Negative experience: I don't know how or why they got my email address since I live in NH and have NEVER shown any interest in Boston real estate! After receiving NINE emails from Patrick Reagan (without a response from me), one would think the guy would give up. If I receive ONE more, your company will be reported to the BBB for harassment. So cease & desist!

Fantastic experience: In 15 years of renting, I have never had a broker half as good as Courtney Wood. She was extraordinarily transparent and communicative, and we always felt like we had all the relevant information as soon as it became available (24/7 communication!). We faced a difficult move because of a family emergency and pet restrictions, but Courtney advocated for us non-stop until we found we the perfect apartment. She was truly invested in us finding a good home and had our backs throughout the process. By the end of our journey it felt like she was our friend as well as our broker. I cannot recommend Courtney Wood highly enough. Thank you for everything, Courtney!

Negative experience: A broker helped us find an apartment sight unseen because we were moving across the country. The lease we rented while using BSC as our broker representative ended up not being as advertised and was delivered to us in terrible condition. Our broker did almost nothing to help us. They said they had never seen a unit delivered in such bad condition and would ask their coworkers for advice. And then we never heard from the BSC broker again. I ended up doing all the legwork to force our new property manager (not a BSC property) to bring the unit up to code by doing all my own work to figure out what Massachusetts laws were being broken, contact the city code enforcement about violations, and get in touch with tenant legal aid groups. Our broker didn't even point us in a direction that would help and simply stopped talking to us. I don't believe our broker provided us services that would justify their fee, so I would not use BSC again.

Fantastic experience: I had the immense pleasure of working with Courtney Wood. I reached out to her several months in advance for a September 1 move in date. She continuously checked in with me in the months leading up to signing my lease and continuously advocated for me throughout the process. She responded quickly, and gave great advice on the rental market. Without her help, I would not have been able to secure an apartment I was happy with. I can not recommend her enough!

I’ve moved throughout the city many times and I have never met an agent as knowledgeable, honest and dedicated to their clients as Courtney. She is extremely responsive, straightforward and fights for her clients every step of the way. This rental season has been extremely competitive (according to the Boston Herald, moreso than any other year), and although I am not a traditional rental applicant, Courtney helped me secure an incredible Boston apartment. She is the kind of real estate agent that will always look for creative solutions to get you into a great housing situation and will show up every single step of the way. I’ve contacted and worked with many real estate agents in the Boston area and she is by far the best- if you are looking for a rental, contact her asap!

Fantastic experience: Our family was pressed into looking for an apartment in Boston on short notice. After 2 real estate firms that we spoke with "ghosted us", we decided to look at reviews of agents instead of companies. When we got to those for Courtney Woods, it seemed too good to be true. Almost all of her reviews stated that she was the "best" they have ever worked with. Well, truth be told, that was an understatement. Courtney communicated with us all thru the first weekend with different options and searches. Fantastic experience: Finding an apartment in Boston is so difficult to do on your own, and there are a scant amount of brokers you can trust... But let me say: you can absolutely trust these guys. My broker, David, was kind, always quick to reply, and only wanted to make sure I was happy. He curated selections for me, and helped me find an apartment almost immediately. Fantastic experience: This review is for our experience with Clovis Alves. My husband and I were moving from California with our senior dog. We flew to Boston the Saturday before we started driving across the country to look at apartments and sign a lease. I had a few phone conversations with Clovis prior to this visit regarding my list of "must haves”. He was very understanding and prepared an itinerary for our visit. He met with us on a Saturday and spent the entire day showing us apartments. We cannot thank him enough for his patience with 2 sleep deprived, tired and anxious individuals. We went back to California to finish packing up, fully satisfied with our choice of apartment. Clovis took away all the stress of finding an apartment. Fantastic experience: My fiance and I cannot recommend Clovis Alves enough. He was so helpful with navigating the difficult Boston real estate market. He was attentive and realistic with our very specific needs. He maintained a balance with respect towards our needs and sense of realism with the market. In addition to our requirements, he was very respectful with the fact that my fiance is transitioning to Boston from Western Massachusetts. We worked with him for about a month and when we were finally ready to do showings, he was able to schedule four in one day for us to fit our busy schedule and we were able to find our dream place that day. Fantastic experience: I recently had to re-locate to Boston for work and Sam Spears made the painful re-lo process so much easier. Sam worked to coordinate 8 showings in one Saturday (during November: off cycle in Boston aka hardly any inventory let alone inventory with my wish list amenities) after finding the perfect apartment Sam helped me to fill out all of the necessary paperwork and then negotiated with the other agent to ensure I had everything I needed for a seamless lease. For days leading up to the showings and after submitting my application Sam was extremely responsive and available, texting me back quickly even late at night and on the weekends. Sam made the most difficult part about a re-lo a breeze, highly highly recommend working with him!

Fantastic experience: Alice and I are so grateful to have worked with Brennan Quackenbush to find our eventual apartment in the Cambridge area. Fantastic experience: I was in search of a new home for my partner and I for a November move-in. I worked with a few realtors from different realty companies, but decided to stick with Boston City Properties since they seemed the most legit. Fantastic experience: I highly recommend! Plutarco was very helpful and invested in helping us find an apartment. Diligently sorted through a huge list of places. We ended up not getting a place through them, though. Boston real estate is incredibly territorial, and the place we found in Cambridge was listed by another agency that wouldn't work with other agents. I still recommend Boston City Properties.

Fantastic experience: I moved to Boston from Louisiana in April and ended up working with Sam Boudrot to find a place to get my foot in the door here. He was incredibly helpful, answered all of my questions about renting and housing in Boston (being someone completely unfamiliar with the housing market in this area), and was very responsive and active in helping me find a place. Fantastic experience: I found Boston City Properties through Yelp and decided to reach out for our move since they had great reviews. My husband and I worked with Plutarco Castellanos, who did a ton of work to help get us into our new apartment. We’ve lived in Brighton for almost 8 years in the same apartment and wanted to move closer to the city after my husband got a new job, but we weren’t sure what area or type of apartment worked for us. We’ve considered moving a few times in the past, so we know what a headache real estate can be in Boston and we wanted someone who could help make the process easier, and Plutarco did just that! On multiple weekends, Plutarco drove us around the city to see a variety of apartments in different locations. He is responsive, easy going, professional, helpful and friendly – so easy to work with! It took us a long time to decide on a location and an apartment and we had to put the search on hold for a while in July. He was patient through it all and once we were finally ready to lock down a place, he was on top of it right away. I was moving to Boston from out of state with my girlfriend and really was not sure about how to rent an apartment other than just looking online on different sites. I'm moving my entire life from London to Boston in a month - and with not much time to get things sorted (I was only in Boston for 36 hours), Clovis lined up 8 different properties to view. After the 4th, we cancelled the rest because the 4 I toured were all nearly perfect. Prior to meeting him, I had been speaking with a number of other brokers who would take over a week to reply to an email - with Clovis I was getting replies at 11pm - such a nice touch. Real Estate has an up-and-down reputation for obvious reasons, but I was made to feel so comfortable and most importantly, Clovis advised me on the areas and we ended up signing for a great condo. It's worth noting that it wasn't the most expensive - he wasn't just looking for the biggest commission check. Cannot thanks BCP and Clovis enough - considering I'm looking to stay in Boston for the next 5-10 years, there is only one person I will be calling from now on. My wife and I (and dog) are relocating from out of state and doing research online I quickly found out how much of a headache the Boston rental market is. On top of that all the Reddit posts complaining about how terrible brokers/agents are and that finding a good one is a near impossibility. First we worked remotely with Seth to narrow down what we were looking for (wants/needs) and he tailored the MLS to this. We then schedule a time for my wife and I to visit and view some condos with Seth weeks in advance. I then had a sudden change in schedule that moved our visit up to only days in advance. At a drop of a hat Seth accommodated our schedule and lined up a bunch of viewings over the course of a few days. On top of that he arrange transportation and walked us around the neighborhoods we were most interested in to give us a feel for the environment. He also provided recommendations for things to do while we were in town. Unfortunately we were unable to find a place in the neighborhood we really wanted to live, but that wasn't on a lack of effort on Seth's part. It was mostly due to having a dog (appears to be an issue at private condos) and limited availability at the time we wanted to sign a lease. We did find a place however that we have now been living in for a couple months and love it. It was through a different brokerage and Seth helped out on all the paper work. He received his portion of the brokerage fee and I figured well it was nice knowing you Seth...not so fast! In anticipation of having to get rid of stuff to fit into a smaller apartment I asked the leasing brokerage for a floor plan. Unfortunately they did not have one and suggested we fly back to Boston to view the apartment again to take measurements. Well that's quite a lot for just the floor plan so we figured oh well. Seth immediately steps in and offers to go to the house and take measurements for us! This was after we had already signed the lease and Seth’s job was done. How about that for service? I couldn't recommend enough working with Seth to sign your next lease. He truly cares about his clients which I think will take him a long way in this industry where there seems to be such a negative perception. My only complaint is that BCP did not have any exclusive listings available in the neighborhood we were most interested in and we were pretty much limited to the MLS. There were a couple other brokerages that did have exclusive listings not on the MLS, but were not willing to do co-broke with BCP. We did not want to jump ship from Seth after how great of a job he had done with us, but at the end of the day we had to find a place that worked best for us. I expressed this concern to Seth, he was very understanding and did his best to find properties not on the MLS. Fortunately for all parties there were no exclusive listings with other brokerages that were worth our time. I did not interact with any of the other folks at BCP, but based on my experience with Seth and reviews of their other employees I could not recommend them enough!

Fantastic experience: Seth went above and beyond all expectations. The task of finding an apartment in Boston was daunting and overwhelming and Seth made it easy and enjoyable. He was in contact almost daily with recommended apartments and good finds. On the day of viewing apartments he even walked with me to the T (my future commute) to see if it was doable. He also worked throughout the weekend to get my application submitted and a lease signed. When describing my experience to my friends (who already live in Boston) they had very different stories with brokers in the past and wish they had my experience. I will be recommending Seth to all my friends and will use him in the future.

Fantastic experience: My girlfriend and I recently moved to Boston from Ireland. We had two weeks to find accommodation and were really struggling. She shared available listings that fit my criteria, complete with regular updates, and then scheduled all the showings for the weekend I was in town to find a place. More so she got me in to see a just-listed place in advance of an open house. As a result I got first look at what was a great place, and I was able to secure it before others had a chance. From there, Mollie and BCP helped shepherd the approval and the lease remotely. In total, the process couldn’t have gone any better. And I came away with a great apartment.

Fantastic experience: We are moving to Boston from out of state and are very unfamiliar with the apartment rental market. I found Boston City Properties through some of their online listings. One of their agents Anthony D'Amato contacted me. He was extremely straightforward and responsive. He took a ton of notes on our preferences and gave us a great deal of foundational information about the renting process and which neighborhoods/ types of properties would best fit our needs. Many of the brokers I spoke to from other agencies were pushy on the phone and did not directly answer my questions. Anthony gave us a very clear game plan, thoroughly answered all of our questions and updated us daily if not more often on possible apartments. We only had a weekend to look at apartments. Anthony wasn't available to show us apartments himself due to a scheduling conflict but fully briefed one of his Luka Modebadze who was able to take us on ton of showings that fit our budget and preferences. Luka was incredibly friendly and flexible. We found a bunch of apartments last minute that we where hoping to see during our short visit and he was able to arrange all the logistics of seeing each apartment and getting between neighborhoods. During a bit of downtime he even gave us a tour of some of his favorite spots in Boston and shared recommendations and tips for our future move. When we settled on an apartment, he coordinated the transaction within a few minutes and followed up with us on all the details related to our apartment application and credit check. He even reached out to the current renters to ask about furniture we were interested in buying. Overall we had a fantastic experience with these two brokers. I was moving from out of state and due to a falling out with a roommate, did not have plans to fly out to look at places. I felt very comfortable renting my place even though I was unable to physically be there during the showing.
