Fantastic experience: We found Mark and Rosy ak Galician country home's in 2018, We were looking at first in southern Spain, but after being invited to a family wedding in Bilbao, we started to tour northern Spain looking at properties in Cantabria and Asturias. When we discovered Galicia we fell in love with the area and started our search. after a number of years and a lot of to-ing and fro-ing we found a property just south of Vilalba and north of Rabade. Mark has been fantastic, helping with the local bank and assisting us though the buying process. we completed the purchase at night of the covid pandemic, Rosy was a great help in getting our NIE's for which we gave her the power of Attorney. once the pandemic abated and we could move more freely between Spain and the UK we start renovation of our property. there was no water (luckily there is a fuerte a couple of hundred meters away for drinking water and washing) so we called on Mark for his help in finding a local chap who could bore us a well. then we had water and the renovation continued using a petrol generator for power. We eventually bit the bullet and again consulting Mark found an Electrician to get power to our Casa. this completed ,we have again asked Mark help us though the minefield of applying for a meter and electricity. currently we continue to renovate our Casa doing 3 to 4 week here and 5 to 6 week's in the UK. Fantastic experience: I recently purchased a rustic home with land in the Galicia region through Grupo Country Homes (GCH), and I couldn't be more pleased with the experience. As a US citizen, the process of buying property abroad can be daunting, but GCH made it seamless. The GCH website is user-friendly, featuring incredible photos that offer a comprehensive overview of each property. After narrowing down my options, I contacted GCH via email with the property IDs of interest. They were prompt in providing additional photos and videos upon request. When it came time to tour the properties, GCH assigned me a knowledgeable agent. While I'm fluent in Spanish, I appreciated that they have English-speaking staff available. Note that you might need to cover a small mileage fee for the realtor to visit remote locations. During the visits, some property owners were present to answer questions, which was very helpful. Once I selected a property, I made an offer through my agent, who communicated it to Rosy and her team. I highly recommend getting an informe técnico (inspection report) from Rosy's recommended architect, Maxim Architects, which takes about 3-5 days. If you need a survey, that's a separate service with a higher fee. Additionally, hiring a lawyer is essential; I used Lexidy and had a great experience (see their webpage for my review). For the legal process, I visited Rosy’s recommended notary, Angel Vicedo, in Lugo. Notaries in Spain are government officials who execute important documents, so I secured a Power of Attorney (POA) for Rosy to handle the military authorization process, which required a US FBI criminal report with Apostille and translation. I also arranged a POA for my attorney to manage the transaction while I was in the US. It’s also necessary to have your passport validated by the notary. With all these documents in place, my attorney took care of the due diligence while I returned to the US. Rosy and her team were instrumental in gathering all the property deeds and filings needed to close the deal. They kept me informed throughout the entire process, offering invaluable resources and guidance from the initial offer to the final closing. My transaction involved a rural home next to a river and took about a year to complete, so patience is key. It's also important to note that you’ll need to put down 10% when executing the contract, which is non-refundable if you back out. However, if the seller changes their mind, they are required to pay you double that amount. Make sure to set up and fund your Spanish bank account well before closing, as transfers from the US can take several days. In summary, GCH is a superb real estate firm for anyone, especially US citizens, looking to purchase property in Galicia. Their team is responsive, knowledgeable, and supportive throughout the entire process. I hope this review helps future GCH clients, as detailed online information can be hard to find.

Fantastic experience: We came to investigate the possibilities to buy a rural house in Galicia. The visits we made to the house of our interest were based on a list earlier received from Saulo. Visits were spread over 2 days, with the programed hours, incl. distances and all well documented. Saulo could not have been more helpful, kind and efficiënt. Negative experience: A disappointment, only interested in money. The treatment with Rosy was disappointing, everything was through WhatsApp and she didn't answer the phone... all excuses and poor organization... zero recommended for the money they keep. Fantastic experience: The team at Galician Country Homes did a great job selling our small holiday cottage. As we live in the U.K. we’re were getting worried post Brexit, that we’d be unable to sell. They also helped us arrange to Power of Attorney so that they could process the sale on our behalf without us flying back & forth. They kept us fully informed along the way. The only slight negative was that the Notery forgot to send our payment through. But once Rosy chased them up the money appeared in our U.K. a/c immediately. We are very happy with the service.

Fantastic experience: Coñecemos a Mark no ano 2010 cando nos mostrou unha casa na Ribeira Sacra e nunca máis esquecemos o noso encontro con el, porque se trata dunha persoa cun profundo amor por Galicia, a súa natureza, xentes e cultura. Unha actitude así non adoita darse nun estranxeiro, así que soubemos que estábamos ante una persoa especial, e co tempo soubemos que é un galego máis, ao que lle debemos, por exemplo, a liberación da Cascada do Ézaro, grazas á pelexa legal que levou a cabo. Novamente estamos a procura dunha propiedade e non dubidamos en recurrir a empresa de Mark, que agora está en mans igualmente competentes e cercanas ao público, como é o selo persoal desta inmobiliaria. Me acuerdo el primer día que conocí a Mark, un gran hombre (en ambos sentidos) que no era nativo de Galicia pero que estaba más orgulloso de estas maravillosas tierras que algunos gallegos. Cuando abrí la casa nos encontramos con una piscina en el cuarto de baño y Mark cogió una fregona y me ayudó a limpiar mientras me contaba algunas aventuras de su vida con su gran sentido de humor.
