Experiencia fantástica: I changed property management companies and this is such a totally different experience. Unfortunately, the old management company wasn't caring for my property at all and was only interested in making money for themselves, so I came into Ad Astra very guarded. They have been patient with me, they communicate, so you know what is going on with your property and they send you the pictures of the repairs and the receipts for the items they buy AND they even returned items and gave me the credit. This speak volumes as to the type of company/business they are. They really look out for their owners as well as the tenants. They have a balance that has been really hard (almost impossible) to find. Highly recommend them!! Keep up the great job, owners appreciate you!

Experiencia fantástica: See now, I was living in black mold and I’m not from this state So to have no one to really talk to and looking for houses, it actually got kinda difficult for me so when I came across Ad Astra, they put all those feelings I was having on the back burner because there was more willing to work with me. They made the move process easy for me to get out of my old house and transitioned into a house I feel I love and I’ve only been here for five days so trust in the process Ad Astra is a professional company. I don’t wanna say the name of my old realtor but yeah I’m glad I met these people because they care about my family and my well-being being a diabetic. Experiencia negativa: It’s Ad Astra that I’m giving 2 stars too but the three men that actually came out to fix the rotted support pillar out front that gets 5 stars. They did a great job and were courteous, knowledgeable and did a great job. The only reason I get anything fixed is because I have to contact the owner of the property. Ad Astra is ONLY the management company and they are wasting the owner’s money. I am still waiting to get the fire alarms, fireplace and electrical fixed in my place. I have rented from the owner for over 10 years and the owner has always been responsive and has had things fixed in a timely manner. I have fixed a lot on my own but some things I just can’t do. I will sit here again patiently, probably until after the New Year, to get these things fixed. Sorry I didn’t earn the gas gift card for my rating but sometimes the truth hurts.

Experiencia fantástica: The townhome was very clean when I toured it for the first time. Office staff is professional and attentive to resident needs. I requested a maintenance call for a few minor issues and the team is quick to respond. The gentleman that serviced the garbage disposal and the stove were polite and professional. All issues were resolved promptly. From this experience I feel confident that any issues in the future will be addressed promptly and I do not have to stress about anything. I love my new home.

Experiencia negativa: Even after terminated lease and several phone calls now we still get emails harassing us that we still owe...this after sveral issues before that were not addressed in a prompt manner.....To answer you Chris 15 phone calls, 6 emails over the stretch of a stressful week and standing in an inch of water in 20 degree weather, and talking to someone besides Austin (who must be family) because anyone that incompitant would be fired , yes our ledger is clear. Not impressed at all, it wasnt until I posted a review that I got some results.....very sad. Well even after all this time Ad Astra is still a fat fail to SEVERAL tenants, still very sad.
Experiencia negativa: You have to pay to view any property they have. That is absolutely ridiculous! They try to say "well you arent paying me but the site we use", ok so then use another site or eat the cost. At the end of the day you're charging a perspective tenant money just to even view the property while not providing any updated 3D tours. Huge sign of a greedy slum lord. Edit: Look how sassy they are. "We need to verify" yeah so does every other company they use something called an ID. I also dont leave a ton of 1 star reviews even if I did everything I said was true which is why these slum lords didnt deny anything.
Experiencia negativa: Paid 45$ for an application fee, provided bank statements and proof of income, I emailed them 3 times. They want your current landlord to pretty much fill out a report card on whether you are a good tenant or not which is extremely invasive and none of their business if you do not have an eviction, bankruptcy or owe the landlord money. If you have an awful experience with your current landlord and dealt with no heat, black mold and countless other things upon move in then why would you want those landlords grading you to your new landlord Such a weird thing to do, and to tell you through email AFTER you pay the application fee! This business isn't BBB accredited and has a F rating and I'm sure half of these positive reviews are either paid for or fake accounts. I can't even get a call back or an email after applying which is unfortunate. Also seeing how these people respond to every negative review is strange. I have yet to see any accountability in the responses which speaks volumes about what this company stands for. I would avoid this company due to their lack of professionalism.

You responded to that email at 6:29am letting us know about your situation stating that you may not be able to get a good rental reference. We responded that we could allow you to get a rental ledger as proof of rental payment history.
Essentially, yes, we expect to do a check on prospective tenants, as disclosed. It should be expected that we will have to check references and rental history.

Experiencia fantástica: Update: I’ve been here for three years and continue to be impressed by Ad Astra’s responsiveness. I moved in earlier this week, and Ad Astra was responsive and took action on a few move-in issues. I was impressed by their streamlined and efficient system for addressing issues. Update: 2 years later, I still live in this property and am extremely impressed with the quality and speed of service when/if help is needed. The staff is prompt, professional, and skilled. Solid communication about estimated times of arrival and promptness of service. I’ve lived quite a few places managed by similar companies. None can compare to Ad Astra.
Experiencia fantástica: I own a few rental properties. I found Ad Astra after a horrible experience with a different property management company. I trust them, and would recommend them to any owner looking for property management. I'm most impressed with the communication I receive from Ad Astra, it is open and honest and they don't shy away from working with me on bad info. Not everything is going to be perfect in real estate, and bad info usually doesn't get better with age. They take a caring and proactive approach to my tenants, and also me.

Christine was warm, supportive, and truly caring throughout the entire process! Along with the entire staff!! . From the moment I applied, I felt like I had a friend and team behind me that genuinely wanted to see me succeed. I called several times, nervous and wanting to make sure everything was done correctly, and every single time I was met with patience, kindness, and guidance. Even when I had to make a last-minute change to the lease date, Ashtyn handled it without hesitation and reassured me it was no problem at all. Experiencia negativa: Read your lease’s and hold them accountable for their end of the bargain, as it stands currently I have emails showing snippets of our lease not being held up by the landlord. There are spiders all around our home and they don’t care, I found what I believe to be venomous spiders in my 4 year old son’s room. Instead of them responding to my emails to sort this out and figure out some clarity they choose to instead ignore their tenants! This to my knowledge is a violation of the lease agreement, as a Memeber of local chamber of commerce I will be asking them for a favor to review what’s happening near and reach out to state senator who has helped me in the past. This is upsetting I am now having to spend time reviewing this because I’ve emailed several times WITH THEM IGNORING ME! If a party doesn’t hold up their obligations in a contract there are repercussions.
Experiencia negativa: I moved in with my boyfriend and they said they did touch up on painting the walls. The walls were terrible, especially in the back room. We repainted them ourselves with the paint that was left. The dishwasher never worked, but I didn't care due to the fact that washing by hand saves a lot of energy bills. I kept the kitchen clean!!!! With every apartment, there will always be those nasty roaches due to shared walls, but we kept them at bay by using ingredients that they will eat and will kill the whole nest. It was way pricey for what you get, and it was a $1200 deposit. When we moved...I am an immaculate cleaner. I WIPED DOWN EVERYTHING. VACUUMED EACH ROOM TWO TO THREE TIMES. MOPPED THE KITCHEN FLOOR, BY HAND. WHAT WE GOT BACK IS only a $140 REFUND...BECAUSE THEY WANTED TO PLACE THE WOOD MOLDING. AND REGROUT THE FLOOR. These two replacements should not have been charged to the renter..., but instead paid by the company because of age and use. I WILL NOT EVER USE Ad Astra again because of this. They are corrupt to the bone. I have always gotten at leat 85% of my deposit back. I hope you read this and save yourself from a company that is determined to rip you off when you are expecting more for the way it was cleaned. I took a whole lot of effortin making sure I got at least $900 back. . There was nothing wrong with the moulding...in fact I thought about asking the person living there to see if they really did. But that was Ad Astra''s their choice to "remodel" that should never be placed on the renter the pay. WE NEVER stained it or Spelt something on it. THEY JUST DIDN'T WANT TO Pay back my REDUND!

Experiencia negativa: Applied for a property, toured it, and submitted everything they asked for. Then they started demanding extra personal info like months of bank statements just to rent a place—not to buy it. Completely unnecessary and invasive. $45 app fee gone with no clear process, no proper communication, and zero respect for applicants’ time. Be careful applying here—feels like a trap to take your money before giving you a real chance.
Javier, without providing proof of assets or income there is nothing we can do for you. We are sorry that you felt providing published, required documents was too much to ask. It's also too much to ask for people to rent a home without providing proof to be able to pay for the rent. Without filling out a full application we cannot help you.
Experiencia negativa: I had a very unfortunate experience, more than a week ago I saw that they published this house on different platforms and I decided to apply with them, it had not even been published for 1 day when I expressed my interest, I made the request, I gathered all the required documentation, and I expressed to them that I needed an answer as soon as possible since I have to move very soon, they responded that in 7 business days, so I thought they would be working on my request and after almost more than a week they responded that they already have a contract. I assume that it is acceptable that they have it but it does not seem right to me at all that they wait so many days to say that they already have a contract when they could have said it from the beginning and thus not wasted my time. I do not find it pleasant at all to play with people's time in this way to later say that if I am interested I can continue looking at properties on the same platform. The same one in which the client is not spoken to realistically about the probabilities that they have of being accepted to rent a property. This is an absolute disappointment.

Experiencia fantástica: Worked with Ad Astra trying to get a rental and unfortunately didn’t get an application in time on a house my family wanted but Ashtyn Florez and his team made it very easy to transfer the application to a different property and was able to ensure that my family would be able to move into that property if needed and got the application approved for that house very quickly. We fortunately got a house that was listed through another company. But would definitely recommend working with Ad Astra if you need a rental and they have something that fits your needs!

When our air quit working in July during one of the hottest weeks of the year they got someone out the next day. Paying rent and communication is super easy online. Definitely recommend Ad Astra if you're looking for a place around KC.

Experiencia fantástica: I recently just moved In a very nice duplex in Shawnee, First I would like to give two thumbs up to the owner. I didn’t have a garage door opener, which I hadn’t noticed when I viewed the property before hand. I requested to have one installed the first week I moved in, by the 2nd week I received a call for someone to come and install my new garage door opener. Now that’s how you keep your tenants happy. Also Ashley you were awesome with your prompt response time. August,23 2021 Ad Astra continue to provide GREAT service to their tenants. I signed another 2 year lease, It's hard to find a nice place to live where the owner and the property manager work together in taking care of your needs with minimal delays. I'm always telling people who's looking for a place to call home go to this website (Ad Astra Realty ).

Experiencia fantástica: From the beginning of the lease process, Ad Astra has been absolutely amazing!! Our agent, Ashtyn, was such a pleasure to work with. He explain everything in thorough detail made sure our move in process went smooth and just the way it was supposed to. We have had one situation where we needed maintenance and it was the best process I have experienced when renting. I put the request in late at night and the next morning, less than 12 hours later, I received a call that they were coming to fix it. Not only do they have some of the nicest rental properties, but the staff is the nicest and so easy to work with!! Highly recommend!

They were highly proficient, professional and concerned that everything was done to my satisfaction. Can't thank Ad Astra enough for their willingness to get this done. Experiencia negativa: Although they respond pretty quickly with maintenance, I had a concern with mold in my bathroom (there is no vent) they just said to open the window. All this finding out I was pregnant on move in and now have an infant in the home Did nothing about the mold. We have had a handful of issues in the year and a half we’ve lived here. It started with move in after the air fresheners they shoved in the vents to hide the stench of dog feces that was left behind the washer and dryer, our door knob kept falling off, walls literally ooze smoke fumes for previous tenant, bathtub was leaking into the ceiling (water damage) and now have a hole in ceiling they have not come to fix and now water heater issues. You’d think they fixed these things or do a better job at cleaning and making the home ready for new tenants can not wait to move. I believe these are issues with company and not there maintenance fault.
Experiencia fantástica: During a recent storm, a tree fell down on my fence. When maintenance came to look at it, they decided to also remove a second tall tree that was hanging way over the yard. Although I was sad to lose another tree, I appreciate Ad Astra’s proactive decision since the tree could have eventually fallen on the house. The crew that came completely cleaned up all the limbs, trees, and even raked up all the leaves that had fallen. They did an amazing job!

Experiencia fantástica: Recently, Phil from Maintenance went the extra mile when servicing our AC unit. He made sure vents were pumping cool air before he left our home. This means a lot especially during an "excessive heat" warning. Thank you for your swift and courteous service!!
Experiencia negativa: Terrible experience!! Submitted my application made 4 times the rent, perfect renters references from the last 6 years. I begged them for a lease with the deposit in hand for a month, for them to tell me that someone else got the house. I called back on the house the next week they told me that house is still available and I could submit another application. This company is a scam that gets their money off applications.

Experiencia negativa: I applied for a property about two months ago and theyre just now getting back to me ! After i already moved ! Do not apply here if you are needing to move quickly! Its a waste of money! Also if youre a property owner do not use this company because they will wait months to even review an application!! So you wont have a tenant for about 5 months if youre using this company !

Should I start with Tasha who likes to sigh at people when they call in asking about the property they applied for or be snide and get upset when a person asks her to repeat the question cause you don't understand? The only reason you didn't get it back is because I didn't want to jeopardize getting a house. She is the most unprofessional person I've ever talked to on the phone. She also doesn't respond to emails when requesting an update on the property. Some people have move-out dates, so they have to know the status of their application. Not responding is just ridiculous and admitting it to my fiance on the phone makes it worse. If I could get ahold of the owner I would about her and file a complaint on her. Thankfully we found another property with another rental company who responds and helps. Ad Astra just likes to take your rental fee application and doesn't care about helping you find a house. good riddance.
Brandon, we have to apologize. I took some time to look into your review and understand what happened. We have refunded your application fee. We are also changing some of our processes because we now understand how you got lost in the shuffle. Again, I apologize because this certainly wasn't up to what we expect for our tenants and prospective tenants.
Experiencia negativa: Save your money & move to a nicer place. If I could give this company 0 stars I would. My heat didn’t work in the freezing cold winter, and my AC didn’t work in the summer. Their solution was to just “buy a space heater and a fan” instead of fixing it. I had outlets that STILL didn’t work the day I moved out. I also had co2 being dumped in my bedroom because they didn’t have the furnace inspected before allowing me to move in. Along with ants and other insects, I also had rats climbing on my stove & eating my groceries. And the best part about all of this is there is 0 accountability. They do not address any of your concerns at all, and if they do—they’ll just flip it on you and make it look like you’re the problem. When our neighbors were dumping trash and dirty diapers in our yard for months, they asked me “why it bothered me so much”—to then I had to call codes to address the issue. They don’t keep the property clean or mowed. Sign a lease with them if you want nothing but issues for 12 months.
Experiencia negativa: Don't even waste your time, honestly. The way they SAY they do things, and what they ACTUALLY do.. are two completely different things. We submitted our application the day a house was available, June 14th, expecting to receive some type of communication in 3-7 days AS THEIR WEBSITE STATES. Well, it now June 27th & I!!!!! had to be the one to call them for an update. After multiple email attempts to reach them with no response, I just had to give them a call, all for them to tell me the house was going to someone else. This was all due to their failure to provide the documents to 'leasing' in a timely manner. So, in the longest story short, their communication is garbage. The reviews are correct. You will receive little to no communication during the application process. You MUST be a psychic to apply with them as you will not be notified of approval or denial. The only reason I followed up today was because we got approved for 2 other properties WITH A DIFFERENT MANAGEMENT COMPANY & we were simply trying to decide which one to go with. Then thought "hmmm, we paid for 3 applications... what happened to the 3rd one?" Then it dawned on me. We hadn't been keeping track of this property BECAUSE THEY LITERALLY JUST TOOK OUR MONEY AND GHOSTED US. Weirdos.
Mai Mai, you are owed an apology and your applications have been refunded. As with another review a few days ago, we know what happened and have taken measures to correct. That doesn't make it any easier on you and it isn't how you should have been treated. We wish you the best.
Experiencia negativa: As an owner, I would never, ever recommend this company to anyone. I would not let them run a lemonade stand. They are poor stewards of other peoples property, and they are the reason property managers should have more oversight from a governing body. They are a black eye on the industry as a whole, and I would not have any of their employees on my team. Firstly, they will take their time in getting a property ready to rent. We gave the keys to them for a house in Overland Park in July of 2023, and it took them over two weeks to get someone in there to get it ready. The only reason they got someone in there was because I had called to see how it was going. We should have switched companies at this point, but were reluctant to since we were out of state. Second were their maintenance fees. When the house was originally cleaned, we were told it would be between 350 and 400$. The day or so before it was supposed to be cleaned, the price went up to 525$. I recently had a property in the area of roughly the same size done for 225$. We had the same issues with the gutters. for two houses the quoted us a 350-450$. I emailed them back and told them I wanted an exact amount before proceeding. That was in the fall of 2023, and I still haven't heard anything back yet. However, we had both homes' gutters' done by our new property managers maintenance crew, and they did both homes and billed us 182$. The only other item I will mention here was an issue we had with a water leak. One of the upstairs bathrooms leaked into the kitchen below, causing heavy staining on the ceiling. Their idea to correct the problem was to just paint over it. I emailed and called them back and told them to locate the leak and cut into the ceiling an d inspect for mold. Finally after a month or so, they emailed back and said their plumber found the leak, which turned out to be incorrect. This was really the straw that broke the camels back. And yes, our new property manager cut up into the ceiling, located the leak, patched it, sanded, and painted. I will also say that they are horrible when it comes to responding to emails and do not like to answer or respond to VM's very much either. If you are looking for a quality property manager for your rentals, Ad Astra is not it. Spend some extra money and get someone that will protect your investment.
Experiencia fantástica: So we had an issue with a backed up sink in our kitchen. On a Saturday night. At 9pm. Yeah, we have all been there! We put in a work order and called Ad Astra on Sunday morning- they had Joe from Razor Rotor there within an hour!! He was communicative, quick- he solved the problem!! Big props to him and Ad Astra for making that happen on a Sunday! Also, a big thank you to Leah in customer support over there at Ad Astra- she is always very positive and great at following through for you :)

Experiencia negativa: Currently renting from then, sewage has flooded our house for the second time and it took over 24 hours just to get the drain unclogged.. then the cleaning service they sent 24 hours later could only clean the concrete not the carpet and our belongings. We’ve asked Tasha for help over and over again and she just hung up on my gf after we called the emergency line because we can’t breathe in our house. Rent at your own risk. This place is a nightmare. Our house has had flooding issues for the 5 years we lived here in so many different ways, gutters over full and pouring down the house leaking through the foundation into the basement for 2 weeks and I had to clean it all up myself, and they never fixed any of the issues. Terrible management. Stay CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY.

Experiencia fantástica: This management group is fantastic. They are extremely responsive to any issues you may have, and the maintenance team is incredible. Everybody we came in contact with was extremely helpful and friendly, and they always fixed any issues we had. Their portal makes it very easy to pay rent or request maintenance, and they are great at staying in contact with you through any experienced issues. I highly, highly encourage anybody thinking about renting a property through Ad Astra to go ahead with it.

Ad Astra has GREAT communication and follow-through, which is really hard to find for a company of this size. The application and move-in process was simple, but thorough. The property was very clean upon move in and the online management system is smooth. The only time we had a minor maintenance issue it was taken care of within literally 3-4 hours. Ike did a fantastic job and even fixed something else he noticed while here too. Highly recommend!
Experiencia negativa: Let’s be mature and deal with allegations opposed to my past review history which hands out 5 stars and 1 star reviews. Deal with the allegations. Once you show before and after pictures show the actual invoices from the companies and not the 1,000 dollar fictitious ones made by ad astra. For 3 months they would not replace stair railing I had young children that had to be stuck in rooms because of the danger of having stairs with no railing and they didn’t replace until they found out I wasn’t renewing lease.f they outsource maintenance and charge excess for the work. A few times a maintenance worker himself told me what was wrong only for me to get a bill with more work having claimed to be done. They charge exorbitant amounts for maintenance on top of what the maintenance companies charge them. Extortion ring on the side of maintenance. They charged me for a carpet clean and a “deep clean” bombast language to boost payment. Tenant law states these things are mandatory to be done after a tenant moves out this is against tenant/ landlord law after you move out because it’s automatically incurred as a cost of renting and the carpet was in the same state it was when I moved in. Avoid and deal with private owners without the hassle of middle men trying to make a profit for nothing.
Mr. Baker, you are upset we withheld your deposit. I'd be happy to post the move-in and move-out pictures on here, if that helps your review readers. Further, you agreed in your lease to clean the carpet when you leave, you did not. Lastly, reading all your negative reviews of businesses I'm not surprised we are the latest. We wish you the best as you move forward.
Experiencia negativa: We went on a tour to one of their properties located in KCMO and it was awful. Here are the pictures of the property. You want 1.1k a month for this property that has leaks, warped floors, a diaper thrown into a closet, black mold underneath the kitchen sink, a garage was flipped into a bedroom with a hole in the ceiling and the only door to get to the back yard nailed up, boarded up, and stick up. And don't even get me started on the fact there was police tape still surrounding. Oh and of course the best part, one of the front windows having a HUGE hole in it and it was patched up with blue painters tape. I am so horribly disgusted with you all. This is why companies and landlords as a whole deserve to have more regulations against them. You don't care about people's safety, you only care about your own personal paychecks.

The administration and maintenance staff have been exceptional in our onboarding and maintenance request. They are top notch.
Experiencia fantástica: We reached out to Ad Astra’s maintenance team to have a repair done & were responded to within minutes of our request, mind you this was after hours. As soon as we provided all the information needed to complete the request, we were contacted about when a member would be there to repair our issue. The work took no longer than an hour & even after it was done, we were reached out to again as a check in on how the work went. We really appreciate how fast and communicative the team has been with our requests. Thank you!

Experiencia positiva: Not my first time renting through a property management company. A lot of maintenance is going to be tied to what the actual owner of the property agrees to..so some bad reviews are valid but I wouldn’t necessarily put that on Ad Astra. ♀️ Our experience started a little rocky, it’s very apparent whoever was preparing our home missed their last step because the first day we moved in there was a mess in the garage with building materials and the basement room was (is) not painted. There are some spots unfinished in the master and the full bath but we just sucked it up and finished it for them. But anyway, we brought this to Ad Astras attention and they promptly addressed the situation. We’ve had a couple other small things come up and they been timely and efficient with both. At a month in, I don’t currently have any complaints. :)

Experiencia negativa: The worst company to deal with if you're a tenant. I've had issues for over a year. Lack of timeliness and flat out refusal to fix issues. They made me wait over a week to fix a broken air conditioner in the middle of summer last year. Outside Temps were in the high 90s and inside Temps were similar. I had to beg them to put in window units after staying in a hotel, which they didn't reimburse. They had a handyman come assess black specks from the ice maker in the freezer. The handyman stated it was black mold. They told me it wasn't black mold and I've had to just cover the ice maker with cling wrap. The fridge is 25 years old at least. Now the garage door isn't working. They sent me an Ace Hardware video to troubleshoot it myself... The video doesn't even address the problem and even states you should have a professional come do some of these fixes. Their contract specifically states I can't fix things on my own or hire people to fix things so I'm stuck. Worst company I've ever worked with and I need people to know.

Ashtyn Florez, a leasing agent and our property manager, and Andrew in the maintenance department are quick to respond, so kind, understanding, courteous and respectful of potential renters and now-tenants! I'm a huge fan of their work and would recommend them to anyone. The property we landed in is BEAUTIFUL and extremely well maintained. If you're thinking about renting from them, GO FOR IT! The application process is extremely thorough, but I discovered it's for good reason: They want their tenants to be responsible and respectful of the property.

Experiencia negativa: This company does not take care of their properties. I own a home next door to one of their rentals. Their rental has been vacant for months. Yard has not been mowed all summer. A mattress is leaning up against the front porch and trash all over. I’ve called multiple times and was assured it was being taken care of right away. Unfortunately it has not. Other neighbors have complained as well. Very disappointing!
As we explained to you on the phone (or one of your neighbors) we took over control of this property while under legal proceedings. We are not permitted by law to take unilateral action. We are not permitted by law to remove a tenants' property by unilateral action. We are here to make the problem better, that's why the owner hired us. But if you have problems, call your local political leaders. We have finally secured possession of the home. We are now waiting on the property owner to give us funds to do the work.
