Negative experience: Stay away from this company, they do not conduct there own maintenance like they say they do, they’ll just have the owner of the property send people to the house without letting you know and I woke up to a guy ripping the kitchen flooring up. Worse management than when I was in military housing. Trust me, no rental house is worth dealing with these people. Here’s a picture of mold they were hiding and painted over (I did not rip this up a contractor did and I stopped him to take a picture). Can’t imagine what it looks like behind the other baseboards.

Negative experience: I’m am a tenant with this company and when I tell this was the biggest mistake of my life I should have check the reviews. For months I was in a property that was not up to code the electrical panel was outdated and keep coming off they did not care and took there time to get the repair done not only that the breaker still shuts off in the house you cannot have simple things plug in .by the way we was extremely cold during the winter freeze This house had a huge water leak in the same spot 3 times that spike my water bill up extremely high and left people and kids without water and force us to smell our own toilet smells Yesterday when another water leak happened the worker stated why don’t you fix the water leak I responded THAT IS NOT MY JOB AND YOU ASSUME I KNOW HOW TO FIX IT THATS HOW COCKY AND HEARTLESS THEY IS As of today I’m still without water because of them and it’s been days This is some of the evidence down below but i have a lot more

Negative experience: If I could give a negative rating I would. This rental service company is so unprofessional and biased. The property I am renting is supposedly "pet friendly" i paid a 400 dollar pet deposit and I pay 25 dollars each month added to my rent. Our fence is broken and not connected in the back. I wrote a Maintenance order and it never got fixed. My dog got ran over because she keeps getting out. Vet said she is okay but will have hip issues. None of our windows open and this is a HUGE safety issue. Once again the issue was not addressed. My boyfriend was a burn victim and when I called the office to tell them this was a safety hazard they made a "joke" about how there is a front door....Im grateful they have been fortunate to not get caught in a house fire. Because it is no laughing matter. I will not be doing business with this company in the future.

Negative experience: Stay away from these people. They don’t maintain their apartments. Full of cockroaches and they don’t send any pest control. The toilet is leaking. That leak they fixed after 45 days. I need to throw my laptop and microwave because of the roaches. The owner Mr Creel also never took any responsibility for this incident. He doesn’t reply. He should replace his stuff specially an African American woman who was responsible for all this. She use F word when we can to complain. Don’t use them. They will never let this know to the owner also. Feel bad for the owners who trust on this rental service.

Negative experience: My bank account was debited TWICE in April for rent. It is AUGUST and I am still receiving notes on my door (because they don’t know how to use email) that I’m late on my rent! I’ve been banned from paying online so I’ve paid rent via their requirements since May, have copies of every receipt and was told that my lease would not be renewed after 2 years. Never had a late payment and only 2 maintenance requests, that were not completed. Do not rent from this company.

Negative experience: Worst experience ever. People in the office are horrible to deal with. They send people to your house with no notice. Very scary that all there contractors have keys to your house and they don't tell you that upfront. Horrible in every way. Would not recommend to anyone. The contractors had to show up several times to fix the simplest things, they never had what they needed. Then would come back and forget what they needed.

Negative experience: If I could give 0 stars, I would. This is the most greedy company I've ever dealt with and they will do anything to make sure you don't get your security deposit back. My family and I lived in a property for 2 years. We took good care of it as if it was our own. Over time the floor had started shifting very noticeably to where it was even breaking the vinyl flooring. We had let them know, for documentation. When it was time to move out they racked up all these ridiculous "repairs" that just so happens to take all of our deposit plus more. I had heard they did things like this before, but I always had given them the benefit of the doubt. But now I see. I do not recommend doing business with them. It is absolute greed.

Fantastic experience: We've rented from Creel Rental Services for five years and have always had prompt and reliable service, especially with any repairs needed on the house. We recently moved into another one of Creel Rental Services managed properties, and we absolutely love the house and the neighborhood. Kelly told me which properties were available, and Lindsey guided me through completing all the paperwork. Lauren was also such a great help during the process. Clara helped with two separate maintenance requests, and each time, service personnel were sent out the same day. Everyone from Creel Rental has been consistently helpful and friendly. Great Teamwork Ladies!

Fantastic experience: 5 Stars!!! I just completed a contract with Creel Investments Rental Services in which they provided rental management for a home in Nederland, Texas. Their professional services and attention to my needs as a client as well as taking good care of the renter was impressive and appreciated. Negative experience: Rented for 6 years payed rent ahead of time. Never had a problem. Except when first moved in was not painted previous renters had garbage in all the sheds would not fix ac had to buy window units. Was promised that i would have the opportunity to buy so i got all my ducks in a row to buy VA would not approved the property management and owner started bullying me to get out early without helping me to find another rental property and mind you my rent was paid eairly. But management is not the Christian people they clam to be. Would never recommend these people to anyone. They are rude and the are probably just laugh at this comment. Stay away if you can most unpleasant people i have evwr delt with.

Negative experience: rented from them 2 years never had any major problems . Always fixed things in a timely manner ! Staff always polite for the most part , which is why I gave them 2 stars . However when it comes down to receiving your deposit back you have NO luck . The reviews you see are absolutely correct . As stated earlier I stayed in my apartment for 2 years with a toddler! looking in the apartment you would not be able to tell at all ! Left the apartment in VERY VERY good condition! I was told before moving out that all I was responsible for doing was cleaning up that touching up paint and cleaning carpet is normal protocol after a tenant moves out . I did just that with pictures and videos to show just how good of a condition the apartment was left in . I received my deposit letter back they overly charged for EVERYTHING just so that it could amount up to the $450 plus a little extra . They even attempted to charge me for a hole in the ceiling that was from a leak from their upstairs apartment that they were aware of . I called and spoke with them about the charges and immediately the first resolution stated was “ I’ll talk to the owner and see about getting the amount owed down to $0 because you were a good tenant of ours” that right there let’s me know that that’s what they planned to do all along , they just wanted to keep the $450 deposit. Which isn’t a problem for me but I would never rent through them again .

Fantastic experience: My hot water exploded within the next day i contacted Lyndsey with the maintenance department. She sent Steve the maintenance man, who immediately identified the problem and replaced it right away. I have always had an excellent experience with Creel. Negative experience: this company is the worst company I have ever rented from in my life. This company was sent multiply requests for things that needed to be reported and within in 30 days they never came out and when they did come the person was not qualified to do the services that were requested the home that I was renting did not have proper heating nor cooling the wiring was not up to code also the how was not leveled at all

Negative experience: As a property owner, I used Creel years ago, and can't believe they're still in business! I noticed they're calling themselves "Rental Services" now.My husband and I had more that a dozen properties with them, plus an RV park. We didn't like how they handled, or didn't handle, some issues and would make an appointment with the owners/managers to try to rectify. I'd leave thinking things would soon be better, but no, they would only pacify us with saying what we wanted to hear. Finally got rid of them, after they did this about 3 times. Some issues I had with them were no call backs after leaving messages, they were never available to answer my calls. Work orders not fulfilled, and lying to me. One positive, thus the 2 stars, was they're very friendly, but unfortunately not very sincere!

Negative experience: Do not ever rent from these people. Their whole thing is giving the actual homeowners loop holes to keep from having to fix anything and when the management in the company states in a phone call that something is covered, when something goes wrong with that item they will conveniently forget they ever made that statement leaving you either without appliances or having to fix or replace them at your own cost. And keep in mind I'm speaking of an oven something you typically need for cooking. Yes they're lease states that none of your appliances are covered for repair while you are renting, but in this case I was told by management that my stove and oven were covered because they are built into the home. Again, now conveniently she does not recall making that statement. This is definitely a renter beware situation. I will now make sure and only communicate via email so they cannot "forget" their statement. Response to reply: And as can been seen in the review below, my husband he went back and gave a good review. Yet once again, here it is that an employee makes statements that are conveniently forgotten. And that's bad enough but it's even worse that said employee is a member of the management team. And as far as Lindsey in maintenance stating that I told her I had an email, I never told her that I had an email. What I said was "I'm sorry, I'm trying to read through my emails with Kelly to see if it is in one of them or if it was just a statement she made during a phone call".... So on that note, maybe you should train your maintenance employees to pay better attention to what is being said to them. And nothing I have stated in this review has been untrue. Yes, you guys did great in June/July completing the orders fixing things thatwe're broken when we moved in and had no way of knowing they were broken when we signed the two documents stating things were not covered but that was only after my husband gave you a bad review calling you slumlords and told you to put yourselves in our shoes. Now we are back to the same thing, statements made verbally by a member of Creel management that were untrue and not being fulfilled. So I will say again, only rent from this company if you feel like fighting to get maintenance requests fulfilled. Response to 2nd reply: if you people actually took the time to read my review it states in it plainly that I am upset with the fact that your members of management's hanging in Creole management Make verbal statements that they forget. So basically I'm telling future renters not to take you people at your word because the company is a bunch of liars, which was only made more evident when your maintenance supervisor Lindsay claimed I made statements that she took only the words she wanted to hear and repeated.

Positive experience: We had a few issues upon initial move in but Creel stepped up and made good, even followed up with emails and phone calls. They went above board to make good by us as best they could. One thing of Note, they are at Homeowners mercy on things that they can and can not fix... this ties Creels hands and unfortunately is a downside to handling some issues, especially with a couple that we had and sti have. At this time we have nothing but good things to say about our experience so far.... hopefully this continues, but will update to reflect any changes if any in the future. Would recommend them

Negative experience: These people are shady. Their properties are run down and they do not maintain them. They do not respond to work orders when entered. When I moved out they not only kept my full deposit, but they also falsely claimed that I owed more for made up stuff and for 'damages' that were existing when I moved into the property. When I attempted to dispute these charges, they ignored my responses and sent my account to collections with out notifying me. DO NOT rent from these people. I did send Kelly those pictures you that you claim that I never sent. She even responded to my email. But after that has never contacted me again. Why is that?

Negative experience: Beware! This company is the face of actual individuals that own properties. If you choose to rent a property "from Creel," know that unless you know who the actual owner of the property is, you are at the mercy of Creel. A quick check to the appraisal district's website with the address of the property should reveal the actual owner. Keep that information handy. I lived at a property for approximately 5 years that was owned by an individual (not employing Creel). They sold the property to another individual, who in turn employed Creel to handle the rental. I had already turned in a move out date a few weeks prior to new ownership of property. I was told I would be given a list of move out criteria to go by. I was never given this information. The only thing that was provided regarding new ownership was a flyer wedged between front door informing tenants of new ownership on said date. When I turned in my key to the management company, I was able to observe the actual office. It was complete chaos. I was asked to write my address down ON A STICKY NOTE for forwarding my deposit check to me. After almost a month, I received a Disposition Letter in the mail, along with a check for $288, which was considerably less than half of my deposit ($750). I was charged for items, such as nail holes, scuff on wall where bed touched, ceiling fans that weren't spotless, vent a hood filter, a loose electrical outlet (Yes. You read correctly.), ac filter (which I knew I did not change), and 2 light fixtures that belonged in closets that weren't secured. They claimed they had to clean a bedroom again. I made sure not only were the floors clean, but also the baseboards and also above the doorframes. There was an outrageous charge for paint and spackle to repair very small nail holes! I asked if they expected me to paint the entire unit, not even having any information on the color of paint?! I also left them brand new, still in the package lights for the bathroom that cost around $12. This was not acknowledged by Creel at any point. I contacted office and expressed the unsatisfactory refund on my deposit. I asked them how they could require me to know what their criteria was when I never received a move out check list. I actually used the old owner's list as a guideline. In speaking with prior owner, they advised me that at no point did they consider nail holes and scuff marks on walls as neglectful and above and beyond normal wear and tear. Creel had no explanation, other than they were the new owners now. After contacting the actual owner on my own, and discussing with them the unfortunate situation, I was able to receive the majority of my deposit back. If you choose to enter into a contract with Creel, know that my experience was dealing with money grubbers, and the likelihood of ever being treated as an individual, or them using common sense or logic is going to be virtually nonexistent. By being a management company, they are able to filter at their discretion, information regarding your issues pertaining to the property to the actual owner. Basically, their word is the final word. Negative experience: After taking my $600 deposit for not giving them one month notice at the end of my lease they charged me another almost $600 for stuff that was already broken when I got it. Plus it had black mold in the vents. These people are crooks don't let the Bible verses on the wall fool you.

Fantastic experience: I have rented from Creel Investments for 2 years. They were very accommodating when I put in service requests (AC repaired in the heat of summer in less than a week, and leaking sink fixed same day). Rent is very reasonable for the area that I am located in. For those dissatisfied with your property, just remember you get what you pay for. If the property is cheap, and older, odds are, there will be issues (issues with the property, not the service). If you move into a newer property and inspect as you tour, you will be just fine. I plan on continuing to rent from Creel.

Negative experience: I have been living at a rental place in port Arthur that creel manage, the house is old , no insulation, the back wall is bad, the owners son came to do the porch, and did a piss poor drunk type of job, the job not complete it looks trashy, and we have never been late on rent, plus they have the nerve to go up $100 a month on rent, once the least is up, we gone, and I will do another review posting the address and advising people not to move in this house, your kids will freeze in the winter because all the heat will go out of the house due to cracks that they wont fix, and in the summer time the heat will kill you, all your air going out the house, creek does a poor job managing and maintaining properties .

Negative experience: The staff is terrible. they ignore you and refuse your calls. They DO NOT work with tenants. I have been waiting to get paid back for a leak that i had to pay for because they didnt answer and then i was told that they have no history of it.

Fantastic experience: Our real estate company has multiple properties in Beaumont all of which are managed by Creel Investments. The service offered by Creel is outstanding to mention the least. The staff is very patient, knowledgeable and really care about the property owners and their tenants. Great rental company.

Negative experience: They are horrible at management and executive decisions. I'm sure it's great for property owners but it is terrible for renters. My husband and I rent a house through Creel. We had electrical issues and we are still having them because Creel can't rally their owners to honor the lease. It's frustrating because we have been waiting over a month now to get this problem fixed. They keep telling me "well we are struggling getting a hold of the owner". THAT IS LITERALLY YOUR ONLY ROLE! And now the woman I spoke with is screening my calls, I know this sounds dramatic, because it is, but it is absolutely true. Just some other random things i found frustrating: They never gave us our garage door opener. When we came up to visit and view properties they wouldn't send someone out to help us the only weekend we could come down (We in moved from another state). We had to go through a realtor, which is stupid in retrospect on my part because that means we are paying for that fee as a part of why our rent was so high for a worn out house. THEY DO NOT CORNER THE MARKET!!! Look on Facebook market, or groups or just drive around!! Don't get sucked in and think they are your only choice because it isn't worth it! I can't wait for this year to be over so we can get out from under this company. ** Update we are out now and here was my leaving Review.... My husband and I are good tenants. We paid everything on time, we let them know if there was an emergency, we paid for some one to clean the house before we left and we did a final sweep too. We did nothing to warrant not getting our deposit back. If you are this deep and think I'm being dramatic feel free to check out my page, we are clean, neat people who care about the place we live. DO NOT give this company the benefit of the doubt. They will take your money and charge it out item by item things that were a problem before or things that are just normal wear and tear. We also never got calls back about maintenance if it wasn't something that could damage the house. Our AC went out in our second month and it took them over a week and a half to get someone to look at it, and another week to repair it, in the 100 degree weather. We had electrical issue, our hot water heater went out and flooded. We spent a good chunk ($1250) of change on a mediocre house and then we were blamed when they showed back up to a mediocre house. Seriously they will try to charge you when you leave and they will not give back the deposit. I regret giving them the benefit of the doubt when we moved down here. Pay for a hotel and drive around town you will find a better property that way. Seriously it's not worth it. You could even message me and I will add you to those groups my-self. Don't let their Christian music and signs in the office fool you, these are not Godly people. ** Second Update: We have now lived under a different rental company for a year, who we love by the way, and I still get furious when I think about Creel. They are theives, and crooked people they stole my money and pretended it was our fault. Also I can't confirm this but I drove past our old house after Harvey and it didn't look like they tore out the sheet rock so seriously be careful.

Negative experience: I'm pretty sure I was robbed for my application fee. They had no intention of allowing me to lease the unit. They never even allowed me to view the unit. Luckily I knew how to contact the homeowner directly. Their representatives are rude and will lie to your face with no remorse. When caught in a lie about your rental history, they will not apologize, just simply hang up on you.

Negative experience: Absolutely terrible management! They don't want to fix anything wrong with the houses. More of a "take it as it is" situation. Even when I went to view a house I called and gave notice ahead of time that I was on the way. But no, I drive completely across town and find out they gave the key to another couple so I was forced an hour to even get to look at the house.

Negative experience: I've been in my apartment for 1 year and 2 months. When i first moved in American Real Estate was over the property. Its was a very good experience. About 8 months later Creel took over. My A/C unit was leaking water onto my walls and carpet. They sent a tech out , he didnt do absolutely anything to the unit or anything about the water that was everywhere over my carpet and walls. I have 3 small kids. The oldest is 5 , the problem was not resolved so i called and complained again. The next worker came out and cut a hole in my wall & told me that his UNCLE (who DOESN'T WORK FOR THE COMPANY) would fix the hole. Still (going on 2 weeks later) my A/C isnt fixed. I had to dry my own carpet before mold started to build. Now i have a hole in my wall that i didnt do. & my A/C still isnt fixed. Remind you i have 3 small kids in the home 2 has asthma & the other has bronchitis. I called 6 hours later to see if they were still sending someone out now they are claiming they're in a meeting, and they don't know if the tech would be out today.My thermostat is reading 83 degrees right now. Very very poor service! Everything about Creel is money money money, but they DO NOT do their part as to fixing anything in their properties. I know others that rent from Creel as well & they have the same issue about them. My mother in law moved into her apartment with a broken window & they didn't deduct anything from her rent or anything. She moved in paying full price & asked if the issue could be resolved before moving in. The issue wasnt fixed until AFTER HURRICANE HARVEY, which was a month after they moved in & the problem was only fixed because we called numerous times about it. Creel is full of it, they're going to lose so much buisness by running things like how its been ran.
