When the City of Rockford announced that our building was to be razed and our business relocated for a flood control project we were really unsure and scared. For about three months I dealt with about a dozen agents who were pretty clueless about dealing with the City. When Melissa walked in the shop we hit it off right away. After talking with her she makes you feel comfortable and needless to say, Melissa helped ease all our fears. As time has gone on I've become less impressed with people in the business world however the next day after our first visit she calls and tells me she talked to ten or twelve department heads from the City to find out as much of the details of their involvement in the move and I think my mouth fell open, I've never seen anyone show that much "HUTZPAH" in my life. She is definitely someone you want in your corner. At the shop I see about a dozen or so real estate agents a week and forty of our sixty five years located across the street for one of the leading agencies in Rockford and I would recommend Melissa over anyone of those great folks, hands down. The one quality that sets Melissa apart from most is her genuine empathy, compassion and kindness. While going through the process she had numerous others interested in our spot but she remained with us. She worked with us and our attorney on the lease, helping taper and fine tune some parts and shortening the term which I know was not beneficial to her bottom line. I considered multiple agents, and ultimately chose Dana for her market knowledge and "we can absolutely do this" positive energy. Other agents kept telling me to lower my asking price to make for a quick sell, but Dana took the time to listen to what I wanted and gave me a plan to get there on day one. Another bonus was her connection to the local economy. She has so many great connections for any service (lawn care, paint, plumbing, cleaning--you name it, Dana knows someone). She kept me accountable towards my goals with frequent texts and calls to make sure I was working towards our agreed plan. "Did you get the closet door back on" "How are things coming with the yardwork?" "Has ___ stopped by to do the ___" etc. All in all, she is an excellent realtor. Thank you, Dana!
