problem they're cheap. Would love to do online payments if it wasnt $26 processing fees. If it wasnt for their sweet agent Mary company would likely fail. I would never reccomend this rental management company to anyone. Less than a month and I've already turned in the 30 day notice to leave at the end of the 12 month lease.
