They were patient as we worked through what we wanted in a home, and helped us look at many, many houses all throughout Detroit. She demonstrated professionalism in every aspect: As a realtor, she showed patience, and knowledge relative to me and the entire sales process, and the relieved me the initial stress that I felt, when she first spoke with me. She walked me thru the process and advised me in every aspect of the Owner/Sell Process. Ms. Walters is a very thorough realtor, as stated earlier, poised and knowledgeable. She made me feel very comfortable with the process, and I felt assured and confident in her ability. The ongoing communication, and information that she provided further assured me of her ability. Fantastic experience: My agent at the Loft Warehhouse, Susan Leithauser-Yee, was an excellent broker. Patient, super knowledgable, and gracious with me even when I was feeling frustrated or feisty. She knew the Detroit market well and helped us to understand the available housing stock and real estate market trends. As a former banker, she's very well versed in the various processes around buying a home. As a first-time home buyer, I appreciated having someone who was data-driven and knew her stuff and could basically hold my hand and patiently walk me through each step. I also feel she was very responsive and went the extra mile to make sure I felt comfortable with things, or address my concerns. I will say that as a first-time home buyer, or any home buyer, it's a big decision and you don't have a crystal ball, so it's nerve wracking. No matter how much research you do, it feels like all the other parties involved know the game better than you do, because they do it for a living -- and they don't have as much skin in the game as you, because they're not the ones plunking down their life savings! So it's always good to keep your eyes wide open, ask questions, advocate for yourself, and push for what you want. In that regard, I felt listened to by Susan and well represented.

Fantastic experience: Can't recommend Meagan Masterson highly enough. Buying a house from out of town can be nerve-wracking to say the least. And as first time home buyers, we had a lot to learn. Meg held our hand every step of the way. She has been patient, communicative, and yes, emotionally supportive too. She takes great photos and videos, has an eye for details, and knows what she's doing. She even helped us find a mortgage lender that would work with our specific situation and saved us a bunch of money! Very professional and a pleasure to work with, 100/10 would work with her again in a heartbeat.

Fantastic experience: I can’t speak highly enough of Lionel and the experience I had with him through the house buying process. He was very attentive, helpful, and receptive to all my needs. Moreover, I never felt rushed or pressured to settled on anything that wasn’t exactly right for me. He provided insightful advice throughout, and was a great advocate for me when dealing with inspections and the like. He went above and beyond when we faced a last minute mold issue in the basement, and was also just very pleasant to deal with overall. The space in the Loft Warehouse, which is in a great spot in Eastern Market, was also very inviting for the few times we had to meet up there for paperwork. I would absolutely recommend working with Lionel for any of your real estate needs.

Negative experience: I responded to an ad about a condo for lease in a high rise downtown and Meagan contacted me very quickly. I immediately loved the building and the unit. If I’m being honest, she was not immediately warm and friendly like most realtors but she did warm up throughout that day. Not only did we see the condo that I wanted to see but she showed me several more available for lease in that building so I could compare and decide which one better met my needs. When I left, I requested an application because I knew that’s where I wanted to live. It happened that quickly! My search was over! Up to that point, I would give my experience with Berkshire Hathaway four stars. The website was great, each listing had lots of pictures, and there was a great deal of information about each property. It would have been five stars had Meagan not initially seemed so cold and unfriendly and had she been able to answer all of my questions about the condo building as we toured. Things went downhill from there, hence the two stars. I finally received the application (that took a reminder), Meagan would neglect to call or text back. I’d be waiting for her to send something to me and she wouldn’t so after DAYS I’d have to remind her again. At one point I was waiting for her to email the lease and the addendum but she only sent the addendum. She kept referring to something in the lease that made no sense to me because I’d never seen it! I’d request that she ask the owner a couple of questions and she’d only ask one of the questions so back and forth we’d go. I’d text or email her something and get no response so I’d have to ask if she received it. The communication was absolutely terrible. After everything was said and done, she said I needed to get DTE in my name by a certain date. No problem. I tried and had no luck in the app which makes no sense because I it should have been a breeze to change the electrical over to my name at the condo. After being frustrated for days I received a text from Meagan asking if I’d taken care of the electrical. I told her I was having trouble getting the app to accept the address and I’d reached out to DTE. That’s when she said she was sorry because she’d “forgotten” to tell me not to use the address of the condo but to use a different address for DTE. What??? Once she gave me that address to use of course it worked and problem solved but again, I cannot describe my frustration. At one point I started to take it personally. After I presented an offer there was silence. I had to ask Meagan over and over again, where are we? What did the owner say? Is there a counter? At one point she told me my offer was not accepted BEFORE she’s heard from the owner!! How do I know? She must have forgotten she told me that because the very next day she told me she’s “finally” heard from the owner and he’d agreed to that offer. I was pleased so I didn’t pursue her obvious ethical/professional breach. Eventually, everything came together after a very lengthy and protracted process and it was time for me to receive keys. That did not go smoothly AT ALL but suffice it to say by that time Meagan knew I was not happy with my experience and her attitude at the property when she provided the keys made that clear. Her face was sour and there wasn’t a smile to be found. I understand that no one likes negative feedback but if you live long enough you will receive some. What you do with it determines what type of character you have and what type of professional you will ultimately become. By the way, real estate is one of those fields where word of mouth and mean everything. As soon as I left the condo I called my son who’ll be moving back home in May after graduating from Colombia Law (yay!). I sent him the link to your website and the name of the agent I was working with. He is looking to purchase in downtown, corktown, or midtown and since your website has homes for purchase in all of those areas I was excited for him. Unfortunately my experiences have taught me better and I won’t allow him to make that mistake.

Fantastic experience: I cannot even begin to express how happy I was to work with Gabriel Johnson from The Loft Warehouse. After having an absolute nightmare of a time working with property management companies to get rentals leased at my last property, working with Gabe was a breath of fresh air. From the beginning, he was transparent and collaborative in marketing and setting the right price. Throughout showings and screenings he remained communicative, optimistic and proactive. Compared to the 4 months it took a "top rated" PM to get our last property rented, Gabe had great tenant in in around 45 days! Will definitely be calling him when our next property is ready to lease!

Fantastic experience: We recently sold our home and Richard was our realtor! He was absolutely FANTASTIC! He was always professional, timely, patient, knowledgeable, and to put it plainly, he just got the job DONE! Within a week of our home going on the market, we had an offer of 20k over our selling price. Richard made sure to keep us updated of any changes, and contacted us every week just to stay in touch. We had a few obstacles to navigate, and Richard was on it every single time. He made necessary calls when they needed to be done, went out of his way to accommodate us, and made sure any questions we had were answered. This was our first time selling a home, and he never once made us feel like we weren’t important to him. Fantastic experience: You must absolutely use Durrall as your agent if you’re looking for someone professional, communicative, knowledgeable, and friendly!!!! We were first time home buyers and Durrall was patient throughout our long journey of seeing many homes and walking us through the details and intricate issues. Any time we had questions, he would answer immediately. He knows the Detroit area so well and found us our dream home within our budget. This is an extremely stressful process, but Durrall handled all of the stressful parts for us so we could truly enjoy the home buying process. After the tour Shane took it upon himself to setup a search portal with all our pre-requisites. Within a day we had more property options than we had after long weeks of research. The communication with Shane has been excellent and there was never a time we could not get ahold of him, which we found to be hard to find touring through other rental companies.
