This morning I got a routine rental audit update from Daniel to let me know how the tenants are doing. This is not any of my previous PM officers have done. I truly believe Cornerstone stands out for a reason. With some minor communication matters that we've been still getting familiar with each other and working on. Overall, I'll say our efforts trying to get them to manage our rental was time & effort well spent. Thank you team! Original Review in 2025: We tried multiple times to get Cornerstone to manage our rental given the recommendations from a friend. I think the timing of it all was just not the best. We reached out at a time when they were short staffed and they couldn't take on our property. We waited for about a year until they had enough people. We had them do a move-out and move-in plus the repair etc. The experience has been ok until recently we found out that they had a contractor installed a shower door for our hallbath without our approval, which costed much more money than we wanted to spend. When we raised the concern, there's no apology or any commentary in that matter. It's rather disappointing. For that specific work of scope, we were not provided detailed/ official quote to state what exactly will be done. It was brief and written in an email. After the fact when I asked for the quote, it was a very brief hand written quote. We expected a company like this would use the contractors who are up to par. From now on, we feel like we have to pay extra attention on what they're doing. So it's not really the peaceful mind we were looking for.

Experiencia fantástica: I've had a rental condo in Campbell for over 15 years. Previous to that I lived in it for 10 years so I know the neighbors and neighborhood quite well. When I first converted it to a rental, I used a property management company that I was not happy with. I then self managed for about a decade. My neighbor moved out of their unit and converted it to a rental and started using Cornerstone for property management. After the stress of self managing got to be too much, I called up Brad at Cornerstone to see what they can do for me. Brad walked me through how they operate and I was extremely impressed. I later met the team at the Cornerstone office, and I was impressed by all of them. As soon as Cornerstone took over management, they handled repairs, cleaned the place up, posted ads online and got a fantastic tenant at a higher rent point than what I was expecting. In the past two years that I have used Cornerstone and I've been extremely happy with them and I can't imagine using another property management company. When issues have come up at the unit that need quick repair I know that they dispatch the right people out to fix things right away and without inflating the invoices, I have also referred friends to them who have also started using them.

Experiencia negativa: Had an issue when renewing my lease. I had reached out to the management team because my lease was coming to an end and I hadn’t heard anything from them. To which I got a response that said it would automatically roll over to month-to-month. Then two weeks before my lease ends, they send me a year long renewal contract which came with a price increase (which is supposed to be given 30-60 days before the end of your prior lease).

Experiencia negativa: This review is way overdue because of the last two years of struggles with my health and having to move twice in one year. Everything I write I have proof, evidence and ZIllow records all calls so I will upload, once I have time, and update this review with the links to hear and see with your own two eyes. Please feel free to PM me. The purpose for this review is to educate homeowners and potential renters who are disabled and low income where you could get the support you need in the event this, or other, Property Mangement Companies do this to you because I've faced so much discrimination over the years and Cornerstone are repeat violators. Brad refused to rent to me multiple times over the last 4 years. He's very sly with his kind demeaner while his gaslighting personality but refusing to rent to disabled applicants, like me. In 2022 his staff refused to schedule a viewing of a unit, kept hanging up on me and then when they finally scheduled me I think her name was Roxanne played so many games on the phone which was confusing when Cornerstone had a prompt at the beginning of the call that the calls were recorded. When I attended the open house, I think her name was Roxanne talked to other interested parties friendly and warm then was cold as ice to me when talking to me. She even laughed at me noting that I had left a (so many minutes i think it was an 8 minute voice message because I was explaining my situation of living in an inhabitable unit in the message, which was humiliating and made me cry in front of other viewers who were also looking at the unit. I immediately requested to speak to her manager. I received a call from Brad who was a smooth talker. He acted very caring but when I explained that I wanted to submit an application and would receive help from a third party for my deposit he told me that he needed the deposit within 24 hours. Then fast forward, unbeknownst to me this was the property management company who put me through so much distress I had inquired on a unit in 2023. They scheduled me for a viewing on a Friday at 5pm which as I write this sounds fishy right?! I showed up to the viewing on time but they stood me up. I sat there for almost an hour assuming Friday traffic. When I called the business number I got in contact with their 24-hour answering service who refused to contact the oncall manager so I started to search online and found an emergency contact when I called the number a name popped up on my phone "discriminator Brad" he answered and said he would come meet me. It took 45 more minutes to come. I submitted an application the weekend and Monday followed up but surprisingly the unit had not one, but two applications that came in over the weekend before mine. Imagine that! This was after I had seen the unit advertised by another property manager forever now Cornerstone had taken over and after I seen it now there's two applications before me.. over the next several weeks I was repeatedly told they were working on other party's apps meanwhile they kept the unit vacant for weeks telling other interested callers they didn't have applications in on the unit. I cannot put into words the emotional, financial hardship they have caused me. If your disabled and low income and face these issues please PM me. Thanks for listening.

They contact us for approval before any major/tricky repairs. The team is usually very responsive, and when needed spend a good amount of time over the phone explaining things. They make sure all transactions are properly recorded in their portal for us to verify if needed. If there are any discrepancies, they take care of it right away. Overall, I recommend them to anyone looking to outsource the messy reality of dealing with tenants directly. At 7% of rental income, we feel their fee is reasonable given the quality of service and peace of mind they provide.

Experiencia negativa: I have a language barrier. English is my second language. I feel like I'm being discriminated against by Cornerstone Management. It is difficult for me to express my thoughts, feelings, and needs clearly when communicating face-to-face or by phone in English. I'm a tenant of this house. On September 10, my house was flooded because the washer on the second floor broke down. The ceiling of the first floor, the wall of the first floor, and the second floor around the washer were damaged by water. (It was the second time of water leaked. there was water leaking from the washer in the middle of August.) My family got accommodation and have lived somewhere for 6 weeks. Women, Ang~ of Cornerstone Management is supposed to update me on the construction situation of my house. In the first week, my house was equipped with large warmers (fans) and dried the whole house for a week. And nothing went on for three weeks. I sent several emails to Ang~. She emailed me back once and said that she hadn't heard anything from the construction company yet. So I called ServPro directly, who worked on the drying process, and the ServPro guy said that the construction was not working because of the house owner's insurance. (Actually, the house owner's insurance company stopped by my house 9/11/23 and they inspected my house.) And then I waited another week or so. After that, Cornerstone Management still didn't contact me first. I spoke to Supervisor Bra~ on the phone because I was not able to wait any longer. The supervisor Bra~ said the construction would be completed in a week. The day to be completed is tomorrow (10/18/23). I stopped by my house this afternoon. I expected almost everything to be done. But my prediction was wrong. The construction on the second floor was not underway, and the broken washer was just left on the second floor. I discussed the construction schedule by phone with Cornerstone Management last week, and they said everything would be completed by tomorrow. When I stopped by my house this afternoon and thought that the carpet cleaning would be impossible until tomorrow. I called Ang~ again. She said she didn't know when the carpet would be cleaned. What a ridiculous situation this is!! How can I get in and live in that dirty house in that dust pit that has been empty for six weeks and all my walls and carpets in the house have been ripped off? It's ridiculous.!!! They said it would be completed by tomorrow, otherwise, they should have contacted me in advance. Because I have to extend my current accommodation again now. They never cared about my family's situation. They never contacted me first or told me about the construction situation. I always contacted them first and asked them to proceed with the construction. They should have told me the exact construction schedule. Because my family is now experiencing a very inconvenient situation and paying a lot of extra money. They are not paying any attention to the tenant's situation. I'm not telling a lie. This is true. It's really disappointing. One day I will buy a house. And I will never choose Cornerstone for management for my house.
