To clarify, the cameras inside the property were disconnected and certified by an official security company. These devices are only present in some of our properties for security reasons and are never operational or recording during guests’ stays. They are there to ensure the protection of the property when it is unoccupied, without compromising our visitors’ privacy at any time. In other properties, Airbnb has allowed the use of these cameras under official security certification, provided they are clearly disclosed in the listing and meet the requirement of being deactivated during stays. We take your comments seriously and will review our procedures once again to ensure all information is communicated as transparently as possible.

Dear Marine, We are sorry to read your review. I must tell you that from our point of view, your review is very unfair and unclear. First of all, you never canceled the reservation. You sent us a message two days prior to your arrival informing that you could not travel, but we never received a formal cancellation. In case of having received the cancellation, the cancellation conditions stipulated in the reservation would have been applied. Regarding the cleaning costs, we do not charge any cleaning fee to our guests at this property. This cost is assumed by us, and I must tell you that the cleaning work had already been done for your arrival. I hope you understand that we have acted in the most correct way possible. Dear Thomas, First of all, I would like to tell you that we are very sorry that you had this bad experience and remind you that we are available to help you with whatever you need. We want to make it clear that we acted from the first moment, but you decided to leave the house a few hours after notifying us of the incident, leaving us with no margin to try to clarify what could have happened. We even advised you to report the incident to the police, giving you support on that if needed, but that seemed not to be relevant for you. That said, we want to assure you that only you and the owner had the house keys. No one from our agency or the external staff that we work with has keys to any of the properties that we manage. Our agency is a small company of three people and we have never had any incident of this type in our more than eight years of activity. Of course, we fully trust the owners of all the properties that we manage. They are all experienced owners and there are tons of guests who have left their testimonials to verify it. The last thing owners want is to have unhappy guests, which is clearly against their business. After your call, we asked the owner, and he assured us that no one had been on the property after your arrival. No one came in to clean the pool or the terrace. This task had been done the day of your arrival, as always. He also checked if any of the windows or the main door had been forced by any means, but he could not find any evidence of it. The owner has also proceeded to change the door lock and lockbox code for extra security. Having said all this, of course, we cannot doubt your version of the story, and we do not doubt your word. On the other hand, we cannot guarantee 100% that no one would have managed to enter the property in some way that we do not know. What we can guarantee you with complete certainty is that neither the owner nor any of the three of us has ever carried out an action similar to the one you describe. This is proven by years of honest management and is portrayed by hundreds of guest reviews from all over the world. We would ask you to please change your attitude and qualify your words since it seems to us that your review does not match the truth and is extremely unfair to us and to the owner.

Dear Uwe Sieben, We want to thank you for sharing your experience, it helps us to improve our service every day. Every situation has different points of view and we will try to explain ours: We must mention that we offered a property under construction. The end of the work was scheduled for May 1, 2017 so we opened the calendar from Jul 1, 2017. We thought about some reasonable delay and left two months just in case. Even that, there were a lot of problems with the building process, and the end of the work was delayed again and again by the Building Company. They promised us delivery dates, which they constantly breached. Here we want to accept our biggest mistake, this was not being realistic enough about the delays of the building process, and trust in constructors promises. When we decided that the house wouldn’t be ready for Mr. Sieben we started working in searching for an alternative house for his stay in Mallorca. The easiest solution for us would have been to refund the deposit of the original reservation (30% of the total amount) to Mr. Siebens and apologise for the situation. Doing this we could say it was noticed that the property was under construction and against our will we couldn't rent the house. But again, we believe in giving to our clients the same treatment we'll expect for ourselves so we started working to find another accommodation to Mr. Sieben. At all times we made it clear that we would bear the costs of this relocation so our intentions were to solve the problem giving the best service we could. We found a similar house (not from our portfolio) that Mr. Sieben accepted as an alternative. We booked and paid for this house and everything seemed solved. Suddenly we received an email from the alternative house manager saying that due a mistake with the availability calendar she must cancel our reservation. We showed the documentation about this situation to Mr. Sieben and proposed another option in a personal meeting that took place on our office. The alternative (https://www.foravilarentals.com/en/mallorca/can-picafort-marmi-79b) was a brand new house near to the beach and with the same facilities that the original one. Over the extremely difficulty in finding a place in this short term in the middle of summer, the most difficult part was to convince the owner to allow the dog in the house. In order to convince him, we dealt a higher caution with the owner, that of course we would take care of it. Even though we were paying for the price difference in between the original house and the new one, Mr. Sieben ask for an extra discount of 465 € to take this alternative house and we accepted it. The total price for the original house was 2093 € and for the alternative house is 3150 €. So we accepted to spend 1522 € + electric consumption. Mr. Sieben accepted the offer in first instance, but then he decided that it was not good enough for him. We offered not once but twice an alternative house, took care of all arrangements and payed extra cost for the house and insurance we felt like anything we could do was not enough and then decided to refund the deposit he had paid for the reservation. After that he contacted us saying he wanted another house that he found on Internet, and asking for a compensation for the difference of the price between the houses. Even not having to we accepted to pay this difference of 147 € he is mentioning in his review. We had transfer this money at the moment that he wrote the review, and it is a thing we ask to update because after all this effort we put on solving the situation he is not being sincere. Please try not to focus your complaints on a person. This is not a personal matter. Foravila Rentals takes all its decisions in a consensual way. There is no justification for a personal attack to any of its members. Once again thanks Mr. Sieben for your review. Although your opinion this time is not as good as we would like, it will help us to continue improving.
