Experiencia fantástica: Troy from Nova Property Management is the best you can get when it comes to property management. I couldn’t believe how smoothly, straight forward & quickly the process went. In less than 3 weeks he gave us a tour and handed us our keys. But that doesn’t mean he wasn’t thorough when it came to the inspection and backing us up for the repairs that needed to be done to the home owner. We couldn’t be happier with the outcome and the guidance he provided us. As first time owners, he made it smooth sailing, he is the real deal.

Experiencia fantástica: Troy M has been an amazing property manager so far after the initial inquiry only took him less than an hour to respond and get me hooked up for the initial application and even then the application got processed incredibly quick and he delivered the good news to me as soon as possible, and then only one meeting after the approval we were able to get the lease signed and have all the inspections done and he fought for me to have repairs done, and to make sure my unit was up to code in all aspects. He is incredibly friendly funny, efficient, and responsive if he already didn’t have a good job, I would hire him on the spot lol.

I moved up from California and was trying to get settled in a new place, in a new state, without really knowing how the rental process worked here. That alone was stressful, but Troy made it simple from the start. He helped me secure my first apartment here, and the whole application process was smooth, quick, and easy. He explained everything clearly, answered all my questions, and made sure I understood each step. There was no confusion, no runaround, and no pressure. He was honest, open, and very straightforward about expectations, lease terms, and timelines, which I really appreciated. What stood out most was his communication. He stayed in touch, responded in a timely manner, and made me feel like I wasn’t just another application on his desk. Moving from California to Alaska is a big change, and having someone reliable guide me through getting my first place here made a huge difference. Experiencia positiva: I've been in these apartments for 4 months now. I will say that the NOVA office is not easy to reach, but when you reach them , they will come through. I've had some issues but when I call, they are there. My recommendation is that when you deal with them ask to speak with Sally. Out of all the people in the office she is the most humane and helpful. She is no push over but she is more honest, real, and transparent of them all. If it wasn't for Sally , I would give this place a half a star, and tell you to run. But I hope they (NOVA) knows what they have in an employee that has their back like she does, and makes them look good.

Experiencia negativa: Not a tenant but a neighbor to one of their properties at E 73rd Ave in Anchorage. Don’t call complaining about tenants or neighbors hoping for issues to be resolved because nothing will be done about it. After calling and emailing about trash left outside FOR A MONTH by a tenant that has moved out, they claimed that someone would be out to take care of it. It’s still there and now has become an even bigger problem than it was the first time I contacted them. Take care of your properties and actually listen to complaints. Nothing but negative things to say about this company. If you’re a possible tenant, just go look somewhere else.

Experiencia negativa: Update- I’m not removing my review, Nova does poorly manage their buildings, you guys seem to take advantage of some tenants and don’t follow up. I also am a tenant currently but I’d like to stay anonymous so I won’t be targeted for where I stay at. The next call I’m making is to a health inspector because nobody should be living in poorly managed conditions in your buildings,and the next may be a lawsuit because I pay too much to have to live in slums. Also when you guys reply back to reviews people give it sounds very unprofessional. Instead of arguing with your tenants or past tenants take accountability and respond professionally even if you receive a bad review.

Experiencia negativa: Beware of Nova Properties – Slumlords & Unfair Charges I moved out of Nova Properties (Juneau Street location) on April 2nd, yet they still charged me for the entire month of April’s rent im month to month but was never given a new lease. They never provided me with a new lease, even though I repeatedly asked for one—I have text messages to prove this. The property is in terrible condition. I have photos of drug needles in the hallways and parking lot. The doors are demagnetized, making it inconvenient and difficult to carry groceries or move items, as you have to open multiple doors just to reach your apartment. Even after moving out, they left utilities (electric and gas) in my name, and as of now, they are still active under me. When I first moved in last January, I couldn’t even stay in the unit because the fire alarms were beeping, yet they made me sign a paper falsely stating they were fine for 5 days amd i oaid to move in. Now, the landlord is falsely accusing me of smoking saying getting no deposit back 1400 full rent and no deposit back 2590 gone saying i smoked but I don’t smoke at all—never have. This place is a nightmare. Stay far away unless you want to deal with slumlords, unsafe conditions, and unfair charges!

The best way to describe what just happened is to simply include the text I just sent their agent Evelyn, with a bit more detail added now. “Evelyn- our appointment was for between 1:30 and 1:45- I scheduled time for that- when you reached out early- at 1:09 I said that I could be there in about 12 minutes- I was at the apartment door at about 1:21- I was in the apartment for less than 5 minutes- Your conduct and communication is drastically unprofessional- and if you are not the actual owner of that unit- your service to your company- and the unit owner is negligent at best- Your judgement of me that I have concerns about blocked drains or a fractured/ not simply cracked window- that has been left un-repaired by your own admission “well over two years,” and represents a SIGNIFICANT safety and security risk that I would hope by law would need to be addressed, demonstrates both your absolute lack of professionalism personally, and your company’s clear neglect of their responsibilities as management, confirming the negative reviews as to neglect that are up on line. Your presumption that because I had inquiries as to the repair of the window or clearing of the drains meant the apartment was not for me anyway also confirms your company’s complete neglect and lack of professionalism- because any honest reputable management agency- or agent addresses needed repairs on changeovers and has those discussions all the time. What I experience is your negligence is and the absolute disrepair of the apartment, is the deciding factor in my not executing a lease this afternoon - which probably would have been the outcome had you been professional and comported yourself differently. You represent everything that is failing and brings a bad name to your industry.” I also add that after sending this text, when trying to follow through with the main management company Nova- my calls are being blocked. I feel badly for anyone who is currently in business with them. I am so grateful I am not.

Experiencia negativa: The worst apartment complex I’ve ever lived in. The property is sketchy and filthy, the property managers do not hire reliable maintenance workers to fix critical repairs and I went almost a month without a kitchen sink or any way to do my dishes.. the toilet was not sealed, the maintenance man left my sliding glass door completely open in a very sketchy area on the first floor so anybody could come into my apartment. It was left like this for hours! Worst place I ever lived at!

Experiencia negativa: Property owner here. Had issues with a rep leaving unannounced and with Covid and holidays I didn’t receive adequate responses. After getting in touch with management by google review, everything is taken care of now. The below response is incorrect for the “repair”. The one spoken about I physically have not heard or seen about. This is due to my mailing address wasn’t correct. Again due to an employee left and email wasn’t being checked for three months.I will not edit or delete my review. You have taken down my original one star review I posted, so I put this one up in response. However, glad to see your response time haven’t changed. Two months to follow up. Want to bring your Google review up, stop screwing over your tenants and landowners.

The professional way they do their business is equal to perfection, and I would recommend that any and whoever that needs a place should call them. Experiencia negativa: As an owner do not use this company to manage your rental property. My neighbor used them and I didn’t have their contact info so I called this company numerous times to report that there were about 15 people living in a 3 bedroom condo and that they were causing damage to the property. They did absolutely nothing and now the owner has to have everything fixed along with the damages caused to connecting units.

Experiencia negativa: Nova will NOT keep the property owner's interests as a priority. They don't answer their phones, they don't return phone calls and they don't follow up on tenants who stay beyond their notice to vacate date. Their interest is the bottom dollar. If you plan to sell your property and need the current tenants to leave with adequate notice, good luck having Nova act on that, because it will mean that they no longer have a client. The hours of operation is meaningless simply because no one ever responds. I can't emphasize enough their inadequacies.

A YEAR LATER they take money from my own bank account the place me and my children lived in was unlivable, roof caved in also rain poured down from above the stove wouldn’t recommend to ANYONE! disgusting people/ SUM LORDS the fact your trying to turn everything on me should show anyone what kind of people these guys are, the roach and mice infestation didn’t take part of fast action when notified to the “new landlord” the leaking roof was only in the process. i was attending a funeral when the court hearing was scheduled just because you got a order granted by the court my side will never be quiet. if you have children don’t ever rent from nova or wesley nakomoto when our roof leaked all they did was get someone to vacuum up the water we had water coming from the vent above our stove, water leaking from outlets .. it was month that they bought out wesley still no action took place when we lived there they made it harder for me to rent anywhere and now they come for my children’s savings i still have documentation we lost everything. TVs Clothes got moldy, my kids Toys, entertainment centers. Beds.

Paid 2 application fees for an apartment of interest, nobody responded for 4 weeks, after one month we were advised that we are approved, but for an apartment we did not apply for, or event look at. Do not pay application fees, and find another property management to assist you with renting.

Experiencia negativa: Still got all the same perks my rent went from $795 to $1150 just cause they can. My parking spot is still always taking the parking lot is a car junk yard took months to fix a hole in the ceiling but hey. Pay more money for the same living arrangement if not move in 7 days and they can care less.

Experiencia negativa: Unresponsive, unprofessional and don't delist properties that aren't available anymore, but will still gladly take your money. Spent nearly a week and a half trying to get a viewing on a property that "should be available" and was told repeatedly that this property "SHOULD BE" available. No definitive answers until we paid our application fee. After 8 of our missed calls and 2 days later, finally! Except we're told that property was not available... They just didn't take it down... A week later? I still see it up!!

Experiencia negativa: My experience so far I say sucks. Communication needs to be better. Two weeks no response to see if a unit is available. Finally received a text to go in and get an application to apply. Turned in my applications and paid the fee that was required. Messaged Evelyn Luna to check on my status and never got a response.. going on two weeks. Apparently the unit would be available this month. Even if I didn't qualify for the unit, it would have been respectfully kind enough to let us know. Not just ignore my message. But we were blessed with something better. I wouldn't reccomend this place because if it takes that long to respond to messages, I could only image how long it would take for anything else to be taken cared of.

Experiencia negativa: Horrible management, no hot water for 8 months. Don’t clean the properties. I can go on an on about how bad nova is to rent with. I’d leave less if I could.

Experiencia negativa: I've witnessed their employees throwing litter out of their company vehicles multiple times. Most recently an employee driving one of their company trucks tossed some plastic wrapping out of their window and then shortly after a still smoldering cigarette butt. Not only is this incredibly unprofessional we are currently experiencing a burn ban. Edit - Their response is clear they didn't even read the review. I'm not complaining about unsecured loads, I'm complaining about employees directly littering out of the window of the trucks by throwing trash and lit cigarette butts out of the window. I guess they can try putting a cargo net over their employees but I don't think that will do much.

Experiencia fantástica: Nova Properties has been my manager for about three or four years now. It's a relief having them handle the details of my four rental units. Nova stayed with me through the worst of the pandemic and helped me keep my properties in good shape. For routine or emergency maintenance, they know exactly who to call whether it's day, night, or weekends. I and my tenants only need to call Nova and things get done. Nova has helped me keep good tenants while also helping me remove and replace bad ones. They are very knowledgeable in landlord/tenant law. Evelyn at Nova Properties in particular has done amazing work coordinating the remodeling of my units, getting them done quickly and much more affordably than expected so that I can get new tenants into vacancies FAST. Occupancy is the name of the game. I plan on keeping Nova as my property manager in the future if I should acquire new properties. ~Brian Ross
