Experiencia negativa: Very rude. Had to reschedule a showing 2 times due to illness and then the medical emergency that followed and they said I wouldn't be able to view if I reschedule again. Clearly I don't wanna rent from a place without understanding or professionalism anyways. Steer clear folks.

Experiencia fantástica: Matik was great! They let me tour a handful of places and although some of them weren’t the greatest, the price was always great for what I would have been getting. I forgot who I toured with, but she was very kind and helped any questions I had. I’m posting this about a month and a half after moving in, and I love the place so far!

Experiencia negativa: Are you looking at reviews for Matik to manage your property? Here’s our experience. We own a property in Rochester, MN, and after many years of self-managing, we decided to hire a management company. When we looked into Matik, we noticed they had plenty of “okay” reviews from renters, but almost nothing from property owners. Now we understand why. The contract sounds helpful at first. They say if something needs to be fixed, don’t worry—they’ll take care of it using their “sister company.” What they don’t clearly explain is what that really means for owners. Once we saw the accounting, it was shocking. Repairs and maintenance were extremely overpriced. For example, lawn mowing was charged three times a week at $70 per visit for a very small yard. A plumbing issue that normally costs $350–$500 was billed at $1,680. And that was just the beginning. At the end of the day, any “profit” depends on what’s left after their sister company submits all the bills—which usually means there’s nothing left. In some cases, you may even owe money. We terminated our contract as soon as we realized what was going on, and there is a little something coming to their mail soon.

Experiencia negativa: I made an appointment with this “rental company” and when the day came for my showing no one came. Even though I confirmed it with the “receptionist” lady. And so I waited around for someone to come and then I called the company and told them I was waiting at my confirmed appointment time and she had the nerve to say “oh you were actually making an appointment that day?” all I can say is incompetence. And I’m so glad I never rented with them. And I drove all the way from Iowa. And they are just a waste of your time. I’m also guessing their “apartments” they rent aren’t even decent, despite the pictures they post online.

She helped me to prepare my document and apply for the unit. I am new to US and procedure and she was super helpful in making sure that the documents are correct. Additionally, she was very responsive when I needed to talk to her both in email and phone. Overall great experience in communicating with this company and Amariah . I would definitely advice

Experiencia negativa: Poor communication, lack of transparency, and disorganized processes—these are just a few of the major issues I encountered with this management company. Working with this management company requires an excessive amount of patience and tolerance, and instead of making the process of renting easier, turns it into a nightmare. I was in the process of renting an apartment from them, which ended up taking around two weeks. The person showing the unit had little to no information about important details—such as a recent water leak and other issues with the apartment—and advised me to contact management directly. When I did, they told me they’d get back to me but never followed up until I reached out again. This lack of communication happened repeatedly. They consistently failed to respond to inquiries or provide clear answers, dragging out the process unnecessarily. After finally resolving everything and deciding to rent the unit, they suddenly mentioned a requirement—a 3-year rental history—that was never listed on the website or apartment posting. That led to the deal falling through. Overall, they wasted two weeks of my time with poor communication and a lack of professionalism. I wouldn’t recommend dealing with them unless you’re ready for a frustrating experience.

Experiencia positiva: I recently experienced a maintenance issue, and Marcus responded promptly to assist. He dedicated several hours to troubleshooting and made multiple trips to gather the necessary parts. While the issue ultimately required the expertise of an electrician, Marcus made every effort to resolve it himself. I appreciated his persistence and transparency—after exhausting all options, he acknowledged the limitations of the situation and appropriately escalated the matter. This issue is not yet resolved. I value Marcus's commitment to resolving issues promptly and to the best of his ability. His professionalism and dedication are always evident and greatly appreciated. That being said, this is only my review on that particular interaction with maintenance.

Experiencia negativa: If you are renting in Rochester I would do everything in your power to rent from a different company. There were many issues with Matik during our unfortunate years of being their tenants including poor communication (don't respond to emails and then avoid calls), incomplete maintenance requests (without a dishwasher for 3+ weeks) and attempts to charge you for damage that was already present on the property. If you end up renting from Matik, take pictures of every inch of the property during move-in as they will charge you for existing damage. Good luck!

Air conditioning: central air or individual units? How many units? How many thermostat's? Mail boxes or inside mail and package delivery space? Experiencia negativa: Repairs are not done on time and the repairman does not give proper notice when he actually does show. I have wasted several days waiting around for maintenance to arrive and it never does, and they don't communicate to reschedule either. Management blames it on the owner- What exactly are you managing then? We've been fighting to get repairs done since we moved in. Particularly, there has been a reoccuring issue with mold but the person I spoke with attempted to gaslight me about the mold I was seeing with my own two eyes. Some of these repairs are ones issued by Red Wing HRA but since July these fixes still have not been made. When you call to complain they become rude and unprofessional. Repairs still have not been made but they have wasted a lot of time gaslighting us on the issues with the unit. Mold, lack of hot water and when we do get hot water it is SCALDING at 166+ degrees! Sagging ceilings, peeling paint. Absolutely no control over the temperature of your own unit, it's been over 80 degrees inside in winter but you can't open windows or they fine you! It was filthy when we moved in, previous tenants had left rotting food. It was in a worse state when we moved in than when we toured and someone had clearly gained entry to the unit through the compromised front door, vandalized the walls, and left trash around. The maintenance man the owner goes through is condescending, unprofessional, sexist, and racist. NEVER arrives on time, when he bothers to show at all, and gets upset with you if you ask him when he's coming. Absolutely terrible to rent from.

Experiencia negativa: They don’t show up for the showings. When you reach out to the main office to see if someone is meeting you, to get told they don’t have time before their next showing. But we are in my appointment time and no one seemed to care that I was waiting on them. Mind you I sainted for 10 min after our meeting time and after I seen the Matik company car drive right by. I can only imagine the headache I saved by knowing what I know now. I can’t rent through an unorganized company.

Experiencia negativa: I honestly should have known better. When i walked into the office i was talking to the head counter person and was told of a person who wanted to renew their lease but they already swiped a tenant in under them and were forcing them to move, even showing their apartment while the tenant still resided there. They were complaining about push back but stating how they were going to get the new tenant in. Because they listed the property before the tenant was even moved out. That should have been my sign to not work with this company. But against my better judgment and my gut, i threw down the $300 deposit because I was told that if my application was approved it would go towards it, denied and i would get it back. Due to unforeseen circumstances I tried to withdraw before my application was approved or denied, and they are telling me that i forfeit the $300. When i had discussed with them in person i was led to believe that $300 forfeiture only happens when your application is approved or denied. Not before hand when it was being processed. So since they held the application still in pending, they had me forfeit the $300 to cancel my application. An application that is already paid for. They are stating its for holding the residence off the market. As if they would have had someone in for it in 3 days. Which doesnt make sense since if you are not approved, it would be the same process but without them getting your $300. Dont go with this company guys. Their policies are ridiculous. You dont even get to see the lease first before putting your $300 down. You dont get to understand what you are signing up for in full. Hence why they want you to forfeit that $300 if you back out after submitting an application. I was told after application approval thats when it would be forfeit. Now im finding out its after your app is submitted. I was told where to sign and missed the very small part of a sentence where it says ‘if you back out before approval’ They dont tell you before hand if you will be paying one deposit or a double deposit. Keep that in mind if you mistakenly apply here only having one months deposit. Reality is, i just paid $350 for no good reason. If i had been denied, it would have been $50 for them to process my application, and zero for them to re list the property. Think about that. This place is not worth the time, the money, or your stress. Talk to someone who just wants your application fee to apply. Dont put $300 on the line like I did. It doesnt make sense that you can have $300 back if denied, but you cant if you back out before. It honestly doesnt make sense that you have to throw $300 down before you ever even get to see the lease your signing. Its shisty business and I am sure they love when people back out for what ever reason. Family emergency, another apartment approved you, job decided to send you somewhere else, what ever it may be. Its the first company I have seen do this, I will no longer support companies that do, because it will make it common place among the industry. I will also note this property had already been on the market awhile, and i wasnt allowed to view more than one. Go talk to dwell or one of the other property management places. Save your money. Matik’s policies are out of this world, they take your money, and from what I have read in the reviews (really should have looked) they pawn everything off on the property owner even though they themselves are managing your rental. Yuck.

Experiencia negativa: Worst management ever. Iv put multiple maintenance requests in and they never get completed. They blame it on the landlord. What is the point of you managing then? No point. The maintenance requests are so old they finally just went in nd put they were all completed when they weren’t. We had a mouse in our apartment for months. They wouldn’t do anything about it. Put a maintenance order in they said. Nothing was done. I’m fed up. They have been nothing but unprofessional. The day I came to view the apartment they showed up with no keys. My freezer was completely full of mold. My walls look black. Bathroom is full of mold. But they are painting the outside of the building to look like a damn skittles commercial. Iv got so many more things I can list. I’m sick of wasting my time with these people.

Experiencia negativa: I am sharing my review on behalf of my friend who just moved in there less than two weeks ago. There is no coax connection for internet, which is odd especially in this day and age. Even more weird because when he toured the place, there was internet connection. But nonetheless, no issue, spectrum came out and told us they can put one in with the ok from Matik. They would have to drill into the molding on the outside (no wires, pipes, etc would be affected) plus, looking around the building, OTHER PEOPLE HAD IT DONE. So we didn’t think it would be a big deal. As the newer generation is growing their families and internet is a booming market (working from home and such), you’d think this would increase their willingness to WANT to do this especially because it would increase their property value. At no extra cost to them. But my friend was rudely dismissed and told no instantly without hesitation. He even mentioned that other people had it done and they didn’t want to hear it. I am very displeased with their unwillingness to expand and grow… as my family and friends move here, I am making sure they do not rent from Matik especially because most of them work from home.

Experiencia negativa: If the average renter had 3x the $1000 a month you want for a studio apartment they would own a house. But nah keep buying single family homes, turning them into triplex’s and renting them out for $1000-$1200 a month.

Hello Dick. Unfortunately we do not own these properties and do not convert homes or determine if they are single family vs. triplexes. An owner comes to Matik with a property and requests management services of existing rentals. Owners choose the set criteria for the properties and we adhere to those requirements, many of whom require a renter to make 3x the monthly rent, which is pretty standard across the board between owners and management companies. We do appreciate the feedback, unfortunately this is not an area we control or have the ability to change.

Experiencia negativa: Landlord changed to Matik during the lease. Either the landlord or the management company (probably both) are have to be some of the most incompetent people I’ve done business with. First repair person (knowledgeable and nice) came in and recommended furnace to be replaced a certain way because of the previous problems, new contractors came in and replaced the furnace the same way as it was; likely to cause the same issues as before. The contractors, if you can even call them such, that come in for repairs seem to be amateurs, and the cheapest option possible. Cheap work shows!

Experiencia negativa: Terrible experience overall. Do not trust getting in involved with any property under their management. Update 2/8/24: I live in apartment 1204 at 220 Broadway Ave S and my experience with this company has been beyond disappointing. I cannot understand how people “in charge” on residential maintenance don’t care at all when it comes to residents concerns. My advise for any incoming resident is to find another property. The place is overpriced. In my case they didn’t even know the unit was initially furnished but they notified last minute and didn’t even change the monthly rent despite me bringing my own furniture. They were completely unreasonable asking me to pick up the apartment keys at their office when I arrived from the northeast coast with my luggage and no car because they couldn’t find a way to leave the keys somewhere in the building though there’s the hotel lobby on the second floor. All of the maintenance requests were never addressed until I contacted the management MONTHS after. Lastly, the neighbor on the 12th floors is terrible leaving garbage on her door as shown on the pictures. But this company does not care about residents well being AT ALL specially Mariah Vaugh whom I’ve been in contact throughout my lease. Do not get involved with this company. This is my advise.

We understand that an owner in the condo building is leaving trash by their door. We have reported this to the association management company each time you have reported it to us. Unfortunately, we do not manage the association nor the owner of this unit and have no authority to address directly. We have reported it to the proper managing agent. I am hopeful upon reflection that you will understand the frustration is misplaced, upholding a lease is standard for any management company, it is not unique to us. Experiencia negativa: Horrible Company. 1st time I went to see the property Smoke in the building caused Asthma attack and allergic reaction reaction from opening the door without stepping inside. They refuse to refund rent and deposit despite never moving in or accepting the move in checklist.

Hi Thomas. This home was held off the market for you for two months. You placed a holding fee on the home to take it off the market. You signed an agreement that stated you understood that because the home is being reserved for you, if you decide to cancel you would forfeit any money put down on the home. In regards to the smoke smell, we have never received a smoke smell complaint in this building, the previous tenant was not a smoker, we had the leasing agents walk the hallways to attempt to smell smoke and we had maintenance complete inspections in each unit. No one could smell smoke and there were no signs of any smoking upon inspection. We genuinely hope you found the home of your dreams and wish you all the best.

Experiencia negativa: I am a homeowner who has lived across the street from a matik managed house for years. When both apartments in this house were vacant, there was a squatter who entered the building through an unlocked window. It was after business hours so I contacted matik and informed them of said squatter. Matik’s response was to have me call the police instead of managing the property themselves. A few days later, the window was still open and the squatter was still there. I called and reminded them that property damage was imminent if no action was taken on their part. Even if the one squatter was removed, he was bringing friends to the party. Matik finally responded by temporarily barring the windows. Tenants eventually moved in and the bars were no longer needed. I am aware that I will get a snarky response. Once again, I am a homeowner who has never rented from matik. EDIT: No, Matik, I will not be contacting you to further waste my time. I look forward to never dealing with you again.

Experiencia negativa: I did not plan to detail why I gave Matik Management a one star review, but Tom Hill’s response has forced me to do so. Instead of staying neutral and resolving conflicts like a “professional” manager would do, Tom leads a bullying, unfair HOA Board with lies and illegal actions against us. He makes false claims about our little dog biting members of Tealstone. He invades our privacy by coming up to our front window and taking photos of an object on our kitchen table. He assists the Board in creating a new rule #12 which is a vague, subjective rule tagged with a large $500 fine. Then he proceeds to fine us illegally $4500 in nine days. Later he has to rescind the fines at the advice of his attorney, but adds his/HOA Board attorney’s fees to our ledger. He also participates in an effort to get a restraining order against my wife, by coercing our neighbor to file for one. The day we were served the Board had a party to celebrate and the only association member invited was our neighbor. We could hear Tom and a Board member coaching our neighbor during the zoom call hearing. The judge insinuated that the request was frivolous and denied it. Our fines are over $15,000 and now Tom and the Board have threatened to foreclose on our house. These fines and fees are illegal, but HOA Board’s have almost unlimited power when it comes to disagreements with members. It has been an emotional roller coaster being harassed and bullied by an unfair Board being advised by a bully manager. We asked them to agree to neutral mediation, but they refused. We have had to hire an attorney to protect us from their constant harassment. This is a brief explanation of the one star rating I gave to Matik Management. I have several additional examples of how poorly we have been treated by Tom and the Tealstone HOA Board, but I think you get my drift.

Matik Management is only enforcing the association rules and regulations, as instructed by the board, which I understand you are frustrated about.

Experiencia fantástica: They do repairs quickly and with quality The staff is very friendly and Knowledgeable. They pay the insurance and taxes and do all the paperwork so when it comes time for income tax it makes it easy. We decided to sell the property. We had it listed with 2 different realtors , they did not sell the property. We decided to have Matik sell the property. Tom was very creative and the property sold quickly for more money than we expected.We are very pleased overall with Matik.

The only management company in town that REQUIRES a $300 deposit to just apply for a location and then if you're approved but something happens and you aren't able to take the location they steal your $300. Recommend looking elsewhere for housing.

I am sorry you do not agree with the holding fee policy. It is not a hidden policy. You are required to sign a form stating you understand that if you cancel the application, the holding fee is non-refundable. It is fairly standard practice to put a holding deposit down on a property that you would like to be taken off the market. Which means, we are unable to offer the home to anyone else. I understand your situation changed, and you needed to cancel the application and that can be frustrating. We wish you the best.

Experiencia negativa: Do not be deceived by Matik. The first few months of your rental/lease will seem picture perfect, easy, and stress free (besides how filthy the property was when I moved in). After living in the place for a while, Matik will demonstrate in the end they are a company with little regard for the tenant (as can also be demonstrated by their unprofessional and combative responses to Google reviews). Upon notification two months prior to end of lease that I would not be renewing the lease, I was informed that there would be a couple showings a week. Sure - no problem. Matik’s definition of “a couple” seems to differ greatly from that of the average person. What began as truly a couple of showings a week turned into multiple showings almost every day for a couple weeks. I was trying to find someone to take over the last month of the lease, but if I had known they would be so inconsiderate I would not have asked to make that happen - the amount of showing was outrageous. If they scheduled a showing, they do not care if you have prior arrangements. I spoke to a Matik rep on the phone to let them know that a showing would not be possible the following day due to a prior commitment and her response very snippy was: “Well you should make it work.” Matik will have a really hard time believing one of their associates was snippy, but this can further be verified by reading other reviews. Finally, not being able to stand being disrupted every day every week all the time, I moved out with time remaining on the lease. Shockingly after moving out but still having paid the rent and still with time on the lease and not planning on relinquishing the property until the lease was up,Matik stopped contacting me about showings and would do them unannounced. This resulted in awkward moments where I would stop over to the property and encounter individuals who were trying to see the property or encounter the company and prospective tenants in the middle of a showing. I’m almost positive MN law requires 24 hrs notice or good faith effort to contact the tenant before showings. Save yourself headache, money, and time and do not rent from this company.

Experiencia negativa: Definitely not recommending this company ever. Our apartment flooded multiple times yet nobody helped us. The sink leaked from the previous renters yet nobody marked that and charged us for multiple things. It flooded every single heavy rain fall and we sent multiple emails out and photos yet nobody came to help nor check up on us. Multiple personal belongings were destroyed because of their negligence of the building. Everyone in our building can say that the landlord and workers suck and don’t respond. The only time they really cared was for money in their pockets. We even found a cereal box that the previous renters left beside the fridge but whoever”inspected” the apartment apparently didn’t find it. Did matik or the landlord replace any belongings? No. Definitely scammed us and wish we could give zero stars. Also our apartment had silverfish and highly likely has black mold from the heavy rainfall coming from the cracks of the building.

Experiencia negativa: I cannot reccomend this place. I complained for months about the lack of hot water in the triplex and the other units had complained for years yet their solution was to just turn up the old heater that did not have the capacity for one unit to take a shower let alone threee.

Experiencia negativa: Horrible management company. We have one month left of our lease and they started showing our property without a 24 hour notice. We were told that if we have a door shut, they would not open it. My husband placed a note on our bedroom door stating that he is working and on a conference call. The management company opened the door and he proceeded to point at his headset and computer and they still continued to talk. They also said that there would be one showing, but they had 2 back to back. Would never rent from them again and can’t wait to be gone.

Experiencia fantástica: I'm shocked by all the poor reviews Matik gets. I've had precisely the opposite experience those reviewers describe. The truth of the matter is, quite simply, I have never worked with a property management company that is as responsive, professional, courteous, and timely and punctual as Matik. Coleen is just incredible. I love how women-centric the company is. Whenever I need assistance with anything, they're right on top of it. My Rochester journey has seen me face down a lot of demons and Matik has been central to keeping me in a good home that has been directly supportive of my health and well-being. I love my apartment, I love my location, and I'm always reassured when I speak with Matik staff about something like getting a medical support animal addendum, which they couldn't be more accommodating about. And I love working with Stephanie from IHS on repair and maintenance issues. I do find Matik is super responsive when it comes to repairs. I can't recommend this group of fine young women enthusiastically enough to renters-- and I have to imagine that if you're a property owner you can't do better in Rochester than to have Matik administer your properties.

Experiencia negativa: DO NOT RENT HERE BY ANY MEANS!! My husband and I were straight up scammed by this company and they leased us a condemnable house. The electrical system was completely rusted, there were holes in the floors and walls, sharp rusty objects, broken glass, a caving foundation, and mold so pungent it made us gag. The city deemed it unlivable by sanity means alone outside of all the structural issues. Don’t let this happen to you!

They both made me feel so welcomed and taken care of in all circumstances. They go above and beyond for their clients. The maintenance team is as well wonderful. One time on a holiday, I didn’t have hot water and someone came out the very same day to fix it. That kind of service goes such a long way. I could go on and on with all of the amazing things about Matik but the overall experience I’ve had with the company is utterly remarkable. By far, the best rental company there is in Rochester! Experiencia negativa: Rented for over 5 years at the same property sent us a lease to renew ever year except for this year , so figured the owner might've wanted to sell found a place lease ends at the end of June but Matik wants us to pay for July as well. Bad place to rent from poor communication and bad management.

Experiencia negativa: If I could give this company no stars I would. I would not use this company to rent from. I rented a house that was filthy when I moved in along with a number of things that were not working and or broke. I moved out of the house 5 months later and they charged me for cleaning certain parts of the house when I left it 100% cleaner then it was when I moved out, also charging me for light bulbs that were supposedly burnt out. I'm sure Matik Management is going to comment and say that they are just following the renters stipulations on the contract which is fine, but why wasn't the house as clean as they wanted it and all the light bulbs working when I moved in to the house. Just saying!!

The report does show light bulbs and cleaning that needed to be done. We even gave you the opportunity to go back to the property to take care of those minor remaining items, which you declined. Someone had to be paid to go to the property to take care of those items, and you were billed for that. You received $7,866.02 out of an $8,000.00 deposit.

Experiencia negativa: Would give 0 stars if possible. I viewed a place for rent yesterday 2/18/2021. It was a nice place yes but no one bothered to tell me that you needed rental history. But I was told from Sharon when I viewed the place and from Stephanie on the phone that they do accept cosigners so I was gonna do that today while filling out an application just to be told from one of their other office workers that this company doesn't allow cosigners. I wasted my whole afternoon on this company for nothing. I would not recommend this company to anyone looking for a place!!!

I appreciate your feedback and perspective. I am sorry you felt as though you wasted your time. We manage for a wide range of owners who ultimately decide if they will require rental history or not. We do accept cosigners if there are minor credit blemishes but not for lack of rental history. Unless something is brought to our attention and a question is raised about the criteria, we assume potential residents qualify and anyone can schedule to view the home. I can, however, understand that this may lead to frustration, especially if this is your first time renting and you are not aware of what the typical criteria may be. We have not pre-screened previously as we believed it came across as impersonal and exclusive. I will, however, review our current procedure and implement the question of “would you like us to go over the qualifying criteria for this home?” when setting up a showing. Again, thank you for your feedback and the opportunity to improve our process and procedures.

Experiencia negativa: They aren’t very understanding with renters. I wouldn’t rent from this company. I didn’t know other management companies were better until I started working with others to rent a place :/ it sucks too because most of the time, people were nice. Their policies are not renter friendly, which is probably even more necessary (to be renter friendly) during these times. Maybe others will have a different experience. Better off working with JMC or Infinity. Update 2/10/21: Comment from company below states the house was on market and had scheduled showings, which is incorrect. I found an ad on Facebook to help someone end their lease sooner (May versus June); their was no scheduled showings yet since the house was not for rent yet until end of May. I never asked to take it off the market; it wasn’t in the market yet. Things happen; I understand there’s policies, but there was no understanding. I no longer could help the couple move out from their lease sooner. Unfortunately, I paid the penalty :/ It’s better to work with companies with a little more flexibility. This company is not one of them... During these times, every dollar counts. They don’t care for that. Policies are policies. Very impersonal. Their comment goes to show they don’t even know which client they are talking about. It’s probably a general response to any complaint.

We work very hard to be as understanding and fair as possible with all our residents. There are policies in place to ensure a fair exchange between owners and residents. Although I cannot confirm with the name given on the review, I assume this is about canceling an application. We had 4 showings scheduled to view this home. You were the first to see the home and stated you were interested. We let you know that there are 3 additional showings for later in the day. You asked us how you could apply for the property and take it off the market. We explained that if you completed the application and put a holding fee down, the other showings for the home would be canceled and no other applications would be accepted. After 9 days of the home being off the market, the application was rescinded. You can understand that this was a big loss to the owner, who took the property off the market and canceled the other showings and removed it from being advertised. It was explained at the time of application, that if the application was declined for any reason you would receive the holding fee back in full. However, if you decided to cancel the application you would forfeit the holding fee as the owner has lost valuable marketing time. We have all applicants sign a form stating they understand this prior to placing a holding fee on any property. It was a pleasure to work with you during this short time and we wish you all the best.

Update: Thank you for the update and clarifying the situation. Without a name on the review, I made some assumptions about the situation. Our current resident, who has a lease through the end of May, put the property on the market to hopefully find someone to take over their lease. You had submitted an application for the property and placed the holding fee, signing the same form as mentioned above. The same policy applies because the current resident had to take the property off the market. They have the same loss of time marketing as the situation above. The current residents received the forfeited holding fee to mitigate some of their loss.

Experiencia positiva: We discovered that the self clean function on the oven wouldn’t work. So I sent in a work request, and the tech was out a couple days later. Lo and behold, it’s time for a new oven! In spite of back orders and shipping difficulties, our new shiny oven arrived a few weeks later, actually ahead of schedule. It literally took the guys about eight minutes to install it. I barely had time to clean underneath! Thank you Matik.

Experiencia negativa: Poor management company that will scam you ANY chance they get. In particular when in the move out process. I would never rent from them again OR recommend them to my worst enemy. They'll cheat and rob you. I sent them a letter stating that I will take them to small claims court if they do not give me my security deposit, they're breaking the law to steal from people.

Experiencia fantástica: I started renting from a property managed by Matik right before the COVID pandemic really kicked off. When it did, Colleen was so helpful in making sure that I knew my options and helping me to get everything taken care of. When I needed to vacate my apartment early, she made sure that everything i needed was clear and easy to understand and followed up with me to ensure that everything was done so that not only could I break my lease in a timely matter, but also so they could get the apartment rented. I never felt like I was just $$$ to them, but that Colleen and everyone in the office truly valued me as a tenant They also worked very well with the owner, Steve, who was also a joy to work with and rent from. Had it not been for COVID I would still be.very happily in my apartment.

Experiencia negativa: Let me start off by saying this. Matik management has been sending multiple emails to us trying to get us to write a review. So here is mine. We rented through them for a year. During our move in inspection we found some things that needed fixing so the guy doing it said I would receive a call within a couple of days. Never received a call... So I called them and they basically said they have never received anything from our move in inspector... Which I got a report that I know they got as well saying what needed to be fixed. Anyways finally got that fixed. About a month later our sink started to leak. IT TOOK 6 MONTHS to get the sink fixed. The only reason they fixed it was cause I was going to withold rent and report them to housing authority. It also took 3 times for the maintenance guy to show up when he was scheduled. I'll never go through Matik again

Experiencia fantástica: Matik has been managing properties for me since July of 2017. Every mngt co will say they treat your property like their own, very few do. Matik is one of those few. Every question or concern I've had has been addressed within 24-48 hrs, and the work they've done has been exceptional. Probably the biggest advantage of working with them has been their approach to their own business. Many mngt companies will take on much more than they can handle. In doing so they will of course lose important things through the cracks. Matik has been very strategic and methodical in their growth and expansion. This has allowed, in my opinion, for the best service possible in any given phase of their growth. I've been very pleased with the working relationship I have with them, and this all stems from the high caliber individuals the owners happen to be. Leadership matters, and Matik's work is bearing this out every day.

I usually work with Cori and Colleen, who are both very professional and great about keeping me in loop about the issues with the condo that need my attention, without taking up too much of my time. The maintenance fee and work order charges are reasonable as well. Communication and follow-through has been usually very easy. Happy with the service!

Experiencia negativa: Do not rent from these people! They never respond, completely unprofessional, and you will never get your security deposit back! Had to file a small claims court case to get my deposit back! They have garbage properties, with a bunch of hoodlums living around you! I REPEAT DO NOT RENT FROM THESE JOKERS!!!

I am disappointed in this review as I believe it is unfounded. Please allow me to address each item in your review. I have reviewed each of the correspondence and response times to ensure we are meeting our own set standard and could not find one time we did not respond in under 24 hours: email received 10/2/19 10:54am, responded 10/2 11:07am; email received 10/2 11:17am, responded 10/2 12:13pm, email received 10/2 12:31pm, responded 1:15pm, emailed received 10/2 1:56pm, responded 2:02pm. Email received 2/27 6:48pm, responded 2/28 12:29am; email received 2/28 1:52pm, responded 2/28 3:34pm. Email received 3/16 7:49pm, responded 3/16 8:34pm. Email received 3/16 9:12pm, responded 3/17 9:31am. Email received Sunday 4/5 4:39pm, responded Mon 4/6 9:40am. Email received 5/26 11:11am, responded 5/26 11:14am, Email received 6/22 7:14pm, responded 6/23 9:38am. Email received 6/23 6:45pm, responded 6/24 at 10:52am. Email received 6/24 11:04am, responded 11:19am. As I review these response times, over half are within one hour and none are over 12 hours and in addition the 3 that are up to 12 hours are due to emails being received in the evening and the responses being completed the next morning. I would like to point out that on 5/26/20 you were happy with our services stating "thanks for everything" I do not know of any small claims court proceedings, however I am aware that you disagree with the amount of deposit you received. We have also explained that the charges listed were at the direction of the owner who prepped the home for a new tenant. We also notified you that we would review those charges on your behalf and if necessary advocate on your behalf to the owner for a larger refund. Matik does not receive the funds of your deposit, the owner does to pay for any repairs beyond normal wear and tear. We are currently in discussions with the owner as we just received your dispute the charges two days ago. I disagree that we have garbage properties and I believe you would agree as your intention was to move to another property of ours, however another application was submitted prior to yours and that property was no longer available. Prior to the last week, it seems as though you were very satisfied with Matik; I have personally had a handful of conversations with you during your residency that have always been pleasant and I believe we have tried to help with any questions or concerns you have had. I would ask that you give us the opportunity to research the charges submitted by the owner to either validate or invalidate. We have appreciated you as a tenant and wish you all the best.

Experiencia negativa: ZERO stars. Very unresponsibe and unprofessional. We've sent 2 emails and left a voicemail about a bird issue. According to Matiks response on other 1 star reviews their policy is as follows "Our response time goals are the same day if before 3pm, and if after 3pm the very next business day". It's been weeks since our emails and 2 full business days since our voicemail and we still have not recieved an email or phone call. Avoid doing business with this company at all costs.

I appreciate your feedback and opportunity to research the complaint. I do not show your name in our system but given we have only had one report on 4/30 of a bird nest, I believe I have narrowed this particular work order down to the correct one. One item to note is I believe this is a home owner association rather than a rental. On the rental side, we do strive to meet those timeframes listed in your review. For the home owner association it is slightly different only because we do not have authorization to complete maintenance requests without the approval of the board. So any requests are first sent to the board for approval and are not able to be started until then, this does occasionally cause a slight delay, however certainly not a 19 day delay. As I review I show that the initial work order came in on Thursday 4/30 and the call and 2nd request came in 5/15. I want to apologize that we missed the initial request submitted on April 30th, that is definately not typical. Although not an excuse, we were doing our best operating under very different conditions due to the stay at home order by the Governor. We were required to reduce staff down to the bare essential items and address only emergency maintenance items effective March 30th through May 15th. I see the 2nd request email came in on Friday, May 15th at 4:30pm and was responded to Friday, May 15th at 4:33pm. I show the bird's nest was removed and taken care of that Monday May 18th. I believe the delay in response was out of chartacter and due to unprecedented circumstances. In the future, we hope to receive another opportunity to show you what is typical of our service, and we will earn an updated review of 5 stars. We wish you all the best.
