Negative experience: I wrote a review on this company a few days ago. I was hoping they would take a look at their actions and make a change. But after being told that i could always transfer my application to another available unit, i was recent told that because of my previous review it seems i do not wish to work with them and they will not transfer my application to another unit. It seems that this is personally instead of business. I can only review my experience and this time this is mine. If you want someone to say something good about you then give them a reason to say it. They took my money and time that i cannot get back and wasted it. They purposely submitted my appointment with an error that they seen and we clarified which is what caused it to be denied. Then when i stand up for myself because of this frustrated situation they refuse to make it right or offer any other options just like "oh well". A review can be corrected but my money & time cannot. I am not going to play the race card but i did notice the other 2 tenants who did receive the 2 previous units i applied for and didnt get. Im just saying if you want good reviews then i suggest to do good business.

Negative experience: This company is terrible. It took a month to go through the application process, I had to keep calling and emailing the application lady to keep the process going. There was an issue with the application my husband put my eldest daughter on there who we confirmed doesnt leave with us and they refused to remove her from the application which in return made us lose the property. But before that during this month long application process we missed out on 2 other properties because the process took so long which could have only taken a day or a week at most. After all this is said and done they refused to remove my eldest daughter and did not refund us and even had no other options or opinions on what to do next. Just no empathy or consideration for people and their time or their situation. This company seems to just want to take people money and dont humanize the situation. Just dont care and are heartless. If you are in need you can not count on this company. I have been trying to get into one of their properties since August. And its November and now nothing. As hard as times are now people should be more caring because at any point and time it could be you or your family. And you better hope someone will sympathize with your situation.

Negative experience: Terribly dissatisfied. My mother worked with this company to find renters in Palmdale, her English is poor and trusted Jodie to manage the house. Two years later, I reviewed the reports and financial data, nothing was adding up. She dropped this company, was able to find renters within two weeks for $400 higher than Jodie told her market value and they kept telling my mom market is bad we don't have renters (mother had to pay 5 months out of pocket). We received the house in poor condition with many cosmetic damages from renters placed by rent source. This place does not do honest business.

Negative experience: Stay away from this company, I am a property owner and I decided to sign with them but everything is fine until you sign. After you sign, the friendliness and respect disappear, they do expensive maintenance work, and if you don't inspect the work yourself, you'll never realize that they don't even do all the work they charge you for and detail on the work order. and if you question something you only receive excuses and lies. I will never sign with them again. Believe me, I have not had a single good experience with them, every time I talk to them it is a very bad experience due to communication.

Negative experience: do not go through rent source, they will take your money for a deposit and never run your credit!! They take your money, don't run your credit and they never reach out to you letting you know if you were approved or not! It's a scam! I'm literally about to be on the streets because I waited for NANCY to call me back regarding a unit and she never did, she told me I would know something by the end of the day and that was WEEKS ago. Please learn from my mistakes

Negative experience: Unfortunately, I kept getting two different stories about the process of renting a townhouse. I had to go to the office and get it cleared up.

Negative experience: Watch out for your deposit and their flimsy reasons for keeping any of it. Don't take their word for anything, get all of their requirements for both move in and move out ahead of time. Sketchy!

Negative experience: Yes. 3 weeks ago, my application was approved, and I am going to moving in the unit on yesterday. The pictures was taken at the 1st sight of visit, and knowing the air-con is so critical in the coming hot days. Your staff can verify the pic taken on July 05, 2023. "Same day service" or "24 hrs response"? I reported there is no cool air from outlet in the 1st day moving, The HVAC vendor was cheduled 2-4pm, then self-postponded 3-5pm without notification. After pushed and pressured, came at 4pm, air compressor not running, changed the parts, charging up the cold gas, working fine so far. We think the property management should do better job, easy the tenant's worry, so you provide the "residence benefit package". As tenant, PAID extra $45/m plus the rent, that 's what we expected from your service team? or if I have certain medical condition, do you fufill the habitable living condition? Wish the feedback can improve your standard of service. The middle man can do better between Owner and Tenant! Thank you.

Negative experience: Have been calling, emailing for months to try to get some issues resolved amicably with the owner of the rental next door to me. Despite original promises to do what that can , now I simply get ignored.

Negative experience: This place is a scam. I don’t think they really have houses available. I think they just getting people application deposits. There was a place that had over 200 people seek interest in one place. So out of all the 200 applicants no one qualified? You know how much money they made just off applicants? Scam!!

Negative experience: I am a property owner who used rent source to rent out my 3 year old home (brand new construction). Our first agent was Kari, she found a tenant within 2 months and we were told the tenant was actually the daughter of a senior agent in the company and we should have no issues. Within a couple months she was not paying rent, I was not told about this until I asked, she did not have trash services signed up, was not paying water bills etc. Once this tenant left, our home was significantly damaged and we were out 2-3 months rent. The security deposit covered 1 month, and the rest of the damages/rent were never recovered. We were obviously upset and were told by Kevin (the broker of the agency) that rent source would go to small claims court/collections to recoup the monies lost. This NEVER happened. For months I would ask agents what was going on and the main response I would get was "well I'm unsure since I was not a part of that" (since we were assigned new property managers pretty frequently). She left while her lease was still active. At this time, we were being pressured to allow a baseball team to come in within 24 hours of this tenant vacating (I suspect this to be because the tenant was the daughter of an acquaintance so they wanted the home to be rented out ASAP so the ex-tenant would not be responsible for any more rent payments. We said no to the new tenants to move in within 24 hours because we wanted to be a proper inspection, etc. At that time I was told I could NOT say no to a tenant because it violated some family discrimination act. Luckily we stood our ground, but still the constant bullying and not feeling in control of your own property is not a good feeling. We rented out to a group of 4-5 people (it is a 6 bedroom house). The tenants have been in the home for about 3 years, they just moved out last month. In April I notified Melinda, new prop mgr, that we will no longer renew any leases and wanted our home back. The lease ended in June, I had heard nothing so I assumed the tenants were vacating. I sent another email just to check in and make sure they were leaving, to which Melinda responded that they wanted an extra month because they have not found another place. Again, you will notice that I was not notified of this until *I* followed up and asked. The communication is very poor with this company to their property owners. We decided to allow an extension of one month, at our move out inspection we had numerous findings. Within a couple of weeks, I get an email from Melinda that says "Please read the tenant dispute with the security deposit and let me know how you feel about it" lol. Literally this email from the tenant basically says rent source is overcharging for repairs and they do not want to pay it, also that the lease is fraudulent since it was never signed for a 1 month extension. I truly did not know how to respond because I just submitted a bill for the carpet and that bill was not disputed by the tenant. The tenant also threatened Melinda to go to small claims court. Melinda asked for pictures, which I sent her of the walk through (something she should have done more diligently). I just got my last invoice, and realized I was owed $600 for carpet and they gave me $501 because they had already released the deposit funds to the tenant and reimbursed the tenants an extra $99 due to their dispute. I did not have the screens replaced, and if Melinda had extra screens replaced or whatever, how is that my fault? Again, I was NOT informed of this. Even though it is $99 I ended up informing my attorney to reach out because I do not understand the logic of deducting from my payout because of their error and again, NO communication. You can find better management services that will get you a fair rent price and better communication.

Negative experience: Who ever, that is with the horrible customer service skills can't have a life. How is she able to keep her position and speak to people in such a degrading tone. I've had better conversations with a vicious K9 from LAPD!

Negative experience: I'm writing them a two star because they have a $45 renters benefit package which is not a benefit to renters at all when you total that up that's over $500 a year extra that you're just giving someone for stuff you don't even need. It should be an option if you need those things or think you would need them then you can purchase it for $45 a month but to just add this on and make people pay it because they're in need of a property to rent is not fair I think this is a way for rent source to make money off of people and I wonder if the landlords know that they're adding this $45 packaging making the renters pay it. I believe they're taking too long to get the properties rented because a lot of people don't want to pay this $45 a month for this renter's benefit package

Negative experience: A complete rip-off they will make stories about stuff that you don’t even need and charged every little thing they do, like $400 for repairing something that someone else will charge $150, so they outsource everything and add their comisión. Bad business.

Fantastic experience: In March of 2020 I signed up with RentSource to manage a single family home. Julie was great from the very beginning. Firstly, she helped me make the transition to Rent Source from another property manager. Secondly, our exiting tenant left the home in a rough and damaged state but Julie quickly took charge. Her and her team of contractors inspected the property right away and did all the necessary repairs to get the home repaired, cleaned and rentable again. We were in the midst of the pandemic when the home was ready for market & Julie not only secured excellent tenants for us but still managed to get us a great rent price too. She continues to be available and supportive to all our property and management needs.

Fantastic experience: We have had no problems getting our questions answered. The online service has proven to be efficient to pay rent, and all maintenance questions were addressed as soon as possible. We are very grateful to be able to have RentSource services at this time during Covid 19. Thank you to all staff for your assistance in carrying out all matters that concern the maintenance of the house, despite the risks we face at this time on both ends. All preventative measures have been taken to ensure we are healthy and at a safe distance when maintenance issues have arisen. The companies concerned have been most efficient to do the work, wear masks, practice social distancing, and keep themselves isolated where possible during the job. We are grateful to RentSource for their efforts to address our requests and ensure everyone is safe at this time.
