Negative experience: We booked a house that was suddenly canceled a few days before our arrival because it turned out there was a double booking. Paula initially offered us a compensation/reimbursement for the costs this incurred, if we agreed to the cancellation. Then it was canceled without further consultation or question, and Paula did not adhere to the offered compensation. Presumably, she later realized that she was only obligated to pay a fine to Airbnb and subsequently found that sufficient, deeming the written promise unnecessary to fulfill her obligations to us. We were left empty-handed. Everything was arranged, boat tickets and flights, which could no longer be canceled, and we had to urgently find another similar location during our vacation. This incurs significant extra costs and a lot of inconvenience, moving several times in between and spending a whole vacation day dealing with this.
