Negative experience: I’ve been inquiring about an issue with HomeLight for several months now, and the lack of support is unacceptable. I’ve tried calling multiple times and only get routed around to different people who all say they can help—but no one ever actually resolves the issue. Emails go unanswered, and getting a hold of a live person to address a technical problem feels impossible. The only reason I’m giving even one star is because I do find Disclosures.io useful. But beyond that, I am extremely dissatisfied with the service, responsiveness, and customer support. As a paying professional who depends on these tools, I expect far better.

Fantastic experience: Our team at EO&A has been working with Mackenzie and the HomeLight team for over five years and they are always super helpful, friendly, professional, and committed to delivering great service to both us and the referred clients they have sent us.

Negative experience: Dishonest, they will rob your money. They don't know anything about real estate business. Top management is corrupted. NEVER use this company.I have multiple proofs of their corruption. I will need 10 pages of this review to fill. Few to mention, while they have an active contract with me (the first buyer) they listed the house on sale and got an accepted offer from a 2nd buyer, without cancelling my contract. They use their own teams to produce fake inspection reports (conflict of interest). This house referred in pics has a major issue in the roof, and appraisal was contingent to the repairs of the roof. Per the pics attached the listing agent listed the house on the market while the contract with me was still active, misleading a second buyer with their untruthful descriptions. If you need more details, feel free to contact me. This company should not be in business.

Fantastic experience: I contacted Home Light out of frustration with the condition renters had left my home in. After having the tenants evicted and the property cleaned up they put me in contact with several buyers interested in the home. I was able to chose between using an agent or accepting a cash offer. The process was much less painful then I thought it would be. Home Lite agents were knowledgeable and really seemed to care about helping me sell my home. Selling a home can be a little scary (especially if you’ve never done it). Home Lite made it easy to make a decision and was there for me with any questions I had. I was able to sell my home within 30 days, as is , for a reasonable price. I will refer friends to them in the future and consider them if I ever have to sell a home again.

Fantastic experience: As part of my due diligence to find a realtor to sell my home of 44 years in an historic district, I reached out to Homelight. I can't say I felt an online outreach would be productive, but I gave it a try. Much to my surprise, I found a realtor who was a perfect fit for me. I didn't want to be pestered or lied to. I did want my calls answered and to get solid guidance when I needed it. I found someone who not only respected me and my time, but who knew all about the vagaries of historic homes. Fantastic experience: I want to commend my agent, Mr. Ristau and his team on assisting me through the process of selling my home. He gave me sound advice on market pricing and preparing my property for showings. When things were delayed a little bit, the assistance received from the attorney was on point with professional guidance on the matter. Fantastic experience: After 6 months of trying, and several contracts later, we felt like we had an unsellable condo, even though we had done a full renovation. I was doing research and HomeLight came up. I had a call with them and they connected us to a great realtor who had tons of experience in the downtown condo market of Chicago! Fantastic experience: The last time I sold a house I interviewed a dozen different realtors to determine who I wanted to work with. This time I contacted Homelight. Someone called me from Homelight and interviewed me. They asked me questions about my house and determined what I was looking for in a realtor. They offered 3 candidates and I then I interviewed only three. Fantastic experience: My parents, brothers, and I are very thankful we have Elizabeth Lots as our Real Estate Agent. She was very helpful and understanding from the start of my home buying journey, until we finally closed on the new construction house we wanted and got the keys. Fantastic experience: I worked with Matt Cannon on my move to the Sarasota area. I used Homelight to start my search for a realtor and it matched me with Matt. He was the first to call me and have a chat about the specifics of my move and what I was looking for etc. I was relocating to the Sarasota area for a new job opportunity. I had a very critical timeline as I had to sell my property in Massachusetts and then would have to search for something in Florida while possibly remote. Luckily, I had a great realtor in Massachusetts (also recommended via Homelight) and I got an offer that I accepted within a week of meeting and listing my place. So, during a visit to Florida to start my new job, I was able to seriously look and place an offer on a property. Since properties were not listed very long, I was worried about waiting until the weekend to look. Matt was very flexible and said he would set up showings whenever I have available time. I went through the listings he filtered down based on my input of what I was looking for. I listed out ones I wanted to see right away, others that I would like to see but not a huge rush (could wait until the weekends). The first night we looked, I found a property I really liked. He called up the realtor to see what was going on and found out 2 other offers already but the realtor would wait for our offer if done quickly. We quickly got our offer together and submitted. I assumed I would not get with the competition so we looked at some other properties the next night and I found a good back up. Matt was very reassuring through the process that we would find something that I liked and in my budget. We ended up winning the first offer. I had to return to Massachusetts to pack up that house and close on that sale and make the move to Florida. Matt assisted with any issues including setting up utilities in Florida since I was remote. Any time I needed a recommendation on someone to help redo the closet or someone to assist with a task, Matt had a name and recommendation to send me. Fantastic experience: Having gone through 2 realtors during the course of 8 months with no offers on our investment home we decided to use Homelight to see if could find a better realtor. We were presently surprised .I am an investor that has dealt with more than 20 investment properties in several states from Florida and Georgia to South Carolina and Maine. Fantastic experience: Aubrey Cook was phenomenal!! HomeLight did an excellent job pairing her with us.. she’s extremely knowledgeable in the Housing Market which was a plus.. Fantastic experience: The HomeLight service and the team they recommended to help me sell my moms house was nothing short of AMAZING! There just are t words to describe the hard work, support, and care they all put into getting the house sold. The proceeds are going to provide my mom the care she deserves in a Memory Care Facility and the tram treated every step of the process with the urgency it required as if she was their own mom. It was seem less and as stress free as selling a house can be. We had multiple contracts within hours of posing the house. Although a couple of contracts fell through, they immediately sprung into action, started showing it again and had another solid deal almost immediately. Fantastic experience: Home light did an excellent job at matching me with local realtors. I was given several options of realtors nearby and homelight provided them with my contact information so that they could reach out, which was great. All of the recommended realtors seemed to be good matches but we really like Sam on the Ron and Carol Young team of Keller Williams in Blue Bell, PA. He was absolutely wonderful to work with and I don’t think we would have found him without the help of Homelight. Fantastic experience: When I decided to sell my home, it was at a difficult time, as I travel for a living. I saw an advertisement for HomeLight, and it looked like just what I needed, someone to do the legwork for me and put me in touch with true professionals. I started receiving phone calls almost immediately after contacting HomeLight, and made several appointments at my convenience. But at the second appointment, I knew I had found the right agent. Stacey Abbot came to my home at my convenience, did a thorough walkthrough, made recommendations, agreed on an asking price and signed the listing agreement on the spot. Fantastic experience: I wasn’t quite sure what I was looking for when I contacted HomeLight regarding a property of interest. That was of no consequence, as HomeLight quickly matched me with an excellent realty company. Fantastic experience: Selling a home from another state is never easy. When I had to sell the family home I searched for a company that could help me through the process. I ran across the HomeLight web site and put in the address. I was presented with a list of agents and picked the one I thought would work best for us. I picked Danielle Moy due to the fact that she sold more homes in the area than any other agent. Danielle was very responsive and was able to set up a time to visit the home and prepare the listing documents while I was in state. After that all the showings and offers were communicated to me very quickly and we accepted an offer 48 hours after the listing went live. HomeLight provided a real estate attorney free of charge to work on the closing and I was able to get everything done and the home sold without having to make another trip into the state. My overall experience with HomeLight was great and I would recommend them for your real estate needs!

Positive experience: The service from HomeLight worked out great for me. HomeLight referred me to a local Realtor named Stephanie Orsi. She was very easy to work with and very effective. We got the house sold to someone who looked at it in the first week on the market. We asked $449,000 and got an all-cash offer of $445,000. After some up-and-back regarding a couple of relatively minor issues, it sold promptly for $442,000. And I paid 4.5% commission instead of 6% as I would have with other Realtors.

Fantastic experience: Homelight has been a wonderful addition to our real estate team. Their customer service is outstanding and the leads they send over are excellent buyers and sellers that are actually willing to speak with an agent (a rare find for online leads!). Very early on we were able to secure and close a $900K listing. Running a $100M+ real estate business requires partnering with like minded companies and individuals. Positive experience: As a first time home buyer I was very disappointed with the recommendation I received from Home Light. I received a match with a realtor stationed several cities away which I had to commute to to close and deliver the earnest deposit. I also felt that very little attention was focused toward my home search and the relaying of important information that I felt should be explained to me as a first time home buyer before it came time to execute that step. I felt very alone in this process, having to find houses my self to look at, having to look up my own home buying FAQ so I knew what was going on since the information wasn’t relayed to me, and the lack of follow ups when I did reach out requesting information. My experience was very different than other people I have talked to regarding their interaction with their realtor. I don’t blame Home Light for the negative experience I had, I just wish that things like this are vetted through Home Light before someone is recommended on the website. The only thing I can say positively about my experience is at the end of it all my realtor did secure the deal for me allowing me to buy the home.

Fantastic experience: Buying or selling a home can be daunting, and the first step is to find a good agent. When I found HomeLight, it easily did the work for me. The website was intuitive and fast. I was matched to three good agents in my area who contacted me, and HomeLight followed up on my decision for an agent. I felt very comfortable using HomeLight and would highly recommend It to anyone buying or selling a home.

Negative experience: I tried this service and was matched with 3 agents and notified they'd be in touch soon. I really liked the idea that HomeLight aggregates nationwide data. The next day I received two voicemails - one from a HomeLight consultant and one from match #1. I returned the consultant's call and spoke to a support agent who further explained the HomeLight process and advised that I return the realtor's call. So far so good. I returned match #1's call and chatted a bit. I waited to hear from match #2 & #3. In the meantime, I did my own research and interviewed other realtors. The next day, I get a call from a second realtor whose name I didn't recognize from the matches and thought he was from the same brokerage as match #1 because the names sounded very similar. I let him know I was already in touch with his teammate and he wished me luck, without informing me match #1 was not in fact his teammate. While this was going on, I received at least 5 emails from HomeLight, including 2 from two different HomeLight consultants following up about matches. I also received listing alerts for an area I'm not interested in purchasing a home in, which was annoying but not a deal-breaker. HomeLight sent out two links, one for homescout and one for the dashboard. It was not clear who my matches were or the actual people who would be reaching out. The Dashboard also identified me as real estate agent, which I thought was odd. I declined match #1's service as I found another candidate I was considering. Since I thought match #2 & #3 were still MIA, I decided to call HomeLight support to clarify the email blasts, the multiple HomeLight consultants assigned to me, and determine if match #2 & #3 were going to reach out so I could make my final informed decision on a realtor. The HomeLight support agent was not helpful and spoke to me in a condescending tone. He stated that I had already declined all my matches and there were no further matches HomeLight could recommend. We went back and forth a bit until he finally clarified that the second realtor I spoke to was actually supposed to be match #2. His brokerage and match #1's brokerage were different by 1 letter! After all this confusion and the support rep's attitude, I decided HomeLight is not for me. I was getting spammed with emails that were not relevant, the dashboard was telling me I was a realtor, and the support agent made me feel like the call was an inconvenience. Welp, deuces! I'll take my chances with a realtor I find on my own.

Fantastic experience: Where I found the HomeLight web site helpful was in identifying Bill Thompson as a potential realtor. Bill was one of three agents suggested for the area where my Mom's home was located. From the available data on the HomeLight web site about home sales for the respective agents and conversations with Bill, I quickly determined that he was the one to choose. My evaluation was 100% correct. I could have not asked for a more knowledgeable and professional agent than Bill. He quickly evaluated the market, had the home listed within one day after signing the listing agreement, and had multiple offers beginning the first day of the listing. Due to market conditions and Bill's efforts we were able to obtain a final offer substantially more than the listed price for the home. The seller's choice of lenders did create extra efforts for Bill but he kept us informed of everything during that time and did an excellent job of coordinating and finding resources for items that we needed to accomplish as sellers of the home. I would highly recommend Bill for any real estate transaction being contemplated in his geographic area. Thanks again for the service that your company offered that allowed me to find Bill Thompson as an agent. It was worth thousands of dollars to my Mother in the sale of her home.

She was the ONLY recommended agent in North Central West Virginia. You should choose Heather if you are seeking a low stress, high return real estate transaction.

Negative experience: I wish I had never used HomeLight. HomeLight states it’s free, but in my case they are getting 25% of the selling agents commission. They really have done nothing to earn that. You’re better off looking at google reviews, then looking at the agents website for those you’re interested in and negotiating commissions with the agent. Here’s a few details of my experience. I stated I was looking at selling in 1-3 months, yet I started getting lots of calls the same day with no filtering on their side. Also, there were a couple of agents I knew personally that received a referral from HomeLight, now they're on the hook for 25% of their commissions if I use them. I have now missed an opportunity to negotiate directly with these agents on commissions. I really don't know what value Homelight provides other than blasting out my contact information out to a bunch of realtors and locking in a piece of their potential commission. Never again!!!

Fantastic experience: HomeLight got us in touch with three agents immediately after I put our request in. I had agents email and call me to discuss what my needs were and to tell me how they could best service me within minutes of submitting my request. We ended up going with Delinda Crampton of Berkshire Hathaway, and she made an appointment to meet us at our house in person promptly as soon as we could, and then discussed her marketing strategy and her success rates with past clients. She came very prepared with a beautiful, professional book showing her team's research into our area and the most recently sold comps as well as houses around us close to our size and condition which were currently for sale to help guide us to list competitively as we wanted to sell fast, but also get a fair amount for the house. All in all, the service was great, and she was in touch with us often to give us updates on offers and other ways she was getting our house exposure. We put the house on the market quickly, just a few days after she had a professional photographer come to take photos of the house to make it show its best online. We closed the sale within two months of listing it! Overall, a great experience, and would recommend going through HomeLight agents again.

Positive experience: I found HomeLight on social media and was immediately drawn to the idea that an algorithm would help me wade through countless recommendations of agents through word of mouth. The website itself was very clean and straight forward. The questions that they ask makes it easy to view the top agents for the specific area I wanted. At the time of me start to seriously search for a home, I was researching different websites and was having a little bit difficult of a time finding a realtor I could trust to help me find a particular house in the particular area I was looking to buy a house. I discovered HomeLight, and I was very pleased to find that they simply asked me some basic questions about the kind of house I was looking to buy, including a general location, and used my answers to match me with a realtor or two who seemed to best suit me get the house I want. It was a relatively easy process, and I do not think I could have been more pleased with the way HomeLight did/does it. One of the realtors who appeared as a match ended up becoming my realtor for buying the house I bought.
