Fantastic experience: My initial contact with the Kerr Team was with Wally Kerr. Over the following weeks we spoke about our planned move from Redmond OR to the greater OKC area. When our home was eventually under contract I called Wally to see if he could be available to show us some pre-selected homes. The intent was to pick a home and make an offer within the 48 hrs we would be in OKC. I learned Wally was on a trip and that Jennifer Wilcox would meet with us to tour any homes we wanted to view. Over the next two days we toured homes & by the afternoon of the 2nd day we made an offer on a house in Shawnee & the offer was accepted prior to our flight back to OR. Over the next 10 days Jennifer ordered and coordinated many inspections including whole house, termite, pool, & roof. She was present for all of the inspections. Additionally she was actively asking our questions of the seller’s realtor and relaying the information back to us. Jennifer was clearly on top of all elements of the time sensitive aspects of the due diligence period allowed the buyer. We became uncomfortable with the lack of information we were provided regarding a $175,000 insurance claim filed by the seller following the 3/19/23 tornado that struck Shawnee. We subsequently cancelled the purchase. Jennifer had devoted many hours to scheduling the various inspections, doing the necessary follow-up & being present for each inspection. I know she was disappointed but her only comment was that she wanted only the best for us. Following that cancellation we began an active search for another property as we fully expected that we would need to make another trip to OKC in order to find the right house. We spotted a newly listed home in Edmond, looked at all the photos, & read the listing narrative & realized this was the house that met all of our expectations. We called Jennifer and asked if she could arrange to see the property & in our absence & do a walk through for us? Later that evening Jennifer included us on FaceTime as she toured the home. She saw nothing glaringly wrong with the property & we concluded that we would make a full list price offer that evening. Happily we were under contract the following afternoon. Once again Jennifer skillfully coordinated all the inspections for us. We can’t thank Jennifer enough for her wonderful assistance during this relocation process. We are considering purchase of an income property & we have already asked Jennifer to assist us. Negative experience: My fiance and I sold our home in Moore, Oklahoma with the Kerr Team (Wally was our realtor). First of all he pushed us to sell the house for less than I had anticipated. He realized he had made a mistake after it closed, admitting it to my fiance and I and it cost us close to $9,000. After we discussed it with him he made no attempt to try resolve it immediately. Wally knew my deceased parents house needed to be sold and offered to take some of what commission he would make, if my fiance and I allowed him to sell it which would of only covered a small portion of it leaving us still a huge amount to pay. I would never refer the Kerr Team to anyone thinking on selling their house. I would not want them to lose out on money because of his mistakes, or any of his team members. My fiance and i are still making payments due to his mistake, from my house which I sold October 2024. I recommend checking out other realtors as well. Response to the Kerr Team, Gee Wally, thanks for responding with a novel. On your commitment sheet you had both the buyer and I sign, everything written down including the A/C debt I owed. Then at closing, as you went over all the papers with me at the title company, you made the comment that "the numbers looked different" than what you expected, but continued having me sign the closing papers anyway. Amazing! Isn't this where "your 37 years of realtor experience" comes in? I would of thought a realtor with your experience would of investigated it. But no, you wanted to get it closed ASAP. I trusted you in good faith that you had this handled, since it was on the sheet again, you had both me and the buyer sign. The PRINCIPLE here is you made a mistake Wally, as I recall you said that on our telephone conversation in mid October, you also mentioned you would have to call me back. During a text conversation I specifically asked you "wasn't the A/C supposed to be paid off in the contract?" Your response was "pretty sure that happened. I'm away from the office. I'll check." It makes perfect sense as to why I didn't ask you to sell my deceased parents' house. Why would I want to risk another costly mistake? You wanted to use part of your commission to pay for your mistake if you sold the house. You wanted me to agree to fill out a tax form that would make sure you didn't have the amount you made from your commission on my deceased parents' house as income for you. That's if I allowed you to put it on the market and sell it. As of the text I got from one of your other team members, I was told I'd get a $10 Starbucks gift card to write a review. No thanks...keep it! Response to Wally, Wally we are not here to bicker with you back and forth. I was under the assumption the new buyer was going to remodel the house, therefore I tried to keep it at a very reasonable price. I am disappointed that you feel I was part of this issue, when you in reality are the one with 37 years of experience. I don't feel it's fair that you still put some blame on me, even though I have no expertise in the realty business. I trusted you when you had both me and the buyer sign the proposal sheet that specifically showed the $9000 on there? Yes, I'm disappointed that I made very little profit on my house. Happy selling.
