Experiencia negativa: We did two showings with them. The first was in a building that looked EXACTLY like the interior of the building from the movie Hostel. The apartment was entirely in shambles and they had a guy that looked like they hired him off the street in the apartment painting over wall sockets and old stains on the walls. The second was much nicer and was a house for rent. (Though you could still tell they don’t put out any serious money for upkeep) We liked it and decided to put in an application. It cost $80 for us both to apply (my fiancé and I) then they wanted an above-average amount of documentation for our income, our dog, etc. It took 3 emails to get a confirmation that I had finally given them everything they wanted to process the application. That was nearly 4 weeks ago and I never heard ANYTHING back. So, probably not a company I’d recommend. Especially with so many other rentals in Akron that aren’t giving the slum-lord vibe and won’t put you out almost $100 just to apply.

Experiencia fantástica: I’m adding to a review I had done once before because I find them to be very good they manage your money very well you can only do so much at a time so we appreciate that about them everyone. employees who work there are very nice The guys who come out to fix things and check on things know their jobs extremely well!! I’m very glad that we have Crossroads management (I hope people aren’t mixing them up with crossroads Remax) They have very good people who come out to fix any issues they manage our condos Mike who also is in charge of the boilers is the best worker you could probably ever find!

Experiencia negativa: My family lived here and it was horrible. The office staff I witnessed and especially the owner. I’m so happy my family got out the unit. I advise don’t rent from Crossroads. Some maintenance that has even worked there complained about the owner and staff that works in the office.

Experiencia negativa: This place is so shitty and I wouldn’t recommend at all! BE CAREFUL!!! They don’t fix anything, Landlord is rude and unprofessional. The staff in the office unprofessional. Maintenance don’t fix anything- funny thing is when you move out they charge you for everything maintenance was supposed to been fix before you even move in. Once you move out they literally show the house the next day and post fake pictures online oh yeah they charge you for everything the maintenance is supposed to do. They charge you if you don’t deep clean the house so it can be rented the literally next day. All the apartments and houses need to be renovated. Be aware, don’t move your kids there cause the ceiling will fall down and mushrooms grow in the house. Don’t move your kids into these homes that Crossroads has for rent.
Experiencia negativa: I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy. They are terrible at responding to issues, and when you try and escalate these issues to management they blow you off. Upon moving out they wanted to charge for things that belonged to us... You Do not want to rent from them. If you do, keep track of everything, take photos moving in and moving out, they will try to screw you over every way you turn. Terrible management!!?
Experiencia negativa: Maintenance hasn’t come out to look at the multiple issues we’ve needed addressed for over a year now but they’re more than happy to be inconsiderately loud working on the apartment next door. Because apparently people that work late shifts don’t matter.
Experiencia fantástica: It all started with a friend who lives in Jackson Township and advised us to search and live in this neighborhood. We started following the company's website day after day until we found what we were looking for. We contacted Jason, whom we met at the desired home for the first time. Therefore, it was. When we started moving into the house, There was some issues that needed to be fixed. The company sent its maintenance team to work for several days until most of the work was completed. By the way, they are so kind and friendly people who never hesitate to provide the required service. Not to mention their lovely smiles (Lori, Michael, Kevin,...etc.). Of course, there are others too, whose names I cannot quite remember. I've been living here in Jackson Township with my family for about 18 months, and it's been my first real experience with renting homes and dealing with the individuals and companies that do it. Thank you to everyone...... Crossroads, the administrators, the secretaries, and the maintenance team, for the positive experience you provide me . Special thanks to Jason... and to Michael and Lori...
Experiencia negativa: Incredibly disorganized, never came to repair house in a timely way, refrigerator was broke when we moved in and it took two weeks to get a fridge that worked. Sewer line broke under the kitchen one winter and they left it all winter so we smelled sewage all winter. The sewage fumes stained the kitchen floor from the fumes they left it so long. Roof started leaking, we told them it was leaking but owner didn’t fix it for a year so there was black mold on the ceiling. Charged me electricity for three months after I moved out because they never took over responsibility of the utilities when we moved out. Should be illegal.

Experiencia fantástica: Where do I start!!! Big shout out to Michael and Lori!!! The most professional and 2 nicest people I have met in a long time. Replaced a worn out, old deck and when I tell you they put there heart and soul in this deck. You can absolutely tell they love what they do and it shows annnnnnnd to top it off when they finished they put all of our deck furniture on the deck and cleaned every piece of wood up. These 2 are amazing. Looking for a new deck or any repairs, I'm sure they can handle it and you will be pleased!!! Thank you Michael, Lori, and CRMR.
Experiencia negativa: I need the No Stars! Cynthia called me this morning (after maintenance was a no show), screaming at the very top of her voice. Rude and disrespectful, because 80% of the ceiling in master bedroom collapsed 6/18, room was not accessible until 6/24. They have sent 5 different staff in 5 days (I have had to miss work), today being that no show, maintenance person called 20 min after scheduled arrival time. Work is still not complete. Many items have been damaged and destroyed and the 1st call I received outside of maintenance, was Cynthia screaming shame on me, for looking into public records of the maintenance staff coming in and out of my home. She said I was barraiding them ?!? I let Cynthia know not to call my phone again. She was very upset that I didn't want the staff in my home if I was not home due to these public records. Also I have lived in this home 5 yrs , no inspections or maintenance and rent always paid. Their maintenance person said the home is sloping and that is why the ceiling came down. Further more the negligence is evident in the fact they have no key to the unit, they wanted me to just leave my door unlocked. I have filed a complaint with the housing division as well as the health dept. working on the BBB and ACAR - my opinion - Don't Do It! The worst rental experience of my life! Experiencia negativa: House not up to par and maintenance just do the bare minimum so house won't fall down but I haven't had any problems so far with people in the office. I saw the reply to my review but I am a tenant and your company Cindy only has 2 stars so that should say something.

Experiencia negativa: Filed an eviction after I was moved out for eight months, with a documented $0.00 balance on Crossroads letterhead, after another tenant was already moved in. Thank God, I had proper documentation. On another occasion... the maintainece MAN (literally)PHYSICALLY PUSHED his way into my home to change locks without my request nor a 24-hour notice being issued to me. I was forced to call law enforcement, and I am grateful that I was able to contact the owner of the property because the maintainece staff from Crossroads lied to responding officers, which could've turned out very differently. Thank GOD, the owner addressed it properly. Ref.: Crossroads in the Evans Building.

Experiencia fantástica: I have been a tenant for 3 years and have had nothing but an extremely positive experience!! They are responsive, respectful and beyond helpful. Every time I’ve called for maintenance they have sent someone right away. Sadie is INCREDIBLE, her attention to detail is always spot on. Sadie works in maintenance and will always communicate efficiently and follows up after the work to make sure all is well, not easy to find these days! Can’t recommend enough. Looks like some folks are unhappy with another company that has a similar name, but I can assure you Crossroads Management Realty is top notch! Thank you Sadie and team!!

They communicate well and operate efficiently while paying attention to the details too! She asked me to highlight how patient Rob is with her as an older woman in her 70's - Always professional and personable!

Experiencia negativa: dont rent from this company.. threatened an eviction due to billing problems on THEIR end. shadiest company ever. takes forever for maintenance to come down. receptionists are straight up disrespectful and clueless.. owner is out of her mind—screamed on the phone stating we were “harassing her” .. rent somewhere else !!

We requested you clean up your unit. If your unit is not clean, you can get rodents. We set traps for mice, and I presume everything is fine since you still occupy the unit.

Experiencia negativa: I rented from this company a while ago I would send in rent checks three Mos at a time and thanks to My wonderful mother telling me to keep all receipt and my mom keep them so I would not lose them thank God one day I was outside getting my mail and a car pulled me a worker from crossroads gave a me a eviction notice saying I did not pay rent witch I did for my mom to get the receipt called them got I will look into it and they hung up phone on me I called multiple time about mice when I moved out they tried taking part of deposit for things that were clean And a window that was broken I I told them about before I moved in there rude
Experiencia negativa: I have rented from them in the pass and they are very unprofessional they don’t value there tenants I have made complaints about pest and bug infestations and all they did was spray never got to the bottom of the problem the receptionist and the property managers (Jennifer, Cynthia and Chrissy) are very very rude and nasty they are very unreasonable with the rent it varies and all The units are the same and so outdated we had real bad sewage problem we had mice in the walls and ceiling and the upstairs neighbors had roaches they didn’t do anything and refused to let us move to another unit. CROSSROADS ARE TERRIBLE PLEASE DO NOT RENT FROM THEM THEY NEED TO BE STOPPED!!!!

Experiencia negativa: Poor customer service, properties in bad condition, and they'll overcharge you when you move out for cleaning services on things you already cleaned(and returned in better condition than when they were rented to you). I wouldn't recommend doing business with this company.

Experiencia negativa: PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY...I paid 40 application fee and was approved for a place 3 weeks ago and they still can not tell me when i can move in. According to one of the Reps they dont start fixing on the property for you to move in until they have a deposit. I could be waiting months for all I know. They should not list homes for rent that are not ready to move in, especially without stating that the homes are not move in ready.
Experiencia negativa: I lived here for about 2 years in the Jackson township townhomes off of Harris Ave. The townhomes need updated externally & internally for the monthly rent they are charging. When I originally moved in, the owner saw condensation in my windows & offered to replace the windows even sent a company out for an estimate yet never replaced the windows during my time living there. The window company even warned me they were not going to actually replace them. Jason Shyjka & the maintenance team is the ONLY saving grace for this company, very personable & respectful guys, if you have to deal with anyone else good luck. The management system they use for maintenance requests is horrible. I always had to follow up on requests (usually multiple times) for them to be completed. I went without a hot water tank for week & a furnace multiple days in the winter. I'm a single mom of 2 that worked swing shift so very limited time actually home so due to that my sister assisted watching my children & they accused me of having an additional adult living there but not on the lease which wasn't the case, she just had to occasionally babysit for me, even did an inspection to make me prove otherwise which is insane. Also, I didn't expect my full security deposit back because they take $85 automatically to clean the carpets & I did not patch any holes in the wall ($75 fee) but I had a professional cleaner come & Crossroads claimed the stove wasn't clean but I watched her clean it so they took a fee for that & the biggest issue was the carpet. They docked a $250 fee for a 2x2 (inch) square that needed replaced & I even pointed it out to Jason during my walk through (because he did not even notice it) which he told me they will more than likely take a corner from the closet to replace it which is what a carpenter told me to do when I was going to have it repaired myself & I wish I would have because they are not replacing that whole carpet so taking $250 & $85 for carpet is a scam. Beware what you're getting self into renting from this company I promise there will be multiple issues.

We moved in 3 months ago, and this is a list of the problems we’ve had so far: water heater did not work when we moved in, AC does not cool the apartment when it’s hot (called multiple times and they never sent anyone), the key for our mailbox they gave us did not work, they key fob for our outside door did not work, the place was not deep cleaned properly, our bathroom doors don’t close all the way, there is a floor vent missing in one of the bathrooms and is disgusting(pic below), and the newest problem is there stupid outside door lock software is broken so NO ONE can get inside our building with the key fobs unless someone lets you in. We have complained yet it’s not fixed in almost a week. These guys a JOKE and I CANNOT WAIT until my lease is up. They should go out of business FORVER

Experiencia negativa: I am beyond pissed. My elderly, handicapped parents have had nothing but trouble from these irresponsible, rude people. First the stove didn't work, they replaced it with junk. The toilet is leaking, they came out after many calls and it is still broken after 5 months, and now there is black mold. My mother is on oxygen. Now today the refrigerator has died, my father called them, theytold him to call back tomorrow. Everything in it is thawed out, and can not be used. They are on a fixed income. BBB will be getting a call from me about these slum lords.

Experiencia negativa: I gave my 30 day notice to crossroads management and had email correspondence with Jennifer L, one of the managers confirming to her I would be moved out, apartment clean and keys left in the unit on a specific date. (The instructions I was given) I did just that. Then a month later I get a call that my rent was late even though I have been out a month and already moved into my new apartment. Unfortunately this manager went on maternity leave and didn’t notify the office of my move out date I guess?? She did not tell me I had to call once I was out, they did not tell me they needed to do a walk through with me Etc. I was out on my move out date and keys left like she told me. they are also trying to charge me with a dirty tub, stove and refrigerator and a few other things even though they were spotless upon my departure. I made the mistake of renting from this company and will now fight this if I have to. They are so poorly managed. Not to mention my 3 attempts to have them fix my front door that was broken since I moved in.
Experiencia fantástica: I have lived at one of the townhouses for a whole year now and i am very pleased. Management never fails to let me know if someone is coming to look at something and will call me before. Anytime i have called for maintenance, they usually will fix the issue within the week and then call to check up on me. They have made my first year living on my own so easy for me!
Experiencia negativa: 0 stars! The president of this company, Cynthia Bender, is beyond unprofessional and disrespectful. I was leaving an appointment I had with my attorney located in the Evan’s Building in which Crossroads is also located. I was simply standing outside waiting for my Uber when this erratic older woman came up to me screaming and cussing profanities asking who I was, why I was standing there and asked what car is mine and where am I parked? I explained to her I just left my appointment and am waiting for my ride. I mentioned this later to my attorney and he apologized and stated it was the building manager Cynthia, who does this a lot. I will never visit this building again, she left such a horrible impression on the entire building! Her behavior is completely unacceptable regardless of her position.

But when it’s comes to other tenants they choose seniority there is no seniority as a renter ♀️.. This is my first year renting with them and ever since I moved in my apartment the neighbor upstairs has did nothing but cause me problems! I know since I live in multi family building that it can be a bit noisy! He stomps all night and morning and it’s causes me problems with my sleep! Every-time I call down to the office to please tell them to can he at least be respectful towards me because I am a working woman and I need to rest! They’re excuse is “ he’s been there 14yrs and we’ve never had a problem” and you are “ the only tenant to complain about him making noise “ the older secretary is very rude! She is more Argumentative then understanding! And she also hangs the phone up I’ve called more then 5x about him being noisy! It’s to the point where they now know my address and apartment number heart! The tenant has threatened to harm me! I have videos of him stomping obnoxiously! He spits on my door! He makes false police reports on me and apparently has does the same to previous tenants in that same apartment! I am a younger woman of 24yr and the tenant is 54! The president of the company offered me to break my lease early and suggested I move! I shouldn’t have to move because a tenant can’t behave himself! It’s sucks I have to take this a bit further in the law! I have the rights to protect my peace in my home that I pay them for and they don’t wanna do anything about it but tell me otherwise! My home is nice but far as them being understanding to new tenants 0/0 stars! It’s just insane the first thing that comes out their mouth is he’s been there for 14yrs but they don’t seem to understand is why can’t anyone below him can stay for that long! There are 4 of us in the building I’ve spoke with the the tenant across the hall and he’s never had problems with the person that lives above him! Smh ♀️

I gave this company security deposit last tuesday. Was hounded by the staff to get documents in for the wife's service animal turned them into them had to call them the following tuesday to find out what was going in and was rudely spoke to was told oh well they are waiting on the owner to either awnser the phoen or call back. Told them I wanted money back and it took them another 2 days to call me back to say they are ready to give me my.money back . Absolutely horrible company.

Two days ago I blew a fuse in my apartment something that is a simple fix right? Wrong the fuse box is locked which is something I can understand with it being outside. However when I called to the leasing office and explained the situation it took them 4 hours to get here we live on the top floor of this building and it was 92 degrees. We live 5 mins away from the main office The icing on the cake was again a fuse blew again today at 3pm it is now 2 am and I still don't have power to my fridge and microwave MY FOOD IS ABOUT TO BE RUINED . He called and told me he arrives at 10 pm and nothing has changed ITS A SIMPLE FUSE

Experiencia negativa: Wanted a cash deposit down. Took over a week with no decision. I decided against property and asked for deposit back. Made me wait another day. Had to go to their office and was given a check. From start to finish transaction was unprofessional.
Hi SP. We are able to take cash, check, or money order payments for security deposit. We do not hold cash in the office, so any refunds are made by company check. We are unsure as to what part of the transaction was unprofessional. It does take time to perform the credit and background checks as well as receive an approval from an owner.
Experiencia negativa: If I could give zero stars, I would. Rented a duplex from these people that turned out to be roach infested with a basement so full of trash bags full of cans you couldn't even easily move through the space. The lease said the water was to be paid by landlord, which they neglected to do until our water was shut off without notice. Checked with the water department and apparently the 6 months of rent they'd collected hadn't gone to the over $300 they owed on the bill. Still, when we moved out, they had the nerve to try to charge us $200+ for "cleaning" (the place wasn't left dirty) despite the four days we couldn't flush our toilet we never even got an apology for, much less a break on rent.
Experiencia negativa: If this company acquires your property move immediately, their contractors are horrible and they do not care about their tenants. As of writing this we are going on being stuck in our apartment for 36 hours from them not having a plowing company to clear the foot of snow off of our parking lot and driveway. The tenants had to resort to digging themselves out. I would give 0 stars if I could.
Experiencia negativa: The day I move into my apartment it was extremely dirty and the smell was horrendous carpet coming up and torn in places they did not paint and told me they would not paint .They told me the management would not be painting the loft that I had to do it at my own expense I've been here week and I'm moving out already
Experiencia negativa: Unprofessional waited 10days to hear from them after I called on several occasions just to find out they denied our Apps ($120). I had to continuously call them for answers and no one ever gave me an answer, I was told I would get a call back, never did untill the 10th day. Also the houses shown were NOT in good shape BUT was told they would be fixed before move in. I believe it is because my husband is Black. (Could be the owner too)

I was supposed to move out of my apartment 02/15/2018 when I got back to my apartment all of my stuff was moved outside and the doors were locked . They are trying to charge me for cleaning charges and rent lying and saying I never gave them a 30 day written notice which I did . I spoke to Melissa smith who hung up on me twice on purpose. I asked for the Owners information and she told me that he knows nothing about what is going on at their company and that they are allowed to act as him . She told me she doesn’t have to pull my file and give me more information. Do not rent from here . She is a liar
Experiencia negativa: Was looking to rent one of their homes. So glad we did a tour as the entire basement was covered in black mold. Which they tried to cover up with cardboard to hide it. When asked if management was going to repair the home they said no. Stay away from this management company as they do not care about your health and safety, only your money.

Experiencia negativa: Literally trash. Made me go two months without a working refrigerator. And when they finally came and switch them out, they threw out all the food I had to keep in the freezer. Called me at work countless times telling me I have to leave my job to pay them or face eviction because they didn't want to wait on the mail. Didn't want to fix anything in the house that needed repairs. Countless issues with these people. Don't do it.
Experiencia negativa: We were bought out by this company never was introduced to the owner or even spoke with him and within one month of them buying out our triplexes he raised everyone’s rent $ 195 a month! Not to mention this is during a pandemic and we’re all just trying to get by with what we were already paying there staff and owner only care about money I also found Maintance to be rude. I would highly recommend not renting from crossroads management.
Experiencia negativa: Places are beautiful but when it comes to having maintenence done to your home, or someone to fix things good luck on getting someone to come out.. you move in and then they kind of don't care about nothing but your money. I do have to give it to Christine she makes sure she takes care of things and recently has got things took care of for us.. Thank you Christine!!!

Experiencia negativa: Was about to purchase a property through an owner under this HOA and had my lawyer review the bilaws, which were outdated and vague. Owner of Crossroads Management Realty directed me to legal counsel, who would not provide an answer. Steer clear of HOAs with vague legal contracts for your own protection!

Experiencia negativa: okay i had to edit/ make a new review because i am so disappointed at this point. my little family& i have lived in a cross roads rental property for a few years now& we have had nothing but problems. the first issue we came across was when we first moved in. we got a little fire pit as a gift. the fire pit had a protective cover that was ruined by the lawn care crew. it was weed whacked& it looked like they tried to tuck it in to hide it. the second problem we stumbled across was our kitchen sick. it SHOCKED me. like an electric shock. i made a call. they said someone would come out. called again. they said someone would come out. called a third time. they said they would send someone out. after a week of this, a family friend of mine brought the fire marshal over. there was an electrical charge going through our sink because all of the wires under the sink were not up to code. the fire marshal gave me paper work to give to them. so i made yet another call& told them. the only thing they did was take out my garbage disposal& disregarded everything that wasn’t up to code. next. our toilet for almost a month wouldn’t stop running. again. i called a number of times before anyone even came out. it was running so much that the water bill was $200 alone!!!!! another issue we have had is flooding/ leaking. EVERYTHING HERE LEAKS. the bathroom leaks down into the laundry room. half of the pipes in the laundry room leak& we have had to fix them ourself. oh not to mention the time the drain got so backed up it flooded BOTH units of the twinplex. not to mention the amount of BLACK mold in both units bathrooms. even today. i made a call because a pipe was leaking in the laundry room. it’s been leaking for a few days now. i assumed it was our broken washer until i moved it out. it was for sure a pipe. whoever answered told me that there’s no way it was a pipe it had to be because i moved the washer& it was leaking. i called three times today. the leak went from a steady drip to a running leak. it flooded into the kitchen. it was so much water it was flooding out the back door. but it was just the old washer i moved right. but don’t you worry, we fixed that ourself too, because it wasn’t a priority, they said. oh don’t forget how the manager of the company a few months ago cussed at me, told me if i don’t like the rules to just buy my own house& hung up on me, all over a swimming pool in our yard. don’t rent from them. it’s not worth it. my neighbor just moved out, they put a for rent sign up in the yard & i haven’t seen anyone in to clean the unit yet. renting with out cleaning anything. yikes.
Experiencia negativa: Office representatives are not professional and actually very rude. Apartment isn’t falling apart but the place was not cleaned when I moved in and the floors were recently stripped and not finished, they look terrible. Listing said washer and dryer was included-then was told it wasn’t and had to quickly find a set myself. Fought with the realtor company countless times about getting the water bill in my name and they didn’t until the bill was severely passed due and during this pandemic no one has the money to immediately pay a $400 bill all at once.
Experiencia negativa: Would have given negative stars if possible. Told I was denied because of background check didn't come through. Im sure they are charging owners for this. I have never been in trouble with law this is how i know they are scamming owners and renters. Then offered me one of their places to rent.... so glad Im Not dealing with this joke.
Experiencia negativa: I thought the landlord, crossroads management, was doing a kind and sweet gesture by mowing the lawn without provocation during these hard times of a pandemic. Turns out they are over charging me for lawn service I didnt ask for. I'd give less stars if I could.

Experiencia fantástica: I rented from them for 4 1/2 years. My son rents from them. They've been good to me, and my son.
Experiencia negativa: Management and rental office building is a janky hole in the wall and their customer service is iffy. I need maintenance on my door that refuses to lock unless I slam into the door. The electric bill was supposed to go in my name but when I called Ohio Edison they told me they didn't have my address listed and couldn't find it in their system. I call crossroads management to figure it all out. They answered, put me on hold, returned to the call and told me they would get back to me. That was at the beginning of September. I have yet to hear from them and it is now October, a month later.
Experiencia negativa: Completely Unprofessional I had a scheduled viewing for a listed available property for rent @10 am 01/25/2020 and I have to be at work at 12 I arrived at the property at 9:45 and patiently waited for the personnel showing me the property till 10:15 no one showed or gave me a call to let me know anything I was really excited about viewing the property but now at this point I’m having second thoughts about trying to pursue living arrangements with this company.
