Negative experience: I had a problem with my HOA dues autopay and tried during business hours to call their published numbers for help. Was left on hold for 45 min before I gave up.

Negative experience: (1 star only because zero is not an option) Associa NNJ's management of our HOA was so deficient that the board terminated their contract and transferred to another property management company effective July 1, 2025. My wife and I are still dealing with the consequences of their failures. WATER DAMAGE AND MOLD In November 2023, we reported a water leak in our ceiling to Associa NNJ. Despite multiple attempts to contact their Community Manager over the following months, the issue went unaddressed. Their vendor did not arrive until July 2024, eight months after the initial report. The vendor performed demolition without legally required asbestos testing. They permanently destroyed our radiant heating system, which cannot be replaced under current building codes. They left live electrical power connected to the damaged heating system for over four months, creating a fire hazard. They abandoned our unit with walls exposed to the studs, a dismantled kitchen, and flooring removed down to the cement. Toxic black mold was subsequently discovered. My wife is immunocompromised. She has experienced documented health impacts requiring ongoing medical treatment as a direct result of prolonged exposure to these conditions. The estimated cost to restore our unit is nearly $50,000. This matter remains unresolved. We are still living with the consequences of their negligence. MISAPPLIED PAYMENT After Associa NNJ was terminated, they cashed my check for almost $3,000 that should have been transferred to the new property management company. They acknowledged in writing that the funds were "misapplied to another account by mistake." Despite numerous phone calls, multiple emails, and an in-person visit to their office, their Client Accounting Specialist and Director of Client Accounting failed to return the funds. They cited "board queues" and "internal approval processes" as justification for the continued delay. They only paid after being served with a demand letter from our attorneys. To be clear: this company left us with a fire hazard, toxic mold, documented health impacts, a demolished unit, and then attempted to keep our money. Avoid this company. - Eric Brittain

Negative experience: ⭐☆☆☆☆ | Very Dissatisfied with Associa / N.N. Jaeschke I am extremely disappointed with Associa and the management provided by N.N. Jaeschke. Our HOA dues are being increased to $445 per month starting in 2026, which is an excessive and unjustified increase. I am not aware of any comparable HOA in San Diego experiencing an increase anywhere near this amount. Our community services are very limited, primarily consisting of basic landscaping. At this rate, the HOA will collect approximately $160,200 per year, yet there has been no clear, transparent explanation of where this money is being allocated. The value provided does not come close to justifying these costs. Communication and financial transparency have been poor, and residents have not been given reasonable justification for such a significant increase. Based on the services received, monthly dues should be closer to $250, not $445. Due to the lack of accountability and value, I do not have confidence in this management company and would strongly support replacing Associa with a more responsible and transparent HOA management firm. I would not recommend this company to communities seeking fair pricing, transparency, and effective management.

Negative experience: As a consumer, you have to love doing business with a company who will take your money but wont answer phone calls or emails. I am very upset because I got a bill from a new HOA after I paid dues to this one. I have called to be left on hold for 30 mins plus and emailed to receive zero response. So I guess they want to keep my $300 - do not use this company. I confirmed, they took my money but the new HOA is no better because even though I confirmed the transaction, they wont honor it either so I'm out of money. They took over for the previous HOA, hiked the fees and did nothing. The people only cleaned certain sides of the property, no repairs. You can never get anyone to resolve issues they have. My next email is going to the Better Business Bureau. I am past upset I haven't received my money back.

Negative experience: They have been extremely disappointing to work with. During a recent emergency, I followed their hotline process exactly, yet they failed to respond appropriately, ignored my explanations, and never returned promised calls. Their communication was dismissive and unprofessional, and they even gave false information instead of taking responsibility. Because of their delays, I was forced to hire my own contractors at additional expense. This company shows little accountability and cannot be relied upon in urgent situations. I would not recommend them to any community seeking competent management.

Negative experience: The roof of my patio was torn off almost 2 years ago by a contractor NNJ hired on behalf of my HOA. The pic is posted here of my patio roof; it’s been like that for almost 2 years. Because the electrical wires and light fixture are exposed, the patio light has been flickering for almost two years. Also, I called them 2 days ago to report a clog in the sewage drain pipe that’s the HOA’s responsibility to fix, supposedly my issue was entered as “high priority.” The call center rep had a terrible attitude when I called to check on the status. Update: they finally got back to me 3 full days after having reported a backed up kitchen sink that was supposedly flagged as “high priority,” and resolved the problem the next afternoon. It has been about a month since they left the response below saying they would “look into” the ceiling of my patio (still looks exactly as it does in that pic, wires are still exposed on the light and it still flickers which is a danger to me and my guests). Also including a pic of a broken umbrella on the community pool patio. For the ridiculous amount owners pay the HOA per month we should have all new, luxury patio furniture. These ppl can’t even be bothered to replace an umbrella that prob costs 50 bucks. NNJ still hasn’t addressed my 2 years of dangerous, exposed wiring and lack of a patio ceiling even tho a rep commented here that they would. Meanwhile, they found time/effort to work on an esthetic project in the unit next store. This is the WORST property mgmt company. It’s unfortunate that my HOA decided to contract with this company to manage my communities HOA.

Negative experience: I've been at a NN Jaeschke managed property since 2019 and its been a mixed bag when it comes to my experience with them.With that said, our latest property manager--Savannah Dupin--has been the best I've had the chance to work with. Since she's become our property manager, we've had consistent support and the response time between her, and our board has vastly improved. In the time we've worked with her we have been able to deal with issues in the community promptly and follow-up on those that have been delayed with our previous two property managers. If we can keep her on our team, this rating will move up an extra star when I update my review!

Negative experience: Poor communication: The NN Jaeschke San Diego branch is slow or unresponsive to calls or emails, and fail to address Encinitas Villa tenant concerns promptly. Meeting notices, agendas and other required communication are not posted on the property in a timely and consistent manner. Hidden fees: This company lures you in with low advertised fees, then surprises you with additional charges for essential services like HOA documents, meeting minutes and other owner and buyer transaction fees. Neglecting property maintenance: Failure to address repairs, maintain landscaping, and deal with homeowner and tenant complaints about property conditions. I highly recommend against using NN Jaeschke a property management company. UPDATE: I followed up on the management request below to contact them directly by email. No meaningful response, typical nonsense.

Negative experience: *update* I was told my request had been approved back in April, but there had been no follow up (for over 3 months). Nice to finally get this resolved and have the funds returned. If I was not persistent in chasing this down, they would have sat on this until it became forgotten about. This took multiple phone calls, emails, and 3 in-person visits to their office to finally get addressed. Had a mainline issue outside of our unit. Was told that the HOA association had to be the one to make the call for the plumber. The team from N.N Jaeschke ignored our requests for 3 days (phone calls, emails, Town Square App request) so I took it on my self and footed the bill for an after hours call so we could utilize our water again. We reduced usage immensely for 3 days (showers, laundry, flushing toilets) and it was getting out of hand. This was March of 2025. I immediately filed a request for reimbursement using their instructions, and used the approved plumbing service as instructed. It is now approaching August of 2025. Almost 5 months in - I have been ghosted on multiple email follow ups, phone calls and now in person visits to their office on Waples. Just to get a an answer on the reimbursement request. No follow up, no replies - zip. Nothing at all from them other than "case has been made". At this stage it is no longer about the reimbursement. They are showing an utter lack of care and customer service for residents of their managed community who pay their HOA fees every month.

Fantastic experience: I have lived at Seahaus La Jolla condos off and on for 15 years, 7 as an Owner. Cody Phillips joined our community as the property manager about a year ago. Cody is by far the best manager this property has had. His knowledge, personality and energy has really made a difference here. Fantastic experience: HOA's often receive bad reviews, this is not one! HOA Managers have a tough job, enforcing rules homeowners approve for themselves. Yasmine Johnson at Cielo executes her duties in a highly professional manner, and never forgets she is dealing with humans, often during highly charged situations. I have submitted multiple requests over the past six months, and not a single one has received a actionable response. The lack of communication and accountability is unacceptable. We can only get through to a call center and each time get told someone will call us back but nobody does. Unacceptable service levels.

Fantastic experience: SANIBELLE has been my home since December 1999. From 2008 through 2019 I spent between 7 and 10 months each year in Colorado. Coming home to a beautiful and safe complex was a delight. Since 2020 I have been here every day. I have been treated with courtesy and respect from everyone @ NNJ (Jaeschke). Most recently Gina Falcon-Heneghan has been our go-to person for getting things done. And getting it done, she has. It's easy to understand why it takes everyone's involvement to keep up the standards in a community. Parking, Gardens, Parks, Pool, Security, Lighting, Painting, Trash collection and 'rules' covering each of these (and many more). The owners and tenants have responsibilities as well. Pick up after your dog(s), abide by the rules, monitor your children or animals from uprooting or breaking plants, park ONLY in your designated (assigned) spaces, treat the community property with respect. Thank you, Gina for all you do in maintaining 'our property'. And thanks to the painters, gardeners, plumbers, groundskeepers, security patrols who take pride in keeping OUR property in good condition. Thanks to you all.

Negative experience: Wow. I have never met as incompetent a management company as NNJ. Their representatives are an ever rotating set of poorly trained, rude, unhelpful reps. Here are a set of cases their reps went after home owners for: - Want to fix your broken garage door? You need an architecture review and get signatures from all your neighbors even if it’s just a repair - Want to install a very basic light? Be expected to be ghosted you for 180 days and then accuse you of not following the rules - Someone saw a car driving “over” the speed limit? You need to monitor every car that passed your house or you’ll be fined for the speeding violation. Oh sorry, no proof of speeding. On the other hand: - Cars being stolen from your gated community? Sorry, can’t do anything about that. - Person harassing and cussing out children? Nope, sorry we don’t handle that. - Patio structure violates building codes and safety? Totally fine in our eyes - People secretively entering other’s backyards? Ah, that’s not a problem. In particular, it is unclear why Jesus Chavez ever chose this profession. He has hung up on those asking for help, actively harassed members, and clearly is not good at his job. When safety issues were pointed out to him, Jesus said that’s “not my concern”. So BEWARE. If your community is managed by NNJ, expect your HOA dues to go up and service, security, and safety of your community to sharply tank.

Negative experience: Worst HOA I have ever dealt with. It’s almost like they are clueless. Our maintenance person was out so instead of hiring another service during his weeks long absence they just let our home look like a slum. Our elevators have not been inspected in 2 years even though there was a crash years ago. The elevators are dangerous and have not been inspected. I have lived here not even a year and I wish I never bought here.

Negative experience: I have been reaching out to the Concord square HOA management for a letter requesting about the owners responsibility for work in the unit, so that I can send it to insurance claim. They have been taking months to share me the letter. This is so frustrating. I have been calling them everyday, they mentioned that they made the ticket as high priority as haven’t received a letter even after more than a month. I have even reached out to community manager and director by email and phone, they never respond or respond after one month that they are looking into it. I have waiting for the letters from 3 months. I am not able to use the kitchen in the unit for 3 months and they still don’t respond. This is the worst HOA management. I wish I could talk to higher management, but they always mention that it has been escalated. I am very depressed to have them as HOA management. I have reached out to them through phone, email and all possible means. NO USE WITH THIS HOA MANAGEMENT.

Negative experience: I am a board member. This company is quite frankly the worst organization, top down. We e gone to the directors and to the CEO. Still nothing. In the meantime, our elevators, building alarm, sparklers, and repair work doesn’t even get bids for the jobs to be done. When they do bid the jobs, they do so inaccurately. We’ve had 4 managers in 3 years. After the first manager, no one has done anything. What’s worse, they don’t care. The organization appears to be falling apart at the seems. I wish I could give them a -100 star rating. My disgust, dissatisfaction, and stress are through the roof. I suggest anyone looking avoid this company.

Negative experience: I am a board member at our association. We have had 8 different community managers since 2021. In that time we had maybe 2 good ones. We admittedly have some challenges at our association, but this kind of customer experience makes an already difficult task even harder. Negative experience: ASSOCIA IS TERRIBLE!!!! They don't communicate with our HOA. They don't answer emails. The manager assigned to us has changed mulitple times and they take too long to respond. We haven't had an HOA meeting in 2 months and we don't know who our community laiason is. The one we had quit and Associa did not send anyone to take his place. We are very frustrated and all we get is an email from the office gal that they will let us know next month when they're available for meetings in the future. In the meantime out of pocket expenses aren't being reimbursed. Associa is very disappointing. We will fire them as soon as possible. DO NOT USE ASSOCIA!!!!

Negative experience: I owned a rental property in a project managed by NNJ. When they took over, HOA fees rose steeply, with no discernable difference in common area management. Worse yet, when I sold my unit, I noticed that I had been double charged on my HOA fee, so I contacted my representative to get a refund. That was on May 13, 2024. After countless emails and phone calls, most of which went without a response, I finally got my refund check on September 17, 2024, over FOUR MONTHS LATER. So glad never to have to deal with them again.

Fantastic experience: Gina is so thoughtful and kind. I accidentally erred by proceeding with improvements that were not approved. She was both professional and understanding and walked me through the proper procedures. Negative experience: Before I add this review, I have been calling/emailing to follow up with NNJ customer service team for 3 months to get a working fob to access tennis court and swimming pool (I paid $100 for the fob purchase, but it was never working). Really disappointed about slow progress.

Negative experience: The worst, most unresponsive HOA. They are completely unsure of their own rules and are quick to say “owner issue”. I’ve gone through multiple fights with them to PROVE it is covered by HOA. I spend $650 a month in HOA dues to read rules for them and beg them to fix things for my condo. This time a roof leak in my attic space has completely warped and gone through my ceiling…. Somehow this is “owner issue, call a plumber”

Negative experience: Would give zero stars if I could. This management company states that they provide exceptional care and yet we have spent months trying to get something figured out. We have done all the forms of communication from HOA meetings to town square. Even in town square when we had asked for a call our issue would just be “closed.” If you call, no one. The residents in my community are so exhausted by the lack of communication that our HOA meetings run over just so they can be heard yet still nothing changes. This is disheartening to trust them and to feel so left in the dark.

Negative experience: I have been calling, emailing for 5 plus months in regards to our Greenspace that is maintained and funded by my neighbors and I. We have had broken rusty benches that have been laying around with sharp and dangerous corners for all that come in contact. This company seems fraudulent. No one here advocates for this neighborhood or gets things done.

Negative experience: Since Kayla left, I have received zero responses to any of my email communications. They are the worst communicators out of all 3 HOA's we have had in 16 years. *** We are on our 3rd HOA management firm in 2 years. I reached out to Kayla, our new community manager, to request guest parking permits. She prepared and emailed them to me quickly. This was a wonderful contrast to the 2 previous companies which insisted on mailing the permits… one of them even required certified mail! For a temporary guest parking permit?! Thank you Kayla for making this so easy!

Negative experience: The worst managment company ever. No way to contact anyone for immediate issues and not one response from them for months. They do not provide minutes of HOA meetins. they do not respond to maintenance or public records requests, the phone number is a voicemail and no live humans. The close issues without ever doing anything or responding. They ignore the law and just ignore owners. All the reps assigned to our community only lasted a day or two and then we were told "No longer with the company." What a rip off. Do not ever hire this company.

Negative experience: wishing i could leave 0 stars. I’m not sure anyone actually works here. i’ve often gone multiple months without a response via townsq, email and phone. I’ve experienced multiple leaks from the roof and they have never been repaired. instead somehow to them the logical explanation was to cut holes and staple a tarp on the roof creating staple holes across my ceiling and craters of open wall/roof. it has almost been a year and still no repairs

Fantastic experience: Account managers matter. Leah has been unbelievable. Through the fallout of COVID and changes we were forced to make, our association had 3 years of frustration. Owners spoke up and demanded performance. NNJ blessed us with a wonderful account manager. We are back to making progress.

Negative experience: Review from an owner of a condo from HOA(Coral Ridge) managed by NNJ in SD(if I could give 0 stars to them I would do): Without the full knowledge of why the HOA board picked up this company four years ago, I have noticed some issues: 1. The communication channels between NNJ and HOA members are set in a way to make every request, from little tasks to more complicated ones, bureaucratically expensive in terms of time and lack diligence; 2. The high turnover of HOA managers over the past years can be a red flag; 3. Miscommunication between the management team and HOA members, e.g., generating notifications to the wrong members; 4. Lack of diligence and no reasonable follow-up in the resolution of requests: it's common to have requests opened for 1yr+ and no monitoring from the TowSq app made available to HOA members(crickets); 5. 90% of the time, when reaching the management team, we are prompted by canned responses; 6. Lack of proactivity; Conclusion: Hard company to work with with canned short responses, no proper diligence, and evasive. In essence it shares the same from most of big companies: excess of bureaucracy in detriment of practicality and quality of service. P.S.: even if this review receives another canned response from NNJ asking to reach them to "solve the problem", I am sure it won't get in anything else different. This is a holistic company issue first and foremost that should be figured out internally with them. Facts are here.

Fantastic experience: Dana Hopkins Mendes, Community Association Manager, with NN Jaeske is fantastic! I was navigating a difficult insurance issue due to water damage. My insurance company denied my claim after having an adjustor come out and providing thorough documentation. However after one phone call with Dana, the problem was resolved and they assumed fill liability and paid out 100% of my claim. Dana communicated promptly with me throughout the process and went over and above the call of duty to help resolve the issue with the insurance company. She is an absolute pleasure to work with and "knows her stuff." She was able to work magic to resolve my situation.

Fantastic experience: Leah and Jessica have done an amazing job turning our experience around with NN Janske. They are both professional and extremely prompt in immediate action items. Jessica posts notifications at lightening speed, immediately hops on follow-ups on projects and is an overall joy to work with. Leah has been great explaining budget issues and things that need to take more priority over others. She is also wonderful to work with. They both keep us updated on action items and have been staying super organized with everything. We are very happy that we are assigned to their team and they have been taking great care of our account!

Negative experience: Just like our last terrible management company these guys just don't know what they are doing. Misrepresentation at it's finest. Sheyla knows our president is breaking the law by not turning over records which he sahould have done when teh contract was signed. Sheyla our property manager does't even send out meeting notices. Stupidty at it's finest. As a board member (treasurer), I have requested financial documents, as such are my rights per our bylaws CC&Rs and teh Davis Stirling Act. My requests have been denied. As a homeowner and board member, my rights along with other homeowners are being violated and this garbage of a company just sits there and collects the money we pay them for not doing their job. Eli and Heather should be assamed on how their employees conduct business.

Negative experience: Horrible communication. They don’t respond to emails. The person that works the front desk refers you to call a number but it always goes to voicemail. They never return your calls. They ask you to submit payment for HOA fees on time but they don’t focus on residence problems at properties they manage. I would give zero stars if I could. My dad has been calling back to back for the past four days regarding water, leaks, and damage to our flooring due to a huge tree next to our house that is growing under our foundation. Today we still have no response. And no action has been taken. It’s been two weeks.

Negative experience: I reported a leaking pipe in the guest suite on January 25th. It was not addressed until February 5th, which resulted in a collapsed ceiling and additional damage. Whenever we have needed them, they have not answered the phone or the calls, even in tight time frames. The turnover is constant. It is an incompetent mess. Run, don't walk. Run. Update: I created a maintenance request to ask them to check the adjacent areas to the place where a pipe was leaking. They had time to respond here and to reach out to try to give excuses, but they ignored that request for six days. Of course there was damage (a pipe had been pouring down the wall for 10 days). Now it is worse for having sat there for an additional six. They don't just do a bad job, they do a negligent one. Beware.
