You can have an income 5 times higher than the rent they request, and they will unfortunately tell you that you do not meet the requirements. If someone met the requirements they ask for, I don't know why they would think of spending their money on an apartment like the ones they offer when they could opt for something much better. There is another option that doesn’t make them look any better. And that is that, in reality, they use the salary as an excuse not to rent the apartment to a foreigner. Which would be much worse.
