Landlord worked for him for 10+ years rented from for four years they find anything and everything to sue you for when you move out don’t rent from them. They don’t fix anything many problems I fixed on my own never got reimbursed for my time or materials that I put into their property.

Its a old house.I was told this house was sitting for about 2/3 years before i moved in{02/17/2024}. the manager by the name of laurie accommodated with love. we both toured the house before moving in. nice hard wood floor, arched walls and very roomy. { 2 bedroom} Of course the house needed some attention such as cleaning. little simple repairs. I received prompt maintenance service within a day or two. I now been living there for a week. So far so good. I have fixed it up to my liking and cozy style. I will recommend metro as to folks that's looking for a nice home, duplex even apartments. Laurie and her team is very polite, helpful, understanding. They tolerate me and i tolerate them.lol.

Experiencia positiva: Different answers given by different employees. I believe I was borderline discriminated against. None of my references were contacted nor my last 2 addresses (ie: mgmt). The property mgr wasn't too friendly. She seemed to have an agenda or just a bad attitude in general.
Experiencia negativa: So unprofessional! These guys are a walking violation. They have the windows in this house sealed shut and won't fix it, which is a fire hazard. They are very rude and do what they want. The internal temperature did not work and made the house burning hot all the time and I could not open a window. Almost had a heat stroke. Had to move out and when I left the landlord got mad because I didn't keep the utilities on like it was my problem to make sure the pipes don't freeze. If you have a choice move anywhere else.

Upon On Moving In Walls Was Never Painted, Tub Paint Was Peeling Off The First Week Always Put In Work Order For The Tub And No One Never Every Fixed It You Can Tell When We Moved In All They Did Was Get The Floor Cleaned. We Moved Out Two Years Ago October 2020 Cleaned The Home And Everything But Walls Was Wear Intear Like Any Home And Apartment Especially Living There Along Time They Still Charged For The Home And Took The Full Deposit Just Unprofessional, Inconsiderate Veryy Money Hungry #Small Claims

I personally do not recommend going through them nice properties yes management people no..!

I originally rented through eisaman first choice took over them for like threes months wasn’t aware of there contact with housing at the time this happened 2019 we in 2021 needless to say the lady Jena made it her business to make it seem like she would, help didnt have the balls to tell me over the phone that I got deny after I kept calling to see why the app was taken so long they sent a letter instead. These people stick together they don’t care if you right or not. Wouldn’t go off my current residence that along shows proof i never had this problem with leasing with no one wasted 20 on the app. I explained myself for no reason just to get a slap in the face

Now the infestation has made it's way into my mothers upper apartment and they told her they would be able to do anything until next week.. Thank you Metro. Worst service.

The next day, when I went to go look at the property I was informed that they had rented it to someone else. I was not informe. I gave up a different place because of this and now have nowhere to live. Do NOT trust this company.

Experiencia negativa: Poor quality of properties and poorly kept. The crew they use to maintain them is careless--painting windows shut etc. I had to move because of a death in the immediate family thus breaking the lease. Any judge would throw it out of court but a collection agency doesn't care about the circumstances leading to breaking a lease so metro came up with a number to remit and unleashed the wolves. I can't recommend doing business with them. The manager seemed harsh and completely business driven. I detected no empathy. She was short with her employees during the few periods I was in the office as well. I was in a bad position timing-wise when I signed the lease with them but I regret ignoring the red flag I saw from her demonstrably pushy and curt behavior.

Experiencia negativa: I would never go back to them even if they was the last property management on earth. They rented me a rat infested house and never did good repairs rushed and very bad quality. They will never give you any of your deposit back might as well forget about it and when you asked about your charges they will get mad even tho you left the house in a better state then when you moved in.
Experiencia positiva: I rented from metro for 2 years, I never had any issues with the employees or the landlord.. Angela was very informing of what me and my fiance were getting into... everyone was always nice and upfront with me.. our heat went out once and I called and someone showed up within 4 hours.. which I was happy with! Now there houses aren't the best... but for the low rent you are paying, that's what you are going to get. I had a back porch and front porch and nice backyard, 2 bedroom 1 bath, and it was 495 a month... I only give 4 stars because I know all of these 1 star reviews aren't for no reason... but in my personal experience I never had an issue.. and I got my deposit back.

Experiencia negativa: We rented with them for two years , never late on rent always paid on time . When we moved in there was burn holes, stains, and someone took a iron used for a ironing board an burnt holes throughout the house. When we looked at the house we asked if they could put new carpet in and they said they would then only put new carpet in one room. We kept the house in EXCELLENT shape , probably one of they cleanest houses they rent out (all there houses are trashed) .Our water heater was located in the basement , which fluffed every time it rained with atleast a foot of water. So one time it flooded so bad that it broke our water heater then we called and waited more than a week for them to fix it so we had no hot water for more than a week!!!!!!! So we just recently moved out and they will not give us our deposit back. Our deposit was 695 so we should of gotten it back but we didn’t and some how they added up (damage) done to the house and funny thing is it added right up to how much we should of gotten back! 695!! So if you do rent from them expect not to get your deposit back and expect them to be late on everything when it comes to (fixing) your house . They have a group of guys that do there house repairs that have no clue what they are doing . DO NOT RENT FROM THESE SCAMMERS!!!!!
Experiencia negativa: I feel bad for the ladies that work in the office, they obviously deal with a lot of crap. However, i think it wouldn't be that way if their company had better business practices. The way it's run is meant to make as much money as possible by making it hard for the tenants not to screw up on rent. Not to mention, they don't seem to take good care of their properties and don't care much about the people they service. They gave me the run around on my application. I had to wait a few weeks for the apartment to be ready for me to move in and they wouldn't allow me to look at it till it was done. I went in started opening cupboards and the refrigerator and there were live roaches everywhere. I went back and told them. It seems like they have no idea that you have to treat an entire building if 1 unit has bugs. Reading by the rest of the reviews on their business it seems like i would have had to wait a long time for treatment to happen anyway so i asked for my deposit back. They gave me back the money order and told me i could take it back to the check cash place i got it from next door. I did, the person there said i needed the recipt stub which i did not have. They tried very hard to screw me out of my security deposit but my best advice is, if you dont have the recipt, take it to your bank and cash it in there to get your money back. The refund process will take a fee. Tl;dr i don't think metro is worth the hassle.

Experiencia negativa: Slumlord, they just notified me that they put my stuff outside. My rent is current, this can't be legal if it is, its not ethical. No notice to vacate or eviction process. The owner told me a couple weeks ago that he found another tenant who was willing to pay seven times as much rent and he wants me out right now. Then he told me the future renter needs access to one of my doors and is going to move my stuff to get to it it soon. I go there and they had already moved a back wall and knocked and pushed all kinds of my stuff all over.

My neighbor went almost 2 months in 9o degree temps without hers. The property manager is a complete pain in the butt, rude, disrespectful, snappy, disregarding, heartless witch. She is a sore loser n can't admit when she is wrong. Its like having a battle of wits every time you call. To bad there wasn't an app to that. I have a lung disease with a drs note n she refuses to fix or replace anything. I pay my bills n was told in April they don't fix ACs. I should not be told when I am allowed to use it. They also have no idea how to read. I sent in a rent check post dated they cashed it bounced my account and then charged 1oo. In late fees. N refused to pay the bank fee. Their debit card processing fee is 14.99. I have never paid more than 2.99 any other place. This place is a joke. Have fun.

Property I rented was a POS, pipes froze for a month because insulation was so bad, there was bats and bat bugs(look them up) in the house when we moved in and we were blamed for them. Mice were in every wall and no amount of poison or traps slowed them down. And what made me most mad about these guys is when we moved out they had the balls to throw together random numbers and BS charges to keep our $800 deposit.

Just wonder how many $20 do they take for an application and then deny the applicant

I also had a rodent problem and the company came and put foam in the holes where they were coming in. Not to mention that I had a plumbing problem. And I was billed $450.00 even when they came out several times due to the running water in the toilet. when it just needed new flopper . Great Job Metro !

Experiencia negativa: I have had minimum wage people living in these apartments and I they have not provided heat for 21 days. they did bring a heater that would not heat the desk in my office. I called WANE-TV and 211 and the fort wayne housing Authority. There homeless people sleeping in the lobby just to get out of the cold. I would not treat my pets this way.
Experiencia negativa: HORRIBLE!!!! Absolutely horrible experience with them and we have only been in the house just over 6 months. We realized just a week in that there was a leak in the roof. Submitted a ticket with maintenance and they still have not fixed it. The ceiling is cracked and peeling and I don't even need to mention the potential for black mold! The gutter started falling off the house a few weeks ago and they came out and cut it off the house, didn't even replace it! Now our hot water pipes are frozen and they refuse to come out and help us. We don't know where the hot water lines are and where to focus the heat to thaw them. I called today to get the number of whomever is above these women in the office that refuse to help and was told they don't have a boss. We pay almost $600 a month on time, every time and I can't even get them to come out in SIX MONTHS to fix a leaky roof!!!! This is appalling! Who runs a company like this and treats decent, hard-working people this way?? I am ready to contact an attorney. They have had more than sufficient time to fix the initial issues on the house and have not. How's that for specific?? I would not EVER recommend this company to anyone I know! Slumlords is exactly what they are. They care about your money and nothing else. I begged them to put themselves in our shoes, as cold as it is with no hot water! They are responsible for these repairs on this house! And all they did was give me the run around and then eventually transfer me to a voicemail. DO NOT EVER RENT FROM THIS COMPANY!!!

Experiencia negativa: I have rented from metro for close to 4 yrs. in those four yrs I have had water coming up in my heat vents when it rained, my roof has leaked in both rental homes, and they didn't fix anything until I got neighborhood code involved not once, but twice. I've been at my current location for 2 yrs in October and my roof has leaked since we got here, I have put in several maintenance requests, and they still haven't fixed it. The reviews are true. They make these homes look great, it's not until u actually live in one of the properties for a bit that you realize it's all smoke in mirrors. Everything is rigged to the nines and falls apart. I have to have my toilets snaked about every 3 months due to poor plumbing. And what's worse is that they're foul liars. When we moved here there was no porch step. We put in several requests to have one brought over, they never did. Finally a guest was over and fell out of the front door and hurt their ankle. They took legal action and now metro is attempting to place the blame on me stating that I moved the step that was there........there was never a step to move. If that was the case, instead of placing work orders to have them bring one, wouldn't I have just "moved the one that was there, back?" I have faithfully paid my rent to them on time for my entire lease term. I feel bamboozled and disrespected by them. I don't know who runs that show, but there will come a day when karma will have its way. What they do is wrong and I don't know how they legally get away with it. I can't wait until my lease is over so that I can get the heck out of this allergen ridden nightmare!
Experiencia negativa: I was a tenant in a property managed by Metro for 3 years. Their office is either unable or unwilling to keep track of maintenance and repairs, and the workers they send out to do this work are woefully underqualified. For six months the main bathroom was unusable due to an unaddressed drainage issue. The basement (where the furnace, washer, and dryer were located) flooded with up to 1' of water whenever it rained, and when this was happening no other water-using fixtures in the house would drain (and would sometimes back up into the house). Despite many requests for service, no serious efforts were ever made to fix the problem. The deck outside the back door is rotting, and three separate times the floor collapsed below me and I fell through. This too was never addressed, and at the end of my tenancy I was charged for not thoroughly cleaning this unsafe area. Despite leaving behind several working major appliances that were not installed when I moved in (with the Metro office staff graciously accepting this arrangement) and leaving the property in MUCH better overall condition than I found it in, I lost a total of $430 in pet and security deposits. These people are slumlords. They care only about money and not at all about their tenants or the condition of the properties they manage. Renter beware.
Experiencia positiva: Great apartment for the price and location! Metro Real Estate employees are extremely nice and helpful. I lived in my apartment for a little over two years and very much enjoyed my stay here in Fort Wayne. The apartment is close to downtown, a couple good Brew pubs, International supermarket, and a good variety of restaurants. If there was a maintenance in need, Metro was great about getting back within 24 hours with the solution.

Experiencia negativa: The building I rented was falling apart. The ceiling was crumbling into the hallway, the wall had all sorts of water damage. Homeless people are still sleeping in the basement. Boarded up windows and no workers fixing the problem in the years we rented. We rented for 3 years, after we moved out, they said that we owed $1200 in back rent and damages. First off, every single payment was on time and is posted electronically online. Secondly, after moving out, we had carpet cleaners come in and professionally clean the carpets. Statistically, if a company takes someone to small claims court, there's a 50/50 chance that the defendant won't show up. They're betting on that. So expect to get sued, expect no maintenance and expect that your deposit is going into their pockets. Worst company ever.

I've moved in less than three months ago and my washing machine backs up into my toilet and when it rains my hallway carpet floods. It's pretty much a splash pad. After three months they have not finished the repairs and have the audacity to be rude and say " this is not burger king and this is not a customer business". She finished by reminding me I'm not a homeowner so I should be lucky to rent. The.nerve. I pay my rent faithfully and one time and to treated like nothing is beyond me. I've been hung up on twice because I have too many questions and they manage over 700 properties. Ridiculous. From the house to the management this is by far the worse rental experience ever.
Experiencia negativa: I wouldn't even give them one star but I had to. We moved in during the winter time and the house had no heat. It took two weeks for maintenance to fix our heater. Our gutters have been falling off since last winter and still are. We went the whole summer with our baby with no AC. I called countless times to get this resolved and nothing was done about it. It is now January and our heater doesn't work how it should. I would never recommend anyone to rent from metro. Extremely poor and rude management, horrible maintenance and the houses are decrepit. Take my advice do not rent from these people!

We have lived here for over a year and have told them about issues in the house that need to be addressed. When we first moved in the carpet that they claimed was cleaned had stains all over it, the paint that was "freshly painted" was put right over the wall paper so it was peeling off, a window in the basement was missing and all the windows throughout the house were painted shut and missing storm windows. The roof has started leaking to the point that water runs down the inside of wall and directly onto an electrical outlet. We have taken video of this and showed them and they sent someone out who put tar on the roof which has since started leaking again. After letting them know that it is leaking again, they still have yet to do anything about it.The windows that are falling apart have been calked by their "maintenance crew" as a temporary fix. The windows that have no storm windows are starting to rot out and are leaking. The shingles on the roof "have been recalled and that's why they're blowing off". we have been waiting for over a year to see this roof replaced that continues to leak. The last time that we talked to them about the roof (after doing so around twenty different times) we were told that the roof most likely wouldn't be fixed because there are other properties needing it done as well and it just isnt plausible. (WHAT?!!)We now have black mold growing in places throughout the home and were told to spray bleach on it. Even after doing so it just continues to grow back because the roof continues to leak and the windows do as well. In the upstairs bedroom, the ceiling is buckling from all the water and has started to crack as well as growing black mold.We finally decided to withhold rent until these issues are fixed and were taken to court for eviction. While in court they stated that it is illegal in Indiana to withhold rent. By the way if you're ever unfortunate enough to go to court for eviction with these people, you sit in a little room with no judge. All it is, is you and someone from the Metro office. Luckily, we took pictures of the condition of the house when we moved in and video of the water running down the wall as it rains. We have also taken pictures of the windows that are leaking and the mold that is growing, as well as water damage on the ceilings.I CANNOT say this any better. DO NOT RENT FROM METRO!! We will be calling Code Enforcement to come out when we are ready to vacate because I have already spoken to them and they said a house in this condition would have to be condemned until it is brought up to code. Again, stay away from Metro. They do not care about the properties they manage and do not care about the tenants reside in them. They are rude, arrogant, bit**y people who will not hesitate to nickle and dime you every single moment you rent from them. There is a reason that you see numerous negative reviews. I am kinda shocked that they have anything over three stars depending on how bad the experience was. It has to be someone working for the company. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
Experiencia negativa: My name is KETHA PRITCHETT and Came to see the house that my daughter and her friend rented from Metro Real estate.WOW i can't believe how this home was not up to code or the fact that they took advantage of these girls. I am from Michigan so to come there and see that this company has no integrity when dealing with these young women lets me know that the reviews that are being posted is true. They didn't paint or fix anything from the last renters, there was dog and cat feces threw out the home, the ceiling in the bathroom over the shower had fallen and is full of black mole. The ceiling in the hallway fell again full of black mole. kitchen cabinets broken, doors not secure, front porch ceiling buckling with water. the entire roof and wood not to mention installation needs to be replaced because they putt off replacing the roof. Threw out the home is black mode spots that let you know that the installation in the home is wet. The basement has peeling wet paint and floods its a hazard and they know it. Owner Brian Schaper bought the home for $3,300 in 2011 and he has put no money or pride in this home. Parents beware of this company who does not care about the well being of their properties or tenants. For the woman in the rental office always remember what goes around comes around and one day your children will be away at college and i hope that they get treated with the same service you have provided my child with! And the only reason they received the one star is because i couldn't process the review without giving them a star........
