Negative experience: Our experience was extremely disappointing. The property we rented was advertised as renovated, well-maintained, and of a specific size, but the reality was far from what was promised. From the first week, we encountered leaks, mold, and structural issues. The condition and size of the property did not match the listing, and despite repeated complaints, no meaningful action was taken. We paid a €1,500 commission fee to the first rental agent for arranging a three-month lease. After the agency agreement was signed, we were transferred to her co-worker to sign the lease, who turned out to be the landlord’s son—also working for Engel & Völkers. This double role was never disclosed upfront and created a clear conflict of interest. Later, instead of addressing the listing inaccuracies or resolving the many problems with the property, he downplayed the issues, refused to take responsibility, and prioritized his own interests. After moving in, we discovered that the property wasn’t even in the landlord’s name, which caused legal complications with empadronamiento and other residency processes. Engel & Völkers facilitated a rental agreement without performing proper due diligence, leaving us to deal with the fallout. When flooding made the property uninhabitable, the landlord’s son, acting as our contact, left us to bear all relocation costs ourselves while still charging us for the final month’s rent. He also withheld our deposit and refused to acknowledge the relocation services explicitly promised in our signed contract. When we asked Engel & Völkers’ management for help, they defended their agents, denied any wrongdoing, and shifted all responsibility onto us as tenants. This mishandling of the situation caused us significant financial and emotional harm. We trusted Engel & Völkers because of their reputation for professionalism, but this experience revealed a shocking lack of transparency, accountability, and care for clients.

Negative experience: A total disappointment, EV Valencia seems to have skipped all the quality service standards of Engel & Volkers to the point that WE FEEL ABSOLUTELY DECEIVED AND USED. Here’s our experience: - On November 12, an advertisement for an apartment for €225,000 is published on Habitaclia. That same day we contact EV expressing our interest. - On November 13, EV Gran Vía contacts us (Mª Carmen) to arrange a viewing of the apartment, but tells us it cannot be seen until the 15th. - On November 15, EV shows us the apartment in the morning. That same morning we offer €215,000, complete EV's extensive forms, and pay a deposit of €2,000. - On November 18, we are informed that we need to raise our offer to €220,000, and that at that price the apartment is ours. They inform us that there is another lower offer, but if we raise it to €220,000, the apartment is ours. We fill out the forms again and raise our offer to €220,000. We were very surprised to find out there was another real estate agency involved since EV always works exclusively; we have been clients of EV for some time (in Madrid), and that is one of the key advantages of working with EV, its supposed seriousness and the avoidance of real estate auctions with little transparency and professionalism. - On November 19, 4 hours after the deadline for our offer expired, EV calls us and says that the other client has used our offer to raise theirs with the other agency, that we cannot match it, and that the apartment is sold. EV is supposed to have negotiation capacity, quality standards, and principles; it is an actor with a portfolio of high-net-worth clients that is supposed to look after its clients. We trusted them; they told us that at €220,000, the deal would close, and they used our offer to let someone else take it. EV never does that—uses its clients for purposes other than finding and providing them with a property. We feel used and get the feeling that there was never an intention to sell the apartment through EV, but rather it was apparently used to leverage EV's database to raise the prices of other offers outside of EV. CONCLUSION: DO NOT WORK WITH THIS REAL ESTATE AGENCY; WHAT THEY PROMISE AND THE SERIOUSNESS THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO HAVE DO NOT MATCH THE REALITY IN LIGHT OF OUR LAMENTABLE EXPERIENCE.

Negative experience: A scam, do not trust them. They boast about being serious and professional, but they are the complete opposite. They have twisted us around with the purchase of an apartment they couldn't sell. Very very bad Mari Carmen Oriola, you have deceived us and made us waste our time. Some inept people.

Negative experience: After they approached me because they had a buyer, to whom I had already shown the property on 2 occasions, they made me a ridiculous offer. I agreed with them on the commission and they were okay with it. They brought me one visit and a moment ago the sales agent called me to say that she has sold everything and is now relaxing, and if I pay the commission she wants, she will sell it to me, but not for the price we had signed because it's too low. She told me not to lower the price at all and that from there I could pay her commission. And this is after they initially contacted us and took us into an office to try to convince me actively and passively to lower the price for the buyer by €25,000. Are we crazy?! Unbelievable. What a formal company. I wished her a good day and hung up, but she deserved something else. What a lack of shame. The sales agent is Tatiana Galinina, very formal and committed by what she has demonstrated, incredible!!!

Positive experience: My experience with the realtor Katerina started off very positively. During the apartment search and up until the moment I paid the 10?posit, Katerina was incredibly polite, courteous, and seemed genuinely willing to help. However, after the payment was transferred, her attitude changed drastically. After the payment, I discovered that the promised weekly cleaning service in the apartment was not provided. I spent four days trying to get an answer about whether there was parking available in the building. Eventually, I was told that there wasn’t any at the moment, but there were several paid parking lots nearby, and I was advised to go and check them myself. When I was traveling from another country to Valencia to move into this new apartment, I asked Katerina in advance if there were towels and bedding available. She didn’t respond for four days, and then assured me that everything would be there. However, when I arrived, there were no towels or bedding in the apartment. Katerina didn’t explain how to access the parking, didn’t help me find out about the storage room keys, and responded reluctantly and indifferently to all further questions. It became clear that, after the payment, I was no longer important to her – it felt like I had become a burden rather than a client. Although Katerina initially came across as a friendly and pleasant person, the overall experience turned out to be quite disappointing.

Negative experience: I can't lower my rating because it won't let me. I contacted them to look for an apartment for a family, in the area where I live and for a long stay. Everything was going well until I mentioned that we were foreigners and they started to give us the runaround, saying they weren't interested. Then they told me it was for students, when they had previously said they also wanted families for long stays. The gentleman started to stay silent without giving any response, just making excuses. I'm attaching the apartment. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS REAL ESTATE AGENCY.

Negative experience: I received disrespectful treatment, almost bordering on racism when I was trying to schedule an appointment to visit an apartment. I do not recommend working with this real estate agency at all if you are looking for any type of housing.

Fantastic experience: Excellent agency with a great selection of properties! We found our perfect apartment thanks to manager Tatiana Danilyuk. Tatiana listened to all our wishes and offered only what truly suited us, so we didn't waste time and found our option very quickly. We had a complicated situation with seven people, three children, and three dogs; everyone looking for housing knows how challenging it is. In our case, Tatiana quickly found us perfect accommodation with an excellent landlord. The area near Gulliver is ideal for walking with dogs and children in Turia. Tatiana listened to all our wishes and made them a reality (other realtors offered everything indiscriminately, without any passion). We are settling into our new place and are very grateful for everything! We recommend!

Negative experience: I give one star because they have filled our entrance in the Blasco Ibañez area with advertisements. The ground is full of leaves. We have a sign that clearly indicates that we do not allow advertisements. A tremendous lack of respect for the neighbors. What you do is negative advertising for being disrespectful. I will never go to your agency.

Fantastic experience: One of the best real estate agents in Valencia. Everything got started very well, quickly, and with immediate results. Superior video (with Birdeye flying over) and modern photo designers at home combined with the professionalism and experience of María de Fez and her colleagues, our house was not on the market for more than 2 weeks. Fantastic experience: A perfect experience! We came to Valencia very spontaneously to view a house and it was no problem at all. We needed a lot of time to measure some things, because we wanted to avoid having to fly to Valencia again before moving from Germany to Spain. Mónica (from rentals) was very patient and incredibly friendly. She speaks excellent English. Everything that followed was like something out of a textbook: the entire contact, the explanation of the rental agreement and further steps and much more. Mónica was always there for us and still is, far beyond the topic of real estate. She makes contacts for us, translates and helps wherever she can. She replies incredibly quickly and is always very, very friendly. I am sure that our emigration to Spain would not have been half as relaxed and pleasant if we had not met Mónica. If THIS is the Spanish mentality, then we did everything right by leaving Germany and moving to Valencia. Thank you so much, dear Mónica!

Fantastic experience: Rafael was the main reason for us finding an apartment here in Valencia. He instantly sent houses that met our criteria. (We have dogs - so it always harder to find a place) He helped us through every step of the process - and him speaking English was a tremendous help throughout the whole process. We love our place in Valencia and would recommend to anyone, to choose Rafael as their real estate agent.

Negative experience: If I rated it with one star, it’s because I have no other option. Very poor management by Fina Cano. If she does everything like this, the company is in trouble. First, I contacted them on Sunday through the website to ask about a vacation chalet. No one responded, so I called on Monday. A very polite young lady attended to me and tried to connect me with a sales representative several times. In the end, she took note of my number to have someone call me. No response! They sent me an email asking me to fill in all my details, which I didn’t do because I only wanted to know if the chalet was available or not. I replied via email that I had been waiting three days for someone to get in touch with me, and then this young lady sent me a WhatsApp asking how many people we were, where we were from, and if we had pets, which was what the owner needed to know to see if he would rent it to us (that was on Tuesday). Today is Friday, and I sent her a WhatsApp asking if the owner hasn't responded yet, and she replies that he said he doesn't rent it and to take down the ad. The least this young lady, Fina Cano, could do is respond with a yes or a no to avoid leaving the client hanging unless I ask. Oh, and assuming what she said is true, why is the ad still posted on the page? I had already been warned that this real estate agency was unprofessional, but she just confirmed it.

Fantastic experience: My family and I were interested in selling an apartment in the Ruzafa neighborhood (Valencia). After checking all the real estate agencies in the area to see what services they offered, the only agency that really showed interest in the apartment and in selling it under the conditions we, as clients, wanted, was Engel & Völkers. More specifically, Vicente, who is an excellent professional. Vicente was able to see exactly the potential of the apartment and supported us throughout the process, always defending our interests. Through clear, direct, and constant communication and advice, we achieved our objective. To this day, with employees like Vicente, Engel & Völkers is more than one step ahead of its competitors, and I wouldn’t recommend any other real estate agency. I will definitely count on them again in the future and I RECOMMEND them 100%.

Fantastic experience: We want to sincerely thank manager Tatyana Danilyuk, who helped fulfill our dream: moving to Valencia. She quickly found and negotiated a good apartment in one of the most prestigious areas of the city! And she was available at any time of the day. We speak little Spanish and we have an international work contract, not a Spanish one (for which we received rejections from other agencies and when approaching owners directly). We lived very far from Valencia, it was inconvenient to come for viewings, but Tanya arranged an online visit for us and processed the rental contract online. Fantastic experience: We recently sold our apartment through Engel & Völkers. The entire process was handled by TATIANA GALYNINA. We only have words of praise for Tatiana for her professionalism, kindness, and efficiency. She has always been available, greatly facilitated things, and worked diligently. Very satisfied with the services of Engel & Völkers and Tatiana's work.

Negative experience: I was almost deceived with a house that doesn’t have a certificate of occupancy and the construction is illegal. They assured me that everything was legal, and when I discovered on my own that it wasn’t true, they apologized by pretending not to know and assuring me it was the owner's fault and that they would remove the listing. Three months have passed since then and the listing is still up; they have tried to deceive another person I happen to know with the same house. The real estate agent was Paco, a very unpleasant man around 55/60 years old, and the house was a corner townhouse in Gilet, brand new from 2007 with a heated pool (I mention this in case someone else sees it and they try to pull the same trick). Don’t let them deceive you; I would never hire their services again, they are scammers.

Negative experience: They wouldn't show me the apartment I found, said I was searching too early (apartment said it was available when I wanted it though). All the other realtors were super helpful and I rented a different one. Not a big deal to me but I wouldn't list my apartment with them if I were an owner.

Negative experience: The service is terrible! Never use their services! I found an apartment on Idealista, and it was rented out through this agency. The manager was unresponsive, but when I went to see the apartment, I immediately knew I wanted to rent it. The manager drafted a contract for the agency’s services as if they had found the apartment for us based on our (area, size, and all preferences). For this, I paid 2000 euros plus a 21% tax. The rental terms weren't very pleasant - 2 payments for 4 months plus a deposit. But I agreed to it. When I made the transfer to the landlord, the bank blocked it. And the manager wouldn’t give me the keys to the apartment, even though the lease had already started. I went to the office, spoke to the director, and they suggested I pay again through their terminal (which was another 10000 euros) plus a 150 euro commission. They promised to return this money when the bank processed my first payment. Three days later, I got the keys. The bank processed the payment, and I went to the office to get the second amount refunded, but they couldn’t do it. After several hours in the office, the manager suggested making a SWIFT transfer. The transfer came through for a smaller amount than I had paid. In the end, I lost a lot of money. The effort and emotions spent on all this poor communication were immense. I feel like I was scammed. And they still claim they were helping me.

It is difficult for foreigners to rent an apartment, everyone knows that. But we signed the contract in one day, without crazy deposits or anything like that. Fast, professional, and hassle-free. Negative experience: Disorder, confusion, chaos... are some of the epithets I would use to define the functioning of this company. They only attend via the call center in Barcelona, which assigns you a salesperson who is never available at that moment, and who also does not contact you afterward. That is the cycle; every time I have called, the same thing happens... And if you try to reach someone responsible for the Valencia office (in this case) to assist you, it is not possible because all calls must first go through the call center filter. Engel, talk to Volkers about this, because it's getting out of hand. A shame...

Negative experience: The worst service you can imagine. Emails and calls go unanswered and people don't seem to enjoy working either. So I have to look for something with another agency.

Fantastic experience: Our case: zero Spanish and 2 cats. We immediately looked for every possible way - through agencies, chats, and groups, we wrote to owners and agents on rental websites. We encountered blatant fraud and the complete incompetence of 'realtors.' Tatiana Danilyuk from Engel & Völkers was very helpful. She offered options on WhatsApp, answered questions, conducted several viewings, and when we found our option, she processed the contract very quickly. Responsible and client-oriented professional.

Fantastic experience: Outstanding agency, and in particular I worked with agent Tatsiana Daniliuk - the best agent! Very pleasant to communicate with, client-oriented, all questions and documents were handled as if they were for her own family, carefully and diligently :) She answered questions quickly and at any time of the day + she showed the apartment on weekends, despite it being the weekend. She negotiated everything with the owner. Overall, I highly recommend it, the services are definitely worth the money!

Negative experience: Very bad experience. We lost two buyers due to their terrible management. They didn't give us the deposit back and we don't know if they returned it to the buyer. A total lack of transparency...

Fantastic experience: I recently had the absolute pleasure of dealing with Engel & Volkers to arrange my first rental in Spain. To put it simply, Julia is single-handedly the best real estate agent I've ever used. From the start of the experience she was polite, professional, and extremely capable in every facet. I had several quite detailed questions regarding residency and my personal situation coming over from the UK, which were all dealt with swiftly and accurately - allowing me to feel far more comfortable with moving over and committing to the property. She also represented me wonderfully when dealing with the landlord - securing a deal that I was extremely happy with. To add to this, she achieved all of this in a second language, which I really appreciated! I don't often write reviews, but I have no doubt that if it wasn't for Julia's assistance, I would not be achieving my dream of living in Spain. I cannot thank her enough - and I would whole-heartedly recommend her to anyone looking for properties in Valencia.

Paula Torralba was so helpful and communicated with me so well at every stage, letting me know what was happening and confirming every appointment. My Spanish is negligible but that was no problem. Her relationship with her clients the owners seemed to be excellent and I know that is important too. I definitely recommend this agency's services to anyone looking for an apartment to rent.

Negative experience: I called more than a week ago interested in a property, they tell me that they will transfer me to the area seller, after waiting they tell me that he is on a visit and will call me later. The next day they call me and ask if the area salesperson has contacted me, and I indicate that he has not. They do the same operation, call him and tell me he is on a visit and leave it as urgent so that we can visit the property. After more than a week, neither do they call us nor have we been able to visit the property. The customer service is unprofessional. (In case it helps someone, the area salesperson is Perellonet.)

Negative experience: It is very difficult to get in touch, I called to see an apartment, and from a switchboard I was told that the area manager would call me back. It took a while for them to call, the call was dropped, and they didn't call me back. The number was once again the switchboard, but this time they didn't call me. The apartment is still available for rent, and I don’t feel like calling the switchboard again to wait for someone to call me whenever they feel like it, or worse, that they don’t call at all. The owners should look for a more professional real estate agency.

Fantastic experience: Perfect experience. Due to reasons beyond my control, I had to move in 2 weeks. Irene took care of everything, showing me the apartment, handling the paperwork, resolving all our doubts, and signing the contract in just 4 days. Thanks to her, I didn't have to worry about anything. Without a doubt, highly recommended real estate agency, especially if you have the luck to meet Irene, a true 10 professional!

In my case, due to personal reasons, we couldn't buy it and they keep absolutely everything that was given, just for making an offer to the owner. They are pathetic, to say the least.

Negative experience: A nightmare of an agency! I contacted them remotely to get an apartment in Valencia. They offered me a 'newly renovated' apartment through agent Javier Lopez, sent me photos and videos, and everything looked fine. Upon arrival, the apartment was a disaster, extremely neglected, they didn't even bother to clean it. The agent ran away claiming he was busy and didn't even care to take an inventory. On top of that, it was in a horrible and dangerous area that they had painted as a 'family area' and if all this wasn't enough, they charged me illegal fees that I am currently fighting to recover with lawyers. They promised to fix my bad experience and it all remained as words carried away by the wind, they did absolutely nothing to remedy what they did and agent Javier Lopez is a tribute to incompetence. The agency manager Luis Martinez is a liar and irresponsible... I've seen better skills to run a business in any cheap corner bazaar. They are scammers who play with people. I had to solve everything on my own by hiring other agencies and in all of them, they told me that Engels & Voelkers has a terrible reputation, countless stories like mine are told among real estate agencies in Valencia and all about Engels... total garbage!

Negative experience: I had my house for sale with them for 3 years, with 2 different agents. The first ones were an Argentine couple who did a study of the house, and everything was great, as if we were going to make the deal of the century. After a year and a half, they started saying we should lower the price to attract visits (until then, no one had come to see it), and we listened to them (which was a mistake on our part). A few months later, without news from them, we called the real estate agency to see if they were still working there (as we had already experienced with another agency), and a manager answered us. We informed him that we hadn’t received any updates on the sales process, no clients were coming, nothing at all. That same day, this couple of agents from Engel called us angrily, saying their manager had reprimanded them and that if they weren’t informing us, it was because there was nothing to report. They said if we wanted to sell the house, we would have to lower the price we initially set by more than half. We stood firm and said no because, even though we knew how the market was, we believed the house was worth more than they claimed. The day after that conversation, they called intending to show the house to supposed clients and showed up at the property in a bad mood and angry, accusing us of having called their superiors, whom we didn’t even know, and calling us ignorant for not understanding the property selling process. They brought us a paper to terminate the working relationship between both parties, and we accepted. The next day, Engel called us again to apologize and with all the cheap talk, trying to convince us not to leave. We ended up falling for it again, and they assigned us another agent, who was just as bad or worse than the previous ones. Everything looked nice at first, but after a few months, they said we needed to lower the price if we wanted to sell. We endured a year with her until we got tired of the ineffectiveness and decided to leave this agency. Most of them act the same way, but what you can't expect is that just by putting an ad on four websites (to put a number), clients will appear, or on top of that, to ask all the time for the client to lower the price so that they can do their job and earn a quick commission.

Negative experience: Just a week ago, I contacted them to visit a property that I am very interested in, and they keep stalling me. Initially, María Jesús Chust was supposed to show me the property, and her behavior was rude from the very first phone call, showing little interest over WhatsApp. The next day, I asked for a change of agent to visit the property since María Jesús told me she had nothing more to discuss with me, and I really am interested in the property. Since Monday, I have been waiting for the new agent to call me. I have called three times a day, and they always tell me that the new agent will call me, but the call never comes. If I were the owner of the house in question, I would be very upset with the management as they are losing a potential sale. I only wish that the owner finds out about this to see if he can show me his house himself.
