Negative experience: Beautiful property. I was told credit score wasn't a requirement to apply, only credit history twice by the leasing agent. I applied and got denied. I was told me credit score was too low. I look on the requirement, it doesnt even list credit score. Just upsetting

Negative experience: **UPDATE 1/31/26: Another winter, my heat went out, they sent someone out immediately! Thankfully, however, it’s been so cold my pipes have frozen. I have been without water for 11 days now, with no urgency. I have 3 kids in the home. Just don’t rent from Grant & Main. While the PM company may be fine, the houses are not livable. Find another PM company. TJ & the maintenance crew are awesome, but Grant & Main is your typical Detroit slumlord. Expect to be treated like a dollar for the investor, not as a human living in your home. **UPDATE 12/12/24: Although the first few months were crazy, I will say that the team worked hard to get the situation resolved. I had a pleasant experience with Jennifer, Stacey, and Chris. They all were extremely helpful and kind while we got through the situation. I appreciate their hard work and dedication to getting my heat fixed.** Signed my lease at the end of September. A fire broke out due to flooring and a boiler early October. It is now the first week of December, no heat, 3 children. Don’t rent from them.

Regarding the water issues, we are aware that you had some heat/piping issues this winter due to the extremely frigid temperatures and your house being on a crawl. You have been a great tenant and we know you just renewed your lease. We did speak to the owner and he agreed to give you a rent credit to help accommodate for the issues you had over the winter. Negative experience: Terrible management company horrible experience dishonest do not trust them to do proper business past the initial move in. Awful housing conditions roaches, leaks, unsafe and unsanitary conditions that are ignored. Visited a relative at one of their properties regularly and saw first hand but can’t figure out how to upload the photos I took of the huge roaches in hallways and laundry room, leaks and holes/ moldy areas. People who don’t live there hang out on the stoop and in halls even peeing inside the building. parking gate is paid for! and traps you in the lot. There are honest landlords who care for their property and how their tenants live. These people are not them. Stay away. was just able to add photos of the no trespass signs yet stolen opened packages in nooks in the building as it is not secured as the signs say. lights remain on even though circuit is off? the property never fixed this issue after a water leak from above. Able to upload photos of the roaches seen in August 2025 as well.

Negative experience: We had a confirmed appointment to tour this property and were not informed it would be a group showing. When we arrived, there were several other parties waiting to view the home. This was a poor use of our time and could have been avoided with clearer communication. We chose not to tour the property as a result. Future renters may want to confirm whether showings are private or group in advance.

You are correct, we do not provide private tours and all showings are group showings if there are multiple people interested but we do cap the number of groups we take per tour so we can still provide individualized attention to each group. Negative experience: Looking to rent ?? DONT look here ! Terrible management and staff . They don’t respond to their tenants who pay a pretty penny I’ve contacted them several times trying to get anyone other than the receptionist to talk to me , they won’t ! The elevators are always out on Glynn ct . I’ve been a tenant before Grant and Main came along ,unfortunately I’ve seen the property decline. Save yourself the headache don’t do it !

Fantastic experience: I want to give a Thank You to Grant & Main! My Daughter, who is a resident, had a car accident that landed her in the hospital for 9 days. The managers/staff, Aaron and Sarah were very caring and understanding. They went out of their way to make sure that my Daughter's rescue cat had food and water during the time she was in the hospital. They continued to check on my Daughter's well-being once she got out of the hospital to make sure that she was alright and even quickly fixed a fuse issue that occurred in her apartment. As a Mom, it makes me feel good to know that my Daughter is in a place where management actually cares about their residents. Thanks again!

Negative experience: I’m currently a tenant, Ive literally been begging for a washer and dryer line hook up for 2 months!! after they said they would make sure to put the line up for me to hook up my washer and dryer. I’ve been reaching out for 2 MONTHS STRAIGHT so they could come out and hook up the lining. maintenance request, text messages and calls NO ANSWER back not even an update! I spent $500 on my washer and dryer and it’s literally just sitting in the basement. But my neighbor’s washer and dryer is hooked up. I’m just wondering what’s the issue getting my stuff! VERY UNPROFESSIONAL PROPERTY MANAGEMENT!

You have lived in your property, a duplex, since March of this year. Incidentally, your home has always had one washer/dryer hookup. It was this way when your toured it, when you moved in, and the six months prior to you asking for a second hookup to be installed. Laundry has always been shared and this has never been an issue until you started having a social/personal issue with the other tenant of the duplex, who has also lived there since April.

We did communicate with you as recently as yesterday, which I assume prompted this review/response, and advised you that we were working on pricing out a second hookup. However, this is subject to owner approval and we cannot guarantee that this is something that will be approved. Your response, was to post a negative review and threaten to call your housing agency.

As we have already communicated, we will do everything in our power to get you an additional laundry hookup but we need time to review with the owner first.

Negative experience: If I could give them a Negative 5 stars I would. I was referred to them by Antoine Martels Flip System because supposedly they were properly vetted. I’m a newly out of state investor who they totally took advantage of. They were in charge of the rehab which was a grade C at best. I flew to Detroit to look at the property and at first glance it seemed ok but I’m new into real estate and didn’t really know what to look for. They “Managed” my Duplex for about 9-10 months and never got a renter for any unit. Not only that but I had to pay another contractor to go out and fix things that should’ve been done during the rehab. After I fired Grant & Main, My property coincidentally got broken into and my water heater and furnace were ripped out and stolen amongst other damages. Unfortunately I didn’t have cameras then but I do now. I’m told I’m not the only out of state owner that got scammed by Grant & Main. If there ever happens to be a Class Action Lawsuit, I’ll be more than happy to join it.

Hi George, I fear you will be waiting a long time as despite your claims, you are the only negative client review (current or former) that we have ever received. I can only imagine which disgruntled former employee prompted you to write it, after us not having worked together for over eight months.

The only truth to your above claims is that you did fly into town and walk your property post rehab and you expressed how happy you are with it. As someone who works in the construction industry yourself, we assumed you would know what to look for.

Regarding the leasing of your home, you were adamant about price and only wanting section 8 tenants for a long time. Once we finally got you to start moving away from this methodology, we did in fact find a tenant for you and you turned them away as you stated you wanted to turn the property into a sober living home.

Regarding your insinuations about theft & scamming, they are not only untrue but defamatory in nature. I would assume your property likely was broken into due to you carelessly leaving your HVAC installed despite our continued warnings that theft of HVAC in Detroit is VERY common.

Negative experience: Absolutely horrible. Maintenance requests never addressed in a timely manner or not addressed at all. Took them almost a year to fix my bathroom sink. I had no AC for the entire summer (still not fixed in October) with my apartment reaching almost 90 degrees. I had to pay for a window unit. Now my heat is not working and I have had no response. Also my window leaks every time it rains causing mold to grow in the wall. I will never rent from them again.

Negative experience: Absolutely terrible company to rent from. I’ve been in my property for almost 5 years now and will not be renewing after Grant & Main took over. I’ve had plumbing issues for 5 weeks and they refuse to come out and handle it with the excuse of “I can’t get ahold of the home owner” Wouldn’t they be the next owner in line if they can’t get ahold of the owner? I have multiple pipes leaking in the basement (unsanitary) all over my personal belongings. The utility sink pipes constantly break off so I can’t do laundry. Now every time I call to see what the timeline is on a fix, magically no one can answer the phone. This isn’t the first time I’ve had issues with them. Would not recommend this company at all.

Negative experience: So I started renting a unit at 709 hazelwood in January, and I’m quite literally paying over $800 for a studio w bed bugs and no real plumbing , they have problems with the water every month. Not only that, your water runs orange and you have to let it run for about 5 minutes before it runs clear ….not only that the washers and dryers barely work. Not only that it’s April goin on may and I still haven’t been able to have my WiFi installed because they swear up and down it can’t be ran in my unit….all because the dummy tenant below me refuses entry….like how is that fair when the people below me cut MY WiFi cable….they don’t do anything to accommodate their tenants either. Specifically Aaron in the office doesn’t like to do his job . I’ve had like 5 WiFi people come out to try and install my WiFi and due to him either not informing tenant they can’t block the cable box or would need access, it’s been a bust every single time. I genuinely hate grant and main and I can’t wait for my lease to be over. I will NEVER recommend their properties to anyone! Cause they then wouldn’t even let me move to a different unit when all these issues and problem first started happening. This place ain’t even worth my weekly paycheck let alone $835 !!! Update they just illegally towed my car out of the parking lot after I just paid and pay every month to park there! Idc im suing !!!! I’ve been paying on time for 8 months straight, after all this time yall wanna send a tow to come take my car? Okay bet watch this! Yall gone reimburse me for EVERY PENNY Currently my attorney has reached out and it looks like they want this to go to court. After all the suffering and problems they have caused me, they’ll definitely be paying me out. All over a parking sticker…notice they respond to everyone else’s comments except mine cause they know it’s true. DO NOT RENT W THEM
