Experiencia negativa: Just had my rent raised on me for the 3rd time in a year . All of D&D properties are old , outdated , and need a ton of work , yet they want to charge you like you’re living in a 5 star hotel . Had multiple run ins with management who at one point even got in and screamed in my face and called the cops on me and had me temporarily trespassed from entering their office for 6 months all because they wanted to fight with me about things wrong with my unit . I luckily found a new apartment very quickly and got everything moved out in a day and a half . I’m so much more happy and would never recommend them to anyone, unless you’re fresh out of high school and looking for your first apartment . Grown men and women should not have to deal and put up with children running the show . You can do so much better even if you’re on a budget . * Response to their reply * : it may not have been three in a year, but it was definitely two for sure. Which is funny because you guys raised my rent to $700 yet when I moved out, you listed it back up for the $650 that I was originally paying so I’m confused as to why my rent went up when you guys could’ve just kept continuing to charge me the $650 and I would have stayed and continued being a loyal respectful tenant who always paid his rent on time and never gave you guys any issues unless you gave me issues. But for some reason, you’d rather get rid of your loyal tenants and exchange them for possible bad tenants who don’t pay their rent on time . We won’t even get into the garage issue that I had or the fact that you guys let people park in the parking lot without a permit sticker, and once asked about those cars that have been sitting for months, I’m told that they do in fact move when I have taken videos and pictures of where the tire meets the concrete and it has not changed in months and then as soon as I bring up the fact that it is in the lease that cars cannot be sitting for more than two weeks It is magically moved, and then I am texted to say that it was a long-term tenant and I got attitude for complaining about it. You guys definitely improved in my second half of my stay there, but to keep upping my rent for absolutely no reason and then to put it back on the market for the original price I was already paying just makes no sense whatsoever. And to no surprise, I didn’t get my security deposit back. They did cover about $150 of “damage” because of long tenancy and past management discrepancies which is appreciated , but also on the other hand , the apartment was left damn near the same as how I received it.
Hi Tyler, this is Brandon with D&D. For starters, I was appalled when the relationship between you and the previous management reached the point it did. That was not handled with professional or grace on their end. To be clear, you did have 3 rental increases in 3 years, not 3x in a year. Experiencia negativa: we feel like our landlords at D&D are now against us and wont stick with there policy of quiet time 10 pm to 7 am every day we are not trying to make enemies and they say its ok for other Tennants to be loud and play music loud late at night when we are trying to wind down after 10 or 11 pm.we feel like no one is on our side we seem to get blamed for alot of things we also feel like if we have any issues you can't email them or text them otherwise they will get upset and threaten to evict.this is how we feel there is room for improvement otherwise if we need something fixed maintenance is on top of it they rock.
Hi William, this is Brandon at D&D. You understand that after your last landlord evicted you, we accepted your application to move in to our apartment with some hesitancy. You have lived here for just over 90 days and in that time, you have emailed us over 45 times. You have reported every single noise to the CR police department, including people talking at normal levels and/or playing music in their own apartment at 6:00pm on a Friday night. I have removed people from the complex that needed a fresh start to help accommodate you, I have transferred people to other complexes to help accommodate you and once I have done those things, you find a new neighbor to complain about. You have created many enemies in this complex by the amount of times you have called the police on them for absolutely nothing. I have offered to allow you to move to another complex of ours that may suit you better as well as allow you to terminate the lease without repercussions so you could find somewhere else that can suit you better. Not one single time in our correspondence has eviction been discussed, as you mention in your review. We have talked face to face about the "problems" you have reported and you thanked us for rectifying them. Unfortunately, apartment living does come with noises, but your neighbors having normal-level conversations and the laundry room door opening and closing comes with the territory. I am sorry we are not able to help you further, but no one is violating any laws or policies when they talk at normal levels or when you go to bed at 8pm and music is playing.
Experiencia fantástica: Very helpful! Update: they were a tremendous help to my brother finding a place to live. When my brother's health deteriorated they showed compassion and understanding to get us through the ordeal. You could not find anyone better in Cedar Rapids and I am eternally grateful.

Experiencia negativa: I would give them a zero if I could My name is David Chase I moved in to the 3333 pioneer ave apartment last year around August it was problematic since the start. First things first the apartment was dirty when I moved in including me having to vacuum each room and sweep the floor before even taking my shoes off, the next problem was there was no light fixtures which add in to another problem later on. One day my toilet overflowed it was to the point my entire apartment was covered the maintenance guys said the don’t come out for clogged toilets and so I was stuck fixing the problem myself after repeatedly telling them this was not just a regular clogged toilet then they threatened to charge me if they had to come out. I shampooed the entire carpet after it smelling like mildew for day because nobody came out it was barely breathable air. Them winter rolls around and I found out my heat never work at all. I sent a few text which again they did nothing about. It starts to get warm out again and my toilet dose the same thing it did earlier that year floods my entire apartment I had called several times no maintenance came out a week or so Brandon one of the main guys comes out tells me my carpet is fine this time my shampooer was broken due to the previous incident. It smelled like mildew and was hard to breathe in for weeks after about another month I’m ready to move out and I had caused some damage to the walls and doors which I was completely ok with paying for but then they are now trying to charge me for the carpet saying that it is animal urin that ruined it after I had there is about 1500 for a carpet charge that they are trying to charge me not only that the light structures that they never put in they also tried charging me for. Never go through this company they are money hungry and only care for themselves. This was in the appartments on 3333 pioneer ave apartment 7 I was 18 when I moved in and they thought just because I was young that I wasn’t smart enough to know the law and might rights as a tenant.
Hi David, you destroyed our apartment in your short tenancy with us more so than any other tenant ever has. You had 17 holes in your apartment from fists, two of your bedroom doors were broken in half, and you let your animals defecate throughout the apartment. Your apartment needed to be gutted in order to remove the odor and extensive repairs to fix the holes that were punched in the walls.
Experiencia positiva: The entrance to the office is a nightmare, especially in a wheelchair. The staff were not the most helpful. I had specific concerns, which needed immediate attention.Unfortunately, the staff member I dealt with seemed a bit lost.
Experiencia fantástica: I have been a tenant with this company for over a year and have consistently had positive experiences. Every interaction, whether with management or the maintenance team, has been handled with professionalism and courtesy. Any concerns I’ve raised were addressed promptly—often with a response within minutes and a resolution within the hour. The team has even gone out of their way to accommodate my needs by adjusting the lawn care schedule. I highly recommend this company for their excellent service and responsiveness. EDIT: I recently had an issue with some plumbing. D&D went above and beyond to get it fixed. They stayed in constant communication with me. The maintenance guys are all so kind, they take the time to explain things and are so helpful.

Experiencia fantástica: I rented from D&D last year and for an apartment in a bigger city (Marion) it was perfect. Great price, quiet neighbors, no one messed with packages that were delivered, and I was always able to get ahold of someone if I needed anything. For example, my heater wasn't working last winter and they had it completely fixed within a few days. Now moving back to the area next month, I'm very happy to be renting from them again, just two doors over from where I rented last time!!

Experiencia fantástica: I've had my ups and downs with D&D and ive said things with anger. I am glad to say I have been a tenant for 6 years and have enjoyed my stay for thoes 6 years. They have responded to me when ive needed help from my hot water not working/when it kept running, to my AC unit not working. They have been a big help to me and my needs. Thank you for all your hard work and continued support even when I have been a bit rude at times on my reviews .

Experiencia positiva: I enjoy where I live! I been at my apartment for 5 years. D&D has many properties so when people are complaining check which complex they’re talking about. I seen lot of people come and go and changes but I enjoy living here lot. The company is very nice and helpful ever time I need something fixed in my apartment. I even had water damage and they came and fixed it right away and they were so nice and my whole kitchen looks new! The only thing I hate is the parking lot. It needs some work done. Also when it snows it take couple hours for them to plow which is VERY annoying! If your trying to get into the apartment complex, because of the snow build up on the hill it makes it very difficult to enter the apartment complex. (Especially if you have a low car good luck trying to get it) I have had to shove the entrance during a snow storm to get my car in! After snowstorms most of the time people don’t shovel around their cars, shoveling around the cars does help, I wish more people did it. Sides the parking lot which I cannot change I enjoy my apartment lot!

Experiencia negativa: Currently living in one of the rental houses and it is by far the worst most out of date and just thrown together as cheap as they can to make the most money out of you highly recommend anyone but D&D and if you so choose to live in one of their properties I hope you know you’re waisting your money and then when lease is up they try to make you pay for issues that were there before living there just to get an extra buck out of you never have I ever heard of a 900$ cleaning fee for when I moved out of a 800 square ft apartment when it was regular wear and tear DO NOT RENT FROM THEM!

I don’t have anyone by this name in any of our properties. You also stated you are currently living in one of our houses but we don’t charge current tenants for any cleaning fees. Experiencia negativa: I would not recommend renting from D&D (Cedar Rapid) at all!!! No matter who you talk to in the office, after a problem arises, they will give you the runaround and claim not to know anything about your situation. There is a lack of communication even within the office. I was finally informed after filing a police report and contacting D&D several times about my stolen packages and the harassment that the cameras did not work. I informed D&D of my fear due to the harassment. I was advised to install a "ring doorbell," which I did, but this did not stop the harassment. Yes, D&D was aware of the continued harassment. I was informed several times by a D&D employee that "the boss" was out of the country, and they were waiting for him to review the footage." Then, I was later told by D&D employees, " The cameras only go back 2 weeks, and the footage is not saved. How convenient of D&D after allowing it to be well over the 2-week mark while waiting to hear back from the owner. When I asked to speak with the owner, I was informed by D&D that the people I spoke with in the office were as "high as management goes, and there is no one else for me to talk to." The cameras on the premises are used as a selling point to make potential/ new tenants feel safe when, in fact, they are not functioning, and D&D is aware of this when they provide this false information about security and safety. D&D employees were dishonest and failed to follow through with anything except collecting the deposit and rent. I am a travel nurse who rents apartments in different states. This was a horrible and frightening experience!

Experiencia negativa: I rented from this management in 2022 at the Oakland apartments, Everything was fine during the moving in process, but once moved in found out that the units heat was not working, it was one of them old ones that you see in a hotel, called and texted about it many times it took FOREVER to get this fixed with many failed attempts, they gave me a heater to use. During my stay with them I was in a domestic situation that ended with him serving person time,.. I woke up one morning to finding my car all scratched up, when I called the office and spoke to Tammy telling her what I woke up too and teller her that the property says it has cameras out there if she could please look at the footage and provide it to the police. (I obviously made a police report) to then her telling me that they don’t actually work. ( I was super upset about that) I was very pregnant and couple weeks after this happened I had my baby, a week after my ex broke into my apartment and beat me, I then rented a U-Haul a couple night later packed up only what I could fit and left to another state. Yes I broke the lease due to domestic violences , there is a law protecting individuals from these situations. I did have someone go to my place and fix the damage my ex caused and they cleared out my apartment and cleaned, I then contacted the management and spoke with Tammy again, where she continued to tell me that I was still responsible for the rent and breaking the lease, and I continued to tell her about the law that protected me in this situation. I gave her the Proof that this really happened along with the reports and the restraining order, as that’s what’s required on my part to provide them.well come now to 2024, where I tried to get a apartment in my name and it came back i owed money to this property, they put it on my rental history and my credit report. Not only did they fail me they violated a law that protects me. They have YET been willing to just fix this issue, where it’s clear that Tammy needs too take responsibility of her actions. I have contacted a lawyer to help me resolve this. But I would Never recommend D&D to anyone, they lie they scam they do things in their time, but most of all they are money hungry and will do anything to get it, including breaking a law. Do better D&D .. and Tammy I pray non of your family members ever end up in a situation that I was in and they come to you too help them because we know you would fail them just like you did me. You should be ashamed. ( I’m sure there are things I’m missing but these are the main things)

Experiencia negativa: Terrible human beings. My mother who is a tenant in one of their properties put a deposit down on a house she wanted to move in on A Ave in Cedar Rapids. The front window was busted out and the home was fifty. Brandon called and texted constantly for a deposit. When she paid the deposit he then asked her to wait for an undetermined amount of time to move in. After waiting and never receiving truthful information nor a reasonable timeline for a move in date she decided she didn't want the home anymore. He told her they were keeping the deposit of 1375 even though they never attempted to do any work. If you drive by the property the window is still boarded up. This company takes advantage of low income individuals and the elderly.
Hi Kisma, this is Brandon. This is not entirely true. You saw the house in the move out state, that the previous tenant had left dirty. The previous tenant had also broke the front large living room window, so yes it is boarded up currently until the new window arrives. I texted you on May 31st about the move in date being put off just a tad longer and you stated… “ Sorry about that. No I'm not in a dire rush if you need more time we can wait. As you know my mom is going to pay her rent regardless so we can wait. Thanks for the update.”
I made you well aware the home would not be ready, cleaned, and the window replaced on the June 10th requested date and you said that was just fine. Now, 19 days after paying deposit, you requested the deposit back. You signed and acknowledged the deposit is non refundable in the application process after 24 hours. As I discussed with your mother, the home is still yours to move in to. It’s unfortunate we have had resorted to social media to discuss this as I had told your mother I would have loved to sit down face to face to discuss any and all options. As I said earlier today please call me at 319-377-5666 to discuss more or stop by our office at 3525 Center Point Rd Suite B. We would still love to have you as tenants for the house you paid deposit, and it will be cleaned, painted, and maintenance work will all be completed before you move in, as we had previously discussed back in May. Experiencia positiva: I have read some of these reviews and am not sure we worked with the same people to be honest. Tammy went out of her way to make sure I had a place I was comfortable with on short notice i wasn’t kept waiting and I was treated with the same respect I gave them. Bryce was also helpful when it came to my moving situation…I’m not sure others would have been as helpful to me. I wasn’t in a new place but it was cozy and comfortable. I would deal with them again.
Experiencia negativa: These people are so rude and grimey. I was living in one of their units for a year. My time there I had several asthma flare ups and wasn’t sure why, come to find out there was mold in my bathroom ceiling because it had several leaks before and they just covered with a drop ceiling. There was water damage in the walls that was connected to the bathroom and they just painted over it. After telling them about the issue they took months to fix it during that time they tried to find several reasons to complain about me as a tenant, claiming that I wasn’t taking care of the unit because I didn’t have time to clean one day when they came to do an inspection. I am a single mother working full time so it wasn’t always up to part. I reached out to a city inspector and he informed me that the mold was a level 4 contamination and nobody should be living in those conditions. I started receiving calls from them asking me why I reached out to an inspector which was confusing because in the email I sent to them and the inspector I explained what was going on. They then removed the inspector from the email then responded saying they will come and still didn’t for weeks. When they finally did they didn’t clean the mold properly they just added new pieces of drop ceiling and left the old ones in the bathroom when they were done. I then left a one star review, they called me and asked me to remove the review and I said I was just being honest. That same day I had an eviction notice on my door. They gave me 30 days to move but for some reason still expected the last month rent. If you ask me that’s is impossible to have to move in 30 days and pay $595 in rent. So I am here to leave the full story with pictures so other people can be aware of what they are getting into if they ever decide to rent from these scammers!

A family oriented business that tries whole heartedly to provide a great leasing & office staff as well as a friendly & professional maintenace team! The respect & responsibilities of a landlord/tenant relationship can be difficult at times but as a non corporate business communication is key!
Experiencia fantástica: They did a great job getting me in my place. I am a first time renter and they helped me through every step. Super friendly!! Was really nervous moving into my own place by myself and they made me feel very comfortable. my apartment was really clean and was fully ready for me when I moved in!!

Experiencia fantástica: Great Assortment of places to suit each person's needs or wants in an apartment. Fantastic staff with great communication and transparency to help you get into a place and want to stay there. Never had a problem with the neighbors or other tenants, and would rent from them again.
Experiencia negativa: If I could give zero stars I would. I moved in and they didn’t tell me my siding was BURNT OFF from the previous tenant. I texted them constantly about fixing it with no reply. My air conditioner was older than I am and held in the wall with duct tape making my energy bill $300 in August!!!! The apartment wasn’t clean and I had to clean everything myself before moving in. There were paint splatters on the floor and paint missing from the walls. My neighbors were something else with diapers and garbage sitting in the parking lot. I never would recommend D and D or the maplewood apartments to anyone.
Experiencia fantástica: I’ve been with D&D for almost 3 years now and haven’t had any issues with them. This past week they were awesome and helped get me a new place as well as help me move. Tami and the rest office staff have always been polite and understanding when I've reached out as well as the maintenance men. I appreciate everything they have helped me with.

Experiencia negativa: What a complete joke of a real estate company!!! Turned me down mainly cause of me being short 70 dollars for rent and deposit on an apartment in Marion. Completely ridiculous company. Also very rude and unprofessional staff. Not caring about how I was just moving back from Oregon at the time and trying to get back on my feet. I will not recommend this company to anyone ever!

She gave me the wrong key for a unit and still took that opportunity to try to make me feel dumb for the 4th time. As soon as I walked out I knew I'd never be back. I wouldn't recommend this place. Experiencia negativa: STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!! They're constantly raising their rates, (rent has gone up over $100 in the last half year, and that's not the first time). They REFUSE to fix issues with the heat/water/anything. They are the DEFINITION of a slum lord!!
Experiencia positiva: My Partner and I lived at the Oakland rd tall brick buildings for a little over a year. Maintenance was great, super quick and always polite. The online portal is much appreciated and for the most of the time calling the office went smoothly. I appreciate how easy it was to get in contact with someone. My biggest ick is probably the state of the apartment moving in, which seems to be a re-occurring problem in the reviews. It was my first apartment so I didn't know any better prior to signing the lease. So many things painted over. Hairs, bugs, dirt. The hinge on one of our doors was painted over so many times that it could no longer close. The paint is so thin that even using a microfiber cloth and water on the baseboards made them peel. But what took the cake was the nicotine stains that covered the bathroom ceiling. Every time I took a shower, the walls would bleed nicotine. Took a lot of time and neck pain cleaning the walls and ceiling.. If you don't mind doing quite a bit of cleanup or making them do it, then living there was fine. And by the end of our stay after living a clean lifestyle and leaving the apartment how they asked, we received our security deposit ( minus carpet cleaning fee) and our pet fees back. This definitely boosted their reputation with me and settled them on neutral if not positive ground with me.
Experiencia negativa: I live in one of there properties at the moment and just had the worst experience of my life from a rental company. Tammy was absolutely rude inconsiderate wouldn't list or ever pretend to care when they are in the wrong and did wrong and lied about what they did do. Would highly recommend not renting from them. I'm filling a complaint with all the proper places and contacting a lawyer thats how horrible it is dealing with them. From the moment I moved in the apartment was over run with roaches and hasn't gotten better. Truly would rent anywhere else if possible
Experiencia negativa: If I could give 0 stars that’s what i would do. Absolutely WORST place to rent through. For the last 6 months they left our whole apartment complex infested with roaches, crawling in our fridge, bed, clothes, couch, toilet, bathtub, sink, walls, on our dishes, absolutely EVERYWHERE. There were multiple occasions where my 7 month old baby was playing with toys on the floor and she would have roaches on her toys, in her toy bins. I sent emails to them multiple times, no response, when calling up there they said “get containers for food, vacuum everyday, and mop with bleach” they would usually have orkin come spray once a month, they spent maybe 2 minutes in our apartment.The stairs had dead smashed roaches on them for WEEKS before they would come out and clean it. and when you call to inform them there first go to is “there’s nothing we can do” there the most rudest, unprofessional, laziest people i’ve ever met, i am BEYOND thankful we got outta there. will NEVER rent through them again, absolutely disgusting. Experiencia negativa: Would highly NOT recommend. They don't deserve even a one star but had to give it in order to leave a review. D&D starts off nice before signing the lease, then once lease is signed, their attitudes change for the worse. Office employees and Tami are not nice or trustworthy at all. Office very rude to young adults and take HUGE advantage of them, refuse to listen or help them, then say it is the fault of the young tenants for not communicating. They basically are rude and scare off tenants so they don't ask for any help. Nothing but issue after issue during the year lease. At move in, apartment was dirty, food/stains on the kitchen walls, very filthy under the stove, rust spots were just painted over throughout apartment so the rust comes back through over time, windows were filthy and some didn't have screens (they aren't even true windows, they are single storm windows, one which had tape on it to hold it in place), paint chipping off the walls, damaged walls repaired poorly, dirty carpets and old items from previous tenants found under registers. Had to thoroughly clean apartment before it could be moved into. Non-working fridge for over a month, claims it is fixed 5 times when it isn't and lost hundreds of dollars of spoiled food. Finally told a new one is ordered, promised several times it was coming on a certain date and it never comes, but then instead finally bring a DIRTY used fridge. They send out threatening letters if you have an ESA because they don't know who all has dogs so those that they know of get accused of poop not getting picked up. When tenants try to talk to office employees about it, they are rude and hang up on you. Dogs are allowed to run on the premises unrestrained and cause bites to happen and their attitude is "oh well". Water pours into the basement apartment because of non-existing drainage on the apartment building (all 3 different times reported) and landlord does not clean up the water damage up, it is 100% up to the tenant to clean up the muddy water out of the carpets that has poured in. They are not easy or nice to work with. When giving notice to end the lease they try to make you jump through extra hoops that aren't in the lease trying to charge more money from the tenants. They refuse to do walk through when moving out so they can try to stick it to tenants to keep your deposit. Landlord does as little as possible and only if you keep insisting and are firm with them will anything get done. Office will tell you they will do this or that and it never happens. When you have to be firm to get your legal rights as a tenant and not let them step all over you/take advantage of you, they then get mad when you stand up to them and say you are treating them badly. Very poor, unfriendly management in Cedar Rapids, IA! Stay far away from this rental company!

Maintenance does bare minimum to keep things running(not working as they should). Half way through our lease they stopped providing lawncare and forced the tenants to do it. The obese women that run the office need a reality check. Don't plan on getting a deposit back from these slumlords
Experiencia fantástica: I have enjoyed living with this company, honestly. If we have an issue, they respond pretty quickly. Anything broken has been fixed within a day or two. If they can't fix it right away, they're honest about it. My only issue with them has been my central air. It is extremely old and they refuse to replace it. They do come out and fix it enough to be manageable throughout the summer, though. This is the one company that I would stick with if I can when moving because they make it super easy and they won't cheat you on refund back. They might even make it easier.
Experiencia negativa: A friend of mine has just moved into a property. So far the maintenance staff has been slow to respond to issues that should have been resolved prior to moving into the apartment. Several security issues are a concern I’ve been ignored. The photo below shows a security concern. This is a ground level window, and because of radiant heat that tenants have no ability to control this window often needs to remain open. My friend is a female who is 25 years old and lives alone. I have concerns about her safety. There should be bars or some type of security that doesn’t allow for an entry-level window to be easily used by burglars. There is no such security or lighting near the windows that would detract burglars. In addition the floors which are beautiful hardwood floors were filthy when she moved in . Ceiling fans don’t work which is more of an issue because of the radiant heat and the inability to control the temperature there is virtually no hot water in the bathroom sink which for a 25-year-old female is rather important. So far I would say that D&D holdings does not live up to its tenant first advertisement.

Experiencia positiva: I’ve rented here for almost 7 years, and overall it has been a good experience. The rent has always been VERY affordable (rent has been increased a few times over the years, but is still one of the cheaper places in town to live), with most amenities being included in the rent bill. Obviously since they are old apartments there are many updates that need to be made (ex. windows replaced, updated water systems, etc) but for me personally am not too bothered by them. I’ve always had very prompt responses to my maintenance requests, however the maintenance teams, while friendly and helpful, typically leave some type of mess behind after they fix something- That is my one biggest complaint, that they rarely clean up after themselves if they make a mess.

Experiencia fantástica: I have been living in my unit for the last 3 yrs. As long as you treat them with respect, they will treat you with respect. All the staff is friendly, professional, and they have a broad range of affordable units, with various locations, to choose from. If you have a maintenance issue, they respond quickly and will go out of their way to make sure its fixed. They allow pets with a reasonable security deposit and monthly rate, but with limits on dog breeds and animal species. I love the ability to pay my rent online. Its quick and easy. In the winter, after it snows, they attempt to plow, but not all renters will move their vehicles. Any complaints I have heard, actually came from the tenants who didn't move out of the way. When I first moved in, the apartment wasn't the cleanest, but it never hurt me. I moved in right after last tenant moved out and knew they never had time to actually clean it, before I moved in. I bought an area rug to cover the stains in the carpet, I got used to the exposed carpet tacks, and sorta cleaned the kitchen sink myself. Maintenance fixed the dripping faucets. No mind altering issues or petty complaints. People need to realize, that they do purchase older apartment complexes, that previous landlords had neglected and let get run down. If I ever have to move again, I will see what they have to offer first.

I have had a ferrett since before they took over my apartment complex now almost 2 years into them taking over the property they are making me get rid of my ferrett. Said its a smelly animal. My apartment has never smelled compared to the rest of the building. There's people with bed bugs and I now have to get rid of my emotion baby I've had for years for problems they have never had with me. Great heartless people.They stated they don't allow ferrettes at all because of the odor. Funny how you never smelled my ferrett coming in before today. They didn't even smell her today. I was playing with her that's how they knew I had her. They have never had an odor complaint from my apartment
Experiencia negativa: When I moved into an apartment of theirs years ago there was an entire pop tart shoved into the air conditioner vent and the counters were covered in black grime. They charged me a cleaning fee when I moved out, but something tells me they don’t actually use it for cleaning the properties between tenants. Not a great option for many reasons.

I very rarely do negative review and I didn't do back then as i feel bad to rate negative any business. However I now feel that people like my friend should not fall victim of these people. Experiencia negativa: I moved into this building in August of 2013. Since then I have not heard a thing about Bats or rodents or roaches or bedbugs, until just a short time after D & D took it over. Then in just a matter of maybe 4 or 5 months, now this is the second episode of bedbugs! And you screen your new, incoming tenants? Hhhmmm!! Interesting! By-the-way! I'm tired of the too-much fun and excitement in this building!! As I said, all you're interested in is improving the value of the property, you care not a whit about your tenants! You've raised our rent, the cost of using the washers and dryers, and shortened the time that the washers and dryers run on the now increased cost of using them! BTW!! That huge hole that was cut in my living-room wall is still a huge hole in my living-room wall, it's never been fixed! Then, when I asked for surveillance cameras, that isn't possible!! Agan: Hhhmmm!

They deny support dogs even though that's illegal to do. They don't answer when you need to talk to someone. And do not care if neighbors odors and noises bother others.

Extremely unprofessional and unresponsive. I've had my calls completely ignored and even hung up on before. Even when I get a hold of them I have to fight them to fix basic things. Experiencia fantástica: I have lived in their Meadowview apartments for 2 years now. They've come to fix any issues, repeatedly of necessary, in a timely manner with positive attitudes. Not once have I been disappointed in them! They were very quick to respond after the 2020 derecho, and made sure our homes were safe to live in. I would rent from them again in a heartbeat!

Experiencia negativa: Maintenance is worse than ever. Ive done 3 different requests on my dishwasher, and its still broken. (Hasn't worked since we moved in) they just look at it, flip the soap hatch, and say "i don't see anything wring with it". Alright, well, the standing water, soap still in the container, and melted rack piece should tell ya quite a bit about whats wrong, but I don't know anything, right?

But, this time it's just going to be me applying I will be doing the application. Once I get some things off of my credit score. So I can move in right away so I'll say like the middle of February or the end of February I'll be ready to move in one of your complex. Just fixing on my credit so I can move. I don't want to get denied have a decent credit is good so before I do the application I need to get my credit up right now my credit is 492 I got the income I make good money it's just my credit score I need to work on that more and I've been working on my credit getting things paid off. Experiencia negativa: They try to change the rules or demand things like they have the right when its not on any lease. They don't communicate back when you need to talk unless it benefits them. They will use anything they can to rip you off. I'm looking into things more with a lawyer about how they are running things. They don't respond to my emails.

I will take you through my personal experience and try to sum it up, not like anyone reads or cares about these anyways. 2015: I needed an apartment fast as I had a buddy finishing his schooling and was looking to room with me. Settled on the Robinwood location. Fair price in what for the most part seemed like a safe location. The units were also being renovated so at the time it seemed like an ok choice. I call set to set up a showing, the head person who I don't recall, no shows. I was lucky enough that the maintenance guy Dane was there doing renovations, and he was happy to show me around. Ok, stuff happens. No biggie. I go to sign the lease and the same lady who no showed me, revealed that they had recently taken care of a bed bug problem literally just as I was about to sign the dotted line, and I was to report to them if I encountered any lingering problems (thanks for the heads up). I decided that as my future roommate was literally moving into town the next week or so, whatever, we just had to deal with it. When it came time to move in, I had to do so late at night due to working 2nd shift, THEY GAVE ME THE WRONG KEYS. Dane was very helpful and helped the situation deescalate. Also being in a ground floor unit, we were told we may be disturbed with renovations being done in the unit above for an estimated month. This was in early August. Working 2nd shift I was constantly woken up until right around the end of October/beginning of November. It sucked but ok, stuff happens. December 2016: Had my car hit and run in the parking lot. No cameras despite the sign posted. 2018: Our ceiling paint literally started falling down in chunks from god knows what reason. December 2019: Had someone break into my new car at 5 am, and had a gun pulled on me. Once again, no cameras. Took months for them to even put up security lights. 2016-2020: Fairly uneventful, my original roommate moved out and a new one moved in. Any maintenance requests usually took a little longer than expected to get to, anywhere from a few days to sometimes upwards of a week+. The moving out process was literally the biggest pain in the butt, especially with the pandemic going on. It also did not help that the former roommate who moved in was also trying to be a dead beat. When trying to speak with the management about the situation, while just asking for options or advice, as I had never encountered this situation before, (not looking for freebies) I was consistently berated and talked to condescendingly as if I had been a dead beat tenant myself. 5+ years, no missed payments. I understand none of this was their problem and I'm sure they probably get a lot of issues from tenants not trying to pay rent, but when a tenant is JUST ASKING FOR INFORMATION, for gods sake a least treat them like a human being. That being said, Tami was very helpful in trying to right the wrong of whoever I spoke with originally. She was understanding and tried to point me in the correct direction or what actions to take. Thank you, but your counterpart in the office simply sucks. As far as getting the original deposit of right around 675ish back, they incorrectly charged one half of our months last rent when it had been paid up, cleaning charges (which I don't disagree with) and other small fees. The final sum we got back was right around $200 which reading from previous reviews I'm not surprised. They also assured me that even though the deposit check would be in both our names, I would still be able to deposit it, despite my former roommate going off the grid. Nope. my bank says I need her signature, too bad. So basically I have a meaningless check that I won't be able to cash, they won't write a new one and thats that. See ya later. Thank you to Tami and Dane, for what little positive interactions I had. The rest of you, well, I don't know. Roast me, discredit me, whatever. I don't really care. I will avoid your property like the plague and definitely recommend others do the same.

Experiencia fantástica: Giving 5 stars as I had a completely reasonable experience with these guys. They weren't intrusive and fixed any maintenance issues very quickly. The realty company is great, but you have to look into A) what you're renting and B) where you're renting it at. Any issues I had usually had to do with the part of town I was in, but the company themselves were solid. For reference, I rented from them for 1 year.

Experiencia fantástica: I waited to post my review until I could say I completed the entire experience. Originally, I moved from Montana and they made moving in with them easy even from a distance. I was able to take care of the application online and the deposit through the mail. There was a little mix up when I arrived, but the staff quickly fixed it and I was still able to move in on time. I believe that I have been polite whenever I spoke with the office staff, or the maintenance and they always acted professionally and polite in return. The maintenance guys were lightening fast and I had any fixes done usually within 36 hours of putting in a request. The building I was in was old, but well maintained. I didn't have any complaints about the maintenance, or ladies in the office. It was just sad that they didn't have any property that allowed dogs. At least not in the area that I wanted to move to. Renting from them was great and I'd rent from D&D again. I read about some people complaining about their deposit not being returned. It is part of why I waited until I was relocated before posting a review. My apartment was spotless when I left and I left it in excellent condition. No problems. D&D treated me fairly and I got my deposit back. What money they did keep was itemized on a receipt. I think the charges were fair. If I have to move again in the future I'll be checking out what D&D has available. Thanks for the great experience!

Experiencia negativa: I have NEVER been more frustrated talking to a place of business than i was with this place! Mandi called me and left a VERY condescending, INVASIVE, and flat out RUDE almost 3 minute long voicemail about a minor maintenance repair they are wanting to do. I returned her call and expressed that her voicemail was rude and unnecessary and she immediately became combative and condescending and started talking over me. I was trying to clear up the issue rationally and she KEPT cutting me off saying things like "oh, you must be having a bad day". It was clear she didn't care about the issue at hand. It got so frustrating that i had to request to speak to someone else. Tami then got on the line and she handled the matter professionally. Mandi has 0% professionalism, 0% customer service skills and obviously 0% common sense or courtesy. Its baffling how she even has this job. Looking at some of the other reviews i see i'm not the only one that has had to experience her rude and disgusting demeanor. There are some other things i don't like about d&d but this one sticks out the most to me. I'm giving them 1 star because 0 wasn't an option.
Experiencia negativa: They don’t care if your FREEZING COLD in your apartment! The heater aides DONT WORK/ARENT EFFICIENT ENOUGH TO HEAT YOUR HOUSE! They are very Unprofessional in the office! A lady named TAMMY will just talk over you on phone. Maintenance are lazy they put no salt on the ground when ice hits!! Company is just outwright terrible wish I never moved here!!!!
