Experiencia negativa: I have moved to a so expansive and fancy home, when I visit is a finished basement and everything, when I move the house is completely dirty, carpet at the basement is removed, not finished no more, a lot of paint damaged in the walls, faucets loses, sick loses, basically, my move in is yesterday and I’m on some hotel with my family cause can’t move to the property, I’m a HUMAN not ANIMAL to be on that condition. And when move out will ask for everything clean and this things, today will have some cleaning company for do a deep cleaning and flooring company for check how much for finish the basement, who will pay for it? See you guys at the court house. Obs.: photos and videos is for issues find on move in and the Main Street refuse to repair or reimbursement for i repair by myself

Experiencia negativa: When I moved in I thought highly of main street renewal. That has changed very fast. This company is the problem with America. Corporations have purchased all of the middle class homes. They install the cheapest vanity’s, floors and then charge you an insane amount for rent. There is no urgency when you make a maintenance request. They just don’t care. Thank god my lease is up soon! Good riddance.

Experiencia negativa: MOLD UNDER CARPET AND WALL (mold inspection report was not release to us once complete due to policy what a joke) Since December, we have been dealing with ongoing and worsening mold issues in this property, and management has completely failed to resolve it. The mold has progressed to the point where it is now ruining our personal belongings and clothing, which is unacceptable. After months of inaction, we were forced to contact the city ourselves. When the city inspection finally took place, inspectors found multiple violations, including serious issues beyond the mold. One of the most alarming findings was an emergency furnace issue, especially concerning since during winter the downstairs temperature was recorded at 55 degrees, while the AC was reading 70+ degrees inside, creating unsafe and unlivable conditions. Despite multiple vendors being sent out, nothing has actually been fixed. Vendors come and go, cases are constantly “escalated,” but there is no real remediation. The mold continues to get worse, and the living conditions remain unacceptable. We have also experienced extremely concerning administrative behavior: comments have been deleted from our cases, and case names have been changed, making it difficult to track what has actually been reported and documented. Management has shown no urgency, no accountability, and no willingness to work with us, including refusing an early lease termination, even with clear health and safety concerns and city involvement. At this point, we are looking into court escrow because the issues have not been addressed and continue to escalate. No tenant should have to live like this or fight this hard just to have basic habitability standards met. Based on our experience, we strongly caution others. We were even told that mainstreet is well known for having mold in their house (one of their vendors by the way) Keep in mind not a single payment has been made late and we have kids in the room and there is mold all over the wall and under the carpet. MOLD HAS GOTTEN WOST THAN THOSE PICTURES BY THE WAY!

Experiencia negativa: I have been living with this company since November of 2024. At first I was so excited to move in to a nice home in a nice neighborhood etc. However, do not fall for it. They have issues with HOA fines being “charged” come to find out majority were not actually charged by the HOA and what was charged they returned after I finally got in contact with the HOA directly and the company only gave back some of the funds I paid in to them. MAINTENANCE IS A JOKE. I have had FAMILIES show up. Yes parents with KIDS come to my house and their kids didn’t speak English (I understand that and that’s not the issue) the issue this that they came into my home. Shoes on my furniture making themselves at home and playing video games on my couch while their parents “worked”. No way for me to tell the to stop, or not to do that because they simply don’t understand me so they just do as they please. Issues took months to fix. I had a mold issue. This took MONTHS: multiple vendors coming out. Requests being placed “resolved” and having to reenter the issue over and over. So many electrical issues. Some lights you have to hit the wall to get them to actually turn on. Even external doors have issues and they send vendors out (sometimes) then clear the issue without resolving it. My dishwasher has been put it MANY TIMES. I’ve been told that it was getting replaced by vendors, that it should’ve been delivered to the home for them to install, etc. then it being marked “resolved” without ANYTHING actually being fixed. I am happy that my lease is FINALLY going to be ending in the upcoming months. Their lack of care, response, and maintenance is despicable. I highly suggest you look elsewhere. The beautiful home you look at, look closer… it’s not what it seems and the company is by far a fancy “slumlord”

Experiencia negativa: The worst rental company I have ever experienced in my life. Moved into our house on October 30 and you’ll never guess what we found on October 31st. BEDBUGS. We called them the same night to get the process started of pest control it took them an entire week to have someone even come inspect it and of course they could not treat our home the same day so they come back to treat out house and tell us there is no follow up needed and we should be good. Which we have never dealt with bed bugs in our life so we didn’t know any better. But of course we are still finding huge life bed bugs. So at this point we take it into our own hands to find a pest control company that will actually come out fast and treat our stuff the right way. But ultimately coming out of pocket. The entire first week until our home was treated the first time we were staying in a hotel, coming out of pocket. After we continued to find bugs we started staying with a family member because I am currently pregnant and didn’t want to risk being around any chemicals. After two months of “living” here we tried to reach out to see if we could seek any concession for all of the money we have came out of pocket while not even living in the house we were paying for. After multiple attempts, multiple people that have put in work orders for us saying they would help us directly, all the cases have went closed without even contacting you and will say resolved. We have asked to contact managers or just someone in charge and all they will say is they will add you to a call back list with management and no one will ever contact us. You will never talk to the same person twice. So with our final attempt to contact someone we simply want out of our lease and to get out of this house. And still no one has contacted us even we we have said they will not get another dollar out of us.

Experiencia negativa: Main Street Renewal has been one of the most frustrating companies I’ve ever dealt with. I’ve been in an emergency situation and needed to move quickly, and they showed absolutely no urgency, compassion, or basic communication skills. I first applied for a property back in October. When viewing it with my friend (we have both cleaned homes and apartments for years), but we saw bugs in the refrigerator and a used condom in the closet and other issues that should’ve been handled before anyone toured it. Getting in touch with someone about it was almost impossible. I applied for a different house afterward but it had four active applications and I was trying to move fast. You would think with the holidays coming up and people needing to relocate, they’d move with some type of urgency—but they did not care at all. I requested a leasing agent to call me on a Monday… no call. Instead, someone texted me a week later, and by then I was so fed up I told them to cancel everything. It’s been over a month and a couple of weeks of constant back-and-forth and zero real help. They showed no compassion, no readiness to lease a property, and no understanding of how time-sensitive moving can be—especially before December 1st. Honestly, shame on this company. They need better communication, better leasing agents, and people who actually care about their tenants. At this point, even an AI leasing agent would do a better job than the people answering their phones. I would not recommend renting from Main Street Renewal to anyone.

Experiencia negativa: The property we rented had holes in the walls and was not clean when we took possession. Upon move out we were informed that we had to repair all holes, paint the repaired holes, clean the gutters and clean the yard and flower bed of leaves and plants that had went dormant due to November temperatures. The things that we were asked to do were not done prior to moving in. Unfair for us to be charged for these items from our security upon move out when they were not done when we moved in. We took pictures and informed the property management company about this before moving in and nothing. I would say do not rent from this company. We also informed them 60 days before we moved out because our lease ended before month end and the still tried to charge us for the full month after arguing with them for 2 days they finally corrected the rent due for the final month.

This people don’t care about nothing, they are charging me for one of my neighbors address electric bill and i had make a request since July and still going around to make decisions and i had to make two different requests but they keep marking the request as solved or close without saying anything. I will definitely leave the property as soon as my lease expires. They owe me mire than $300 and they dont say anything

Experiencia negativa: Urgent Maintenance requests take 3 business days for someone to come out. A pipe burst and flooded the kitchen on Monday night, Maintenance confirmed they wouldn’t come until Friday. I’m sure mildew and mold will ensue by then ☺️

Experiencia negativa: Terrible customer service, almost none existent. I believe they do their best to ensure that nobody is able to get ahold of them. They are probably amongst the worst property mgt companies ive ever dealt with. For the first 2 months of our lease they had our property still up for rent, giving door codes to random people to tour our rented home. Took over a month for them to take the property offline. They are extremely lazy, and whoever runs this company should be ashamed.

Experiencia negativa: If I could give a negative rating, I would zero seems to be too high of a score. The automated system is absolutely horrendous. I never get to speak to an actual live person. I've had several issues with the home to which I put work orders in, maintenance shows up no tools on hand states I'll be back with my tools then never returns. if I could get out of this today, I would I highly recommend to not rent through Main Street Renewal .

Experiencia negativa: Worst Company Ever to rent from . They Started to put security deposits charges twice for the same month on my account for 3 months straight and you have to pay the full amount and not the amount it’s supposed . Good luck trying to call because their virtual assistant is built not to connect you with anybody. Meanwhile you’re waiting on a resolution you’ll get late fee+ notice to vacate.so if you would have had this on autopay they’d be ripping you off.

Experiencia negativa: The companies line of communication isn't great. I had something come up and I was directed to 3 different locations from 3 different people on how to get something resolved. I was only ever emailed and had 1 text when I requested to be contacted via phone call. They don't have much value in people and more value in just keeping the business afloat.

Experiencia negativa: anyone trying or renting from main street renewal is crazy, they do not have a local representative in ohio, they answer out of texas,, ive talked to a renter that says she had to wait for over a month for garbage pick up, she had to put in a request cause no one to talk to!!, also there’s a dangerous tree on the property and they are not making it a priority to check out after it damaged a garage n shed of neighbor and city knows about it but no one able to get help cause of company in texas, they are a good example of slum lords. Good luck if u try to talk to someone and they will not give u a legit phone # to call

Experiencia negativa: I had a disturbing experience with the maintenance team that made me feel unsafe in my own home. This morning, a maintenance worker came to my apartment and began pounding aggressively on my door. When I opened it, he was immediately hostile and accused me of not being on the lease—completely untrue. I told him I didn’t appreciate his attitude and asked him to leave, but he kept his foot in my door and refused. I asked multiple times for him to step back, and he would not. I started recording for my own safety, and only then did he slightly adjust his behavior—though he continued to stand inside my apartment and pressure me. Another worker was present and tried to downplay the situation, gaslighting me by denying how aggressively they knocked, even though I have it on video. I called management and was placed on hold for an extended period with no resolution or response. This is not how tenants should be treated. I should not have to feel violated, cornered, or coerced into letting someone into my home. I strongly urge others to be cautious when considering this property, and I sincerely hope management re-evaluates the behavior and training of their staff.

Experiencia negativa: Terrible customer service. If you have a serious issue you’ll be transferred to different divisions until you give up. Update: after traveling across country to this new house I was awarded with a power line ripped off the house, grass up to my chest, and an entire house covered in insect bodies. I asked for a different house and have been told to practically kick rocks. DO NOT RENT FROM THESE GUYS. Update: Been in contact with their resolutions department through email (they apparently do not use phones) and nothing has been done besides an inspection. The grass was cut to reveal trash scattered throughout the yard, the gutters are in disrepair, and no real maintenance has been conducted. If you rent, document everything because you will need a lawyer up against these guys. Update: August 2024, still no work has been completed. It’s been 2 months… Update: After a year, one thing was fixed. They took my deposit and that was it. I highly recommend you look at their better business bureau complaints.

Experiencia negativa: I wish Zillow had a comment section so that I could advise everyone NOT to rent with this company. Ive never been more convinced that an entire company is just AI before in my life. My heat went out in the dead of winter, 2024 and they refused to fix it for over 8 days. It was 40 degrees in my house(I have the pictures to prove it but Google isn't letting me upload them right now. The contractor was literally at my house, had the parts to fix it and wasn't allowed because Main Street wouldn't approve the request. When you call to talk to someone, they will send you to different departments until you give up. There is no "manager", there's no one senior, no one has the number to anyone in any sort of management position. It's an absolute joke. The company is going to respond to this review saying we're so sorry this happened to you please give your name number address and we'll be glad to look into itand get back to you after we've reviewed your complaint like that will make any sort of difference. Experiencia negativa: Honestly shocked and upset at how misleading, difficult and just plain fraudulent my first (and last) experience was with this company. Was extremely interested in the property at 1515 Wales Place, Columbus OH. The pictures were fantastic, spacious, pet friendly with a yard, and seemed to be the perfect place! 1. 1600 square feet - False. I am sorry, this is 100% a flat out lie. My current home is about 1300 square feet, and this living space wasn't even half that size. The disappointment I felt walking in expecting to see the gorgeous high ceilings and large, spacious rooms advertised in the photos was tangible. The layout was more consistent and on par with a very small 2 bedroom 1 bath apartment, not a 3 bed 2 bath "house." 2. There is NO yard. Not even a little. The sliding door from the kitchen leads to the side of the house, 2 concrete slabs and the neighbors yard about 5 feet from said door. There is no backyard. There is no fence. There is nowhere for "gardening, picnicking, pets, etc." There is NO YARD, let alone a fenced-in one. 3. Unclean - The first words out of my boyfriends mouth upon setting foot inside were "This smells horrible." It was obvious that the previous tenants had pets, and from the smell in the air I fear they were not very well taken care of and/or deficated in enough places that there was not a single unaffected room. I didn't realize there was an air freshener sitting on the kitchen island until I saw it, because the bad odor overpowered any effect it was supposed to have. While the cleanliness inside was not necessarily what I would call horrible, it was also not in any way acceptable. It had obviously not been attended to in weeks at the very least (judging by the overgrown lawn), or months (judging by the dirt and griminess of the inside). Granted, given it is a "self tour" I am sure multiple people go in an out quite a lot, but nonetheless I would expect someone to maybe show up once or twice a week to make sure it was at least overall clean and had some appeal? 4. The garage - The increased severity of the bad odor that hit me upon entering the garage was yet another grim and unpleasant disappointment, followed by even further disappointment at the state of the area itself. The drywall had too many holes, dents and scuffs to count. The walls were not only unpainted and dirty, but appeared to have many larger darker stains that (putting two and two together with the worse and more potent stench) I highly suspect were pet related. Is that supposed to be something that I am expected to live with, or am I going to be responsible for paying to fix those issues myself? Given the state of the rest of the property and landscaping (or lack of), I at this point could guarantee that Main Street Renewal neither cares about the state of things nor has any intention of fixing the issues, and the repairs will likely fall on whoever moves in next. 5. The company and waste of time/money - Obscene amount of technical difficulties related to their site and the entire application/touring process in general, just one issue or website redirect after another (because ALL of this has to be done online). After a week of receiving about 15 company-generated "your application is pending review" emails, I finally received my one and only contact from an actual human, a text. She requested some additional information on my end, which I provided immediately. She did not give me an ounce of additional information, did not respond to my questions, ultimately left me hanging and disappeared. I otherwise never received a phone call or real email by anyone else related to my application status whatsoever. I was so turned off by this whole experience I will not even bother to inquire about any other properties that are associated with MSR, the way this company conducts itself and advertises is unacceptable. Not sure how in good conscience they can blatantly and flat out lie about the size of a home, advertise a yard when there is none, or even allow it to be even viewed or lived in in such a poor state.

Experiencia negativa: I’ve been living in my home for 13 days and I cannot understand why the process to get maintenance done is so drawn out and unprofessional. You have to go to a portal to make request and they say urgent request are taken care of within 3 day and other non urgent requests within 10 and you have to be at your home when maintenance arrives. I have requested off work, called out and left work to have maintenance request completed and they are rescheduled after the fact and they’ve been marked as in progress causing me to lose time and money and still have to go home to issues. When they could enter the home because they have to fulfill another request. I have messaged and call maintenance everyday to resolve my issue and nothing happens they say they can’t do anything and dismiss you. I only have talked to foreigners and they have no management contact information for anyone to be held accountable or reach anyone. This whole process has been frustrating and I don’t even want to unpack because I really want to move knowing that I’ll most likely deal with that for the duration of my lease. I am renting this home and the issues I’ve had should have been taken care of prior to moving in. I let them know my concerns prior to moving in and they made me aware that I’m renting this property as is yet some how they can charge me for things I don’t take care of prior to moving out Which is a SCAM. I have had to pay over $200 dollars completing things that should have been taken care of prior to my moving in and they have no regard for that. The grass was high upon moving in and there is garbage and debris on the curb of my home I had no keys to my home over a week and the only time I have spoken to someone American is of course when I paid the deposit to move in. There has to be a better way to go about things. I have been renting for 15yrs and I have never had this experience and don’t want to live thru it the next 365 days. These issues need to be addressed.

Experiencia negativa: Getting maintenance issues taken care of is TERRIBLE. You have to go through the portal, which is a nightmare to navigate and it took me 21 minutes to get a live person today. This is an improvement when I couldn’t get past the virtual assistant in the past. I have a leaking toilet for a week and a half I’ve been without a dishwasher for two weeks and I took off of work today to have the dishwasher installed and they couldn’t install it because the valve is leaking. The technician they sent out to evaluate the situation is useless. He does the wrong thing and he causes leaks. I didn’t have leaks in my home till he came now I have leaks. I know I need a plumber. The dishwasher installers told me I need a plumber. I can’t get a plumber. They want to give me appointments for the technician to come out again and do more terrible things to my house. I am required to be here whenever the technician comes and they require me to be available all day and I have a job. I took vacation for this dishwasher install that didn’t happen. I will never rent from them again! My advice stay away!!

Experiencia negativa: Do not rent from these people. I looked at a house at 2966 Representation Ter, Columbus, OH 43207. The house was disgusting! Carpet smelled like dog and urine, there’s mold behind the brand new dishwasher, looks like they fixed the tile with new tile but different color and there’s about a half inch gap on the front door letting in sun light and a draft. After reading the reviews, I’m so glad I didn’t go through with this place. They sound just like the leasing company called Stratagem Management. Don’t rent from them either!

Experiencia negativa: If I could I would rate them a one but in the dead of winter my heat if off had a maintenance request for over a month. Still haven't fixed it nor contacted me back. My pipes busted this morning. And my house been flooding for 3 hours. Oh and the maintenance man still hasn't came I guess there is no one in the area. Make sure you properly inspect your home before moving here. The bad reviews are very much true. Signed a 7 month tenant. Update: still now water nor heat on the coldest day of they year. Also the problem has been escalated I have contacted msr over 15 times in the past week. It it obvious y'all do not care nor that this problem will be handled. Im escalating to cmha now.

I appreciate his attention to detail, how he explains what is wrong and not only fixes it but does it with a stellar attitude. He’s a top-tier asset that needs to be recognized. He fixes things the first time and never has to come back a second, other employees could learn a thing or two from him. Best maintenance service I’ve ever encountered hands down, most reliable asset for sure.

Experiencia negativa: I didn’t make it past the review process. The auto system denied the application instantly I’m assuming due to my credit. When I called the company to see what their credit requirements were , the rep informed me they had no minimum requirements and it is based on other factors such as bankruptcies , prior evictions, etc. all of which I have had none of, so I requested to know the exact reason I was denied so that I could be better prepared and all the rep could tell me was that I need to take the matter up with Transunion and to reapply in 30 days. Why would I reapply if I don’t understand why I was denied? To give them another 50 dollars out of my pocket I’m assuming. Would not waste your time with this group.

Experiencia negativa: I have been renting with MSR for 3 years now. There is no “customer support”- they put you on with someone who “writes a ticket” and you never hear back. MSR is only interested in your money. I genuinely do not trust these people and even the thought of them having the code to my home scares me. Here are some of the issues I’ve encountered- 1) in the home I previously rented with MSR, I spent tons on money ensuring it was in tip top shape when I left. I painted and patched everything, scrubbed every crevice with a tooth brush, etc., because MSR told me I would be charged for everything that’s not done. When I moved into my current home- the condition was horrible AND MSR found the most bizarre and untruthful things to not give me my security deposit back. I filmed the whole walk through prior to move out and the man stated he’d never seen a house in better shape yet $400 wasn’t returned. When I told them I had their walkthrough guy on film stating the home was in tip top shape- they gave me my money back. If I hadn’t covered my a** I would’ve been out of luck. 2) MSR charges the water bill through their company and I have asked MANY times over the last 3 years to get a breakdown on how they are charging me because they are billing me for outrageous prices for a small house with 2 people and nobody ever responds- they just close the request. 3) the home that I currently live in- the downstairs walk in shower stopped draining 3 days after I moved into and they have not fixed it- that was 8 months ago. The did however send a contractor out to look at it and the contractor stated that the home was not properly inspected because the drain is not up to code, telling me that the only thing left to do is to tear up the flooring and widen the drain. Once MSR heard of this, they closed the case and marked it completed. I now am paying for a 2 shower home and only one is functional and they are refusing to lower my rent since they won’t fix it. 4) Along with the shower not draining, multiple times now the septic will over flow into the shower. Again it is a walk in shower so everything just flows right out into the floor- feces and all. 5) I see other reviews about bug infestation upon move in and that is very accurate. I had ants EVERYWHERE and when I tried to get help with it they told me that that is “resident responsibility” This company is honestly so sketchy and will do anything for your money. When I was doing the walkthrough for my previous home, the man who worked for MSR had absolutely nothing good to say about them and basically warned me to stay alert. They respond and tell you to “put in a case request” but then never actually address and complete the requests. To MSR- instead of leaving a comment with an email telling me to “email us if there is anything we can do”- please fix the things listed above. I am tired of emailing you guys and never getting a response back.

Experiencia positiva: The technicians were awesome. I regret not having someone come out and give me a walk through when moving in; even though I sent an email mentioning that there were issues. I sent my request to move out on 6/14/24, with a confirmation from you ( Mainstreet Renewal, MSR) on that day. The rent was prorated for 15 days I was told by the reps I spoke to. They, MSR, withdrew a whole month’s rent instead of what I owed, resulting in an overdraft. They are Not straightforward and transparent as they should, and I will Not recommend them, MSR to anyone.

Experiencia negativa: I had a terrible experience with Main Street Renewal. When I first moved in, I faced 10 days without water, which was incredibly frustrating. I had to beg and plead and ultimately threatened to back out of my lease before any one local would help me. Over the course of the year, I had to deal with only one functioning shower in a supposed two-bathroom home—unacceptable. We also constantly battled squirrels in the garage, a rotting deck, and massive branches falling from the clearly dying tree in the front yard. When I moved out, I was hit with ridiculous charges: they claimed I owed for construction materials left in the garage by their maintenance team, for patching holes they made while fixing the shower, and even for a furnace filter, despite having replaced it just before returning the keys (on top of painting and cleaning charges when I left the place spotless with so many pictures to prove it). The final walk-through was a complete joke. I was only able to speak with representatives in Sri Lanka who had no knowledge of Main Street’s policies and couldn’t assist me. I wouldn’t recommend this company to anyone. Avoid any Main Street properties at all costs! UPDATED: the fact that they also reply to reviews here is absolutely ridiculous. I moved out well over a year ago. Why would I still have an open claim, Kristhel?? Dealing with you people while I was a resident was exhausting enough. I’m not going to continue fighting through your shenanigans. Insert eye roll here.

Experiencia negativa: The Columbus Ohio agency is poorly ran. Nobody is ever at the office. They don't answer phone calls or emails. They won't clean your property prior to move in. It's left in the same condition as the previous renters left it. They will take your money and never talk to you again. You have to get to higher up people who over see the state, region or higher to get anything done. By that time it's too late. If you would like to live in a health hazard home, not have any communication from the local office and be overcharged then unable to get your money back. Then the Columbus branch is just for you! I seen someone else do this, as will I. The fact they have an automated response to help the Google reviews. Yet they can't answer or phone or email.

Experiencia negativa: Please do not use this company. They use a screening technique that will not matter if you have documentation proving your income. The screening process doesnt allow for you to upload check stubs, reference letters from landlords. $50 application fee for an AI screening. Then Sandra stated that once the letter is recieved on why the non approval then the applicant can dispute using documentation. Honestly, its a huge waste of time for the applicants. Just stick to properties than actually look at a full application rather than factors.

Experiencia fantástica: The only problem I have is with EAGLE PRO. They came fix my bathroom but destroyed it. They took down the nice till that was in there and put up plastic shower panel. The only problem was some of the tile was lifting in could have been fixed. Now the bathroom is horrible..we want out tile pur back in ☹️. EAGLE PRO DESTROYED OUR BATHROOM. I am a good renter and have made this homelike my own and now the bathroom destroyed by EAGLE PRO.Please mainstreet can we have our tile back in ouR bathroom.We love this house just want the bathroom back like it was. Experiencia negativa: I will never rent with them again. They neglected to fix appliances that were broken before we moved in, one of which was the fridge which had exposed wires that started burning our food INSIDE the fridge. It took at least a month to get replacement appliances. A month without a dishwasher is annoying, but a month without a fridge is unacceptable. Later, maintenance found a leak in our furnace from some repair they did when they accidentally punched a hole in it and it had been leaking carbon monoxide into our house for months. Many more examples including showing up without notice, or not showing up when they said they would, after we took work off to accommodate them. But our moving out experience was awful. We cleaned every inch of that house, per the contract. Yet they still tried to charge us for cleaning. When we provided proof of how clean it was on our move out day, and our receipt from the carpet cleaning, they removed the charge. They also tried to charge us for damages that were present when we moved in, including bubbling paint on the front door (how is that our fault?). After months of fighting with them they removed these unreasonable charges. Don’t rent with Main Street. ETA I see them leaving comments on negative reviews asking how they can make it better. No one cared to help us when we lived there, but now that they see negative reviews they want to “help”.

Experiencia negativa: I don’t have the proper words to describe how awful of an experience renting with Main Street renewal was. I would love nothing more than to make sure no one else has to deal with them. If you are considering renting please RUN. I’ve never left a negative google review anywhere but I would be doing everyone a disservice if I did not warn people of the incompetent “company” that is Main Street renewal. A few issues I had while renting there: they withdrew my security deposit TWICE and took a month (and hours of me on the phone with costumer service) to reimburse, our dishwasher was broken upon move on and they took OVER FOUR MONTHS TO FIX IT, our refrigerator almost caught fire due to faulty wiring (the food in the refrigerator was burnt, melted cheese etc) and they missed multiple maintenance appointments, showed up at different times than they said they would and FINALLY got us a new, smaller refrigerator after TWENTYFOUR days. I’m addition to that they did not inspect the house properly so we had a carbon monoxide leak. The hvac system was also so filthy (littered with dog hair and cigarettes even though no current residence smoked or had any animals) that I got multiple respiratory infections, ear infections etc. On top of that they attempted to withhold most of our security deposit on false claims of broken or damaged property which they later ADMITTED was false after I provided evidence they they were lying. This is not a company, they are scam artists and should be shut down. Please do not rent with them. They will lie cheat and steal to screw you over. Pictured below is our “reimbursement” of security deposit after several false charges were made. This company is so horrible they should pay YOU to be a resident.

Experiencia negativa: Not a great company, horrible customer service, and they let their crews paint over dirt rather than cleaning anything. My place was filthy when I first moved in and they refused to come fix the AC when it was over 90 outside and took over a month to set up trash after the situation was explained to them. Would not recommend using them. P.S. the team doesn’t care they just don’t like the bad reviews but won’t do anything to fix the actual problems that they created.

Casey had great customer service, excellent communication skills, was respectful, pleasant, great attitude, was very informative, took time to explain work that was being done, was careful with our belongings as he completed the work, cleaned up after he was done. So I'm like okay maybe I took too long putting it in and Put in another application. Later I looked in my account and I was charged two times for two applications for the same property.I emailed them they told me to call and talk to application team. When I spoke to them They said they can not refund my money because I put two applications in and they don't refund application fees. I explained to representative what happened and she said because you put two applications in two fees was taken out and they not gonna refund it! WHO PUTS TWO APPLICATIONS IN WITHIN MINS FOR THE SAME PROPERTY ON PURPOSE?? they are horrible!!!Just taking people's hard earned money!!

Experiencia negativa: Submitted a maintenance request last Thursday (over a week ago) because my AC wasn't working and it was over 90 degrees. since then they have been 'negotiating' with a repair company for a replacement unit while myself and my dogs suffer in the heat so that they can save some money on the repairs. They refuse to give an ETA on when repairs will be available and despite me reaching out frequently and them stating they are 'sending a request to the specialist', i've heard no updates and seen no progress.

This should be highly illegal for this even to be a thing’! How dare you expect people to pay to view a starter home you took from us as a corporation now renting it for over the price! You don’t want us to view the homes so it comes as is as it is seen on the BBB website with your 1 star! Then they tell you that you can reach out to a realtor to view it . Pathetic non the less. Experiencia negativa: Update: I have finished my lease and moved out. This company was impossible to communicate with. They are greedy, they do not provide bills when they charge you for utilities and rent, you will find random unexplained charges to your account, they WILL charge you for lightbulbs if the move out crew cannot test your lights when you move out if you don’t leave your electric on for them, they left us without AC for 3 months in the middle of summer, we moved in without it working. They will not let you terminate early. I’d give 0 stars if I could. Home did not have working AC when we moved in this April. Today is June 20, here are all the details of contact with Mainstreet about the issue. Friday 05/12 submitted request. Monday 05/15- maintenance looked at it, told me this was a known issue that was supposed to be resolved prior to move in, said contractors told them it was fixed but maintenance said they didn’t do anything to fix it. - maintenance guy called head guy to tell him this was needed resolved quickly and submitted videos and photos of issue I hear nothing Thursday 05/18- called leasing office to find out when maintenance is coming to fix it. They said the main fence guy raised the ticket but for some reason the construction and contractor guy wasn’t connected to the case so the agent connected the dots. Monday 5/22- submitted new ticket on portal with detail about all updates Tuesday 5/23- Joe called leasing office, they told him they will get to it when they can. Wednesday 05/24- Myra and I talked over phone. There was no existing maintenance ticket besides the one that was opened and closed on 05/15, despite the history above. She said a ticket and work order needed to be opened with a vendor. She opened a work order requesting a vendor. When a vendor is assigned, we will receive an email. I expressed my dissatisfaction with not having a move-in ready home and requested credit towards our rent. Myra informed me we will be able to submit a work order credit request when the work order is closed and that we will detail the history of the HVAC not working. Tuesday 05/30- my ticket from 05/22 has still never been changed to an in progress status but the request made over the phone on 05/24 has. I am suffering a great deal and not getting sleep due to allergies due to AC unit in window drawing in pollen, which is extremely high. Contacted customer service and detailed all of the above. A representative told us a technician was assigned and sent a detailed email to the technician requesting quick action. Noted to tech that they can come any time any day starting immediately. IT HAS NOT BEEN FIXED!!!!!!

Experiencia negativa: please avoid this company. first of all i applied over a month before someone even reached out to me. a woman reached out and told me i was approved, that she would call me later that day with instructions on how to put deposit down. i met all requirements but was having issues with their verification and the woman who called said that she would do everything manually, which is cool bc she already looked at bank statements to support this. i was so excited and then we never got a call. finally a week later after calling, emailing, and texting their AWFUL customer service. i was told my application was canceled. apparently my bank verification didn’t go through and no one called me to even resubmit it. i turned in my 30 day notice at my current place bc they said i was approved, why would i question that? when i asked if i could resubmit it again they customer service rep “rose” said “we will not be reopening your application” and that was the end of the conversation on their end. i feel like i was scammed because i know i met all requirements and the leasing agent said we did. this place is awful with communication and i can’t imagine how they would be if i needed help with the rental. please do not use this company even if your desperate like me and looked past all the rental red flags.

Experiencia negativa: Company recently purchased a home in my neighborhood and it has gone to complete disrepair. They’ve had a “For Rent” sign up for months, but they’ve not mowed the grass or maintained the property and it’s become an eyesore and breeding ground for ticks and mosquitoes. A “Fraud Alert” sticker has been attached to the front door for weeks and the company seems completely unaware/uninterested in addressing the declining condition of the property. Calling the number on the “For Lease” sign during normal business hours required over 20 minutes on hold and I eventually gave up after accepting it was unlikely anyone would answer.

Experiencia negativa: Worst company ever to deal with, they don’t ever call you back, takes forever to get anything fixed. Area manager never reaches back to you 2 weeks later when they were supposed to contact you the next day. This company is a joke and I wouldn’t Recommend to anyone who actually wants to talk to anyone on the phone or get answers. They don’t care about there rental neighbors or anyone. Complete trash of a company. Don’t worry there automated system will reply and make it look like a great company…..this place is awful and they have my name and number on file. I hope this is a lesson to you all that you will get someone behind a keyboard and never get actual help from this company

Experiencia negativa: Do not rent with these people they will do anything to try and take your security deposit! This whole company is a joke. I had to threaten to put my rent in escrow to get them to fix a leak under my kitchen floor after going back and forth with management for almost a month! Almost all of the windows did not lock or were not installed properly either. If you do decide to take the risk, make sure you take pictures of EVERYTHING before you move in and after you move out…don’t trust anything management says and get everything in writing! Don’t even bother responding to this with your half hearted automated response.

Experiencia negativa: Eagle Pro and Sam were excellent at repairs and move out. They have always done their due diligence work. The management side of placing work orders and getting them to follow through is a whole different story. Sewer backup took months to repair to only have another work order within the last month. No one should have to live where sewer backs up and you take care of the rental home but no one will permanently fix the problem. They could have kept a great tenant if management would have fixed the sewer and not just bandaid the fix. From working in this industry the management side is awful. No one answers the phone and can get you answers in a 24 hour window.

Experiencia negativa: Our experience with Main Street Renewal Columbus has been bad. From poor communication with the team to the house we're renting being extremely dirty when we first moved-in. Our lease agent LaTonya was not very helpful. We moved across states and after 15h of driving had to worry about cleaning. The main bathroom's shower head was not working properly and my husband had to fix it. The ceiling in the living room is full of poorly done patch work. The trash cans still had trash from previous tenants. NO ONE from their team checked on this house after the previous tenants left. We try calling with questions and concerns and no one ever answers and when we ask for a call back it's never returned.

Experiencia negativa: After submitting an application to rent one of their sub-par looking homes with a job offer letter including my income along with my partner's student loan paybacks, as she is now a full time student, they waited a full week before an international call center reached out to us requesting we resubmit everything. After another week we were contacted by a woman claiming we did not have sufficient income as a job offer letter and several thousands in student loan repayments did not count,nor did unemployment, or cosigners. When we explained that our house was on the market and even if sold for just what we bought it for, would net us over 40k they continued to explain how that was irrelevant until it was in our bank account even though a bank statement is also insifficient as a form of income qualification. This place just gave off a ramshackle vibe and after reading other reviews here it seems as though we have dodged a massive bullet. Several complaints of broken appliances and filthy units never getting tended to despite work orders being placed. As someone who has rented and owned I could not imagine having to deal with this company any more than I already have. I urge anyone looking for accommodations to avoid this company at all costs as it would appear that they are a nightmare to deal with from start to finish. it sounds to me like anyone having current issues with them should be reaching out to the better business bureau. Msrenewel if you see this DO NOT post one of your pathetic canned responses asking me to send a message to your ironically named email address unless you want several spam emails asking you for ludicrous amounts of benign information.

Experiencia fantástica: We were having trouble with our oven not heating up, and Casey was assigned to come and work on it for us. The first time he came out, he was able to identify the problem, and order the parts he needed to fix it. There was a bit of a delay on servicing the oven after the parts were ordered, but Casey communicated clearly with us, so no big deal! When he came out to fix the oven once the parts were delivered, he did so quickly and effectively. It is now in perfect working order. On top of this, he was extremely friendly and professional.
