Negative experience: On behalf of a Deployed HERO vs hard-hearted incompetent posers: Aloha to all. I would like for everyone to hear what happened to an active duty military single man in my neighborhood. I live in the condo’s behind ice palace. Our community is Alii Plantation. We have a board of directors, an association management, Associa Hawaii. We also have a subcontractor hired by Associa Hawaii that hired a man to be our Site Manager. His name is Sean. Last week, an asphalt company came in to replace our parking lot. All that live here received a 5 day notice to move our cars or have them towed. The single military man that lives here has a car and a Harley. He is deployed and may not be back for another 5 months. He didn’t receive the notice to move his vehicles out of his stalls because he is deployed. Our Site Manager, Sean could have had the car and Harley put in the visitors parking for 2 days and then move it back. When the owner comes back from deployment he would have had his vehicles right where he left them. Unfortunately that didn’t happen. Sean the so called Site Manager had his car towed by a tow company. If the soldier doesn’t claim his car within the next 30 days, the tow company will get a title to the car and they will sell it. The soldier now will not have a car when he gets home. I went to the site manager and explained this to him. Sean didn’t care and had the car towed. I took the Harley to my house and stopped them from towing it or he would have lost that. Associa Hawaii doesn’t care about anyone other than themselves. When the soldier comes back from deployment I will explain what happened and hopefully he will sue them for the cost of the car. I will get Seans last name and post it soon. In the meantime, the representatives of Associa Hawaii are Reiko Marino and Kim Becker. Remember these names if you live in a HOA and have Associa Hawaii managing your HOA. PLEASE LET ASSOCIA HAWAII, KIM BECKER AND REIKO MARINO KNOW THAT THIS WAS WRONG. I will post their websites and emails tomorrow. Sean and his company should be fired and held responsible for this mans car. Sean did call the police on me for taking the mans Harley but the HPD knew there was nothing they could do to me because I saved an American soldiers Harley while Associa Hawaii and Sean had his car taken away.

She was an angel assisting me to clear up and stop the monthly maintenance fees "OVERPAYMENT" situation that I only discovered when I visited the TownSquare to review my online account. She patiently reviewed my account and made sense of my dilemma and confusion. Advised me to contact my bank and to contact ATG online pay to cancel the double payment being made on top of my Direct Debit. I can actually see a $3000+ credit coming back to me for the 3 months of overpayment! woohoo!

Negative experience: I’ve been communicating with this company for several years regarding issues in my building. There have been various frustrating matters including mismanagement of several construction projects which caused the duration to triple and the costs also skyrocketed. HOA fees have gone up drastically and the services/building maintenance is severely lacking. I’ve encountered no empathy working with them and always find myself being redirected to bother someone else with the problems. They seem happy to get paid but not interested to help with getting the action done. Basic things like enforcing house rules are simply avoided and when enforced, it’s discriminatory. I’ve personally been told I’d be fined for doing things that other residents are getting away with for years. Unfortunately companies like this make nice buildings hard to live in. Many owners now want to sell due to the high hoa fees and limited value in return. Many times I’ve had to send more than 5 reminder emails just to get a reply. I’m sure they find me bothersome but it’s really not that hard to give someone straight answers and direct them to the correct contact rather than just wasting so much time with basic communication. They probably like everyone to mention how great Deedee is but I’ve never been in touch with them. Must be someone that does the glad handing and asks for positive reviews…all too familiar with dodgy businesses fluffing their reviews. Steer clear no aloha here.

Negative experience: Completely unresponsive to owners inquiries regarding overcharges in relation to HOA fees. We have been waiting six months for a refund on overcharges with no replies to emails or phone calls… only vague promises to “wait until next month” to see if it’s magically taken care of. Fantastic experience: Called Associa Hawaii on 4/11/25 regarding an issue I discovered. I was connected to someone and discovered as issue with my mailing address and a change in the payment system. When I informed her that direct deposit could be done she promptly returned an email. I am happy that we met through our email. Good luck Dee Dee!

Fantastic experience: Deedee did a great job helping me. She gave me great instructions to follow. Sometimes it is difficult to get proper information from the Associa Hawaii website.

Negative experience: They do not answer questions and charge late fees and interest on top of late fees when you pay within the grace period or even if on time. The latest statement that came to me was on the 27th of Jan and the due date on Feb 1st. I sent messages via their portal (TownSquare) and no one has responded to my messages in the last 6 months. I emailed their team and all they did was send me a statement with the late fee but no actual resolution.

Fantastic experience: I called and spoke to Adel Hamamoto, informed her that I haven't received my 2025 Budget Packet, told her it's possible my mail got delivered to a wrong box because it happened before. Negative experience: Alexis Shea is the worst HOA manager, never respond to our phone calls, emails or text about our concerns on our property.. how do we even get a hold of hoa? you guys have to do something about this. What are we even paying her for?

Negative experience: For TWO YEARS, roots have been growing in the main sewer line connected to all the units in our building at Crosspointe. Since my unit is on the corner and closest to the main sewer, the blockage caused by these roots results in my toilets clogging every single month. To make matters worse, the main sewer line cap is on my patio, so whenever there’s a clog, the cap pops off, and sewage waste spills all over(which is a HUGE health and safety hazard!!). And guess who needs to clean it up? I do. Each time this happens, a plumber has to be called to snake the line, costing hundreds of dollars. The most recent visit from the plumber which was 12/9/2024 for the same issue was over $700 and our site manager Sam said that they cant refund us because the plumber did not put down "roots" . About 15 plumbers (no joke) have been called to our apartment in the past TWO YEARS and all of them said this needs to be done by your association. I live with two elderly people, which makes this situation even more challenging and unacceptable. I’ve reported this issue to the HOA and the site manager multiple times, and their response is always the same: they’ll “get someone to come look at it,” but no one ever does. Finally, AFTER TWO YEARS, they have it scheduled for next week. But the bottom line is we shouldn’t have had to wait this long. The delay has made things difficult for families, caused unnecessary expenses, and allowed the roots to grow even bigger. We are so frustrated with them AND to any potential buyers, it may look pretty on the outside, but I promise you it’s not on the inside. Also, to raise HOA fees next year is wild with how poor our management and HOA is wild. Our current site manager Sam has very poor communication skills and no sense of urgency. Im also hearing mishandling of funds is causing the HOA to have no money. Definitely should be looked into.

Fantastic experience: After walking neighborhood i began to notice the same invasive tree - see photos - that was close to my home and was able to have it removed.

Negative experience: I emailed Associa after getting a letter that asked me to complete a form but there was no form. It also asked me to pay my annual fee but there was no statement just a payment envelope. My email has gone unanswered. Not impressed with Associa at all. This type of incompetence has occurred consistently since I moved in 9 years ago.

Fantastic experience: Received help resolving a late fee issue. Deedee helped me and was able to get the Manager to waive my fee. I have had other instances where the Postal Service misrouted or did not send my payments on a timely basis. Easy to understand because they handle thousands of pieces of mail each day, but good to know there is someone out there that understands this and allows for the rare instance that this happens.
