Negative experience: EDIT: Moving my review from three stars to two stars. Company refuses to fix light fixture that is a part of the townhome's electrical wiring system. States that the tenant should perform it themselves or hire an electrician to do it at tenant's expense. I cited lease terms and Texas legal code and management to which they shrugged at and instead cited their lease terms that was beneficial to them. Why pay expensive rent (that theoretically includes maintenance) when the maintenance is inconsistent? Oh, by the way, the management stated that they inspected the wiring and found no issues--however, I have a ring camera facing my patio AND front porch and NO ONE has come. If you look at the past portion of my review down below, you can see that this isn't the first time that has happened. OH! And one person in management agreed that wiring should not be the tenant's responsibility (when has it ever been? this isn't a house, it's a rental property) so I should have it taken care of by maintenance; another person in management disagreed. Reminder that I moved into a rental property that violated Texas health code (cockroach infestation, cockroach feces, water leaks) and was given some pushback on trying to get it fixed!! That's how cautious you should be. MAIN POINT: IF YOU DO NOT WANT INCONSISTENT MAINTENANCE, FUSSY MANAGEMENT, INCONSISTENT PROMISES FROM THE RENTAL COMPANY--I REPEAT, DO NOT RENT HERE. AND FOR YOUR SAFETY, MAKE SURE TO TAKE PICTURES, TAKE VIDEOS, HAVE EVERYTHING WRITTEN DOWN BECAUSE SECURITY DEPOSIT REFUNDS ALSO SEEM TO BE A CONCERNING TREND IN THE REVIEWS. My review will drop down to 1 star if any portion of my security deposit is withheld, because I intend to leave the townhome exactly as it came, if not slightly better. A REMINDER FOR EVERYONE THAT TEXAS LAW STATES THAT LANDLORDS HAVE TO REFUND 3X THE SECURITY DEPOSIT THAT IS WRONGFULLY WITHHELD. CHECK TEXAS LEGAL CODE FOR MORE DETAILS AND KNOW YOUR RIGHTS!!! ****** I'm currently giving them three stars, but it may change upon move out. Giving three stars because the company seems a little disorganized. For example, they claimed that a maintenance order was completed at my residence when no one ever actually came to complete the order. I usually request to be in the presence of maintenance workers so there isn't miscommunication about the job, but no one ever came while I was home. We have a Ring camera, and so no one came when we weren't home either. Wasn't a big deal, we just put in another request. The place was not cared for prior to our move in. The backyard was atrocious, a lot of trash and overgrown plants. The actual unit had a myriad of cockroaches and cockroach feces because the previous tenant left the fridge open, and that caused leakage (roaches love water). The place was not clean upon move in, and when we tried getting it fixed/cleaned by Rent Now RGV, it took a bit of back and forth with the company to get things to a "decent" level. Honestly, I would have called the health department had it not been taken care of. I'll give Rent Now RGV credit for trying to make things right, but it should have been right in the first place. We will see how the process goes upon move out. Our security deposit being returned shouldn't be an issue being that the last tenant left the place a mess and it wasn't taken care of before we came. I have plenty of pictures on hand just in case there are questions. It's an okay company. Just make sure to take plenty of pictures and have records for your own legal grounding.

As outlined in the lease agreement, certain items may fall under tenant responsibility depending on the cause and nature of the issue. That said, we understand there may have been confusion, and we are always available to review any concerns again to ensure they are handled appropriately.

In terms of property condition at move-in, we regret that your experience did not meet expectations. As acknowledged, our team worked to address the concerns reported at that time and bring the unit to an acceptable condition. We continuously work to improve our turnover and inspection processes to prevent situations like this.

We also want to address the concern about maintenance visits. We do not mark work orders as completed without action being taken; however, in some cases, vendors may assess issues externally or there may be miscommunication regarding scheduling. We are happy to review any specific dates or requests with you directly.

Regarding the security deposit, all deposits are processed in full compliance with Texas Property Code. Deductions, if any, are clearly documented and only applied when applicable. We encourage all residents, as you mentioned, to document the condition of the property, as this helps ensure a smooth and transparent move-out process.

Negative experience: Extremely disappointed with this property management company. They initially cited fabricated issues such as ‘patching and repainting, sand and paint, professional trash pick up and professional painting,’ totaling almost $1800 of “repair work.” After being unable to provide proof for said repairs they began removing some charges. According to Texas Property Code, landlords must provide itemized deductions with receipts for actual work performed, which they failed to do. They have ignored multiple attempts at communication and provided zero evidence to justify withholding a portion of my deposit. This behavior is unethical and potentially illegal. I do not recommend renting from them.

As part of the required documentation, we provided pictures showing the damaged furniture and other issues that were taken into account. These deductions were based on the actual condition of the property at move-out and not on fabricated charges. It is important to note that the property was not returned in the same condition in which it was received, and no deductions were made for the excess water consumption caused by a leak while the property was under your care.

While we respect your right to share your opinion, your recent comments do not reflect the facts of the process. We followed the proper legal procedure, communicated with you, and provided the necessary evidence to support the deductions.

Negative experience: I was precious tenant at Rent Now RGV , A great tenant I paid my rent on time every month, spoke with Natalie over the phone I sent pictures of the apt to the number as requested by Natalie as asked for pictures because she claimed there was patchy paint she refused to send the photos to me charge me over 500 dollars from 800 security deposit and never received the rest in the mail and I don’t live in that state anymore as I stated to Natalie . when you call that dept no answer even after you leave a message, let’s not talk about the issues I had in the apartment , lived on fuerte ave , McAllen, I would absolutely not recommend rentnowRGV

Negative experience: Worst rental property we have ever dealt with the apartment was a mess moving in had issues from the beginning. Tried getting them to make repairs and would alway respond with they were our issues or the land lord had to provide my own washer/ dryer and stove it would not work. After we had sink problems, a roof leaking as well as rat and roach infestation that we were dealing with. They had work orders open that were never attended to no heat during winter outlets and switches not working got tired of fixing the issues so moved out asked a lawyer for advise. I suggest you stay away from these renters.

The unit was delivered in clean condition and free of pests at move-in, and we provide a 30-day pest guarantee as part of our standard practice.

Negative experience: Horrible services starting with there customer service I called in several tickets with leaking&mold issues they would tell me the rentors above had a leak but when maintenance came the roof was filled with mold , they sent the maintenance person to just stop the leaking and patch it up ,they did nothing about the mold , smell got worse throughout the months I had to go to the doctor for asthma issues but I believe the mold damaged me internally and caused worse lung conditions and Im currently seeing a pulmonologist and have moved out .please be careful renting with this company they do not maintain their units or care about their tenants

At that time, the issue was repaired, and there were no further service requests submitted regarding leaks or mold after that.

You renewed your lease and continued living at the property for nearly another year without reporting additional concerns. We take all maintenance requests seriously—especially those involving potential mold—and always work to resolve them promptly when brought to our attention.

In the months following the repair, we did send multiple certified letters regarding unpaid rent. Unfortunately, you moved out before the lease ended with a balance still owed.

Negative experience: Whatever you do, DO NOT rent with this company!! They make up false damages and claims so they can avoid giving you your deposit. Mind you, my husband and I left the apartment sparkly clean. Thankfully, we have evidence and videos of how clean we left the rental property. As the other girl has said on their reviews, “do not let these rental property companies scam you!!!” Take them to court if you have to! You work hard for your money and for them to just act like they are entitled to it is not right at all. AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS!!

Negative experience: The worst company to rent from. Requested maintenance on the 1st to have it for the 5th and the company used for the request didn’t have a clue about the request. This is just a request of many that took a while to fulfill

Negative experience: Ren now rgv will push all the landlord responsibilities on to the tenant. The realtora are pleasant , however maintenance has no empathy for it's tenants. Forcing us to clean up sewer water with feces , live in roach infestation and possible mold from flooding . All tickets on hold due to safety concerns , yet there was no preventive measures for the flooding of 02/27/25.

Negative experience: !!!!!LONG BUT PLEASE READ!!!!! TENANTS BEWARE!!!!! I recently moved out of an older apartment complex in Weslaco managed by Rent Now RGV after continuous plumbing issues due to old pipes and sediment build up. I lived there for two years, and I was a quiet tenant, paid my rent AHEAD of time, and didn't cause any damage to the apartment unit AT ALL. Before moving out, I made sure to clean as best as I could and leave everything exactly as it was when I moved in in the hopes of getting my security deposit of $500 back. Considering that it was an older complex, there were already a lot of pre-existing issues and damages that didn't really bother me much because, obviously, you get what you pay for (rent was affordable, I'll give them that). When I finally heard back from management about my deposit, TO MY SHOCK, not only did I receive notice that I was NOT going to be receiving my money back, but that I was also being charged an additional $520!!! For BS charges: -Patch and Paint - $450 -Stove plates, lightbulbs, water strips, doorstopper, & bedroom lock - $190 -Touch up trims, doors, frames, and vents - $300 -Professional cleaning - $80 Totaling: $1,020 This was complete and utter BS and ILLEGAL in Texas! Under Texas Property Code, Texas landlords CANNOT LEGALLY keep your deposit for normal wear and tear. They can ONLY keep your deposit for either breaching your lease or in the case of substantial damage, neglect, or abuse of the property. Normal wear and tear charges fall under the responsibility of the landlord NOT the tenant. Then, as if the charges weren't enough, it was implied that I had taken the stove plates from the unit because they were "missing." Luckily, I had proof and documentation that one of their employees was the last one in the unit after I had already moved out. I also experienced extreme unprofessionalism from a member of their maintenance team. After you submit maintenance tickets, a member of the maintenance team reaches out to you directly through WhatsApp, which means they have access to your contact information. This opens the door to potential unsolicited contact from these men. One of the maintenance members sent me weird text messages and phone calls literally between 2am and 4am. This was extremely uncomfortable and unsettling because this man had already been inside my home several times to fix plumbing issues, he knew that I lived alone, he knew the layout of my apartment, and he had potential access to the key as he was an employee of the company. I know they have access to keys because I had previously been asked if I would be okay with them entering while I wasn't home (Obviously NOT). As a woman, this is absolutely terrifying. I didn't report it until after I moved out for fear of retaliation. OVERALL, PLEASE ***DO NOT*** rent with Rent Now RGV! It is NOT worth it. If you do end up renting with them, or are already renting with them, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE be aware of your RIGHTS!!! ***Document EVERYTHING!!! - Take photos/videos of the apartment when you move IN and OUT. - Complete the walkthrough checklist CAREFULLY and keep a copy for yourselves. - Document EVERY maintenance issue and save the service requests. - Save ALL communications with property management and maintenance staff. -Remember that they **CANNOT** keep your deposit for NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR!! You CAN take them to court to dispute charges that do not align with Texas Property Code and they CAN be held liable to pay up to 3x the amount of your deposit as well as legal fees!! YOU ALSO HAVE THE RIGHT to request detailed invoices/ itemized lists of deductions. PLEASE PLEASE do your research on what counts as "normal wear and tear" for your protection!!! DO NOT LET THEM TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOU!!!! Remember that $500 is nothing to these landlords, they make so much money scamming so many people every single day. $500 to normal, honest, hard working people makes a difference. DO NOT let their immoral greed win. It's absolutely disgusting. Sickening. I did end up receiving my security deposit back, thankfully.

Negative experience: Honestly just run. I'll start off by saying I won't mention every single instance we've been disappointed by Rent Now because it would just be too much. I have held off writing a review for a while because I don't feel good exposing a business due to bad management and also in fear of retaliation, but we are very fed up and getting no answer from Rent Now, so I will mention a few. The apartments are superficially pretty but not well built ie. the fence is always falling, the cabinet doors are always coming loose and falling as well, leaks that last for years, bad yard maintenance our backyard is completely dry and full of ant piles, etc. That's not even the worst part and we could put up with this. But It's been several times the same neighbor reports us over their issues with other neighbors simply because they don't know who it is so they just continuously blame us for anything. It's been over a year that we've dealt with mistreatment from these neighbors and they continue to do so because Rent Now condones their behavior. When we've presented Rent Now with evidence of that same neighbor's violations, they do nothing about it saying it's not enough proof etc. 2 days ago Rent Now sent us a parking violation showing a photo of a vehicle that doesn't belong to us or any of our guests. I was getting my groceries down while it happened and I saw it was the same neighbor that we've continuously had problems with that was being blocked by the unknown vehicle. It took Rent Now less than an hour to email us a parking violation after that happened (which again the vehicle does not belong to us) but when we emailed and called them to dispute it they ignored and never got back to us and still haven't. It's been two days. This is very typical behavior of them. We don't feel safe or supported living here and honestly can't wait for our lease term to end. The pretty apartments are definitely not worth the emotional stress. The only time they've gotten back to us promptly is when it was time to sign our lease. Take your money elsewhere.

Regarding the violations, we always gave tenants the opportunity to explain their side and worked to find fair solutions. In the case of the parking complaint, we visited all tenants involved, made several site visits, and posted clear signs advising that blocked vehicles could be towed to prevent further conflict.

Negative experience: They took over the property management halfway into my lease. Upon leaving I left the apartment extremely clean, the only paint needed was where two tvs were mounted. I tried several times to get them to provide the paint color and type used so I could make my own repairs, but they refused to reply with that information. When it came down to my $1000 deposit they wanted to give me only $40 back claiming it was going to take $600 to repaint two spots on the walls. On top of that they threw in bogus charges for vents and doors and door stoppers that were missing, which all would have been in the same state as when I moved in. I’ve sent them images and disputed their estimate and they said they would get back to me ASAP. It has been more than two months and they are not replying to my repeated attempts to contact them.

Negative experience: This is the worst place! At first they are very attentive with you but after you sign the documents they are difficult to get ahold of. The portal to report maintenance issues sucks! The key for the mailbox was another issue I had with them, redirecting to the wrong places! Avoid renting with them if possible because my experience with them did not meet my expectations.

Negative experience: Ppl, please be cautious when renting from RGV Rent Now. They somehow are involved with professional scammers that will even will offer “self tour” they open the apts for you, even give you an electronic Fake Lease Agreement to later scam you..and block you .. I’m out of $1100k that was only the deposit to think I was gonna also pay 1st months rent it’s unbelievable what these ppl are doing to our RGV families.. This company isn’t taking responsibility as they should!!! Need these taking care I have all the receipts to prove I was scammed and out of cash and now home less to think I had found a great deal. Don’t fall for them! Report to the authorities will be perusing legal support.. unless I hear back from Company involved..

Negative experience: I moved into a duplex in March. Had to have microwave replaced because of rats. There were holes in the ac they never fixed. I called maintenance more times than i can count. Nothing was ever fixed. My son got sick that month. He turned yellow and got lover failure. Turns out he has hepatitis. He was perfectly healthy before moving into that home. In August i told rgv now to terminate my lease and return my deposit for these reasons. I was told I would get my deposit as long as house was in order. I paid people to clean and only left that house with 2 minor spots needing paint. And a doorknob and perhaps 2 sets of blinds i know were broken. I got a letter stating I would not get my deposit and I owe them over 500$ for cleaning, painting and replacing blinds. I would not be getting my 780$ deposit back. This company will make up reasons to keep your money. I left that house in the same state and was charged for issues that were already there. It does not cost 780 to replace 2 blinds, paint 2 patches and buy a door knob. I am reporting company to bbb and hud and am contacting legal aid because other than the issues I know i left with this place there's no reason to be billed and charged for a house that was already unclean and falling apart. This company is the definition of slumlord. All about the money and no concern for the tenants. Also they listed my son as my co signer instead of my brother who was on the lease with me so they dont even have their details correct. do not rent with these ppl. Do not rent 418 madison in harlingen. nothing but problems and your family will get sick. Also since moving, my son has gotten better. No one can tell me this house didnt cause my sons illness. if i could give 0 stars i would.

Negative experience: RAT INFESTED PROPERTIES!! This property management team does not help out or hear out the tenants. They lie to you and tell you “we understand your concerns/issues” and then do nothing. Once they know their is an issue the purposely give you false hope that they will call you back with more info but in reality they do that so you can buzz off and not bother them. The manager herself tries everything she can to not talk to the landlords or ask them for repairs that are needed. Negative experience: Worst experience ever as a tenant. They took 90% of my security deposit after I argued with them via emails. They wanted to charge me like $15 for batteries and some ridiculous amount for air filters I replaced myself throughout the whole lease. STAY AWAY as I will NEVER rent with them again.

Fantastic experience: I came here on my own terms to show appreciation of the staff, and how fast their customer service was. I believe they do their best to help every situation that is being taken in action, and do what they can to facilitate a smooth solution to reach a positive effect to both parties. Garett, was in fact on of the associates who helped me consistently on an issue i had with my rent payments. Very pleasant, understanding, compassionate and attentive. I believe you have to communicate properly, and comply with all the rules and agreements, to build a healthy professional relationship in order to reach a solution. Garett was able to do that, and I am very appreciative of him. Do not listen to bad reviews, make your own judgment, and remember that we’re all humans just doing our best. Overall, I have no complaints about their customer service, or the rental property. In all my years of leasing, this is the best experience i’ve had so far.

Negative experience: Worst experience as a tenant. They invade your privacy with 4 inspections per year like if they fix anything, or like if you’re here for free, or have their time, or like if you’re jobless. They don’t send actual licensed inspectors. They take pictures too which isn’t in the contract. How am I supposed to just let anyone in my home? No identification or anything. Very unprofessional! They send 3 rude women to do it instead of just one & they take all these pictures. How ridiculous, rude & disrespectful. I’m paying you. I’m not here for free, or at your mercy either. Nobody should be coming into my home especially when I have to be at work. Am I supposed to also lose a day of work now? Am I supposed to have strangers in my home while I’m at work? Aside of all that they don’t fix anything at all for almost a year nor bring in another washer if needed for months, so what’s the point? Maintenance doesn’t know anything & he was really rude to me like he doesn’t want to work. The girl that answers the phone is very rude as well like what? Terrible service! They act like they don’t want my $ or care about keeping a tenant which is stupid for business & investments. If you need to inspect more than once a yr you shouldn’t even rent like stay with it if you’re that worried. My money is good anywhere, so I’ll definitely be moving elsewhere. People, pls don’t make the mistake of moving in because you’ll regret it in every way possible. Pay & enjoy your new home elsewhere. I will too.

Negative experience: BEWARE! RentRGV took over the apartment complex I am currently living in nearly a year ago. They have lied and given the run around to pretty much every tenant. They do not return calls. They have absolutely terrible customer service. They will not take care of maintenance in a timely manner whatsoever. They have even worse communication among their own staff. I advise you report this company to the BBB. They are liars and thieves. They might as well be Ai with how little they care about their tenants!

Their pay portal for paying rent is complicated ridiculous we have been trying to pay our rent for a month now! Their pay portal keeps taking 25$ but never taking the full rent causing our account to be short when they do attempt again after taking 25$ first then they say it’s because our account didn’t have enough funds! Well of course it’s not going to if they keep taking small amounts before taking the rent I’m not going to keep replacing what they take when it’s their mess up! Negative experience: If I can give these people a zero I would. They got my car towed for no reason (no email or sign on vehicle) and gave me no prior notice of it being towed. Then , when I confronted them about it they claimed that they didn’t tow my car. Which is a lie. I’ve also given numerous request to get my refrigerator fixed formally through our renter portal and they never got it done ! I’m not even kidding it’s been four months.
