Experiencia negativa: SCAM!!!! Couldn’t even get ahold of them to tour a house. They literally hung up on me each time and you can tell they did. Just kept getting the same automated text and email of where to apply. DONT NOT APPLY TO ANY OF THESE HOUSES YOULL PROBABLY LOSE THE MONEY AND NEVER HEAR FROM THEM.
Experiencia negativa: Applied for a house they said we were the first one to apply and we should get approved and it would only take 7-10 days it took almost a month and then we got denied because they said someone applied first got approved so they lied about us being first and then lead us to believe we would get it.
Experiencia negativa: Evelyn you lazy manager. Shawn you clearly don’t know what you’re doing. Johanna you barely pick up the office phone. I lived in your property for 2 years and upon move out, getting any update for the security deposit return has been crickets. I drive 3 hours to Fresno to talk with someone and upon arrival they finally pick up the phone and inform me that “my deposit has been approved last week”. Oh you mean the 20 times I called to get an update and was met with “you’re calling outside of business hours”. I am still waiting for my security deposit 25 days after my move out date. In CA the law is 21 days then you can sue for 3x the cost. Never rent from here.
Experiencia negativa: I think this place makes money through the fee you must pay in order to see the house itself. If you don't pay, you can't see it. Then all of a sudden, they will say " the owner of the house decided not to rent it anymore" with no refund on the credit check fee. Definitely something fishy here.
Experiencia negativa: The expierence moving in & out of the apartment was the worst experience ever. The communication is bad, when moving in I never once spoke to Evelyn on the phone even after asking if it was possible. The updates were very few and far between, I had to call so many times trying to get information on the status of the move in. The move out is the same, lack of communication. We moved out December 15th, on January 16th I was told I would get the remainder of the deposit back in some days. Today is January 31st and we still don't have the money back. I've had to call on many lunch breaks trying to track someone down for an update. I'm told I'll get a callback and never do. I know if I was late on my rent I'd be charged a late fee so how fair is it that I don't have the deposit back within a timely manner?! I'll never refer anyone to this company. This is the worst, most of the reviews say the same thing on here but I thought they might be wrong.. So disappointing that they were all correct!
Experiencia negativa: We paid 150 to look at house that has black mold everywhere inside the house and windows, improper seals around the garage and windows, and the house's wood was rotten. They told us they aren't going to fix the problem, only clean it. I should have read the reviews beforehand.
Experiencia negativa: So this company is unresponsive at best. My experience, which is similar to the reviews listed here, is an application fee twice for 50 dollars and then told someone else had the house prior. I have attempted to call them multiple times. Left messages. Asked for a call back etc. They have been slow and rude at best. The app fee is simply an income generation model for this company. I fully recommend talking to another company in Fresno despite what these guys are showing is available. I dont see tenants happy either per these reviews here.

They don't have too many house available... this all fraud, the make u apply to get the money from each family member.. We waisted $150 dollars and we never got the home.. the make u wait almost 2 to 3 months ... whe you call to se the status of the application they never answere the phones or the give u excuses like you have to wait from 7 to 10 days... and it takes almost a month to call you back.. don't waste your money this all fraud.. you will never are going to get the house for rent

My husband and myself are current residents! for two weeks now we have been talking to Joanna in regards to being charged water,sewer and trash 4 separate times times. each time she tells us she is going to email her supervisor evelyn to get the account fixed and it has not. now our rent went from 1550 to 1800. we call the office and when we press options to talk to someone it hangs up. we text and hear nothing back. we email and hear nothing back! we have talked to our neighbors and they say that have the same problem and need to keep calling. i should have known from the first time i was supposed to come and see the unit and no one was here or answering the phone that something was up!!! (when my husband called evelyn out on this the day of the lease signing she said well your perspective residents you don't get priority) STAY FAR AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE!

This place is so suspicious and fraudulent, for one they never ran my credit and just took my application fee. I never heard a word back and I continued to call for about 2 weeks after applying. Experiencia negativa: I should have known better being the first red flag was no house viewing until I paid app fee for both my husband and I and was approved. I did get hung up on when asking questions. After a week had passed and paid fees for app I had to call to just find out I was denied days ago. Its giving scammmmmmmmmmmm 10/10 do not recommend!!!!!!!! $100 down the drain with very little explanation

They don't communicate at all.. applications fee is not refundable even though your applications is not even looked or process. I will file a small claim for this company!!
Experiencia negativa: Company is lacking in communication and they charge you a $10 fee for using their own app payment methods. Wish they were more customer friendly. Edit: Moved out and had to wait 2 months for my deposit. I asked several times for an itemized receipt of security deposit. Didnt receive any. No explanation. Dealt with someone named Archie. I had other people applying with me, so all together we spent $150 on just application fees that they never responded too!!!! Read these reviews before applying with them!!! Experiencia negativa: I don't recommend this management property. They lack communication on every level. To go to their office you need an appointment. I called multiple times to make an appointment and the manager was never available. They also deduced from my deposit for "house cleaning" when I spent money to make sure to leave everything clean. Upon asking what they meant for the fee on "house cleaning" they never got back to me. I also emailed them multiple times and didn't receive an explanation. Finally gave up on trying to contact them. For future residents I recommend renting from a property management who has a great communication system to avoid wasting time and money.

Had horrible issues with the electrical in the home we were renting, they would send out "maintenance" who would do band-aid fixes without actually fixing anything and called the job complete. We got a text message one day that the owner was selling the property and if we could be out in 30 days even though our lease wasn't up yet. Then proceeded to post up the property back up for RENT again asking for more money. We were kicked out of our home for Absolutely no reason while they lied that the property was being sold, when it clearly was not. I'm contemplating legal action, apparently this is something they do a lot. Liars and criminals!
Hi Amber, I'm sorry you feel this way. Upon checking your account I see your 2 work orders were resolved in a timely manner and I don't have any follow up texts from you. Regarding your home being put up for rent. This is incorrect. Our system is set up to automatically post homes as soon as they are close to becoming vacant. We have removed this listing because it is being sold. Also to clarify, we didn't give you 30 days to move, we offered an incentive if you were able to move within 30 days but we would have accommodated as long as you needed. It was simply notifying you of the owners plan as a courtesy. We wish you the best, thank you.
Experiencia negativa: I’ve been a current resident for eight years and finally I get notified via text on April 25th from Aimee and email Aimee letting me know from Aimee that if I can move out in 30 days because the owner is selling the home that I’m living in. I still had a contract with them a year lease my year lease ain’t up to July 31, 2024 then she wants try to see if I pay a rent will be prorated for the 30day. When you call them to get information what’s going on? They are lousy to answer any questions. They are lousy to get back to you. They are useless with communication with you. I will not recommend this property management place to anybody.
Experiencia negativa: They’re overcharging for background checks, all while failing to provide any clarity on applicants’ approval status. Other rental agencies offer the same service for significantly less. It’s seems they’re more interested in profiting off people than ensuring transparency and fairness in the process. Oh, I can’t forget they use AppFolio for background checks. There were lawsuits against them for providing inaccurate information about tenants.

I'm sorry this isn't the outcome you had hoped for. We make sure to note on the application that only approved applicants can tour the home. We also clearly outline our rental requirements including minimum credit. I hope you're able to find the home you're looking for.
Experiencia negativa: If I could give these guys zero stars, I would. I requested an application for two weeks and called the office twice speaking to somebody who didn’t know anything about the property I was inquiring about. Finally one of the girls sent me to an application site where I paid $50. Which is $15 more than most application fees by the way. Not even 16 hours later the property wasn’t listed anymore. When I called back, the agent from CV homes had no idea why it wasn’t on their website anymore. She referred me to a “manager” who emailed me just to say I didn’t meet the criteria. I had told every person that I talk to throughout this company that I would be paying six months advance to rent because I have just sold my home, acquired a ton of equity and was in the middle of buying another home. Sounds pretty qualified to me… I asked for my refund on the application fee since the manager told me they had already chosen an applicant, and that applicant had paid a deposit and had a move-in date. Literally 16 hours earlier they told me it was available and pay to apply. What a joke. I’m going to continue to fight for my $50 back because you’re not gonna tell me to pay for something that isn’t even available. She had the nerve to say good luck with your house hunt at the end of her email. Ridiculous.
I'm sorry to hear you feel this way. We have a very user friendly website which clearly outlines our application fee policy, rental criteria and minimum credit score. I understand you aren't happy with the outcome of your application, I am unable to override this and wish you the best in your home search.

IM afraid so I try to call the office but no one answered the phones. Experiencia negativa: I am not one for writing negative reviews. Generally, I think it's rude and a bit much. However, CV Homes is by far the worst company I've rented from. I've lived in Brooklyn and the Bay and have yet to experience such a predatory renter. Not only were their properties filled with open drug users and illegal activity, something they refused to respond to, but my apartment was cockroach-ridden and dilapidated. They also illegally increased my rent and were completely unapologetic. After my lease was up they increased my rent 30% without any notice. This is illegal in the state of California. After much argument and a certified letter, they were forced to back down and return my rent to normal, only to try the same shenanigans the next month. Upon moving out they charged me for damage to a garage I never even knew was on the property and they had not cleaned before I moved in. They invoiced and sent me to collections on general maintenance almost a year later for things like 'changing lightbulbs' and 'changing locks.' When I tried to speak with them I was completely ignored for months. I left message after message. It took the threat of small claims court to even get a response. And they were of little help. Rent from anyone else but this company. They are predatory and could care less about their tenants. This is my very first negative review on the internet. That should say enough. Edit: These people sent me to collections over a broken lightbulb and other nonsense 2 years after I moved out. Amazing, the worst landlords in Fresno, Ca.
Experiencia negativa: When I had problems living in one of their units it would take forever to be able to find a person to talk to. We were displaced from their home due to electrical issues for 2 weeks and we didn't get that money back for months. We moved out in October and they took our entire deposit due to bushes and trash removal and holes in the yard?? I'm posting pictures of how we left the house. The only thing that had been damaged in the house was some of the blinds because I have small children. We took great care of the property and it makes me sad that we were treated this way. Please avoid and go to another property management if possible.
Experiencia negativa: Bad communication skills. Did a job for them. I did end up getting sick while working so I had went down for about a week. The job took way longer then expected due to lack of communication on there part about needing material's don't get me wrong there was times I was hard to get a hold of. I had a contract with specific things on there like"Subject to change." And to get paid from them was a hassle took about a month when I finally got the check I went to cash it and the check was no good. Then when I had them PayPal they never paid in full.

I do not recommend them!!!! I’ve been a tenant with them for almost 4 years and I hate it but can’t afford to move at this time! So in other words his application was not considered!!?? What a waste of time with these property rental companies!

Experiencia negativa: Cannot get a response from them via email or phone call. Tree on property had branchs come down twice on my car. Called to report and they didnt care. I had to pay someone to come out and cut the tree limbs. They lag on everything.

Experiencia negativa: (Updated) After living here for over a year or so, come to find many things not to my liking with this renting agency. Office and maintenance is indeed hard to get a hold of and when you do its even more difficult to get them to come out to fix issues or address. They more like to leave things up to the renter vs doing their job. Initial start was great but since then run into problems. Like lawn maintenance, its our responsibility but I guess they forgot to mention that they have an ongoing vole issues. So yeah, it is kind of hard to mow dirt.They will not help you in this regard of getting rid of the buggers even though it is their property which I am just borrowing so the yard is dead and a big eye sore. Plus they have bad issue with homeless right in my backyard pretty much since it is by the alley. Of course they will not mention this in history and fluff things in order for you to rent. My suggestion for any rental from here is to not go by pictures since they deceive and to also do thorough inspections to make sure it is up to parr plus get a good history of the place you wanna rent. Unfortunately that was not something I could do at the time since time was limited. It's too bad can't do test runs before moving in to get feel for the house itself and area.I can't wait to leave here as soon as something better comes along. The only 2 + I can say is the lady who helped me originally start the rental of property was nice, prompt, helpful and easy to get a hold of for requests for anything that was needed but sadly she is no longer with the company. Plus they accept pets which is huge plus for me. ((Review prior to my stay here)) Quality of service hands down is the bomb!!!! First of all, this was for an out of state move from Texas to Tulare, CA. I worked with Suzanne over the phone . There was more than one way to get a hold of her such as by text , email as well as on the line. Let me just say, oh my god! lol. Suzanne is a doll and amazing!! She goes above and beyond the call of duty, very nice. It was such a delight speaking with her. Wonderful gal and good humor plus insight. She made this whole process very easy.She took the time to give assurance to make me feel comfortable and gave me options , no matter how much time it took, she verified as well as went out of her way to reach for info needed to company/outside sources to ensure things were in order prior to my move in date.I was going through the motions with the pre-qualify process . Then once approved it was a matter of getting the utilities transferred into my name. I ran into a wall there when the water company stated that I had to come into office in person to fill out app , supply id , and give copy of the lease.The problem was I am located out of state so that made things difficult and I only had a window of 3 days to complete before my desired move in date. Earliest I could come was this Friday and the office closes by 5 pm and there was no option to do via online. There was no way I could get there without paying loads of money for Lyft since I lack a car and didn’t want to dish out expense for a rental car, nor pay high rate there and back to water company. Each avenue I researched wouldn’t guarantee the transfer of my name to bill or ensure it would be completed before move in date either.So I reached out to Suzanne and she came to my rescue with solution. After struggling with that dilemma and trying to fig out what to do, she was nice enough to call for me to verify and see what solution she could come up with to make it easier for me. After she exhausted effort in attempt to find that’s when she approved to delay the transfer for that bill to help me out.She was very patient with me, she did her best working to ease my mind and make my moving in run smoothly. She was very fast and timely with her communications. I highly recommend going to CV Homes for renting.They are excellent and you shall not be disappointed. Suzanne is great and I hope they know what an asset they have to their company.

Experiencia negativa: In June of 2020, I was moving out of a CV property. I was told there was a balance of $194 to pay, even after my $1200 deposit. I was shocked because the house was left in great condition. When I asked of an itemized list of what was being charged from my deposit, I was given a very vague list of charges. I was told in email not to worry about the balance due and that the deposit would be sufficient. I decided not to go after the deposit even though the charges did not justify the amount. Fast forward to 2021, I have been getting various emails about the $194 due. I have spoken to management on the phone have forwarded the emails showing that the balance owed would be eliminated. Every time I was told the balance would be corrected. I received a phone call today telling me the balance has been forwarded to collections. When I called CV homes to see why this was not taken care of, I spoke to superviser Janice who was extremely UNPROFESSIONAL. She was in a rush to get off work and told me she can not do anything about it now that it is in collections. She did not understand that this was a mistake her staff made and that this mistake would now be affecting my credit. She went on to end the phone call because we were “getting no where” She was very unprofessional and very dismissive.

Experiencia negativa: I’ve been living here for a little less than a year and I can’t express how much I hate it. The staff is rude and doesn’t care about their tenants AT ALL. I’ve been harassed by my roommates as THEY violate multiple parts of the lease and any time I ask the landlord for anything she tells me it’s not her problem. When I told her that I’m going to move because my roommates are threatening to hurt me, she wouldn’t even email me back about a different house she had for rent. Don’t move into one of these homes expecting for the landlords to give one sh-t about you.

Experiencia negativa: Paid $120 in application fees for rental homes. Could not get through to the company by phone or email. Phone calls were automatically disconnected without being able to leave a message several times. When phone calls actually went through, we left messages and no response. 3 months later, we finally hear back that the rental units were given to other applicants who put in applications sooner. Wish I had checked their rating with the BBB before being scammed by CV Homes.

I am a current resident of the company for over 4-5 years and I applied for another home just like others for months didn’t hear anything back. Called to see what was going on and lady on the phone was very short and had attitude telling me “ manager is processing applications “ weeks went by didn’t hear anything. Recently got a email stating They chose another applicant before me. Took them months to tell me they weren’t going to chose mine and co applicants application that I’m sure they never processed. That was the only interactions I’ve had with the company in regards to application. I even sent an follow up email that no one responded too. They knew what they were doing and they scam people for money. We have paid them a total of $70 to receive nothing but unprofessionalism. Will NEVER rent from again ❗️
Experiencia negativa: Guess I should have read the reviews before applying but we applied for a home. I applied first and was charged $30 (right away) then a link was emailed so my wife can apply. She then was charged $30 right away as well. Waited for a week and tried to follow up but no response. Home was taken off the their site and other rental sites and we just never heard from them. We called from early morning til late afternoon but will always get put on hold to "no one is available" DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH CV HOMES.
Experiencia negativa: I have been looking at a specific place in Fresno for a very long time. They have three apartments there that I would love to rent. I have emailed them 4 times, called during “business” hours and I get nothing other that an automatic email saying to “apply!” I watch new homes get listed every day. I will not pay for an application without learning restrictions and everything else they require. A simple email back stating what dog breeds are restricted would be all I need to apply, but unfortunately it looks like it’ll never happen. Not sure what happen to this company.
Experiencia negativa: Applied for a property in Stockton, CA on 05/20/2020. Paid $30 app fee and immediately after submitting the app, I received an email requesting to have the other adult in the home submit a separate application and pay the another app fee. REAL FAST TO REQUEST MONEY, but this was done and total $60 paid. I waited 3 weeks, figuring I'd give them extra time due to COVID-19. The property was unlisted a week later and I called to check the status since I never heard from them. The rep advised there's only 1 manager processing the apps and the property is still open. I was the 12th person who applied. A few weeks later the property was re-listed for $200 more. Again, never heard from CV Homes about an increase in rent or a status of the application. I called on 07/15/2020, almost 2 months after applying and paying the fees and rep advised applications are being done today. I called at 4:15pm and told the rep, I doubt that apps will be done in 45 mins (as they close at 5... sometimes even earlier as I've called before 5 and they shut their lines down before then). I've never got an email advising that my credit was checked so I know they never even looked at my application. I requested to get a refund for the $60 that was paid for the 2 adult applications and they said, "it's listed on the website no refunds". I told them I would understand if y'all had provided a service, but it's been 2 months and I've been calling you! Never once have I heard from CV Homes during the whole "application processing" and I know for a fact you didn't process my application. So y'all just going to take people's application fees even when you don't do anything? Can I sign up for this so I can get peoples money for not doing anything? I've called again requesting my money and asked to speak with a manager, of course the manager is not available and I was advised to send an email. Well, I've sent the email last week and again still no response. I still haven't even heard a response saying the property is now off the market and my application was declined. Please tell me how I can start my own business where I am able to get money for doing nothing, I would love to join your industry.

Experiencia negativa: Taking money for applications without allowing a walk through of some property is becoming very popular and not something I'd ever do. this company gave me the same song and dance that everyone on here is complaining about. I will not pay for approval for something I've never seen before regardless of the excuses now. reputable realtors are still providing walk throughs with appropriate safety precautions and/or waivers. I called this company and once again they gave me the same story - apply and we'll see. no thank you. why would they even bother getting back to you if a ton of people apply and only one gets approved? don't bother.
Experiencia negativa: A star is too much. As soon as we asked Amy about properties, she immediately told us to apply. She said the process might take more than a couple of days because of the Covid situation. A week later, she said the time was going to be more like two weeks ?? Now it’s been 3 months and still no update from Amy. I requested to talk to a manager and they don’t have numbers or emails. The excuse now was that the application was still processing. When I asked her why her reason kept changing every time I called, she said the house was ACTUALLY available TODAY. She started Screaming that everyone’s app was pending until today (coincidentally). I kept being polite until I screamed back and she hung up Haha. I just read other comments and I can dare to say they just do this to keep the application fees. All the comments say “applied, paid the fee and never received an answer”. I really doubt this is a lack of training and/or bad customer service people...... They are making money off of application fees!!

Experiencia negativa: Took money from us when we applied for home rentals they listed, never got in touch and were impossible to reach. When I finally tracked someone down, they blamed it on COVID. If you’re posting listings and taking money for them, then you need to be able to field customer support. Pretty shady. I would stay away.
Experiencia negativa: the company has harassed me over three months I have asked them to stop calling me they will not stop calling me they have several different numbers that they call from every time I call back and ask them to stop calling me the lady who picks up says they will but they never do this is a bad way to run a company when your employees do not do what they say and make harassing calls to people who don't want them and keep asking to not be called and put on the do not call list

After another week I called again & e-mailed, no response as of yet. A courtesy call would be nice & professional. I could only imagine how many other people have applied and paid to hear nothing back ...
Experiencia negativa: Avoid if you can, took 3 years to get our air conditioning unit working properly, raises rent over 100$ each year and now recinding services, we have an ant infestation and was told, sucks to be you. "Under new management" but each manager always trying to cut costs and that means they'll cut from YOU.

Experiencia negativa: I applied 3 weeks ago, as soon the property came for lease , made the application together with my wife and had to pay $60, then the property is off the market i called and called and called, finally someone answered the phone, the house was already rented to somebody else, i ask what was the point of paying for the application then if they give the house to somebody else? And that the money was not refundable. Even though the cost to check is $14.95 using experian (the company they use) they still charge $30 dollars per person, in my case $60 so they are robbing people, imagine if 100 people applied for that house they are making extra $15 per application,stay away from this company.
Experiencia negativa: I applied a week ago, paid $60 for my co-signer and I. Never heard back, and now the property is no longer listed. I’ve called three times a day the past week and no answer. Left voicemails, no call back. Sent email, no response. I would’ve at least appreciated a courtesy call to tell me someone else got the property since I paid to apply! Very frustrated!
Experiencia negativa: Horrible customer service. Hung up the phone on me and completely rude. I’d never want to have them as my property management after that encounter. Horrible respect from them. Should be ashamed to talk to possible future clients.
Experiencia negativa: As the heat is constantly rising in the house I have submitted a few maintenance requests however say it’s nothing. They’re not very interested in helping with maintenance of the home and don’t care about tenant satisfaction, but will send you multiple payment reminders.

Any issues we had with moving in she was able to take care of even being farther down south. Highly recommend looking into their properties. Our homes floors were completely redone before move in and every room was repainted plus the house was super clean!

Experiencia fantástica: CV Homes has been great! I worked with Suzanne from the very beginning and she's been wonderful. The application process was easy and surprisingly very quick. They have an online account program that allows you to pay rent online, always have access to info & your lease, and to submit maintenance requests anytime. We've had a few maintenance issues, but they follow up very quickly to resolve for us..for some things we've had to keep following up with them on progress, but I've worked with about 3 separate people from the company and they all were easily available to communicate & got back to us quickly. I'd recommend them to any renters! :)

Experiencia negativa: We had a non recomendable experience with the company. When I call to seek for information for the house I was told that as long as we can approve the income and merat all the additional requirements, we will get approved. We meet all the requirements (credit score, rental history, income) but because we are self employed for les than 2 years, we could not get approved. Which they did not informed us of that detail until after we paid the application fee. Even when I was very clear of our income from the beginning. They showed no interest to work with us at all.

She helped me get into my new place which was very competitive in the market. She reached out to me repeatedly to make sure everything was going ok, and I really appreciate that!! Daisy at the Fresno office helped me get my payments and keys to the home, with no problems at all. Joaquin, went above and beyond the normal maintenance man. He fixed my sprinkler system in the front yard and custom made a mobile pvc sprinkler system for the back yard that I can use with the hose. Experiencia positiva: Here is a review of my initial contact to CV Homes and will try and make it as short as possible. My first call was sent to voicemail and no one returned the call so 2 business days later I had called again and reached Suzanne. Had a few questions before applying for the home and she seems professional. Once application was applied and looked over, I received a message from Suzanne stating she had a few concerns and my partner did not have a Fico score but also stated that we did not meet the income requirements as well. I understood the Fico but was confused regarding the income since we receive approximately $2900 monthly together which is over the 3x the monthly income that was needed for the home ($895 p/month). She then proceeded to recalculate and asked if we were approved would we be able to do a double deposit? Stating the company is really good at returning the full deposits upon moving out with no damage. I replied “yes”. She recalculated our income and did sent it for approval stating we meet the income requirements. Few days later, Suzanne had replied that her supervisor did not approved our application since we did not meet the income requirements. I have excellent credit. We both have no debt and no monthly payments besides rent to our current resident (which would be in place of the home rent), phone bills and car insurance. My conclusion to my experience is that I am not sure of this company. Idk, whether it’s my spouse Fico score that affected our denial or our actual income, as per Supervisor. My big question is if we make over 3x the income required, why are we not approved for income requirements??? Side note: We are new to renting.
