At helpHousing, we offer housing services and personalised assistance exclusively for international students and young workers. We want to make your arrival and stay in the city easy and simple, while you just have to worry about enjoying your new home.
helpHousing is a great housing option if you are looking for a room in a flat shared with other students. They always help with any maintenance issue in a few hours, making sure to fix everything. The room in Madrid I lived in was big and in the city centre. helpHousing also helps international students to get settled and to discover more about the city. Thanks to them, I opened my bank account, I got special deals and discounts for the gym and info about parties, trips and more events.
I lived in Madrid with helpHousing for 6 months and it definitely was a great experience. Renting a room in Madrid was such an easy process with them; I found a flat that had all the necessary to feel like home: it included all the kitchen tools and the set of dishes, furniture and it was completely renovated! The flat condition was very good (and it’s quite hard to find something good like that in Madrid). All this, combined with a continuous assistance and a staff always there to help me, made my experience in Madrid unforgettable. My Erasmus would not have been the same without them!
helpHousing, the perfect assistance to live in Madrid! When I first arrived in Madrid (summer 2012), I was looking for something beautiful, good and cheap, something that is worth paying, seeking a balance between price and the place where to live; and at the same time I didn’t want to take the risk to rent a room with the wrong landlord. Moreover, I was looking for an international environment, a place where to get to know different cultures and perspectives.
I moved to Madrid during spring to study. I come from San Diego, California, and I had no idea about where I wanted to live; I just wished for luck...and, someway, I was lucky! I met a Mexican guy in Plaza de Las Ventas and he told me to get in touch with helpHousing. The office is in Gran Vía, the main street in Madrid; it’s been quite easy to find them. I met Jonas, my flat manager, a German guy that spoke Spanish and English (apart from German)...and that was a very good beginning! He showed me the flat, located in Barrio Salamanca, one of the best in Madrid. I had my own room and I shared the kitchen and the bathroom with international flatmates from Europe and USA. It was the best experience of my life, and I couldn’t have lived it without helpHousing.

Fantastic experience: I had a wonderful stay at a flat from Helphousing in Valencia. The flat managers were incredibly friendly and helpful, always going above and beyond to make me feel at home. I stayed at Plaza Avilla, room number 3. It's a great location; close to the old town and the universities. A lot of public transport options nearby! And the park next door is AMAZING!

Positive experience: I had a very good experience with them. They are a reliable agency and their team always responds to any concerns. The rooms are expensive for what they offer. However, the overall service is very good. I recommend it for going with something safe, knowing that you won't be robbed of your money when returning the deposit and that you will receive everything they promise and what's in the contract. Despite some requirements taking time to be addressed, they always attend to the needs of the tenants.
Negative experience: First, the flat had a low standard and you have to pay a big amount for a small place. The flat is situated near the park and only 30min to the beach. You have to make sure to write every agreement down, and take a witness with you, because they don't remember any arrangement you've made. I had to leave a month earlier and told them so at their office two months in advance with a witness. In the office they promised to write it down. When I asked the week before I left they confronted me with the fact that I'm not getting my deposit back because I didn't informed them early enough (a month). That's a lie. In fact there already was found a new flatmate, who took over my room the same evening on the day I left (20th of the month). And he had to pay the whole month too! Be alert and careful if you don't want to loose a lot of money.

Fantastic experience: I lived in the flat for 1.5 years and had very good experience. Great location and landlords are very nice and always respond to fix if there is something wrong in the flat or if it comes to paper work for legal procedures for students.

Negative experience: Apartment was decent. However you notice that they are really out for your money. They don't show or give a lot of effort to make your stay nice. Every small inconvenience for them is followed with an exaggerated bill for you. For example: we left a thrashback for only one day in our apartment and the day after we would take it out. We immediately received a message that if we did not take it out immediately we would get a fine of 20 euros for each person in the apartment. My conlusion is that i think they are to strict and unbothered.

Negative experience: El alojamiento como tal, está ubicado en una zona maravillosa, ideal para moverse con el transporte público, (excepto taxi, nunca saben llegar). Ahora bien, mi experiencia con este alojamiento, empiezo con que la habitación donde hice mi estancia, deja mucho que desear (creo que es la más costosa), es oscura y con una estructura incomprensible, tiene el techo súper alto, lo cual hace que sea un freezer (no exagero), tenia el baño privado … mmmm, digamos que es útil, pero con un lavamanos verdaderamente ridículo, digamos que cumple con lo de privado porque está en la habitación pero sin duda, no es un baño, aún así, lo peor ha sido que desde el primer día de mi estancia, hasta el último, tuve problemas con el dichoso baño, el agua salía hasta mi habitación de la nada, y luego empezaron a realizar trabajos con el baño durante mi estancia, hasta el punto que la misma empresa me ofreció una estancia externa por algunos días en otro alojamiento para evitar las molestias del del trabajo en el baño de mi habitación, cosa que fue bastante frustrante para mi ya que mi interés era tener un espacio tranquilo donde centrarme para estudiar, aún así, comprendí la situación y estuve fuera del alojamiento, pero lo peor fue cuando volví a mi habitación y vi que muchos de mis objetos personales arruinados por todo el polvo y suciedad que se reprodujo durante el trabajo con el baño. Llego un momento que contaba lo días para que acabase mi estadía.

Negative experience: ¡NO UTILICE ESTA AGENCIA! Decidieron quedarse con casi 600 euros (primer mes de alquiler + fianza) solo porque me mudé de la casa en menos de 48 horas porque la habitación estaba increíblemente sucia. A pesar de que intentaron solucionar los problemas, ¡tuve que dormir en un colchón sucio y manchado durante 2 días! Y la casa era aún peor, extremadamente oscura en comparación con las fotos y las áreas comunes estaban aún más sucias que la habitación. Podría ser ""razonable"" mantener una pequeña tarifa ya que dormí allí por 2 noches, ¡pero mantener el depósito y todo el mes de alquiler para dormir en un colchón manchado es solo una broma! DON'T USE THIS AGENCY! They decided to keep almost 600 euros (first month rent + deposit) just because I moved out of the house after less than 48 hours because the room was incredibly dirty. Even though they tried to fix the issues, I had to sleep on a stained, dirty mattress for 2 days! And the house was even worse, extremely dark compared to the pictures and the communal areas were even dirtier than the room. It could be ""reasonable"" to keep a small fee as I slept there for 2 nights but keeping the deposit and the entire month of rent to sleep on a stained mattress is just a joke! ***UPDATE**** In the end, I received at least my deposit back (equivalent to one month rent) as someone else booked the same room. So in that way, you can at least have a partial refund

Negative experience: Conozco gente que ha rentado habitaciones con esta empresa. NO SÓLO TIENEN UN TOTAL DESINTERÉS POR LOS CONVIVIENTES, sino que NO RESPONDEN LOS MENSAJES en situaciones de urgencia. NO INCLUYEN ROPA DE CAMA NI VAJILLAS y esto no lo aclaran durante el asesoramiento previo a la reserva. SON MUY PUNTUALES A LA HORA DE COBRAR PERO PARA RESPONDER, ABSOLUTAMENTE NADA. RESPUESTA: Conozco el lugar, he ido, he visitado el espacio y veo las condiciones. Por otra parte y para responder a su pregunta, se han contactado pero dado a que NO RESPONDEN DE FIN DE SEMANA teniendo aún, URGENCIAS BÁSICAS de los convivientes por cubrir, no han podido solucionar nada. Y la verdad es que es lamentable. No visitaré sus instalaciones. Gracias de todas formas por la invitación, ya lo he visto con mis propios ojos. Saludos!

Fantastic experience: Hola, soy una chica estudiante de Perú quien hace 1 año atrás, llegué a help valencia por un período de 3 meses. Durante ese tiempo me trataron super bien, a cada cosa que necesitaba me daban una solución y hasta el último momento me atendieron de la mejor forma. Es por ello que éste año decidí regresar con ellos por un período más largo y desde entonces encontré una familia lejos de casa.
