Negative experience: We are really tired of the situation and don’t know where and how to report something that seems totally unfair to us. This is how my partner and I have felt for about a month and a half, the time we have spent trying to find a 'decent' rental home. But just this dignity (which the current Housing Law enacted in May 2023 refers to) is what many real estate agencies are trampling on. In this case, Grup Nou Mileni, which I confidently told my partner the day before yesterday 'they seem professional and trustworthy', but as has become customary, we found ourselves with the same farce. By LAW, the third payment (related to management fees from the real estate agency or other charges they might tell you to mask an illegality) must be covered by the property owner you wish to rent from; otherwise, both parties are committing an illegal act, no matter how you spin it. I am not the one who has requested the services of any real estate agency but the property owner, and consequently, I should not have to bear the costs of services I have not contracted. Enough already! Let's report and raise our voices against those who, instead of safeguarding and facilitating the right and access to decent housing, manipulate and distort it at will to benefit from a situation that is becoming truly outrageous. We consider ourselves responsible people, working (for over two years 'of course'), who faithfully fulfill our tax obligations, paying our monthly rents rigorously (without surprises and without reductions, although we see the opposite case), non-smokers, with healthy habits, good neighbors, ahh! and most importantly, we have no pets (just in case they damage the flooring, even though we know much cleaner pets than some apartments we have visited). I hope this serves as a letter of introduction to potential real estate agencies or landlords who still have a bit of empathy left and, if not, at least it can awaken the conscience of those who find themselves in the same situation. Let's fight for a law for decent housing. (To their response: 1. None of the portals where they have any of their rental properties announced talk about payment conditions (I have the images). 2. They also don’t mention it in their contact via WhatsApp (I also have the images). 1 and 2. Therefore, it is not true that I had been informed beforehand; it was done at the final moment of the visit just after showing us the garage (which, by the way, their colleague initially said was included in the price and then after a call raised it by €60 if we wanted it). 3. At no time have I visited their offices, and I declined the offer right in the garage (the moment I was informed and argued to their colleague that maybe they should have started there). 4. I applaud ALL the work they do, which, as they rightly point out in their response, is for their client. But don’t be mistaken, MY CLIENT IS NOT ME BUT WHO HIRES YOU. I understand that they have every right to charge for their services, but bill the person it pertains to. 5. Do they really think they can keep justifying something unjustifiable? They can keep arguing as much as they want, but we have come to a point where the only avenue we have left is public denunciation.
