Experiencia negativa: I’ve had a very frustrating experience with Uplift Property Management. They almost never answer their phone, and getting a response is extremely difficult. The only person I was successfully able to speak with was Jorge, and he truly did the best he could. He was helpful, professional, and the only reason this review is getting 1 star instead of 0. Unfortunately, the property manager, Stephen, has been completely unavailable. Every time I’ve asked to speak with him, I’m told he’s “in a meeting,” and he never returns calls. Lack of communication and accountability makes dealing with this company extremely frustrating. I hope they improve their responsiveness and customer service in the future.

Experiencia fantástica: Well I passed much time deciding where to live in beautiful san Diego. I visited El Cajon and was pleasantly surprised how this city has grown into a interesting place to live! The weather is enjoyable year round! Schools & Parks !! Shopping is everywhere! Ocean or mountains are short drives to play! After searching and visiting several places, I knew I found the perfect place to live when I met Lorraine, the resident manager at Pepper Creek Apartments ! The apartments are luxurious with modern appliances, including washer & dryer. You can pick a carport close to your unit that provides a pleasant stroll among the trees and plants, providing a feeling of being in nature! Oh, did I mention pool, spa & gym !!! Give Lorraine a call at Pepper Creek Apartments. I highly recommend this style of living at a affordable price !! Cheers

Experiencia positiva: On boarding was a smooth process to get into their system and unit got rented within the first month. I was first assigned to 1 account manager and then there was a shift and this was a confusing period which is the only reason this is not a 5 star. Once I was given a new account manager the communication was much clearer and has been great since.

Experiencia fantástica: Megan has provided superior service from screening tenants to coordinating with contractors and getting estimates, getting the lease signed with new tenants and renewing an existing lease while taking over the property management from another company. Uplift utilizes state of the art tools and services for landlords to view statements, lease agreements, move in photos and checklists and for tenants to make payments.

Experiencia fantástica: The new on-site manager for the Uplift property where I'm residing has flipped this place on its lid! IN A GOOD...NO, GREAT WAY! In my opinion it's all about the little things. Taylor seems to share this mindset as she has revamped things here and there from improvements to the contractors and cosmetic maintenance to the installation of fire alarms and BRAND NEW WASHERS in the laundry area along with updated flooring. I knew when she got here things were going to be very different based on her awesome communication, to which we were not previously accustom! The fact that email and text are being used to communicate important information instead of a piece of paper stuck to the door had me grinning from ear to ear with appreciation. She is a highly valued addition to where I call home and I'm so happy that she is here. All these little things just make me love being here more! Thank you Taylor.. thank you for every little thing that you have done and are doing.

Experiencia negativa: Prior to signing my lease renewal back in December I reached out to my landlord asking to remove a resident from my lease as they no longer will are living in the home. I was told there is a $500 fee to remove someone from a lease, when I asked for help waiving the fee as the individual no longer being in the home was due to a life changing event and out of our control. I was shut down. I attempted multiple times to reach upper management with my concerns however everytime I call Uplift I kept being transferred back directly to my own landlords voicemail. I have been given the run around for months and due to the lack of time to fully pursue this I have been stuck paying extra utilities and rent for someone that is no longer in the home. I love the area I live I don’t appreciate the poor treatment and lack of empathy, I do not feel “Uplifted”

Experiencia fantástica: My father has been a resident of Vista Bonita Apartments (Uplift Property Management) for about 5 years. I was very nervous about him living alone at his older age but I can't say enough good things about this place. The manager, Dawn Diaz, was always so attentive to my father's requests and any questions he had. The residents would come together to celebrate for some of the holidays, which was nice for him to get to know his neighbors. The location of the apartment, being directly on the golf course, also helped my father stay very active. It's time for him to be closer to family and he's having a hard time leaving this place he's called home. I highly recommend Vista Bonita, it's a great location, clean, and has an attentive manager.

Experiencia fantástica: Brianna, Tommy, and Chris have done an incredible job managing our property in Ramona, CA over the last three years. They helped us with a seamless transition with our first rental property. They prepared the property for rent with licensed, insured, and bonded contractors at a great price. They took pictures and generated the listing and identified, qualified and placed an incredible tenant. They manage all tenant inquiries, helped us to address a landscaping inquiry from the HOA at a great price, provide monthly statements, inform us if there is a holiday with a revised distribution date, and are on top of our 1099 making tax time a breeze. Brianna has been amazing to work with. She’s sharp, aware, proactive, takes care of business, and she cares. Overall, we have been very happy with Uplift Property Management and they have earned our business for years to come.

Experiencia negativa: Avoid Uplift – Incompetent, Unresponsive, & Mismanaged Property Management I would never recommend Uplift Property Management to any landlord looking for competent, reliable, or professional service. My experience with them has been nothing short of a nightmare, filled with delays, mismanagement, and complete lack of accountability. Key Issues I Experienced: 1. Took 3 Months to Fill a Vacancy • When my previous tenant moved out, I was told upfront that finding a new tenant would be quick. Instead, it took 3 months—2 of which were spent getting the property into turnaround condition. • They assured me someone was moving in by mid-November, but that was delayed until December 5th, which cost me extra mortgage payments I wasn’t expecting. 2. Mishandling of Funds & Late Rent Payments • They shorted my rental payments, claiming they had to wait for the security deposit to clear before covering the mortgage. • This resulted in me accruing a $110 late fee on my mortgage—a direct result of their mismanagement. • Instead of using the reserve funds I had specifically set up for maintenance expenses, they deducted those costs from my rental payments, making it harder to cover the mortgage. 3. Unauthorized & Questionable Charges • They paid for the previous tenant’s water bill ($1,700) using my funds, even though utilities should have been transferred to the tenant’s name. • The company’s excuse? A clerical error—but then they refused to take responsibility for recovering the funds. • They charged me for carpet cleaning and then charged me again for replacing the same carpet—so why clean something that was going to be ripped out? • They deducted a $319.60 property management fee for February, even though I had already ended my contract and they weren’t supposed to collect any further commissions. 4. Delayed & Inconsistent Communication • Any time I needed answers, I had to chase them down. Their responses were delayed by days, sometimes weeks. • Even simple requests—like confirming expenses, sending final disbursements, or answering maintenance questions—took far too long. 5. Failure to Handle Tenant Maintenance Issues Properly • My new tenant reported a potential termite infestation. Instead of handling the issue as part of their ongoing responsibility, Uplift washed their hands of it and said they couldn’t process new maintenance requests because I was offboarding. • They claimed there were no outstanding maintenance issues, but within days of my tenant moving in, I was notified of a broken AC and termite problems that had clearly existed before they left. 6. Failed to Send My Keys & Ignored Final Requests • After officially parting ways, I requested my property keys back—a basic responsibility of any property manager. They ignored my request multiple times, forcing me to follow up repeatedly. • The delays in returning the keys made it harder for me to manage the property effectively. Final Thoughts Uplift operates with zero accountability, poor communication, and a clear lack of concern for the landlords they are supposed to serve. They cost me unnecessary fees, wasted my time, and handled my property poorly. If you are considering hiring them, I highly encourage you to look elsewhere. Their lack of transparency and professionalism is exactly why I took over managing my own property. Avoid at all costs.

Experiencia fantástica: I bought my unit in 2020 and had to move after two years. My agent recommended uplift to me to help managing my unit rental and maintenance for a reasonable monthly fee. In the past three years I have been very satisfied with their services. They are experienced at finding good tenants, taking care of all the fixing and helping moving in of new appliances without extra charges. My property manager Megan Green is very nice, efficient, and knowledgeable. I do not have to worry about anything. Highly recommended.

Experiencia negativa: Be careful with Uplift processes where it is only benefiting themselves instead of the tenants or the owners. 1/ Communications can take days to get any response. Management is approved of this process hence their property manager does not have the need to get back to the tenants or the owners quickly even on urgent matters like fixing important items in the house. 2/ Uplift get the late fees instead of the owner and yet the owner still gets paid late if the tenants is late. Other providers will give the late fees to the owner as they have all of the financial risks. 3/ The owner gets paid on the 10th of each month which is very late where similar management provider will pay you on the first 3 days of the month. 4/ Uplift will make decisions in regards to the property/contract without any discussion with the owner. For example, they will allow the tenants to pay late consistently without any discussion with the owner since they get to keep the late fees. 5/ They can change your assigned property manager multiple times without any plan of transitions where you have open cases of issue to fix in the house and no body follow up to ensure it gets done. You won’t have a proper notification or intro from the new PM either. 6/ Uplift does not care about customer satisfaction either. We've addressed our concerns about the delayed communication and bad experience overall to management multiple times, no body check-in to see if they can help or apologize for the bad experience. They might get good reviews from folks that did not have any issue with the house or the tenant during their contract and could have filtered their bad reviews so I’m hoping my review get posted to alert property owners of what they could get into if they decide to work with Uplift.

Experiencia negativa: Extremely poor communication by the portfolio supervisor and her manager. We were getting more updates from the tenants themselves than from the Uplift team. No proactiveness, less than minimum required information provided via email such as who, what, when type of basics information. Rarely calling back on us, stating calls were given on their side, mentioning about leaving voicemails when none can be found on either my wife or my personal cell phones...

My initial call was with Dey who answered the phone and guided me and provided me information about the property I was interested in. They say customer service is dead but she answered every question I had and went above and beyond.

Experiencia negativa: If I could give zero stars I definitely would. Uplift Property management has by far the worst customer service and communication towards its tenants. We have the worst property manager and assistant manager. What’s the point of stating that all tenants are responsible of reporting any issues at the property if they are just going to ignore you and not do anything about it. For example, the lights on the outside of the building do not work at night and it’s been a year since they were notified, they allow squatters to stay in vacant units, if you report a maintenance issue inside your unit they will state that you are responsible for any repairs or plumbing issues, there’s only 1 washing machine and 1 dryer for the property and they do not work properly, etc. If you are planning on renting from 1041 Calla Ave, please save yourself the hassle and find a different property with a professional landlord. They definitely do not pay attention to this property or care for the tenants living here.

Experiencia fantástica: I have been a resident of Pepper Creek Apartments for 12 years. It is without doubt when I say that the current manager Laura De Leon is by far the best manager we've had while I've lived here. Laura is friendly, caring and kind. On the couple of occasions I had issues that needed to be resolved, Laura has never failed to come through in solving those issues. Experiencia fantástica: My friend and I have just moved into the Del Cerro Apartment complex and we have had a very smooth and enjoyable time settling in. The landlord, Pete, is a very friendly and professional landlord who made us feel comfortable renting from. He is east to get ahold of and has made sure we have all that we need for our living situation. Apartment complex itself is in wonderful condition and has nice features such as a pool and hot tub, as well as a grocery store and dining places walking distance away.

Experiencia fantástica: I’ve lived at Villa del Cerro Apartments for about 2 and a half years and I cant recommend it enough. Very clean, very safe, the neighbors are friendly but surprisingly quiet for how many units there are. The most important aspect for has been that the apartments are very well managed. The manager, Pete, has been amazing since day 1. I knew as soon as I spoke to him on the phone, when we were so exhausted from apartment hunting in San Diego, and Pete told me that someone had serendipitously just put in their 30 Day notice about 1/2 an hour before I called (!) that this was going to be our new home. I was so relieved that the leasing process was expeditious and that I’m able to have my sewrvice dog here by my side.w The places are well maintained and theres a pool and a jacuzzi and kids playing during their breaks from school. Theres also a communal BBQ and gym and 3 laundry facilities. Ive literally never tried to do laundry and found all the machines full. Theres always enough space for everyone to wash and dry and there are very very rarely any machines out of service. Each apartment has at least one assigned parking spot so that is very convenient and as far as public transportation goes, the 115 bus line comes up College Ave from SDSU and stops right in front of the Einsteins Bagels, immediately adjacent to the apartment buildings on the corner. The last, best feature of this area is the walkability! The neighborhood is fantastic for walks with several parks and fields within walking distance. There is a big natural food’s grocery store called Windmill farms that shares the same parking lot with the Del Cerro Apartments! I recall when we moved in, Pete told me that that he never leaves the immediate area! At the time, I thought i wouldn't be able to meet my needs in less than one square block worth of businesses but sure enough, I rarely leave now either!! Thanks Pete!! I would give 6 stars if I could!!

Experiencia negativa: Two stars for Oscar and Oscar alone, who was wonderful when we first we're moving across country when my husband was restationed. He was responsive, understanding and helpful. He was great and we're sorry he's not our point of contact any longer. My family has been renting from Uplift for over a year now and our experience since January has been difficult. Response time as a whole is VERY poor. Our rental unit was flooded in January and when expressing my concerns on repairs it would regularly take 10-12 days to get a response which was usually short with a promise of "more information to come" which I would then have to chase down another 10-12 days later. This goes for both emails and calls, so please don't think calling will help speed anything up for you. Myself and my infant son were also displaced from our home due to health, safety and habitability concerns caused by the flood and Uplift did nothing to help us out or accommodate us. We paid full rent to not live in a home for almost 2 months while they dried out and repaired one room. When we extended our lease (we're military and options that allow pets are hard to come by), they added on a new misleading "Resident Benefit Package" that is now tacking on an additional $45.95 per month. In their own words, " We understand not everyone will get the same amount of benefit from this package since it is all dependent on individual circumstances." For myself and my husband, this just means they are taking money out of our pockets and giving us nothing. We don't utilize ANY of the services, which may be hard to believe but it's 100% true. We don't need a credit boost , we live in a home not an apartment so they don't provide us HVAC filters, we're already moved in, so don't need their concierge service, we don't pay our rent late so we don't need late fee forgiveness, we don't need identity protection (we have it elsewhere) and we're not sure what other "Rewards" are supposedly included, but the greatest reward they could offer is my money back since it feels like stealing at this point since I am paying for a service I'm not getting. They offered to lower the fee since we have our own rental insurance, but I provided copies, uploaded the proof to the requested portal and STILL it's been 25 days and nothing in our portal reflects our now overpayment from May, credit owed in June and updated cost going forward. The last thing they offer is home buying assistance as part of this program. This is the biggest insult of all because while we are looking to buy, given the awful communication history, lack of empathy and general headaches from this company, why would we EVER want these folks helping us buy a home? The home is great, location and neighbors are wonderful but jeez, if you can avoid this rental company, you should.

Experiencia negativa: TENANT ALERT!!!!!!!!!!! Short/Long Version My family and I rented a house starting December 1st. We have been dealing with leaking water heater, toilets and sinks not draining, Fireplace not working, microwave not working. We have also been reporting a sewer/mildew problem. We are on our 3rd property manager BRITNEY in 3 months. Uplifts communication is almost non existent. It takes weeks/months of communication to get a response or somebody to repair. Multiple maintenance requests that go unanswered until you call management 30 times After thousands of text messages and emails, they may do their job. Uplift has denied water leaks, though the vendors say the opposite. Between Uplift/Vendor are coordinating together to keep from litigation. They've claimed that we had no leak from plumbing or sewer pipes yet they replaced every sewer and drain pipe. I have pictures and video of the same cracked pipes with Vendors admitting sewer leak and proper remedy. Uplift has denied and denied. The sewer issue has been reported and ongoing since the end on January. They know my mother with Stage iv Cancer can't be breathing this in an have taken ZERO effort to accommodate. Water shutoff with no notice for my Father in Law with a walker Took 4 months to have leaking water heater replaced. The vendors also abandoned the old water heater and box in our driveway for the past 3 1/2 weeks. Not one of the "PROFESSIONALS" sent owns a vacumn or are able to clean up after themselves. Uplift has marked multiple maintenance request completed yet work had even started. Uplift have gone past 30 days failing to fix major plumbing issues affecting out heath after near begging We requested 24hr legal notice to enter after numerous no shows or calls by Uplift and Vendors. VERY NEXT DAY UPLIFT HAF VENDOR ENTER AND MAKE REPAIRS WITHOUT 24 NOTICE OR CONSENT. Uplifts response was "they can't control vendors from showing up"........ That is exactly your job. After months of dealing with Uplift, sewer/mildew smell has made moving to this home an absolute nightmare... I advised rent wouldn't be paid until proper repairs have been made. They followed that up with a 3 Day Notice to pay or quit. We payed 1st month and almost $7500 deposit to move into a home that clearly wasn't HABITABLE. Between plumbing blockages, no kitchen sink for 2 weeks. A combine time of about 7 days of no water/sewer usage. They have refused to offer a rent credit knowing these things have made the home UNINHABITABLE....... IF NOTHING ELSE I HOPE AT LEAST THIS REVIEW SAVES A FEW FAMILY'S FROM UPLIFTS FAILURES AND ILLEGAL ACTIVITIES......... PLEASE READ ALL OTHER REVIEWS, I WISH I HAD.........
