Experiencia negativa: Our experience with Del Real Estate as buyers was ultimately disappointing. Although we are not first-time homebuyers, we purchased this property sight unseen due to relocation constraints and relied heavily on our agent to help us identify any red flags. While we did receive an initial video walkthrough—which was helpful—there was no final walkthrough offered or conducted, despite our concerns. When we brought it up, we were discouraged from pursuing it and just encouraged to sign the form so the sale could proceed. We now deeply regret not having had that final opportunity to assess the property. After moving in, we discovered multiple serious safety and code issues: open electrical junction boxes in the attic, mislabeled and mismatched breakers, unresponsive GFCI outlets, and apparent unpermitted structural modifications. The electrical wiring is dangerously inconsistent and not done by electricians. At one point, we nearly injured ourselves trying to remove a ceiling fan because we could not isolate power to the room—power remained live despite flipping the labeled breakers. We had explicitly asked for a licensed electrician to evaluate the entire property based on gaps in the inspection report, but that request was not properly followed through. Somehow only the garage was inspected. When we raised these concerns again, they were dismissed with reassurances that “all GFCIs would be fixed and everything brought up to code” and that only the garage had issues. Sadly, this was not the case when we moved in as we found out in our first week living there. We’ve since had to make urgent safety repairs at our own expense.
