Fantastic experience: Mr cruz helped and educated me durning an maintenance call. One of my complaints was My dryer was full of water which explained why none of my clothes were drying. He had the patience to run the cycle three times And showed me why i was experiencing my problem with the water building up. Through it all Mr. Cruz knows a lot about these appliances. And I should start reading the instruction manual. lol

He is incredibly helpful, attentive, and approachable, and it really makes a difference in day-to-day living here. Any time I’ve needed help, Lester has been quick to respond and follows through without delay. He doesn’t just address the issue at hand; he makes sure everything is fully resolved and that I’m satisfied before moving on. He obviously takes pride in his work and genuinely cares about maintaining the building and supporting residents. What stands out most is his professionalism and attitude. He’s always respectful, easy to communicate with, and patient when explaining things. Even in situations that could be frustrating, he remains calm, patient & keeps a great attitude. It’s rare to come across someone who is both efficient and personable, but Lester definitely is. His reliability and responsiveness provide a real sense of reassurance, knowing that any concerns will be handled properly and in a timely manner. Overall, Lester is a huge asset to the Gomes community, and his work does not go unnoticed. I truly appreciate everything he does.

Both consistently demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and strong attention to detail. My maintenance requests were handled quickly and efficiently, and the quality of their work is always excellent. Cruz and Lester are also approachable, communicate clearly, and go above and beyond. Their teamwork and dedication definitely make a noticeable difference in the overall environment and they both truly deserve recognition as top performers in our building maintenance.

Fantastic experience: Overall great experience here and definitely would consider staying in apartments run by them. Maintenance is always on top of things and friendly, I have to shout out Lester for being efficient and amazing at solving any problem. Fantastic experience: I want to give thanks to The Gomes Group for putting together events that bring the community together and give everyone a chance to participate. I had an amazing time at the Earth Day event. We planted flowers and painted on a mural, and it was such a meaningful experience. The staff was very friendly and professional. Mr. Cruz went out of his way to show us how to plant, and he took the time to explain everything clearly and patiently. Another staff member, Lester, also took the time to tell me more about the activity. Overall, the staff showed great kindness, communication, and professionalism. I truly appreciate the experience.

Fantastic experience: As a 50 plus year veteran in human resource development, I have extensive experience in the performance of individuals in the workforce. As my expectation is that every employee execute their job efficiently, professionally and ethically, I rarely see the need to comment on work performance. However, my interactions with Rebecca, Gomes Group resident services specialist commands high commendation for the delivery of sterling client relationship management and flawless customer service. She was unfailingly considerate, patient, responsive, resourceful, supportive and candid in addressing any concerns that I brought to her. Rebecca's professional stance is positioned head and shoulders above the fray. She's a keeper.

Fantastic experience: I would like to sincerely thank the apartment and the staff for their amazing service. I accidentally threw away my bracelet, and even though it was very late, Sandro, Lester, Rebecca kindly helped me open the trash room door and look for it immediately. I truly appreciate their patience, professionalism, and kindness. This apartment is not just a place to live, it is a community with heart.

Negative experience: I’ve been renting from this management company for a while now and i’m not happy with the service they provide. They don’t consistently support tenants’ needs in my opinion. Right after moving in, staff is friendly and supportive, but after a couple of months I felt as if my calls were being ignored by the bldg management team. I know they constantly screen calls because they know who’s calling before they even answer the phone, they greet you by name before you say a thing. The bldg mgmt team Caio and Rebecca are praised by many. But based on my experience with them, I believe they are selective about whom they choose to provide good service to, I also think Rebecca is a bit rude and dismissive. Also, the apartment walls here are very thin in my opinion. I live next to a very noisy neighbor who is always loud at night and I have made several complaints.. I most likely will not be renewing my lease. The apartments are beautiful, but the service and the architecture sucks.

Fantastic experience: I recently moved into ones of Gomes building and I am thoroughly impressed. Aside from the beauty and care of the space which is immaculate by the way. The staff is chef kiss the leasing staff were very courteous and helpful from the beginning, I honestly felt like family. When move in day came I was introduced to the housing staff. Kyle did my inspection with me, he was patient and very knowledgeable. He explain to me some fundamentals about upkeep appliances in the apartment which I was very grateful for. When it was time to actually bring in my things, I met Rebecca. Rebecca is such a sweetheart everything from her voice to her deep desire to help. She made everything so smooth even help with the actual moving of things which I definitely needed. I am extremely happy and impressed with my experience thus far.

Negative experience: Can’t say anything bad about their properties other than they are managed by incompetent crooks. They have no communication amongst themselves. I was wrongfully charged multiple times and ended up having to pay legal fees. They provided me with the wrong information on my water bill because they handle that directly with the city. I ended making payments of someone’s account because they told me it was mine, despite me telling them the account was under another name. One of the many “property managers” also told their maintenance team my unit was vacant and they proceeded to open my door while I was sitting there. Nothing was ever done about it. I also confirmed I would not be renewing my lease with them and recorded it. Now they’re trying to send me to collections for 2 months of rent when I was not living in the property. Do your research and you’ll see they’ve done this to multiple people before

Fantastic experience: Rebecca was such a help. This building doesn’t have elevators however Rebecca went out the way to help me carry a package upstairs because I had to many items. It’s the little things that make agents like Rebecca stand out. Thank you so much Rebecca. An overdue recognition to Eddie, When I was looking for a new place a year ago, Eddie’s help was enormous. He made the process a little less tedious as a new tenant and everyday I thank God for his life and for the help he offered me when I searching.

Fantastic experience: I truly enjoyed living here—this place was my home for two years. The management team was always kind and helpful, and Caio was especially great at answering all of my questions. I wish I could have stayed longer, but relocating for work to another state was inevitable.

Fantastic experience: I’ve recently moved into one of their apartments and it was such a good experience and an easy process, thankfully! I met with Eddie on my first visit, he gave me a tour of one of the buildings and he was very thorough and friendly.. it was very impressive! Will, was friendly and responsive via phone. …In addition, all questions were answered clearly by each staff member, and the application process was easy and fast. Upon moving in, I met Caio, he explained and showed me how to use the apps and also patiently answered my questions. The friendly service and efficient communication made the entire process stress-free. Such lovely staff!! UPDATE: 9.15.25- The maintenance team Cruz and Felipe responded to a maintenance request in my apartment today and they both went above beyond..!! Thank you ALL for a great experience! ☺️

Fantastic experience: I just want to take a moment to give Rebecca her flowers. I was scheduled to move into my new apartment on Sept 2nd since I couldn’t make the original Aug 31st date due to all the move in appointment slots being filled. I was also told I could not move in on the Sept 1st because it is a holiday. Out of the blue, Rebecca gave me a call on Aug 30 letting me know I could actually move in at 9 am September 1. The only issue was that I had to be at work at iFLY in Paramus by 8:30am, so the only way it would work was if I could get my keys by 7:30am—well outside of normal office hours. I could hear her hesitation at first, but she could also hear the excitement and desperation in my voice. Without me even having to push, she decided to make the exception and meet me earlier, just to make my life a little easier and allow me to move in sooner. That small act of kindness meant the world to me. I work in a job where reviews and customer feedback are everything, so I know how important it is to recognize people who go above and beyond. After an 11-hour shift, I wanted to take the time to write this because Rebecca truly deserves the recognition. Fantastic experience: The room is great! And the manager is very professional and he can handle everything!

Positive experience: Caio is the best! He responds quickly and even comes out to help on his days off if he can! Caio gets 5 stars! I gave 4 stars because the building on Astor has no outdoor space for the tenants to use and we are in a really bad neighborhood. As someone who loves taking walks and outdoors period, it’s very unfortunate that I have to travel to different parts of the city if I want to go outside and feel safe.

Fantastic experience: Really recommend Caio when needing matters to be addressed and updated. He is very responsive and prompt with communication. He has a personality and does not treat you like a number. Additional, Rebecca is also a great contact person as well. Negative experience: Forced the best coffee shop in Newark (KANELA) to vacate with one month notice. No warning, no reason. Gomes destroyed a beloved neighborhood space without a second thought. Disappointing, short sighted and shameful, its absence will leave a real void in the area. Decisions like this signal loud and clear: community doesn’t matter here. If you’re wondering why Newark struggles to keep vibrant, walkable communities, look at landlords like Gomes.

Fantastic experience: I really enjoy living in this building. The apartment interiors are well-designed, with a modern and comfortable feel. The building and common areas are always clean, which I really appreciate. The maintenance and cleaning staff are consistently friendly, helpful, and quick to respond. It also feels like a nice community—perfect if you’re looking for a place to truly feel at home.

Fantastic experience: I had a maintenance emergency in my apartment after hours and thought no one would be able to come. I called Residence Services and spoke to Rebecca who ensured me she would try to get someone to come up to my apartment even though it was after-hours. A few minutes later, I heard a knock at my door and it was Rebecca herself with a ladder! She went above and beyond to make sure the issue was taken care of even if that meant she would have to do it herself! THANK YOU SO MUCH, REBECCA!!!
